Anglicans want to make their parishes into village retail

Link to original

The Anglican Church wants to use their parish buildings in rural areas as village shops. According to a report in the Sunday newspaper, the "Sunday Telegraph", the "church" wants to revitalize the communities and give villagers the chance to shop in their buildings.

The "church" buildings are often "the only public place in a village or low-income neighborhood," said the bishop. The move follows the establishment of post offices in churches, after the Royal Mail announced the closing of many branches in rural areas.

Commentary: The collapse of Christendom, even outside the Catholic Church, is everywhere.

Hungary May Introduce Constitutional Ban on Homosexual Marriage

[national secular society] Under pressure from the Vatican, the Hungarian government is planning to introduce a complete ban on abortion and any prospect of legalised gay marriage in its new constitutional proposals.

At a meeting with the pope earlier in December, the Hungarian ambassador was told that it was “desirable that the new constitution be inspired by Christian values, particularly in what concerns the position of marriage and the family in society and the protection of life.” The pontiff’s wishes are reflected well in the governing Fidesz party’s proposal, which — in additional to mirroring papal teaching on abortion — says marriage is “the most natural community of man and woman.”

The pope told the ambassador that “Europe would be finished” if heterosexual marriage were no longer “the norm”. He said: “Europe would no longer be Europe if such a basic cell of the social construct were to disappear or to be substantially changed.”

China Completes Military Highway to India

Beijing (AsiaNews/Agencies) – A new highway now links Metok County, in southern Tibet, to the rest of China. Although of limited economic significance since it has a small population of some 11,000 people, the area is crucial from a military standpoint because it bolsters Chinese claims to the wider region, currently disputed with India.

The People’s Liberation Army did most of the work. On Wednesday, its construction crews broke through the last obstacle in the 3.3-kilometre Galongla Tunnel at 3,750 metres above sea level, thus completing the 117-kilometre Metok highway.

At present, the “PLA's fighting capability in southern Tibet is very weak because we failed to overcome countless fatal natural barriers there over the past near five decades," Shanghai-based military expert Ni Lexiong told the South China Morning Post.

Bishop of Birmingham Defends His Gay Mass

Birmingham Archbishop Attacks Faithful Catholics Protesting London’s ‘Gay Masses’

LONDON, December 17, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A group of pro-life and pro-family British Catholics have reacted with dismay this month as the “conservative” archbishop of Birmingham, Bernard Longley, has accused them of being “judgmental” in their opposition to an officially approved “gay” Mass that is ongoing in the archdiocese of Westminster.

In an interview with the liberal Catholic magazine, The Tablet, Longley, widely regarded as a theological conservative among the Catholic bishops of England and Wales, said, “I assume” that the people praying and protesting outside the church where the Masses are held, are acting out of prejudice.

Asked by The Tablet whether “those protesting are making assumptions” about the “lifestyles” of the people attending the Masses, Longley replied, “I would assume that is the case, and so it isn’t for any of us to make those judgments which, in conscience, people make before God and also within the sacraments, particularly the sacrament of reconciliation assisted by the priests and other pastors within the Church.”

A Pogue and "The Priests" Sing Drummer Boy: The Video

A promotional video is available on the new Shane MacGowan  and "The Priests" video, here, where they'll be singing Little Drummer Boy.   Others have made the comparison between Bing Crosby and David Bowie, which was very popular and somewhat shocking and strange when it came about.  Since we're used to such juxtapositions and irony now, Shane MacGowan will surely surprise those who know of him as anarchic, dark and anti-clerical will be taken by surprise at the singer's reverential treatment of "The Priests".

This meeting of these entertainers in contrast to Bowie standing on equal footing with Bing, gives  the air of the prodigal returning home, as the riotous Pogues lead singer asks "the Priests" for a 'blessin' before they go.  It's much more touching than the Bowie-Crosby meeting lacking the forced generational tension. It certainly looks much darker in this new version and they will possibly be singing as Bowie correctly and properly did, "that men of good will can live in peace" and not  "that each child should be made to care" in its very hyper-educational vein.  Perhaps it's also a lot less preachy as the producers of the Bowie-Crosby show felt the need in that time to tip the hat to the "Peace" Movement in the late date of 1977, whose naive optimism had been shattered the year before when the Punk Rock movement came on the scene, which prepared the way for the Pogues early eighties debut.  It's almost as if Bowie and Crosby are seeking refuge with the remnants of the Ancien Régime  in a country estate as Anarchy came to the UK.  Incidentally, Bing Crosby had been long established and his popularity never really waned.  Bowie's career as a pop icon was just then coming to an end.

Wikileaks Being Used to Beat the Church

Liberal anti-Church papers like Guardian et al will want to make these wikileaks into swords and clubs to beat their intended victim with.   Without sufficient analysis of the various sources, it might be easy to confuse the Garda with the good knight on the white horse, and the Murphy Report as an unbiased fact-finding commission made up of people who were really concerned about eternity, justice, truth...

The Vatican refused to allow its officials to testify before an Irish commission investigating the clerical abuse of children and was angered when they were summoned from Rome, US embassy cables released by WikiLeaks reveal.

Requests for information from the 2009 Murphy commission into sexual and physical abuse by clergy "offended many in the Vatican" who felt that the Irish government had "failed to respect and protect Vatican sovereignty during the investigations", a cable says.

Despite the lack of co-operation from the Vatican, the commission was able to substantiate many of the claims and concluded that some bishops had tried to cover up abuse, putting the interests of the Catholic church ahead of those of the victims. Its report identified 320 people who complained of child sexual abuse between 1975 and 2004 in the Dublin archdiocese.

Algiers: The Most Important Pilgrimage Church in North Africa Newly Consecrated

The Church of Notre Dame d'Afrique was closed for three years during renovation -- Is counted among the most remarkable edifices in a land dominated by Islam.

Algiers (kath.net/KAP) The most important Catholic pilgrimage Church in North Africa, Notre-Dame-d"Afrique in Algiers is to be newly consecrated in the presence of the Religion Minister Bouabdalla Ghamallah as well as the Church and Diplomatic guests from the EU and Africa.   This was reported by the French Internet-site, "Tout sur l'Algerie".  The 140 Year old Church was closed in 2007 because it was badly in need of necessarily renovations.

The Basilica was consecrated in 1872.  It stands at a height of 124 Meters on the hill above the bay of Algiers and counts among the msot remarkable edifices in the Islamic dominated land.  It corresponds to the concept of the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde in the French port city of Marseilles.

The around five million Euro expensive renovation was undertaken by the city of Algiers, the Province of Algeriers, the city of Marseilles, the French Department of Bouches-du-Rhone, Algerian State Companies and French corporations active in Algeria.  Even the EU has supported the undertaking financially.  Sea winds and earthquakes have damaged the Church in the course of the years.  The work of restoration has been accomplished under the direction of the Marseilles Architect Xavier David, who was also responsible for the restoration of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde in Marseilles.

From the beginning on Notre-Dam-d'Afrique was even for the Muslims a place of pilgrimage.  In the apse since 1872 has the golden inscription "Our Beloved Lady of Africa, Pray for Us and For the Muslims".   Of especial importance is the organ of Notre-Dame-d'Afrique:  The powerful instrument was installed in the Villa Georges, which belonged to a private English gentleman.  He was an admirer of the composure and organist Camille Saint-Saens, who died in Algeria in 1921.  After the death of the Englishman in 1930 the organ was donated to the Basilica.

Oberammergau bends 10-year vow, will stage religious plays annually

German grandmothers once made the traditional blood sausage every ten years.  Oberammargau is scarcely Catholic and has been substantially watered down, like so many Seminary Curricula, so that it isn't really Catholic at all.
[M&C News] - The Alpine town of Oberammergau, which reputedly vowed in 1633 to dramatically re-enact the death of Jesus Christ once every decade, said Friday it would stage a play once a year in future.

Christian Stueckl, director and producer, said the German townsfolk were fed up with waiting 10 years at a stretch for their next chance to act. [Too bad, but it's all about self-promotion, which is why it will be lame] Male players must grow full beards for the roles.

Tourists have been coming from round the globe since the 19th century to see the production in the remote Catholic town. This summer, 500,000 people saw the Passion Play staged in a purpose-built 5,000-seat auditorium.

Jesuit-like Diocesan Priest Worships the God Shiva with Ravi Shankar

Jefath Gaspar Raj Crazy Like a Jesuit
Remember when the 60s were fun? Father Jegath Gaspar Raj, who is not a Jesuit as we first were informed, has had a lot of interesting connections, playing an intermediary in the peace talks between Tamil Tigers and the government of Tamil Nadu, running businesses and then becoming implicated in running the 2G Spectrum Scam.   Working in collaboration with Jesuits, he's working to destroy the Catholic Faith by breaking the First and Second Commandments, and he's doing it by  worshiping Shiva to promote his musical endeavor and get himself and the local Archdiocese out of a financial jam.  Some people seem to think that the Jesuits in India are pretty good.  We're inclined to think they might be even worse than the ones in the West.  Has anyone warned Father that he's committing one of the worst crimes a Christian can commit?

Not to be outdone in his many other adventures, this ambitious priest is featuring a musical production .  The production will cost about 15,000,000 Rupees which is about $135,000US, funds of the Archdiocese and some of which they are borrowing with the Blessing of the Archbishop himself.  More astounding than the cost of the production of the album will be part of the stated purpose which is to Praise the god Shiva.  The website Layitudity avers that this is because the enterprising  Father Gaspar needs the money and relies on the support of his Hindu fans in Sri Lanka:

The priest, with the blessings of Most Rev. Antony Devotta, Bishop of Tiruchirappalli, and the support of other Catholic priests, Fr. Vincent Chinnadurai, Fr. Lourdu Anandam, Fr. M.A. Joe Antony S.J. [Editor of the New Leader], Fr. Joe Arun S.J. [Director of the Institute of Dialogue with Cultures and Religions, Loyola College campus, Chennai], and the full knowledge of Archbishop Most Rev. Malayappan Chinnappa SDB and Auxiliary Bishop Most Rev. Lawrence Pius Dorairaj of Madras-Mylapore, uses the studios, offices, communications systems, infrastructure, personnel, time [over 3 years] and money of the Church in the pursuit of his goal, with a projected budget of Rs. 1.5 crore [Rs. 15 million] towards which he has made borrowings of at least Rs. 1 crore [Rs. 10 million], much of it at an interest rate of 20%.
Ravi Shankar's Music Made Me Cry

What's even more interesting than a dancing Jesuit doing Yoga, which the program also promotes, in addition to pagan worship, is the appearance of Ravi Shankar who is famed for teaching George Harrison of the Beatles to play the Sitar.  He will be part of this extravaganza that promises itself as some kind of Mozart thing.

Dance like the Wind
Can't get over these Indian Jesuits.  Anthony de Mello SJ and now this guy.  It's too good. Where Anthony de Mello SJ tries to be aloof from these moneymaking things, this Jesuit is almost shamelessly dipping his mits into the cookie jar.

"May Be That Some Think I'm Crazy"

The Mass of All Ages
"People from my community, who are not liturgically educated and therefore don't know that the pre-Conciliar Rite is supposed to be 'evil', speak of the old Mass in the meantime with complete naivete as the 'proper Mass.'"

(kreuz.net) "surely there are not a few German chief shepherds, who are concerned about the unique path of Germany."

There you can read "much that is crying out from between the lines".

Fr. Hendrick Jolie (46) explained this in his most recent interview with the monthly magazine 'Kirchliche Umschau".

Fr. Jolie is the member of a team of speakers of the German 'Priest Network'.

Dissenters will be hard to unpack

"Our shepherds should know that they are not standing alone, if they decide to stand on the side of the Pope." -- he said.

Because: "There are countless priests and believers out there, who are waiting for a sign of solidarity from the Holy Father -- a sign that are not exhausted in words, rather something that can be read in concrete acts."

A bishop will find it much easider to distribute a Roman Instruction to his Diocese if he knows which priests and believers he can leave to its implementation.

Fr. Jolie himself believes the Pontificate of a German Pope is a "moment of grace for the Church".

This must not elapse.

Why since the death of the Fulda Bishop Johannes Dyba (+2000)  is that the Senior Sheperhds don't dance out of line, he finds it hard to explain:

"The case of +Mixa has shown then that the episcopal conduct of "dissidence" can be compared to everything else but brotherly."

"May be that fear rules here" -  concluded Fr. Jolie.

The Old Mass is the Mass of tomorrow

Fr. Jolie was asked how he priestly soul can be relighted.

His answer: "Priesthood and the offering of Sacrifice go together."

The obedience of the priest is shown above all in the offering of the Sacrifice of the Mass:

"How will they show the obedience of Christ in the ritual, if they are at the same time narcissitically attempting ever newer gimmicks?"

For him the Old Rite is an outstanding school of obedience: "The priest opens himself in the requirements of this Rite to be stamped in a certain way, which is completely alien in the new Rite."

Fr. Jolie did not experience the Old Rite in his childhood for long.

Because: "after I had learned this Rite and celebrated my "First Mass" in the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite, a feeling gripped me of homecoming."

Fr. Jolie also explained the reactions of his Parish:

Afterward: "People from my community, who are not liturgically educated and therefore don't know that the pre-Conciliar Rite is supposed to be 'evil', speak of the old Mass in the meantime with complete naivete as the 'proper Mass.'"

The Clergyman isn't too concerned about his repution:

"May be, some think of me as crazy, but according to my clear understanding the Old Mass is necessary for the healing of the Church."

Then he cited the Priest Rodhaudt from Aachen: "The old Mass is the Mass of tomorrow, because without it there won't be another morning."

‘Time to look again’ at China Church relations

[UCANEWS] Two veteran observers of China Church affairs say it is time for Beijing and the Vatican to take stock of their relations and work out how to ease the tension caused by the recent ordination of a bishop not sanctioned by the Vatican and last week’s national congress.

The government-sanctioned National Congress of Catholic Representatives convened in Beijing on Dec. 7-9, about three weeks after the unapproved ordination in Chengde.

Violence Against Pro-Lifers in Salzburg

At a Pro-Life demonstration of "Youth For Life" in Salzburg an activist was punched out by a  Pro-Abortion fanatic and had to spend the night in the hospital.

Salzburg (kath.net) At a peaceful demonstration by the Austrian life defense group "Youth for Life" this last Saturday in Salzburg a life defender was punched.  The group broadcast this information recently.

The event, at which  Salzburg's Auxiliary Bishop Andreas Laun took part, was disturbed by a counter-demonstration.  This demonstration did not shrink from obscene and unworthy provocations like "If Mary had aborted, we would have been spared."  After the end of the chain of light, as the life defenders had left Mass at the Mullner Parish church, five members of the Youth For Life were occupied with removing torches and banners and were confronted by the pro-abortion people and assaulted.  A young life defender suffered a concussion from a punch and had to spend the night in the hospital.

Cardinal Zen Decries Chi-Com Government's Attack on the Church

(AsiaNews) The empty chair onstage in the Oslo municipal hall makes me remember the two empty chairs in the Synodal Hall, when in 1998, for the first time, I participated in the Synod of bishops: one was for Bishop Duan Ying Ming of Wan Xian, the other for his Coadjutor Bishop. Still for the Synod of two years ago, a delegation from China was not possible, because someone had insisted to include in the group an illegitimate bishop.  In the Synod of 1998 I said: "In China there is no real religious freedom." Unfortunately, last month at the Consistory of November 19, I had to give the same bad news to my brethren Cardinals: "In China there is still no religious freedom."

Pope meets with Japanese bishops to discuss Neocatechumenal Way

By Carol Glatz
Catholic News Service

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Japanese bishops, including the president of the bishops' conference, met with Pope Benedict XVI and top Vatican officials to discuss the Neocatechumenal Way.

The Dec. 13 meeting with four Japanese bishops had been called by Pope Benedict, said the president of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Japan, Archbishop Leo Jun Ikenaga of Osaka.

He told Catholic News Service that the meeting lasted nearly two hours and included the Vatican secretary of state, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, and "several other cardinals."

While the archbishop would not comment on the substance of the meeting, he said the bishops would have to have further discussions with the Vatican and the Neocatechumenal Way's co-founder, Kiko Arguello.

Braunschweig Dominicans Out of Control Promote Homosexuality on Website

Under pressure from without the Braunschweiger Dominicans have undertaken some cosmetic alterations.

(kreuz.net)  Homo-Dominicans in Branschweig have removed the worst references to unnatural offers of seducation from their website after  substantial protests.

Till yesterday the propaganda material as well as "homosexual-groups" and homo-networks were openly promoted -- "in place of spreading Gospel and the teaching of the Catholic Church as well as informing about their precautions for the prevention of sexual abuse" -- as the protestant Website 'medrum.de" explained it.

Actually 'medrum.de' maintained that the internet offers of degenerate company is still "exclusively single minded".

Because: "All of the available information blocks reglated to the theme of Homosexuality and the connections to information ports to homosexual groups remained unchanged at the Dominican website."

• The website of the morally degenerate 'Ecumenical Homosexual Workgroup and Church'
•The website of the decadent 'Network of Catholic Lesbians"
•The website of the unnatural 'Youth Network Lamda'
•The website of church and enemies of the bible 'Gays in Cartel of Catholic Student Organizations'
•The entrance onto the web of Church-hate group 'Workshop for Gay Theology'

The site 'medrum.de' cited from an editorial that the 'Workshop for Gay Theology' had published in 2008.

There you can read things like:  "It is unforeseeable that the hierarchy of the Catholic Church has shifted the terrain of its homophobic interventions."

The gay-site was describing the Church's  fight against the State's privileging of  homosexual concubinage.

The editorial asks the question if homo-ideology could change the approximate "homophobic powerstructures in the Church", which supposedly have hardened  in "visciouness and hypocrisy".

One finds also on the homo-website of the Braunschweig Dominicans now as before the rubric "Homophobia".

Here comes the distorted homosexually disturbed  Udo Rauchfleisch to the fore.  He fantacizes over "anti-homosexual violence".

In reality the homo-ideology is already long acquainted with a readiness to commit violence, joined by state-tolerated left storm troopers -- and waltz down anyone who dares to criticize the homo power grabs.

The site 'medrum.de" wonders about the site of the Dominicans and why they haven't put anything about the Catholic Church's teaching about homosexual-perversion.

There is also no information about spiritual groups and therapeutic approaches for those who suffer homosexuality, to follow the Gospel and free them from their homosexual temptations.

The Portal also maintains that the Dominicans "explained nothing about sexual abuse" on their website.

Accordingly, in the Church's area where abuse is relatively rare, over eighty percent of the perpetrators are homosexuals.

Pogues Singer Sings Drummer Boy With "The Priests"

DUBLIN (CNS) -- The Irish trio of clerical classical singers The Priests has teamed up with former hellion and punk rocker/Irish folk singer Shane MacGowan for a recording of "The Little Drummer Boy." The track, also known as "Peace on Earth," was always going to be included on The Priests' third album, "Noel," but mindful of the success of the 1977 recording by Catholic crooner Bing Crosby and glam-rock star David Bowie, the clergymen thought a collaboration with another singer might provide a counterpoint to their classically trained voices. "Our management told us Shane was available and we were delighted by the idea," Father Eugene O'Hagan, one of The Priests, told Catholic News Service. A gifted songwriter, MacGowan, former lead singer with The Pogues and later a band named The Popes, became widely known for his alcoholic binges both on and off stage. His song "Fairytale of New York," recorded in 1987, is the Christmas song most requested and played on radio in Ireland and the United Kingdom. "It was a pleasure working with Shane," Father O'Hagan said. "After the recording, Shane asked if we could pray together and he asked for our blessing. It was a lovely moment." The three priests from the Down and Connor Diocese, brothers Eugene and Martin O'Hagan and David Delargy, started singing together as youngsters at St. MacNissi's College, an elementary school in Northern Ireland.

Weakland Appointed Seminary Rector Attacks Church's Teachings

The head rots from the fish down and bad appointments of Bishops yield bad results and this former Seminary rector is now in charge of a parish.  He was appointed by Archbishop Weakland..  Archbishop Weakland himself was a favorite of Paul VI.   Not only does the Seminary rector, Father Victor Capriolo suffer from deficiencies in theology, but he suffers from deficiencies in his knowledge of human nature as well:

I am aware also that Saint Paul says the various distinctions we use to categorize and divide one another are not appropriate for the Church. “There does not exist among you Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female.” (Galatians 3:28).
I’m sure women can relate well to their belonging to the Church as the bride of Christ; but, I wonder, how can men do that? As baptized members of the Church, men are part of the Body of Christ; but can they see themselves as the bride of Christ?
If the body of Christ is both male and female, I wonder … if there were both male and female priests as head of the Church, then that spousal image of Christ and his Church would make better sense for both men and women.

Archbishop Nienstedt Stops Liturgical Abuses at Fake Indian Worship Center

Indian church, archdiocese clash over mass elements

Archdiocese questions use of special wine.
Last update: December 13, 2010 - 10:27 PM

The future use of Indian practices, however, is being questioned by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, which temporarily suspended mass at the church last month after conflict arose over the use of specialized wine.

The unrest at Gichitwaa Kateri comes at a time when Pope Benedict has called for renewed emphasis on tradition and uniformity in the Catholic church, leaving churches like Kateri wondering how many, if any, of their traditions may be compromised. Twin Cities Archbishop John Nienstedt also has a history of strongly adhering to orthodox church doctrine.

French Benedictine Sisters Top Pop Charts in UK

New Gregorian-CD of Benedictines from Avignon is on the English Top 15 List -- The Gregorian Choir Speaks "to the Soul".

Paris (kath.net) The French Benedictines of Notre Dame de l'Annonciation of Avignon have made a CD with their Gregorian songs and have stormed the UK Top 15 of the British charts.  The album reflects with the songs to profession of the withdrawn lives of the Sisters:  "The Gregorian Choir helps us to draw completely close to the Lord God.  He doesn't speak to the senses, rather to the soul", explained a Sister to nanoo.com. In the internet commentary of a Youtube-blogger girl said of the music:  "that is so beautiful... I don't know anything about God, but Catholics make such wonderful music!"

The Community of the Benedictine Sisters of Notre Dame de l'Annonciation was founded in  1979 and has its home in Le Barroux, in the vicinity of France's province of Avignon.  The Sisters lead a furtive, withdrawn life devoted to prayer and work.  Their sung prayers have finally become known outside the borders of France as they have signed a record contract with Decca in London.  Now a chart success is the result.

Ancient Catholic Monastery Uncovered in United Arab Emirates

The unexpected find provides the emirate another tourist attraction to add to resorts and museums
United Arab Emirates

The remains of a monastery and church opened this week to the public in Abu Dhabi, offering tourists and locals a rare glimpse into the Islamic emirate’s often-forgotten Christian past.
The site contains the remains of a an Eastern Syrian church and monastery that was erected around the year 600, and was in use for about 150 years, Peter Hellyer, the project director for the Sir Bani Yas Monastery Project, told The Media Line. Located on Sir Bani Yas, a small deserted island off the coast of Abu Dhabi, the site shows the first physical evidence of a Christian presence in the southern gulf.

Degenerate Art Foundation Threatens Smithsonian With Defunding

The New York Times says that Warhol Foundation wants degenerate art returned to the stalls of the Smithsonian.   Caught between a big mouth and a big pocketbook.  It just might be possible that Smithsonian could be encouraged to do the right thing by helping change people's minds on value.

Part of what makes Warhol's decadent legacy so powerful is the perception of value.  The best way to resist this is to continue make beautiful things, even the simplest things, and to fill them with love.

Please try to remember that one of the  aims of Marxist demoralization is to promote degenerate art in public spaces to degrade people's idea of what beauty is, and therefore truth.

"Catholic" Blog Defends David Berger's Homosexual Deception

Homosexual friendly clergy at "Pray, Tell" blog, hosted by some priests at a Modernist Monastery in the Midwest are focused like laser beams on what a dishonest homosexual activist from Germany and former theologian has to say about the Catholic Church and Its legitimate aspirations.  Berger's already accused the Church of hypocrisy about Its position about sodomy, why doesn't he join St. John's Abbey and all the other liberals who pose as Catholics and found their own religion?  It's ironic indeed that one of the largest centers of homosexual predators in the country if not the world also hosts a website concerned about the sexual health of Traditionalist priests.

Speaking of aspirations, Berger is enjoying almost universal praise from the anti-Catholic press.  The bloggers there, after insisting they are very familiar with Berger's work are very defensive of the homosexual charlatan.  If they ever met at St. John's Abbey for a conference, you can be assured there'd be a mutual admiration society set up.  One of the homosexual enabling blog's commenters complained that he didn't know what Berger's "professional" status in the Catholic Church is.  Well, Berger still teaches at a Catholic high school in Germany and like a lot of schools who hire active homosexuals either knowingly or unknowingly often refuse to fire them even after they've proven themselves to be less than honest.

Father Ruff rises to Berger's defense, insisting that he's read the deceptive German sodomite:

Fr. Allan, if you haven’t read the book by Berger, perhaps you should step back from comparing it with Michael Rose’s book.

Berger is a bright theologian (doctorate in the field). I’m not so sure that Michael Rose even claims to be a theologian. Rose holds that homosexual orientation and homosexual people is the problem. We need “good men” again. Berger, rather, discusses the problematic ways people do or don’t deal with their orientation. I think this is a significant difference. I find the former homophobic, but not the latter.

I wouldn’t lump Berger and Rose together.

Yes, the latter is a lying homosexual poser, a confidence man who admitted to winning over people in Traditionalist circles to earn income while he  was living in a homosexual relationship with hiis "partner".  The former is an honorable man and was very accurate about what was going on at the Louvain, which at the latest had abandoned its Catholic identity and will be closing out in any case, due to a lack of interest in what they have to offer.

Another blog contributor, Father Cody Unterseher is worried that this histrionic creature's book won't continue being carried by Ave Maria Press, thanks Cody:

One wonders if Sapientia Press of Ave Maria University will be courageous enough to keep Berger’s little book Thomas Aquinas & the Liturgy in print. It’s an very useful contribution, and I’d hate to see it fall victim to unnecessary and unhelpful suppression.

New Traditional Latin Mass Location- Diocese of Pistoia, Italy

The Legionaries of Christ leave founder-worship behind...

(Rome, Italy) The official website of Regnum Christi has just posted a news piece about new norms that they put in place in regards to how they will deal with the memory of their founder, Fr. Marcial Maciel.

Here are the new rules listed on the R.C. site:

- In institutional writings, the way of referring to Fr Maciel will be as “founder of the Legion of Christ and Regnum Christi” or simply “Fr Maciel.”

- It is confirmed that photographs of the founder alone or with the Holy Father cannot be
placed in Legionary or Regnum Christi centers.

- Dates having to do with his person (birthday, baptismal day, name day, and priestly ordination anniversary) are not to be celebrated. The anniversary of his death, January 30, will be a day dedicated especially to prayer.

- The founder’s personal writings and talks will not be for sale in the congregation’s publishing houses, centers, and works of apostolate.

- The crypt of the Cotija cemetery with the mortal remains of the Maciel Degollado family, Fr Maciel and other Legionaries of Christ and Regnum Christi consecrated members will be given the value that pertains to any Christian burial place. It will be treated as a place of prayer for the eternal repose of the deceased.

- The retreat centers in Cotija will continue offering the same services, but a place for prayer, reparation, and expiation will be created there.

Founding member of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary turns 90

(Still River, Massachusetts) On November 1, Sister Anne Mary Cobb celebrated her 90th birthday. Customarily in community only the feastday of the patronal Saint is celebrated for each religious, but at ninety it seemed appropriate to mark the day with a celebration.

At lunch, the Sisters from St. Elizabeth’s House and Saint Ann’s House joined for a party in Sister Anne Mary’s honor.

Sister is one of the founding members of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the first member to attend Father Feeney’s lectures at the Center in Cambridge.

A native of Clinton, Mass, sister had an illustrious career before she entered religious life, traveled throughout Europe before the war. Sister joined the Center in 1949 and has been a faithful member of the Community for sixty-one years.

A woman still to be admired, Sister impressed everyone with her wit and Irish elegance which has not diminished. Reciting one of her many poems at the celebration, the event ended with song and laughter and gratitude to God for such a beautiful example of perseverance.

China: Communist Named to Vice Regent: 100 Seminarians in a Hunger Strike

Hard Core
Editor: This article appeared about two weeks ago, this situation is still ongoing, will check for more information and join these brave souls in their resistance to Communism.

(Peking)All 100 Seminarians of the seminary in the Chinese province of Hebei are protesting against the Official of the State Commission for Ethnic and Religious Affairs in the Province.  For 19 Days the Priests are in a hunger strike with which they are protesting the appointment of a Communist to the Vice Regency of the Seminary.   The Seminarians fear that the Communist regime is going to interfere with the religious education and spiritual values by subordinating and making it docile to outside political influence.

The Seminarians are protesting in choir robes and have displayed on signs that they wish the cancellation of the appointment of Tang Zhaojun as Vice Regent.

"We protest are protesting before the Government Administration because this situation is no longer acceptable.  The demonstration is an initiative exclusively of the students.  This decision was not instigated by any priest or bishop,"  explained Asia News of the Seminarians.

During the "silence protest" there were two discussions between State Functionaries and the Seminarians.  An agreement cant in any case hasn't been reached.  The students have stuck to a written document, with which they demand the cancellation of the appointment of a Communist Political Commissar.

Tang Zhaojun was  named Vice Regent on 11. November. It was then that the decision was made by the students to protest.  Because the government was not prepared to reject the appointment, this  prompted the Seminarians to begin their hunger strike after  19 Days.

After the first days of the hunger strike the standing Administrative Director of the Seminary gave the Seminarians a verbal directive, to consent to the appointment.  On this point a delegation of the Prelates of the Diocese came to an agreement with the authorities.  The delegation however didn't come to an agreue.

ement because the prelates were abducted by the secret police and forced to participate in the illicit episcopal consecration of Chengde on the 20th of November.  So the question is still unclear.  "Till today we haven't received any news that the appointment has been withdrawn",  said a Seminarian to Asianews.  For that reason, the hunger strike will continue.

Insights from John Allen Jr.

Although this appeared in National Catholic Reporter several weeks ago, I thought you might want to read one of the most insightful pieces that I have come across in a while. John Allen Jr. gives an excellent overview of the press coverage of the 2010 sexual abuse crisis.

Pope to Intervene in Belgium Against Homo-Bishop Vangheluwe?

Editor: That's all you need to know. It's pretty simple: Liberalism = Child Abusing Clergy

Does the Pope Want a Trial?

Homosexual Liberal on Patrol
Belgium [kreu.net] The resigning old Liberal Homo-Bishop of Bruges, Mons. Roger Vangheluwe (74), should be subject to a canonical trial.  This was according to the French bi-monthly 'Golias' on their website. The Bishop has candidly admited that he had homosexually abused his nephew for a year long.  According to the information from "our sources" the publication explained that Pope Benedict XVI. is going to be personally in favor of  an intervention in this trial.

Opus Dei Condom Connection

Editor: don't say we didn't tell you so. Condom use = Opus Dei

Condom Use Is Moral?

Now an Opus Dei priest has weighed in on the condom controversy, arguing in a lengthy OSV article that condom use, while it may have a prophylactic effect, can be a lessening of the evil of an intrinsically disordered act.

But this priest goes much farther than that, and his conclusions are quite disturbing.

There are several sections which attempt to summarize this thought, but here's as close to a money quote as the article's diffuse, poorly articulated reasoning presents:
Granted that immoral sexual behavior should be avoided altogether, in my view the point rightly made by the Holy Father is that when someone who is already performing immoral acts uses a condom, he or she does not properly choose a lesser evil, but simply tries to prevent an evil — the evil of infection. From the sinner’s point of view this obviously means to choose some good: health. Yet, provided we consider the immoral activities (for example, prostitution) to be intrinsically evil, using a condom to prevent infection means to reduce the evilness and moral disorder of this activity.

New Attorney for Hero-Bishop Richard Williamson

On the telephone Bishop Williamson asked his new attorney if he would want to take the case and if he's really Catholic.
Martyr Bishop Richard Williamson

(kreuz.net)Pius-Bishop Richard Williamson has a new attorney.

This is according to the Online-edition of the newspaper 'Heilbronner Stimme".

Bishop Williamson's case will be taken up by defense attorney Norbert Wingerter (72). The attorney is five times a father and works half days in his office still.

Wingerter quickly explains that there is no denying the so-called Holocaust and -- in Germany-- the official numbers.

Msgr Williamson asked him on the telphone if he would take up his defense and if he were really Catholic.

Wingerter said yes to both.

The attorney is according to the "Heilbronner Stimme" a percise specialist in appeals.

He has already successfully defended two other Holocaust cases before the Federal Courts.

Msgr Williamson could have researched that and chose him for that reason --- surmises the attorney.

To assume the mandate is for Wingerter a matter of professional ethics. Every client has the right of a defender he can trust.

Till now Wingerter has never assumed briefs from Regensburg.

He has spoken already several times with the Bishop by telephone.

Wingerter expects the case to begin at the earliest in March.

The attorney sees a defense strategy as, to ask, if Msgr Williamson was certain that his statements would be broadcast to the German public.

In addition Weingerter wants to establish the sum of 100 Euro as a daily rate.

He doubts that the Bishop has the "money in his coin purse",  in the amount of 100 Euros per day.

The German process against the hero-Bishop is illegal according to international legal standards.

Oregon Catholic Press Will Produce New Missal

Editor: Well, some of the critics of the new Missal seem to be indicating that the New Missal won't be that great, "for many" translation notwithstanding.  It sounds like the rework of the 2008 Revision has been revised again.  It juts goes to show you if you try to please everyone, you please no one.  Do these people still worry about pleasing God?  The Music looks horrible.  Anything with Dan Schulte on it is bound to inspire revulsion, and if Oregon Catholic Press is doing it, you know it's got to be less than virile.  Just check out the cover art.  So, yes, the thing will be done, but the usual old Left apparachiks are going to benefit from it, to the further denigration of everything.

H/t: Stella Borealis

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 7 /Christian Newswire/ -- To help church leaders prepare their communities for the new English translation of the Roman Missal, OCP has given free download access, including unlimited reprint permissions, for assembly editions of every new and revised Mass setting the publisher offers.

Vienna's Pastoral Office in the Hands of Left Feminist

The old Liberal Cardinal of Vienna is promoting an old Liberal Church functionary, who is associated with the anti-Church group "We Are Church".  The anti-Catholic media bosses will praise her.

Christoph Kardinal Schönborn
Christoph Kardinal Schönborn
(kreuz.net, Wien)Today on the feast of the Immaculate Conception, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn of Vienna has made some of his personal decisions known.

The old Liberal Vienna Regent, Secular Priest Nikolaus Krasa will be the new General Vicar.

Fr. Krasa is a passionate mountain climber. [sounds dangerous]

He proceeded to terminated his position in 'Press Service of the Archdiocese of Vienna", to continue on in the old Liberal line of his predecessors.

The old liberal Viennese Subregent, Fr. Richard Tatzreiter, follows Father Krasa as Regent.

Fr. Tatzreiter was recently promoted as the supposed result of "collegiality" of priests.

Finally the Cardinal named the old Liberal Pastoral Theologian Veronika Prüller-Jagenteufel as the new director of the Pastoral Office.

The current old Liberal director, Fr. Michael Scharf, will be the Spiritual Assistant to the Pastoral Office.

Everything is on a Course in the Direction of Decline

With the naming of Mrs Prüller-Jagenteufel, Cardinal Schönborn has established a decisive course to put women in positions of responsibility normally held by clerics.

Already, women head the Financial Office, the Office of Schools, the Business and Accounting Departments of the Archdiocese of Vienna in the old Liberal decline.

Mrs. Prüller-Jagenteufel worked as Assistent and received her credentials studying under the anti-Church Viennese Pastoral Theologian, Fr. Paul Micheal Zulehner.

She was decisively involved with the preparation and execution of the Cardinal's anti-Church penance and protest liturgy with anti-Catholic Society, "We Are Church" in the Spring of 2009.

The event served to play up the infrequent homosexual abuses of children in the ecclesiastical area.

Initially, Mrs. Prüller-Jagenteufel's wished for proposal "a 'date of foundation' in the Church":

"We could confront the necessary institutional deconstruction anti-cyclically with many initiatives, experiments, community foundings and departures"  -- the Pastoral Theologian varnishes the the destruction of parishes.

Mother Attacks Religious Sister

Austria [kreuz.net] Two young children fought briefly over a vocabulary book in a kindergarten run by old Liberal Franciscan sisters in Vöcklabruck in the Diocese of Linz.  The stronger five year old brutally struck the weaker.  For that he earned a well deserved canning from the kindergarten instrutor, a Nun.  The next day the mother of the beater came and struck the Nun brutally in the brutally in the face.  The old Liberal Order assigned the Sister with an occupational ban.  Sister will not work any longer in the occupational area of pedagogy  -- assured the Order.

Jesuit: "I Am a Religious Atheist"

Austria. Christendom must become "atheistic and religionless".  This was said by the old Liberal Jesuit, Father Roger Charles Lenaers (85), at a lecture in Vienna according to a report of the Linz commerce website, 'kath.net'.   The old man is active in the parish of Vorderhornbach in the Diocese of Innsbruck.  Religion consists in a thin flow of experience for the Jesuit that the human intellect can't grasp entirely and is hidden behind an experiential "something":  "Because of this I am a deeply religious atheist."

Way to Go Cardinal Wuerl

Cardinal Wuerl has received special recognition from the Rainbow Sash movement for his work on recognizing depravity and giving it a special place in the hearts of so many people.

His work is very special, very, very special.

Cardinal Wuerl of the Archdiocese of Washington for siding with common sense and reason by allowing “Catholics for Equality” a newly formed Washington DC based Gay Catholic political organization, sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign Fund to host an event to be held at Georgetown University Intercultural Center Auditorium University Wednesday, December 8, 2010 8:30 - 10:00 PM

But is it accurate or even honest to say that Cardinal Wuerl has had a change of heart?  He seems to always have been a fomenter of sodomy in his own way.

"This is the response from our Archdiocesan director of Communications courtesy of Crabby-Roads:

"Yes. We were in touch with Georgetown. The group Catholics for Equality has been told by GU it may not sponsor or hold events there. An adjunct faculty member at GU, Rev. Joe Palacios, is the leader of the gay marriage group (he is very involved with Human Rights Campaign). He is on some panel the GU Dems and GU GOP are sponsoring. He is a priest of LA. He does not have faculties in the Archdiocese of Washington. In short Rainbow Sash put out a wholesale lie apparently trying to get attention. Thanks for the heads up. Please feel free to let those you know are concerned the information is completely false."

Thanks to inhumanable for the photo.

French Judge Forbids Community to Display a Crèche: And the Son of Man Had Nowhere to Lay His Head

Freethinkers have complained-- Now there are fears that the example will make a school.

Paris (kath.net/KAP) in the Northern French community of Montiers the Town Council has been forbiden by a judge to display a Crèche.  The judge ruled for the plaintiff, who based his suit on the principle of the separation of Church and State against the display, as the regional paper "Courier Picard" reported this Tuesday.  Commentators fear that this example could be a school for others like it.

Claude Debay, retired teacher and former Mayor of the Community had already decided that the crib would not be displayed in the market area, rather more "hidden" -- namely between the Church and the War Memorial.  That didn't satisfy the freethinker though [See, don't make concessions to these people.]: The judge has agreed with him and decided, the neutrality of the town area, to remove the crib from it completely.

The current Mayor Xavier Deneufbourg strongly voiced his anger in "Courrier Picard", Debaye has also organized Easter Egg Hunts himself during his time in office.  So his action against the Crèche is completely inconceivable.
