Excommunicate Cuomo
"We strongly uphold the Catholic Church's clear teaching that we always treat our homosexual brothers and sisters with respect, dignity and love," the bishops said. "But we just as strongly affirm that marriage is the joining of one man and one woman in a lifelong, loving union that is open to children, ordered for the good of those children and the spouses themselves," the bishops said. "This definition cannot change, though we realize that our beliefs about the nature of marriage will continue to be ridiculed, and that some will even now attempt to enact government sanctions against churches and religious organizations that preach these timeless truths."
The statement was signed by the bishops of all eight Roman Catholic diocese in the state of New York, led by Archbishop Timothy Dolan of the Manhattan-based Archdiocese of New York. The other bishops signing the statement included Bishop Howard Hubbard of the Albany Diocese, Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of the Brooklyn Diocese, Bishop Edward Kmiec of the Buffalo Diocese, Bishop Terry LaValley of the Ogdensburg Diocese, Bishop Matthew H. Clark of the Rochester Diocese, Bishop William Murphy of the Rockville Centre Diocese, and Bishop Robert Cunningham of the Syracuse Diocese.
The New York State Senate passed the same-sex marriage bill late Friday and Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Catholic, signed the bill into law at 11:55 Friday night. The state assembly has passed the bill the week before. The law will go into effect in 30 days. The law was enacted just in time for New York City's annual "gay pride" parade, which takes place on Sunday. The parade runs along Fifth Avenue, passing directly in front of Saint Patrick's Cathedral, the seat of the Catholic Archdiocese of New York.

Bishop Fellay cites Vatican Official, "Church" Full of Heresies
Correcting misreports
The Holy See-SSPX doctrinal discussions are already very complicated in themselves - there is no further need to distort anything. Several news sources, for example, have stated that the Superior General of the SSPX, Bishop B. Fellay, characterized "the Church" as "filled with heresies" in his sermon for the ordinations of the United States district (for an Italian example, see this).
What Fellay actually did say, however, was that this was something mentioned in the Vatican halls by Vatican officials, which he repeated:
We will continue to say that there is a crisis in the church. Sometimes it’s really frustrating because in Rome they give the impression that everything is fine, and the next day we talk to them it’s not. These are the words from the Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith: “But you know, it’s the priests, it’s the bishops, it’s the Catholic universities: they are full of heresies!” That’s what the the Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith told us in June 2009!

Pope Wants Universal Law for Kneeling
Mgr Marini also posited that kneeling before the presence of the Lord makes it all the clearer that it really is Jesus and implies our adoration of Him. Not that we just receive Him but that we kneel before Him. To kneel accomplishes the truth of our relationship with Him - we adore. This is true freedom because man submits to slavery to many other earthly things - we bow down before these false gods - but to kneel before Christ expressses the truth and therefore reveals the dignity of man before the Lord of Life. Kneeling is the TYPICAL sign of offering our hearts and lives. The Church that kneels in the body will adore in the heart.

Kreuz.net Brings you the Red Hot Information on the Church Scene
It's unbelievable. First the media speculate wildly that Bishop Gerhard Ludwig will be named Archbishop of Berlin as soon as September -- and thereby receive not only diplomatic and political honors, but also a Cardinal's hat. Many in the Church are upset at the premature pronouncements of the Media. But now once again an arch-reactionary internet site has all of the answers.
The curse of secrecy in the Vatican couldn't be more clearly demonstrated as it through one short, but specific, announcement on the internet site kreuz.net:
The appointment of the Archbishop of Berlin will be made known before the end of the week. The auxiliary bishop of Berlin, Matthias Heinrich (56), has been chosen.
With that, all the speculation about the successor of Cardinal Georg Sterzinsky, would once again be made absurd. For it was only last Sunday that the Frankfurter Rundschau claimed to have brand new information that those in Berlin, who participate in the selection of the bishop, weren't able to agree on a candidate, and so the Vatican then suggested Müller as a wild-card. Apart from the fact that the article was poorly researched (it claimed that Müller was in Rome for an unknown reason, while in fact he is a member of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, which had just met in Rome), it now looks like it was wrong.
That's because kreuz.net is a phenomenon. The holocaust is regularly denied on the site. Marginalized groups like homosexuals are referred to as "Homo Perverts" or simply "sodomites". Much more often than not, the SSPX is praised while almost all of the bishops -- including Müller, but also in the first place the Pope himself -- are called incorrigible modernists because they accept the II Vatican Council. The site represents the view of the extreme right wing, and it is immune to legal attack because it is hosted somewhere in the USA.
Again and again the people who run kreutz.net, whose identities are completely unknown, are somehow able to come up with red hot information, that they actually could only be getting straight from the Vatican. And that's how it will probably go with the report of auxiliary bishop Heinrich as the new Archbishop of Berlin. It would really be a stroke of bad luck if the report turns out not to be true.
Or the other way around: Perhaps it's bad luck if the report is true.

The Glowing Heart of Religion: Cardinal Schönborn on Corpus Christi
Cardinal Christoph Schönborn at his Corpus Christi Sermon: From the "Disposition of the prayer lost to self" follows from a "inner Joy, the Joy of God himself, Who helps to bear all hardships."
Vienna (kath.net/PEW) Cardinal Christoph Schönborn recalled in his sermon at the Josef Square in the center district of Vienna the tradition [sic] of Josephism going back to the Emperor Joseph II. The "temptation of Josephism", said the Cardinal, is still with us today, namely, "to measure religion according to its social and communal usefulness". "And then we all play industriously along, in which we put all the importance of the Church for its usefulness to the State and Society."
For that reason this produced a "complete balance of success" -- the Cardinal identified, among other things, Catholic Schools, the distribution of Charity, the ecclesiastical cultural goods and the lobbying for development -- for which "we also show our thankfulness as a sign of esteem and the recognition of the side of the State, as approximately the most recently conclusive natural sign of the marketability of the Church's contribution" [which "isn't a privilege for the Church, rather the recognition of its contribution to the good of the whole"].
"Aimless, but supremely meaningful"
it is therefore a "great other: religion, faith, church as a society of faith, may not be understood according to its use. The burning heart of Religion is the purposeless mystery, and if it does not live any more from this secret, then its burning center is extinguished." The Eucharistic Adoration, therefore in the Monstrance which carries the Host, which according to the Catholic understanding is Christ himself actually present, says Cardinal Schönborn, "purposeless, but supremely meaningful". "The Mystery is adored that is present in this small piece of bread.... must have no balance of usefulness." "Finding God according to God's will! Jesus Christ is honored and adored in the form of his Eucharistic presence: That is the meaning of today's event", the "living kernel" of the Corpus Christi tradition.
"Freed from a self-justifying ritual"
Finally Cardinal Schönborn focused in his sermon at the Josefplatz, "not intended but all the more important side-effects" which "comport the purposelessness of giving adoration": First, "that we are released from this sometimes painful ritual of self-justification". Here the Cardinal recalled that many efforts of the Church for Society are actually numerous, and are gratefully recognized, "but we may not inform ourselves, that we, for that reason, are the only and the best." Even the secular society has "fantastic schools, good hospitals, fantastic social services -- without religious motivation."
"Free for Service to Neighbor"
Second, following on the "Demeanor of the selfless adoration" an "inner joy, which is the joy in God Himself, who helps bear all hardships. Finally to be free of the self-forgetful adoration of the mystery, free from one's self, free for God, free for the devoted service to neighbor." "Our duty" on Corpus Christi, "This purposeless procession, these moments of adoration bring the source to approachability, which flows from our society with new power", concluded Cardinal Schönborn his Sermon.

The Eucharist -- The Way For the Renewal of the World
Rome (kath.net/as) The Eucharist brings man to Jesus, who in the traces of Christ are capable, to give to one another, and to become a tool of the unity of the human family. This was said by Pope Benedict XVI in his sermon at the Holy Mass of Corpus Christi in the Papal Basilica and Bishops' Church of Rome, St. John Lateran. After the service there was a large crowd of people participating in the Pope's traditional Procession, which concluded with a Eucharistic blessing at the Basilica of St. Maria Maggiore.
In the Eucharist is the complete transformation of the fruits of the earth -- bread and wine -- with the goal, to transform the lives of men and in this way to begin to transform the world, says the Pope, who invited thereon, to think about the mystery of Christ, who through His self-donation on the Cross saved the world and showed the way of salvation.
Everything takes its beginning with the heart of Christ, who thanked and offered God at the Last Super and transformed the meaning of death with the power of his love. From love, Christ took the suffering to death on the Cross and transformed it with an act of giving. This transformation, which the world needs, there it saves it from within, opens it to the dimension of the Kingdom of Heaven. Actually God wants to make this renewal real in the same way for the world, to which Christ is come: "through the way, which Christ is".
For the same reason, God handed over to the world the gift of the Eucharist, to offer the possibility of salvation for every person: "In Christendom it is nothing magic. There are no short cuts", says Benedict XVI., "everything is accomplished by the pious and patient logic of Faith, by which the gentle power of God moves mountains."
For that reason, "God will proceed to renew humanity in history and the Cosmos freeing him from these chains, Whose Sacrament is the Eucharist. Through the consecrated bread and the consecrated wine, in which is body and blood are present, Christ transforms us, so that we are made like Him: he encloses us in his work of salvation and makes us capable through the Grace of the Holy Ghost, to correspond to his logic of the gift to live, as grains of wheat, which are joined to Him and in Him". In this manner these are sewn and ripened in the furrows of history in unity and peace, "which is the goal, to which we are striving after the plan of God."
In order to understand the dynamic of eucharistic Communion, Benedict XVI explained the absolute division from the "Confessions" (VII,10,18) of St. Augustine, as he reported a manner of vision, in which Jesus said to him: "I am the food of grown men, and you shall feed upon me. You will not change me, as the meal is to the body, rather you will be changed as you are transformed into Me."
In the Eucharistic Commuion "we are transformed by Christ Himself, in this manner our individuality is open, freed of its egoism and bound with the person of Christ." So the Eucharist opens man even for others and overcomes all separation.
Whoever recognizes Jesus in the Host, "perceives him also in the brother, who suffers, who hungers and thirsts, the alien, naked, sick and imprisoned; and so recognizes every man; he establishes a concrete way for all in one, who are in need". For that reason the gift of the life of Christ a special responsibility of Christian for the building of solidarity, rights, brotherly society: "especially in our time, in the globalization of a larger interdependence, with which Christendom must be concerned, that this unity can not exist without God, that is to say can not be built without true love."
The Gospel is always a goal toward the unity of the human family, "proceeding from the meaning for mutual responsibility, which we recognize in the limits of our bodies, the body of Christ, which we have learned in the Sacrament of the Altar and continue to learn that the common part, that love is the way of true justice."

First Corpus Christi Procession in St. Petersburg in 93 Years
The announcement was confirmed by the Archdiocese of the Mother of God in Moscow, reported Vatican Radio. The procession will take place on Sunday, June 26, through the Prospettiva Nevsky Avenue, the city’s main street.
The avenue has traditionally been called the “way of confessional tolerance,” as it is lined with Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran and Armenian churches. According to archdiocesan officials, the last time a Corpus Christ procession took place on the avenue was in 1918.

Catholic Bloggers have Been Disgusting
The IRA is Heavily Infiltrated by Reds
The IRA has been seriously riddled with Communists in the past, and this looks to be just another example of that political realization happening by hiding behind old sectarian feuds. Why can't we have a Catholic Revolution against modernist Bishops instead, where we get Bishops who don't put us to shame, and don't make unnecessary concessions to our enemies?
Northern Ireland is enduring some of its worst rioting in a decade, heightening sectarian tensions as the region prepares for the climax of the marching season that every year tests the peace process.
Over two nights starting June 20, shots were fired and masked rioters threw petrol bombs in east Belfast, a traditional Protestant stronghold in the city, as police tried to prevent them entering the Catholic Short Strand estate.
The Ulster Volunteer Force, a Protestant terror group, coordinated the violence, police say. The eruption damped the celebrations for Northern Ireland golfer Rory McIlroy, who won the U.S. Open on June 19, and cast a shadow over the region’s efforts to emerge from recession.

Meet the Liturgical Jacobins of Collegeville
Boy, Ruff, instead of worrying about enforcing your Jacobinism on the unsuspecting remnant in the pews, you should be worried about whether or not there will be a Collegeville to spread poison and ugly art in the next twenty years. With an average age of sixty seven, at least half of the "Monks" in the Modernist Monastery will be dead in the next ten years with very few incoming vocations to replace them. Awww, no more bad art, bad music and Modernism. It's sad too, because at one time, Collegeville housed many brilliant minds, some of them probably orthodox, if the late, great Tom Roeser and St. John's Alumnus can be believed. Certainly, St. John's will never produce another scholarly politician like Eugene McCarthy.
If we can take the current decline in numbers at Collegeville as a democratic vote for the New Mass which the praytell.com types love so well, then really, "the People" don't really want the New Mass at all. Although Pat Marker at Pine Curtain singles out abuse as one of the primary factors, there's a deeper reason for the decline in the numbers of vocations. It's the Modernism. Otherwise, how do you account for the enormous numbers of religious entering religious houses since the beginning of the Nineteenth Century and after? The revival coming after the French Revolution was not really checked until the spiritual malaise of the Second World War and the dramatic debacle of the Second Vatican Council, which opened the windows and doors of the Church, it is said, and everyone left, mostly never to return.
It isn't the very rare but glaring and evil evidence of sexual predators lurking on the outskirts of the Pine Curtain, it's the Modernism, the Liberalism infested in the minds of the Monks that lead many to believe that there are no punishments, in this life or the next, for their crimes. Indeed, the only punishment most are suffering are the diseases related to old age, very soft living and the starchy fare they consume in quantity in the Refectory.

Rot Visible from Ten Thousand Feet |
COLLEGEVILLE — Change is never easy, and come November, it’s going to get harder for some Catholics to celebrate Mass.
The implementation of the English translation of the third typical edition of the Roman Missal will be “the biggest single moment of change for Catholics who worship in English in the 40 years since the revisions of the liturgy which followed Vatican II,” according to a lecture last week to the Church Music Association of America by Monsignor Andrew Wadsworth.
“The Missal is basically the prayer book for Mass, with all of the texts that are said by the priest or congregation,” said the Rev. Anthony Ruff, associate professor of theology at St. John’s University and School of Theology/Seminary.

I'll also point out that I'm confident that most of the people commenting are rear-echelon, non-serving, failed mainstream journalist types who have no special knowledge of the Special Forces or the historical time period being discussed, the height of the Vietnam War just before Tet, when the demand for men and material was high.

Just a personal anecdote, a dear departed friend of mine was in a Special Forces unit "deployed" to Cambodia. He didn't talk much about his experiences there, save only to offer vague anecdotes related to our wargaming. He was a Medic by training, but there was no indication on his DD form that he was anything but a Paratrooper. His DD form described a 003 designation and that was It, no unit of assignment or even Fort Bragg, whether he was a B-Team guy or not I don't know, but he got to clear the scum off the water of a river to get some water out when he drank it, and talked about their unit's pet rat.
The Old Game: Rome Lets Itself be Extorted by the Left
The Mainz Cardinal may continue his subversive activities. by Katharina Faßschröder.
(kreuz.net) The President of the German Bishops Conference, Archbishop Robert Zolitsch of Freiburg, supports the proposals of the Theologian Pamphlets.
He told this to the Old Liberal Theolgoians of the University of Freiburg at a meeting of the theological faculty.
The double-strategy of the Old Liberal German Bishops is public.
Rome has advised distancing to the proposals of the Pamphlet.
Back around the opposite strategy has been pursued: One is using the announced dialog process, in order to warm up the decadent Pamphlet and to interpose it as a German special right.
Msgr Zollitsch is a strawman in this play.
His Grey Immanence
The Grey Imminence is Cardinal Karl Lehman from Mainz.
He is the hub of the conspiratorial shadow hierarchy.
The Old Liberal song and dance in the Church is ideologically exercised in the church paper of the Diocese of Mainz, 'Glauben und Leben'.
In the past there have been a series of articles "Break-up in the Promised Land". In this manner of play the Old Liberal breakaway theologians can disseminate their ideas from yesterday.
The names of the authors reads like a "who is who" of ecclesiastical decline:
- the Frankfurt religion pedagogue and pamphleteer, Bernd Trocholepscy (59).
- the former school director Dr. Willi Belz and honorary President of the Hessian supplier firm for abortion business "Donum vitae"
- the Offenbacher Pastor Kurt Sogns, who is a member of the anti-Church society, "Wir Sind Kirche" [we are church] and has approved homo-Masses for the Frankfurt hmosexual community.
- the former teacher Angelika Fromm (60), the founding member of the anti-Church society, "Wir Sind Kirche' and 'ACtion lila Stola' and one who promotes the counter-Evangelical priestly marriage and women priests.
- the rabid Mainzer, Fromm, "feels herself called by God, as one who will part the sea of fear and traditionalism of the Church to lead people to the promised land" -- or to another harbor.
In the Mainz church paper Frau From is described as a "formed deaconess without ordination".
The Deaconess as a Fire Axe
Already in 2001 Pope John Paul II informed the Bishops to stop the educational course for the preparation of women to the diaconate.
The memo was signed by then Cardinal Josef Ratzinger.
Actually in the Diocese of Mainz Cardinal Lehmann took a hostile posture.
He allowed the self-described "Deaconesses" to write in the media and supported them in the meantime, Lila-Stola-Ideologues in their efforts.
In September 2010 the Cardinal explained that the question of the Diaconate for women must proceed with "courage and openness", before one could discuss the ordination of married men to the priesthood.
In the spring he lanced, however, a willful CDU-Politician's open discussion about the abolition of celibacy.
To support a non-existing Diaconate for women is something that belongs to Bishop Franz-Josef Bodie von Osnabrück and Archbishop Robert Zollitsch von Freiburg.
Even the Carnival Society was Active
The strategy of the Old Liberal Mainz networker appears to have been endanged by the possible resignation by reason of age of Cardinal Lehmann.
The Cardinal made it known many times in the regional media that he would happily go on.
At the same time the media polished its coverage of his episcopal achievements, for the public eye.
The unpastoral Cardinal -- who rarely took time to care for his Diocese -- was presented inaccurately as a beloved popular Senior Pastor.
He worked for thirty years as a "People's Bishop" for his flock and has for this reason, irreplaceable, said the mysterious media bosses.
The Mainz Ordinariat organized even petitions for his retainder and sent the petition to Rome.
For this purpose, the Mainz Ordinariat even mobilized a Carnival Society and the Mainzer Fußballverein 05.
Even the market ladies in the Cathedral Square went around with the petition.
the stooge successor of Cardinal Lehmann in the German Bishops Conference has pointed to large sums of money which the Official Church transfers to Rome.
Rome has allowed itself to be extorted.
The Cardinal may now paper mache himself a separate church..

Another "Jesuit" Suspended for Abuse

After word first emerged from Jesuit circles last week, the move against Fr J-Glenn Murray has been announced over recent days in the various apostolates where he's served over 32 years of priesthood. Ordained for the Society's Maryland Province in 1979, Murray served for many years as worship director of the Cleveland diocese, and was most recently assigned to a parish in Washington.

Cardinal Kasper Denies Suggestions of Schism Brewing in Germany
The former Curial Cardinal considers the contention of Italian Vaticanista Tornielli about a threatened schism as a "hypothetical construction"
Bonn (kath.net/KAP) Cardinal Walter Kasper has rejected speculations about a threatened Church schism in Germany. Corresponding notions which appeared in "Focus" are also supposed to be in an alleged Vatican circulating dossier, which the long standing President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity, according to a report in the "Zeit" enclosure "Christ and World" this Tuesday, had described as "conspiracy theory" and "hypothetical constructions built up, combined with bits of information and other inadequacies."
The Cardinal explained the motives of the conspiracy theorists: "it seems that they want to breed mistrust and provoke a schism." The Munich news magazine had reported on Pentecost that there is an unofficial dossier circulating in the Vatican, which suggests that there is a schism in the Catholic Church in Germany. Behind this romantic current are hidden church societies, individuals from the German Bishops Conference, Catholic politicians and parts of the Jesuit Order.
The substantiation for this report is according to research from "Christ and World" a blog report by the mostly well-informed Vatican journalist of the paper "La Stampa", Andrea Tornielli. He reported on June 8th that some in the Vatican believe that in the foreground of the Papal Visit there will be a concentrated action of reformist forces in German Catholicism.
Kasper speaks thereon, that there is in his opinion no centrally controlled action of German Catholics for schism. The actions which the alleged dossier describe, whereabouts the open letter of Catholic politicians from January and the memorandum of Theologians in February were, according to the Cardinal, individual actions and not centrally coordinated. The Cardinal doesn't know of a collaboration which according to "Christ and World" has any direction from Vatican circles: "Who should that have been? I know no one here who would do such a thing."
Kasper understands with a view to the Catholic Church in Germany on the great interest for the Papal Visit in September. "There is a great, till now mostly silent majority, to whom one or the other critical questions are appealing, who otherwise are fed up with the other side and simply want to be Catholic," he said.

A "Miracle of the Sun" at Fatima After Beatification of John Paul II
Fatima (kath.net) Was there another "miracle of the sun" after the Beatification of John Paul II? This is the contention of at least some eyewitnesses, as kath.net has just learned. This 'wonder' is said to have happened immediately after the celebration of John Paul II's Beatification on the 1st of May. There was a rainbow cross formed around the sun. Thousands of pilgrims and residents of Fatima concur that they have seen it who were at the location. Even the Bishop of Fatima, Serafim de Sousa, has acknowledged the event, but an official statement has not been made.
In Portugal and Poland the world media have also reported it. Previously on the 13th of October 1917, a miracle of the sun was reported. This was witnessed by at least 30,000 people in Cova da Iria.
An eyewitness of the event of the 13th of May reported on this noteworthy occurrence. On kathTube some people witnessed unusual things in Fatima. The User "Radfee" wrote: We, my sister and I, stood about in the middle of the pilgrim square, near the barrier. With many pilgrims we had our attention on Holy Mass, which was happening on the altar, which was projected on a big screen. As from nothing, a murmur arose from the crowd, that suddenly drew our attention above to the sky. It was an indescribable moment. It was, as though everyone held their breath; it was for me, as if for a moment time stood still. Then a rousing applause broke from the crowd in joy and thanksgiving. Many wept with joy and astonishment. And, although the sun was powerfully blinding, it was hard for us to look back to the ground. We are true Westphalians, therefore are not quick to be taken in, and have always been skeptical of extraordinary occurrences.

Bishop McCormack Defends Life
This time when New Hampshire’s Catholic bishop got involved in a political issue, there was no outcry.
The last time he got involved, the GOP leadership in the New Hampshire House got hot under the collar.
This time the issue was HB 329, a bill from the Republican-controlled Legislature that requires a teen to notify her parents about her intention to get an abortion.
Bulgarian Municipality Moves to Restore Soviet Memorial Defaced by "Vandals"
The Forum is one of the 20th unions signed the declaration against the desecration of the monument. "We have today adopted a declaration in connection with the desecration of the monument to the Soviet Army. Tomorrow, we expect more creative and community organizations to join the declaration and other foundations and unions," Sharenkova said.
Asked how it influences on the image of our country, Sharenkova said: "It definitely has negative effect, because here it comes first for historical truth and memory, and an insult to a great army, which is recognized by Europe and worldwide as a liberator. It is not very good 22 years after the changes to go back to starting position. In 1993 Sofia Municipal Council had such debates, but the there was willing to move and to destroy the monument, but there was voting as well and then the City Council decided not to move the monument and now 20 years later it is happening again”.
Pope's Brother Challenges Old Liberals on Priestly Marriage and Women's Ordination
Germany. The Old Liberals are demanding "always holding to the same subjects, that have been long decided: the celibacy of priests, women's ordination". Msgr Georg Ratzinger, the brother of the Pope, criticized this in an interview with the news daily 'Neue Passauer Presse'. The Pope doesn't have the power to ordain women -- explained Prelate Ratzinger: "Why talk about it then? They always have to start with arguments that have been known for a long time, which many simply don't want to accept." On celibacy the Prelate said, that it "really has it's theological meaning." There are generally increasingly fewer marriages anyway, and then the priests should "all of a sudden marry". Prelate Ratzinger finds that "a bit curious". Priestly marriage would be violently opposed by faithful people: "That would be more destructive than constructive."

Catholic Vultures Circling and Waiting for a Meal
One articulate poster suggested that there was a monetary scheme behind the orchestration in this Kangaroo Court of Soviet Blogpinion in its attack on Father Corapi. Not surprisingly, the Anglespleen forum, self-righteous as always, loves to attack people, innocent people, dead people who can't defend themselves and so on, but in fact, most of the posters there are brutalized moral insects who try to savage people's reputations just for fun. How do others live with themselves, despite the high opinion they have of themselves, chattering like Harper Valley volunteers over the fence? It doesn't matter that Bishop Gracida stepped in to defend Father Corapi. Unmoved, the voracious army of blogtacular incendiaries moved on, irrespective of details, good sense and love. Is it all about the Benjamins? I was just following orders, eh?
It seemed like a good idea to formulate an enemies list:
It was the Eighties, I did what I had to do, you know, at least I'm not the Cankeress.
As bad as that was, at least I didn't abandon all good sense like Mark Sashay did and defend Cardinal Schonborn.
Then there are priest bloggers too. I know, let's make that good old appeal to people's egalitarianism and attempt to shame his defenders by accusing them of being the subject of a "cult of personality"? What's that all about and the Herpetologist of County Claire
Let us not forget the Deacon's Stench.
This list isn't finished. It will probably include Patrick Madrid, but hey, he's no big whoop.
Before you get indignant as you make off with your pieces of silver, or the sense of righteousness you feel at kicking someone around who you think is inferior to you, think about the cost of priests being falsely accused and what happens to them. Carol McKinley seems to be the only one who's thinking about that.

Bishop of Chur Being Lured into a Trap
An Old Liberal Church paper in the Diocese of Chur has frontally attacked the Diocesan Bishop. The good man has defended himself.
(kreuz.net) The press speaker of the Diocese of Chur is defending against allegations by the ‘Pfarreiblatts Urschweiz’.
The ‘Pfarreiblatts’ [Pastor's Paper] appears in the central Swiss area of the Diocese Chur in a mini-edition of about 17.000 copies.
It reported in its most recent edition about a privately organized celebration on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the installation of the Pastoral Consultants of the Diocese of Chur.
Despite their high spirits and the kindergarten freshness of their work, the Pastoral Consultants in Church and those associated with it are quickly becoming increasingly antagonistic to the Church.
The article insituated that the Bishop has been "aloof" to the occasion.
Reason: Msgr Huonder is said to have not participated, rather only appeared at the end of a planned "Vespers".
The Slander Takes Flight
The press speaker categorically declined to mention this portrayal in his response.
The event had been planned without the participation of the Bishop.
As he learned of it, he had made expressed his desire to participate in it.
The forty year old -- supposed--- "engagement of the laity" is valuable to him -- explained the press secretary.
Msgr Huonder would have gladly shown that with his wholehearted participation.
Actually the Senior Pastor received a rebuff: the organizers advised the Bishop not to be present for the entire day, because it is after all a, "celebration of laity".
The Bishop exceeded to the wishes of the self-important lay commanders.
Unlucky General Vicar
The General Vicar of the Diocese of Church tried his luck in any case.
He received an invitation and responded.
Actually the organizers recommended that he, with the Bishop to come "toward end of the event".
The General Vicar obeyed.

(kreuz.net, Regensburg) Society Bishop Richard Williamson (71) has separated himself from his council now just before his July 4th hearing. This is according to 'dpa'.
In April the Court of Regensburg fined hero-Bishop Williamson for an offense of Holocaust denial in muzzleland Germany for 10.000 Euros.
He is challenging German legal clauses, which according to International Law, are illegal.
The Fourth Attorney
Msgr Williamson is taking his fourth attorney before his appeal.
First of all, he separated himself from the Extreme Left, Green Attorney, Comrade Matthias Lossman.
This one resigned his brief in November 2010 in a mutual agreement.
After the Comrade, followed the race conscious attorney Wolfram Nahrath.
The Society of St. Pius X protested this choice. They threatened their Bishop with ouster in case he didn't fire this new attorney.
Thereupon Msgr Williamson engaged the Heilbron prosecutor Norbert Wingerter (72).
Msgr. Williamson has no separated himself from him.
This Brit doesn't Want to wear a German Muzzle
Wingerter explained that between himself and his brief there are different positions about the defense strategy.
The attorney sees good prospects for free speech, "if one were to argue to the court, that the expression for the camera of a Swedish television crew were not intended for broadcast in Germany".
Actually, Msgr Williamson repudiates this kind of argumentation: "He believes that one could put the Holocaust in doubt."
Wingerter sees this strategy as senseless before a German court.
As his successor, Wingerter has named a practicing honorary professor of the University of Marburg.
'Dpa' doesn't name this individual.
He doesn't want to give any information about the case.
The Court of Regensburg also is giving no ruling, if a delay to the appeal hearing will be permitted.

Liberal Bishop Cites Feminist Theologian
“With a wink to an approving audience”
San Jose Bishop Patrick McGrath received a standing ovation following his opening remarks at the annual convention of the Catholic Theological Society of America. Bishop McGrath joked about the theological competence of his fellow bishops and quoted the words of a feminist theologian whose latest book has drawn fire from the USCCB’s Committee on Doctrine.
The convention, held June 9-11 at the swank Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, drew more than 300 attendees from across the United States and around the world. Bishop McGrath welcomed the society to San Jose on the convention’s opening night.

Let the Crow Eating Begin: Bishop Defends the Great Corapi
Editor: A lot of people have been drawn in to the abuse craze and the abuse-hoax here by working wittingly or otherwise to perpetuate and substantiate stupidity of these uncanonical and therefore unjust zero tolerance polices. All you need is an accusation to suspend someone. So, some anonymous person makes a phone call, and all of a sudden, boom, Father McBrien is out of a job teaching at Notre Dame? Well, I'm sure that if Father McBrien were accused of abuse, the application of the procedure would be very different.
This whole thing is dishonest and people shouldn't be surprised when the special pleading the Bishops have been engaging in for the last forty-plus years comes back to haunt them.
Don't mean to pick too much on Mark Shea. He still thinks Father Corapi violated his vows, but at least he apologized. His vitriol has been pretty typical of a lot of people who should know better, like here. Anyhow, some people are going to eat their crow for being unreasonable and others aren't.
And speaking of dishonesty, "Catholic" Online can't even get the story straight. Father Corapi isn't leaving the Church. Last time we checked, Catholic Online was stealing an artist's work and not crediting them with it.
Here's a great response to clear up some of the "hoo-ha" in this "kerfluffle":
FIRST OF ALL LET ME ESTABLISH THAT I HAVE NOT SPOKEN WITH FATHER CORAPI.
The fact that he has chosen the nom de plume of The Black Sheep Dog is revealing: he cares for the flock of sheep he has been ministering to all these years, sheep that he well knows are of the Lord’s flock, not his.
As a suspended priest he cannot function publicly as a priest, but he can continue to evangelize as long as he does not present himself to the public as a priest.
Every baptized person is given the obligation of being a witness to the truth, of being an evangelizer. In Father Corapi’s case, the obligation is all the greater in view of the gift of the sacramental priesthood he has been given. Prevented (hopefully only temporarily) from exercising that priesthood in a public manner during his suspension, he is aware of his obligation to be a witness to the truth and to continue to evangelize. He evidently intends to do so until his suspension is lifted not as Father John Corapi but as The Black Sheep Dog.

Centenial of Decline
[The chronicle on line] Over the past century, both churches have seen a number of changes. Gone are the days of Mass being given in Latin, women being required to wear head coverings and the disappearance of the traditional Habit.
St. Frederic has also been home to several firsts including the first Lay ministers of Communion and Liturgy in 1970 and the opening of the first parochial school in Columbia County in 1928.
And in 1960, John F. Kennedy – the first Catholic president – visited during his presidential campaign. To mark these changes and to recognize the role of the church in the lives of its parishioners, St. Wenceslaus asked members to complete a family story questionnaire. From these a Parish Memory Book will be created and shared with the community.

Maestro Advocates Return to Rigour and Gregorian Chant
(kath.net/as) "Dramatic, despairing, meaningless". Maestro Don Pablo Colino isn't reading from a script when he describes the health of today's repetoir of ecclesiastical music - – even if he can be pressed to specify that "there is still a possiblity, to exponentiate a return from this dangerous tendency from below, in which one departs with Gregorian Chant, the study of musica sacra, and liturgical music." Msgr. Colino is known world wide as a musician and orchestra Director. With years of service in the Vatican he is directing the choir of the Roman Philharmonic at the present. He has an authority then about what religious music entails, which he has worked for years to "clean" of the film, which according to his lights, has endangered it.
"Pope Benedict XVI is the first who asked us about and believed in this task," he said. "Many times, the Pope encourged me to continue there the universal heritage of the musica sacra rooted in the truest liturgical tradition.
Maestro Colino, why is the musica sacra and the liturgy in a crisis?
Msgr. Colino: everything has been backwards since the 2nd Vatican Council, connected to a superficial flood of pseudo-renewals, which in almost all of our churches has done so much damage. It is enough at some liturgical celebrations to hear fearful guitar picking, deafening electrical organs, and uninspiring choirs. And the whole thing led by unqualified music directors. Even when there is an absence of encouraging exceptions, which - can be nurtured - there is a shimmer of hope for the future forming.
Would you name a couple of examples?
Msgr. Colino: recently in Terni, an interesting event in sacred music took place, and there are a lot of young choirs and many artistic groups specializing in liturgical music. It was beautiful and interesting to hear them.
Is there a "prescription" to restore the musica sacra?
Msgr. Colino: it is necessary to return to take a serious, difficult and painful study of the "scholae cantorum", in conservatories and also in the schools. The Musica Sacra is a universal heritage, one of the highest and everlasting art forms. And Italy is full of that which is the legacy of the greatest composers of liturgical music.
And how should the programs of schools of this type look?
Msgr. Colino: It is of foundational importance to return to the direct aqcueintance of the Gregorian Choral and also the education of musicians as well as refining orchestras and choir directors. Nothing happens without didactic rigour and without the knowledge of Gregorian, mother of sacra musica, yes I would even dare to say: of all music, even of the contemporary.© La Repubblica vom 16. Archbishop Promotes Socialist Wealth-Confiscation Schemes

The Canonization of Marx and Coercive Virtue |
Editor: It's a Bella Dodd alert. Some commentators think it's cute when Archbishops use their moral authority to promote Socialist wealth confiscation schemes and the mistaken idea that people being coerced to support government programs allegedly for poor relief, constitute charity. Perhaps Archbishop Nienstedt should consult St. Thomas on this issue rather than Karl Marx? Aquinas says:
It is not always through the perfect goodness of virtue that one obeys the law, but sometimes it is through fear of punishment, and sometimes from the mere dictate of reason, which is a kind of beginning of virtue.(8)Check out the Dick and Jane help out with the Community Organizing over on the Mark Shay blog by positing imaginary distinctions between different social justices as if painting the name "Catholic" on something changes its substance. Yet once again, the neo-Conservative Archbishop puts himself behind wealth redistribution and the expansion of the welfare state.
In any event, the Archbishop is lending a red hand on behalf of those nefarious political interests continuing to degrade the moral tenor of the nation.
Articulate and just criticisms are forthcoming from Senator David Hahn as they appear here at NPR.

Eucharistic Adoration is a Vatican Emphasis: Catholic News Consults Father McBrien
Why can't Father McBrien find a real job doing something else rather than the destructive and unhelpful job he's doing now as a "theologian".
[VNS] At the same time, however, some theologians object to adoration as outdated and unnecessary, and warn that it can lead to misunderstandings and undo decades of progress in educating lay Catholics on the meaning of the sacrament.
Monsignor Kevin W. Irwin, dean of the School of Theology and Religious Studies at the Catholic University of America, said Eucharistic adoration by the laity originated in the 13th century as a substitute for receiving Communion at Mass.
At the same time, he said, the church often encouraged a believer's sense of "personal unworthiness" to receive the sacrament -- which Catholics believe to be the body of Christ -- so many resorted to so-called "ocular communion" instead.
Eucharistic adoration was also used as a teaching tool to reaffirm the doctrine of the "real presence" of Christ in the Eucharist, said the Rev. Richard P. McBrien, a noted theologian at the University of Notre Dame.
For instance, McBrien said, devotion grew during the 16th- and 17th-century Counter-Reformation, in response to the arguments of some Protestant Reformers that the Eucharist was merely a symbol, not the actual body of Christ.
In the days when priests celebrated Mass in Latin with minimal participation by the congregation, the hymns and prayers associated with adoration gave lay Catholics an opportunity for public worship, Irwin said.
Liturgical reforms after Vatican II greatly increased the laity's participation at Mass, which Irwin said satisfied the "felt need for participation in public prayer." Irwin called that an "underlying reason" for the practice's decline.

Pontifical Commission Reports on Ancient Frescoes in Rome
June 16, 2011. (Romereprots.com) The Pontifical Commission for Sacred Archeology is the Vatican body responsible for the care of ancient cemeteries and other artifacts from the early Christian centuries. They recently unveiled this 3rd century hypogeum, or underground burial chamber, that belonged to the Aurelia family of Rome.
Raffaella Giuliani
Archeologist, Pontifical Commission for Sacred Archeology
“The paintings represent the lives of the Aureli, as we can see from the paintings they were a wealthy family that owned many houses, in the painting we can see the construction of these villas and gardens from imperial Rome. These scenes are inspired by the Homeric poems, in particular by the story of Odysseus.”
For the past 10 years, a team of archeologists has been restoring this hypogeum that dates back to the third century but was only discovered in 1919.
The Vatican and the team of archeologists say the restoration of this underground chamber has given some insights to the Aurelia family and the transition of paganism to Christianity.

Editor: Of course it's going to confirm what we've been saying all along. Still, we're not going to demur from pointing out that there were people who weren't willing to innocent till proven guilty on Father Corapi and give more credibility to the accusations than they deserved. Yes, a vindictive woman, imagine that, wanted to ruin Father Corapi's career and after that there was quite an outpouring of dreck assaulting his character from some of the less virile, less orthodox areas of the blogospear, and media complex, insinuations from certain quarters we're not going to forget: the network gone wrong, deacon's stench, the cankerous and crabby roads.

Saint Paul's Cathedral Restoration Complete
The steel frames have lined the building since renovation work started in 1996.
But with the £40million project finally complete, the public will today get an unobstructed view of Sir Christopher Wren’s masterpiece.
Restoration work has ‘transformed’ the interior, cathedral officials say, while more than 150,000 blocks of the white Portland stone have been cleaned on the west exterior wall.
Other work has included redesigning and landscaping the south gardens, restoration of the grand organ and cleaning the American Memorial Chapel, which was built in the 1950s to commemorate US forces who died in World War II.

Chinese Communist Party Celebrates Decades of Murder and Banditry
[USA Today] At a movie theater inside a central Beijing shopping mall, artist Jin Rui says he enjoyed the film and hoped it draws many Chinese, especially the younger generation. "Today, too many people care only about making money, but as Chinese, we all need some belief, not just materialism," he says.
"I've lived through many revolutions," says Jin, 58, whose father, a party member, was punished as a "rightist" in the late 1950s. "I don't care which party rules as long as they deliver a good social environment. The Communist Party is doing better and better these days," says Jin, who has never joined the party.
The film's 100-plus stars, including Chow Yun-fat and Andy Lau, proved the key attraction for several moviegoers. "I wanted to spot all the stars," admits Boris Zou, a Beijing film company employee.
To ensure his son, 14, and daughter, 6, know where power lies in China, construction company manager Han Jingming brought them to a "Red song" concert that rocked the Bird's Nest Olympic stadium in Beijing on Sunday night. "The Communist Party will continue to lead China, so I want my kids to understand its history and our revolution," explains Han, 40.

In Liturgy It's Only the Right of the Powerful
(kreuz.net) The German Bishops invite to dialog. They are, however, "not immediately dialog-ready" about the Old Mass.
Pastor Hendrick Jolie from the Diocese of Mainz said in the middle of this May on his website.
This is how he sees the Bishops' Offer of Dialog
There interest in the Old Mass is small -- cited Fr. Jolie the Bishops. That has a diverse number of causes said Father Jolie.
He says there's a "steadily growing indifference of many Christians for Faith and Liturgy".
Fr. Jolie sees a second cause in the "open secret that in many Seminaries, the interest in the Old Mass alone can be dangerous."
The clergyman knows seminarians who are hesitant to participate in the Old Rite, because they fear the consequences.
He cites a Seminarist with the words: "I just want to get ordained."
That cause Fr. Jolie to comment: "Is this how the Bishops see dialog?"
In the Diocese of Mainz there are priests who are open to the Old Liturgy, but are under pressure.
On that point he recalled the word of then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger from the year 2000:
"Whoever today is inclined to this Liturgy or participates in it, will be dealt with as an outsider; here all tolerance comes to an end."
Fr. Jolie put the question: "How can it be that in our Church where "Tolerance" has long been spoken of as the Superdogma, can such intolerance rule?"
Only the Right of the Strong
The clergyman is appealing to the consciences of the Old Liberal Bishops:
"Experience teaches that unresolved injustice in the Church can have fatal consequences."
Because: "Through silence, ignorance and the "right of the strong" solves no problems in the Kingdom of God."
Fr. Jolie recalled then that the Pope in 2007 had described the de facto prohibition against the Old Mass a "profound injustice".
Then he asked the question:
"Is it not indisputable, that on the one hand in our Church ecumenism is written of highly, while at the same time even Catholics, who are, very directly addressed and given permission from the Pope, are still punished with marginalization?"

German Philosohper Weighs in About the Truth
In Germany there is the notion that the saving flesh-and-blood Christendom can be reduced and reinterpreted to a contourless watered down Ideology.
(kreuz.net) "I think the Episcopal recommendation for a new round of discussion in the Church is a catastrophically wrong decision."
This is what Frankfurt philosopher Walter Hoeres (83) said today in an editorial for the 'Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung' in the regional portion of "Rhein-Main'.
Hoeres recalled that in Germany since the Council and the Synod of Wurzburg, there has been an uninterrupted attempt to make the faith "understandable" to our times:
"Since then, everything is debated in the subject area of the Church, which in fact has come to indicate that everything can be put to question" -- the philosopher broke it down.
Thereupon it has to be the case that even in questions of faith, as with all expressions, "there must be an absolute correspondence of form and content".
The philosopher explained this expression: "That means that one has the task, to explain those things which have been found by all times to be offensive and foolishness, really to express this as the Church has always done".
Hoeres gives an example:
"How should you explain the truth that Jesus is true God and Man or that at the Sacrifice of the Mass according to Catholic conviction that the bread and wine is transformed into the body and blood of Christ, without bringing a non-believer to offense?"

David Berger's Book Promoted by Fulda Diocese
The homosexually disturbed David Berger is officially cursing the official Church like one possessed. Actually he's tucked with her under cover. by Bonifaz Voigt.
![]() |
The Fulda Cathedral Bookshoppe sells Berger's Homo-book |
(kreuz.net) What the controversial ecclesiastical 'Weltbildverlag' isn't doing -- Bishop Heinz Josef Algermissen of Fulda completes.
In the Catholic book store in the shadows of the high Dome in Fulda there's the book by homo-swindler, David Berger, is on offer and overflowing on the showroom floor.
Berger is a homosexually disturbed person, who had taken his neo-Conservative friends for a year long ride as he led a double life.
He has betrayed his companions and patrons in this portrayal now under the title of his book "The Holy Glow".
That the Fulda Cathedral Book store promotes his homosexual propaganda is not a cause for concern.
Because last year Rotarian Bishop Algermissen announced that he would allow opposition to Church regulations and consecrate homosexually disturbed individuals to the priesthood.
In the meantime, the Cathedral in Fulda has taken place again with the blessing of four seminarians -- despite significant protests.
For that reason it is understandable and logical that the infamous Berger book is prized in the official bookstore of the Cathedral.

Moscow Patriarchate Grateful to Government for Stopping Homo-Parade
Responding to questions from Interfax-Religion on Monday, head of the Synodal Department for Church and Society Relations Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin said the authorities "quite politely prevented an instance of propaganda of homosexuality which could have been witnessed by children and teenagers who crowded the two venues of the action."
He expressed hope that in the future the authorities of Russia and Moscow in similar cases "will listen to the voice of their own people, the majority of whom do not accept the propaganda of homosexuality, instead of foreign pressure that was exerted before the action and continues now."

Vatican Excommunicates Patriotic Chinese Bishops
(Vatikan/Peking) At the request of numerous Chinese Faithful, and above all the Catholic underground Church, the Holy See has published a clarification that the unauthorized newly consecrated, regime-friendly Bishops of the People's Republic of China, as well as the Bishops who consecrated them, are excommunicated with all of the consequences that follow from that.
The explanation comes from the Papal Adviser for Legislative Texts.
The Holy See is pleading with the stricken Bishops:
-to make a public gesture of penitence
-that they do not celebrate Holy Mass or receive Holy Communion
-that they neither receive nor distribute the Sacraments
-that they give up the direction of their Dicoese.
These requirements are the "necessary medicine for healing", to make possible the resettling of the Catholic Church. After the receiving many uncustomary outcries, the Holy See has taken steps with this warning to clarify the confusing situation in the People's Republic of China. The Papal Adviser for Legislative Texts explained the reason for the proceedings as the illegal consecration by the Communist regime's Bishops without a Papal Mandate. Even though the punishment is affecting the relevant parties, there is still the possibility for the ecclesiastical punishments to be withdrawn and return to reconciliation with the Church.
The unauthorized consecrations occurred on 20. November 2010 in Chengde. The explanation was also urgent because of an announcement by the Communist Regime's willingness to conduct more unauthorized Episcopal Consecrations. The complete wording of the explanation was published in Osservatore Romano on the 11th of June 2011 some days before, after which the Chinese Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, Msgr Xaver Hon had taken an adverse position to the Holy See and Peking intermixing authority in the Episcopal Consecrations. He encouraged Chinese Bishops to have no fear, that the government proposals will receive a firm rebuttal.
The Papal Adviser clearly explained that the unauthorized Consecration of Bishops, that is to say without the approval of the Pope, represents a profound violation of the Church's Law. It is a "punishable act against Catholic teaching". The Adviser cited as well the Second Vatican Council as well as other Documents, in which he recalled that also concern the question of the Eastern Churches.
The Declaration is in any case very clear that the punishable act will be directed against the consecrated Bishops as well as those who offered the consecration. All those named are fall under the condemnation latae sententiae. This doesn't impose an expressed condemnation at the end of a canonical procedure. The excommunication itself will have happened automatically according to itself.
It is expressly mentioned in the declaration that Church Law (Canon 1324, Paragraph 3) "ameliorates" the circumstances if known (excepting for compulsion, ignorance …). Should such be given, the excommunication will not be automatic. This part of the declaration falls above all upon the Bishops standing in unity with Rome, who have participated in the unauthorized consecrations. Accordingly there were reports surrounding the event, that at least some of them were ordered by the State Police or abducted to force their participation. For that reason the Holy See is allowing some room to allow those participating to make the "necessary penance" and take steps, to deport this outrage from the world.
Each, who falls under Excommunication, "must" refrain from the following things:
1) celebrating Holy Mass or concelebrating or participating in any other liturgical event;
2) giving or receiving the Sacraments and Sacramentals;
3) participating in various functions and tasks of Church direction.
In other words: the bishop who received the unauthorized consecration and the Bishops, who participated in the unauthorized consecration or were present, may neither celebrate Holy Mass, nor dispense Sacraments or receive the same. Additionally the Bishops concerned may not participate in the direction or administration Episcopal office in any way.
Should they do any of the following things, they commit a Sacrilege.
The declaration does not hesitate to make clear that the strictures and punishments are "medicine", part of a healing process of sorrow, penance and return and with that to encourage healing and reconciliation.
