Auxiliary Bishop Responds to Sacrilegious Mass

Auxiliary Bishop Christopher James Coyne (53) von Indianapolis
© Pressefoto

Edit:   This blog entry which we found on the controversial German website kreuz.net, contains an interesting report.  It consists of an Auxiliary Bishop responding to what for many Catholics is the mind numbing reality, banality and carnality of the modern Liturgy.   He did have a discussion with the priest.  At least he's admitting there's a problem, but perhaps he'd be better advised to address some of the root causes of the problem as well.  He also has a real aversion to being angry.  Perhaps Bishops need to start getting angry about these things, lest people start to become convinced that they're not all that concerned about it.

This morning I attended Mass rather than concelebrated [Concelebration is such a drag.]M ass.  Earlier in the week I was unable to find a Saturday morning Mass anywhere in the area so I was pretty much going to have to miss Mass today.  But late last night on the internet I found a church abut a half an hour away that had an 8:00 AM Mass.  This was doubly good for me because I wanted to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation if the priest had time after Mass since it and been a few weeks since my last confession.  But it was a little late to make any arrangement for concelebration. [Ugh.]

I left around 7:15 AM and got there in plenty of time to spend some time preparing for Mass and, hopefully, the Sacrament of Reconciliation. [Might as well say, Penance] When Mass began, the priest, a guy about my age, came out and said, "Hello," [to the empty pews] and then proceeded with the Mass. The only problem was he had forgotten the Sign of the Cross. Well, maybe he was just a little distracted. I think we did the penetential rite but I'm not sure. There was no "Gloria" so I was beginning to think we weren't going to be celebrating the Feast of the Transfiguration since it hadn't been mentioned yet but eventually we got there when he "prayed" a spontaneous opening prayer that did mention the Transfiguration.

Things kind of went downhill from there.  I'll spare you the details. I will say I'm pretty sure it was still a valid Mass even though he changed the words [proper form, matter and intention] of the Eucharistic institution - a lot, not just a few.  There is a theological practice of the Church called "Ecclesia supplet" ("the Church provides") where if a priest inadvertently forgets some of the words of the ritual form or changes them, the "Church" recognizes the good faith of those gathered and their right to valid celebration of the sacraments and provides sacramental validity in the case of a human error or priestly malpractice.  [But this was deliberate changing of the words] This is done for the sake of the people of God and not as an excuse for the sloppy or 'creative' celebration of the priest or bishop.  Even though the priest went way over the the line in terms of his 'creativity' this morning, I think the intention of those us who came to Mass was to celebrate the Eucharist as the Church intends and so it was.

Bishop Fellay: The SSPX Will Not Recognize the Second Vatican Council

Edit: things are coming along. It should be obvious to most observers that the SSPX has been far more obedient to the Holy Father than most of the German Bishops.

There was a similar report on kathnet, but it seems to have disappeared.

Deutsche Bischöfe üben Druck auf den Papst aus:  The German Bishops are Pressuring the Pope

France.  The Society of St. Pius X will not recognize the Second Vatican Council.  Bishop Bernard Fellay said this at a brief address in the Northwest French city of Saint-Malo.  Msgr Fellay insists that the Faith would not be set in play. The Bishop criticized namely, Archbishop Robert Zollitsch of Freiburg and Bishop Gerhard Ludwig Müller of Regensburg.  Both are said to have intrigued against the Priestly ordinations of the Society.  Cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyos is supposed to have said by telephone, that the Society can have permission for the ordinations, if they ask for them.  In another telephone conversation Cardinal Castrillon said that the German Bishops are putting pressure on the Pope.

Austrian Schoolmarm Makes Prep-School Boys Dress Like Girls

Edit: This may be fodder for a future lawsuit.

Austria.  at the end of classes a female teacher at a Viennese Gymnasium [College Prep-School] desired that the boys make a report to find and switch to girl's clothing.  This was reported in the Austrian street magazine 'Krone'.  The female teacher wanted to show that one can change his sexuality.  An eleven year old boy said that he was "so enchanted" to wear his sister's clothes.  On the way to school several boys were ridiculed on public transportation.

Canning Victims Rub their Hands in Anticipation

Edit:  In England, those public schools had better watch out.  We understand that there are quite a few people in English society who received some really rough treatment in Public Schools.

Germany.  The Benedictine Abbey of ettal has paid some 700,000 Euros to a former Student, who was the alleged victim of psychological and physical violence.  This was reported by the German 'Katholische Nachricthtenagenntur'.  It was clear in the report that this horrendous sum will do the Monastery "damage".  It is completely unclear for which abuse the Monastery is paying.

Korean Catholics Object to Irish Gay Bar in New York

He said many among the large number of Korean-American Christians in Queens felt similarly but feared that if they spoke out they would be demonized by a liberal majority.

[New York Times] Molly Blooms, a Victorian-accented Irish bar in Sunnyside, Queens, recently raffled off a free same-sex wedding reception, with a three-hour open bar, a D.J., a photographer and a horse-drawn gilded carriage to deliver the winning couple to the festivities. The bar’s owner thought the idea would be good for business and for the largely working-class and immigrant neighborhood.

The owner of Molly Blooms, Ciaran Staunton, a heterosexual, said he wanted to support same-sex marriage as a civil rights issue.

Larry Yang, the Korean-American owner of a hardware store next door to the bar, said he opposed its promotion of same-sex marriage.
Ozier Muhammad/The New York Times
Janice Velten, left, and Patrice Pfirman, a couple for 24 years, won the Molly Blooms raffle. They plan to hold their wedding reception there in October.

But some in the community disagreed.

Neighbors said they would boycott the bar. Bloggers posted reports of past health violations there. Larry Yang, the Korean-American owner of a hardware store next door, said he resented such a public promotion of same-sex marriage. He said many among the large number of Korean-American Christians in Queens felt similarly but feared that if they spoke out they would be demonized by a liberal majority.
“If that horse-drawn carriage rides by my store, I will make sure my kids do not see it,” Mr. Yang, 45, said. “I am worried about what kind of message gay marriage is sending.”

Catholic Schools Produce Apostasy

Franfurt School Sage, Theodore Adorno
Edit: Speaking of Micheal Voris' indictment of Catholic formal and informal instruction, there's another report confirming what most people already know that Catholic institutions do not produce Catholics.  Since this situation is so pervasive, it becomes laughable to view it as anything but intentional and planned.

The Report says,

graduates even less likely to believe in moral absolutes, to respect the authority of the Catholic Church, to believe in the infallibily of Scripture or to condemn premarital sex.
There's no surprise there when you take into account the influence on American education has been entrusted to a pack of refugees from Germany with their neo-Marxist  efforts at demoralization as described by Yuri Bezmonov.

A group of people have come to dominate American education, and despite the abundance of information, no one is able to come to sensible solutions in order to defend themselves, their family and their country.  Demoralization takes from fifteen to twenty years to demoralize a nation.  Marxist-Leninist Ideology has  been pumped into the soft heads of three generations of students without being challenged.

Now we are stuck with these people as they are in positions of power.  To get rid of these people you need another twenty years to educate common sense people to act in favor of American society.

Mission of RC-TV? Nulla Salus Extra Ecclesiam

Edit:  This is really what's at the heart of a few professional Catholics' denunciations of Voris.  There's nothing substantial there.  It's this Dogma that the world and the Devil hate so much.

Germany: Over 85 Percent of German Catholics are Dead Letter

Now here comes the Old Liberal prescription:  More homosexual depravity, divorce, birth control and ecumenism as well as married priests will bring people into the Church in droves.

(kreuz.net) 87.4 of those German Catholics freed by the Pastoral Council, don't practice their religion.

This comes from statistics compiled on the website of the German Bishops' Conference.

The data collected is from 2010.

The Diocese of Erfurt is in the Lead

The most Catholic areas in Germany are in the former areas of Communist East Germany.

The reason for this exceptional situation is probably due to the fact that the Church there had been free of the Conciliar decadence, the capitalistic excess and the ecclesiastical sexual insanity.

Otherwise the Church in the old DDR was shut off from politics.  They had to stick by-- for good or evil --  their basic job description.

The German leader is the Diocese of Erfurt of allm things.   This is where the Apostate Martin Luther entered the Augustinian Order in 1505.

In the Diocese the number of practicing Catholics soars to an underwhelming  21.4 percent.

In Gorlitz and Dresden-Meissen 20.7 percent of Catholics take part in their ecclesiastical life.

In the West: Regensburg Leads

In West Germany the Diocese of Regensburg has the highest number of practicing Catholicsin the West  at 19.9 percent.

This Diocese serves as a natural victim so that the anti-Church meia bosses, in order to alienate the Faithful there from the Church by way of a media campaign.

In second place is the Diocese of  Eichstätt with 18.6 percent.

Then comes Fulda (16.9), Würzburg (16.0), Augsburg (15.9) und Passau (15.1).

The sad light of dusk is falling on the Diocese of Essen (9.5), Aachen (9.7) und Hildesheim (9.9).

Not much better are the Diocese of  Hamburg (10.3), Cologne (10.5) und Mainz (10.7).

Archbishop Zollitsch Says Protestants are "Church"

Dressed for Disobedience

Edit: Archbishop Zollitsch has already been challenged by the Papal Nuncio, but he's angling in the German anti-Catholic media for an agenda not unlike the one at work in Austria. His latest howler would confuse the utterly decadent and dying Protestant Communion in Germany, with the Catholic one, only because they think they're "Church".

The President of the German Bishops' Conference has vomited yet another of his sacrilegious theses regarding the reception of Communion for divorced.  He denies that there is a divide in German Catholicism.

(kreuz.net, Freiburg) "Benedict XVI is not the hardliner he is often presented as being" [Ain't that the truth.]

Archbishop Robert Zollitsch said this in Freiburg for an interview with the German newspaper 'Die Welt'.

Understanding for the Satanic Sleaze

Those who are against the Papal visit, the narcissistic human dreck of the Godless and the Gommorrhists have a "right to demonstrate" according to the Archbishop. He even hopes that the Satanic sleaze will respect "the person of the Pope". Among the personages will be found, for example, the fallen Catholic and homosexually disturbed David Berger, who denounced Benedict XVI in the past with his wild tirades.

Apostates Generally Deny the Division

The schismatic Archbishop denied any "evidence" for a schism in Germany.

There is "a Catholic bandwidth on many questions in positions that are at odds."

Yes, but that's apparently not a question of schism. The Archbishop only sees "various perspectives, and that's justifiable, and also self-evident".

Dogmatic Smoke Grenade

When Benedict XVI visits the Augustinian Cloister in Erfurt, where the Apostate Martin Luther lived, Msgr Zollitsch hopes for a a mandate with the Protestants, "to work out some of the things which still divide us".

As he has recalled already in the 'Augsburger Allgemeine" news, Pope John Paul II. encouraged Germany, regarding the reconsideration of alleged commonalities on the doctrine of Justification in 1980.

What is Church?

The Archbishop is acknowledging protestants, in contradiction to the clarification of the CDF 'Dominus Jesus' of August 2000, as "Church".

The Evangelical Church understands itself as Church -- so says Msgr Zollitsch. He respects that and doesn't want to fight about concepts.

At the same time the question wasn't spared, "who is it that belongs to this 'Church' that understands themselves in this way".

The Catholic Creed explains the belief that there is only one Church.

The Serious Solution is Turning Away from Divorce

The giving of Communion to the divorced is a "pastoral" consideration for the Archbishop.

He draws from that that there will be no concrete explanation from the Papal Visit. There is still "some analysis which has to take place. We are working on it."

Msgr Zollitsch wants to clarify the question "not shoving it to Saint-Nevers-Day, but we need the right amount of time, in order to seriously consider it."

Turkey: Reopening of Orthodox Seminary at Constantinople Soon

Edit: The Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reports, on the other hand, that it won't because the Patriarchate refuses to compromise on "various formulas in the Constitution".

Metropolitan Lambrinidnidis has been named the new Abbot of the Trinity Monastery on Princes' Island.

Constantinople (kath.net/KAP) In Constantinople the expectations are increasing that the Orthodox Seminary and the Theological University on the Princes' Island of Chalki will be opened soon.  This is the sense in with which the naming of the Metropolitan of Bursa, Elpidophoros Lambrinidis, as new Abbot of Trinity Monastery, is being interpreted.  +Lambridnidis will take over the direction of the Seminary and the University.

Patriarch Bartholomaios I  held an Agape after a feastday Liturgy at Holy Mary's in Souda where he had a short meeting with Minister President Recep T. Erdogan on August 31st.  It was there that the government chief announced the return of the real-estate taken away in 1936 related to Christian "pious Establishments".

At the Agape the Patriarch said, that he is to have expressed his "contentment, his happiness and his gratitude", but also, that the non-Muslim minorities "are in expectation of important steps".  Erdogan is said to have answered:  "This is only the beginning".

If Turkey is a just state, it must proceed in the realm of justice and "not illegality",  insisted the Ecumenical Patriarch and made an indirect comment, that isn't just to "please" the non-Muslim minorities, but rather it is an amends for a serious injustice.

Erdogan's new disposition in respect to Chalki was already in August of the year before expressed by the past government chief Bülent Arinc in Constantinople at a dinner with the Ecumenical Patriarch and the members of the Christian "pious Establishments".  Arinc stressed many times that no one in Turkey should ever feel themselves to be a second class citizen. "For me personally and so long as I am the chosen representative of the government, that  there will be education available at the the reopened Seminary," said Arinc at that time.  Actually the Constitutional Courts have narrowly closed the legal conditions for the possible opening.  He hopes still that the reopening of the Seminary and the University might be realized in the conditions of the existing laws "without substantial exceptions" ,  says the serving government chief.

The Seminary on the Island of Heybeliada/Chalki is in the Marmara Sea near Constantinople, and has been closed since 1971.  Because the Ecumenical Patriarchate can't educated its own clergy any more, the personnel situation which has lasted for over 1,700 years is becoming more and more precarious.

Berlin's Archbishop Understands Car Burners' Pain

"These acts are a cry for help: When people burn altar-tables, then it's a protest and an expression of their hopelessness.'
(kreuz.net) Besides the so-called Neonazis or a Traditionalist, you can be anything in Nazi-mad Germany.

Even car burners.

In an interview with the "Swabian Times" for the 3rd of September, Archbishop Rainer Woelki of Berlin found sympathetic words even for these last mentioned. Their acts are "a cry for help", answered the all-understanding one to the question, if whether the waves of leftist car burning in Berlin bode a new kind of terrorism. He continued: "when people burn cars, it is a protest and even an expression of their helplessness."

So much understanding for the non-believing

The Archbishop says he has developed, after only a week, a "deep understanding for the spiritual life of the overburdened, unbelieving people of the city of Berlin". He invites the motorists of the city, to consider the Bishops' words:

"We should go and ask ourselves sincerely in our hearts, if we were not overly quick in our harsh judgment of those hopless people, who cried out to us for help with their bbq lighters. How could we assume, they are simple criminals?

Let us ask the Lord for forgiveness!“

It was even a nice Protest

Archbishop Woelki's may not sit well with many of Berlin's motorists. The faithful Catholics of Berlin, however, are deeply grateful for his words. Because in the same sense that Msgr Woelki has certain understanding for this even, he would understand how those horrible altar-tables in Berlin churches could be ignited.

That would be a wonderful sight in the light of the coming Papal visit, to express "hopelessness", which burdens the modern Liturgy in Germany.

Every burned up altar-table would be a real cry for help for the faithful people, who can't go into the Church any more, to have to endure the self-satisfied Conciliar comic, who has planted himself in the place of the Holy of Hollies. [Many NO spaces have a "Presider's Chair" where the Eucharistic Lord should be.]

Neo-Conservative Bishop Makes Old Rite Priest Cathedral Rector

Editor: this man may have some say in who the next Bishop will be.  It's also a strong indicator for Bishop Franz-Peter Tebartz van Elst who's not been always the most traditional friendly of Bishops.

Germany, Limburg.  Bishop Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst has named Fr. Gereon Rehberg (55) as the new Cathedral Rector in the Cathedral Chapter.  This has just been reported by the Limburg Diocesan homepage.  The new Cathedral Rector has been since the Feast of the Assumption also the new Cathedral Pastor.  He is also the director of the Pastoral Area of Limburg.  He's been celebrating the Wednesday Mass in the Old Mass for years in Wiesbaden.

Cardinal Schönborn's Restaurant Mass

Editor:  Somebody told us that the campaign we've been participating in about Cardinal Schönborn would never catch on.  Well, at least Mundabor caught the ++Schönborn bug.

Actually, we very seldom have to explain to people we meet who are Catholic about the Danube Prelate.  Even Jimmy Akin's ten gallon hat probably knows by now.  Hey, beating up on Father Corapi takes a lot of energy. You can only cover "important" events, dontcha know.

You'd thought you'd heard everything.  Now it's a Restaurant Mass.  At least there's no polka band.   The Heurigen where this took is a place where you can drink wine made on the premises. It's got good food, but  they serve a tough wine to drink and a bit on the bitter side, rather like gall.  We've been to this Heurigen in a suburb of Vienna, near a Church where Franz Schubert played one of his beautiful Masses.

As the gloria.tv reports, this was done with Cardinal Schönborn's approval.

Austria.  On the Sunday before last Pastor Norbert Ritt von Grinzing in the Archdiocese of Vienna celebrated a new Mass in a restaurant.  This was according to the neo-Conservative videosite, 'gloria.tv'.  The divine service was part of a series under the title, Heuerigenmesse [Heurigen Mass].  Every fourth Sunday in the Summer, Father Ritt celebrates Sunday Mass in the patio of the restaurant. After the Mass, the priest left the consecrated Hosts in ciboria on the dinner table.  After a long while, a woman took the Hosts -- along with other utensils like the Mass book, baskets, the loud speaker -- in a plastic crate.  The crate was filled with the All Holy and all the other objects were piled in on top of It or next to It and it was dumped in the passenger seat of a car.

This new Mass was held at the Restaurant, despite the fact that there was a beautiful church conveniently two or three blocks away.

Liberal Irish Archbishop Continues His Quest for Church "Reform"

Edit: When he's not campaigning for  global warming hysteria, he's campaigning for moral panic, and the severing of the Irish Church from Rome.

He still doesn't have a Cardinal's hat, either.
After going to Wiki, there were all kinds of questionable statements from this man.   One of the more indicative points of view he suffers, is that he ignores that eighty percent of the cases of clerical abuse in the Catholic Church were homosexual in nature. The Archbishop basically covers his politically correct bases, from the delusional:

In 2005 Archbishop Martin, said that being gay should not prevent a man becoming a Catholic priest. "You don't write off a candidate for the priesthood simply because he is a gay man,
And the patently false:

But, he noted, "you cannot identify homosexuality with paedophilia". He said that paedophilia is "not the result of homosexuality, nor is it a result of celibacy"[2][Source

On Civil  Unions:

" He also said that while the Catholic Church favoured marriage, "it is not against other forms of intimacy" [Source]".

He is basically in the same boat as Cardinal Schönborn, "helping" with the priest shortage by promoting lay involvement, soft-peddling homosexuality if not pedaling for it.

But we warned two years ago that this Archbishop's crocodile tears were about another agenda.  Actually, we're pretty certain it has to do with an eventual Schism of the Irish Church, abetted by Enda Kenny and an assault on the Altar.

We won't deny that there's a cabal in the Vatican and other parts of the Church as he suggests, but it is more than obvious that Archbishop Kenny has more interest in forming a more independent, lay run, state sponsored establishment than he has in representing the truths of the Catholic Faith itself.  He'll continue to pretend to be the good guy, and the anti-Catholic press will continue to support him.

By RONALD QUINLAN and MAEVE SHEEHAN
Sunday September 04 2011

The Archbishop of Dublin Dr Diarmuid Martin has admitted that "a cabal" protecting clerical sex abusers may be operating at the highest levels in the Catholic Church.
Dr Martin said: "There may be a cabal in Cloyne. They may have friends in other parts of the Irish Church. They may have friends in Irish society. There may be friends in the Vatican."
Asked yesterday who was preventing the protection of children, he said: "The numbers that are involved in this are few. The damage that these people cause is horrendous. It's for all of us to see where they are, but in the long term I have to take the responsibility that in Dublin there are not cabals who reject our child protection

Cologne Liturgical Congress: Following Rubrics a Sign of Love

The bread baking materials for first communion instruction demonstrate how the approving Bishops think about the Eucharistic Celebration.
Photo From Facebook of Cologne's 14th Liturgical Congress

(kreuz.net, Herzogenrath) The catechetical materials for first Communion preparation are not suitable.

Pastor Guido Rodheudt of St. Gertrud in Herzogenrath described this during his lecture on the 14th Cologne 'Liturgical Congress' at the end of August from the article in the Catholic paper 'Tagespost'.

Baking Class Instead of First Communion Preparation

Fr. Rodeheudt complained that First Communion preparation should be more important than how bread is made.

Even worse, the children are hardly instructed that the consecrated Host is the true Body of the Lord. The participants in the congress discussed those responsible for this misunderstanding.

This led them to consider "theologians" and Ordinaries.

The Cathedrals Were Built for the Mass

When the Motu Proprio 'Summorum Pontificum' was published, said Fr. Rodheudt, the Old Mass has supposedly been let out of the "doghhouse'.

The Liturgy of All Times should not be limited to "reservations" for Traditionalists. They should be "on free hunting grounds", in the great Cathedrals and simply parish churches.

New Mass Hostile to Thought

The Augsburg theologian, Fr. Hofman explained that the New Eucharistic Celebration's vestments are often neglected. Fr. Bernward Denekie of the Society of St. Peter criticized the "strip mining in the visible area".

It has led many individuals to lose their faith in the Eucharist.

The Australian, Alcuin Reid of the French Diocese of Frejus-Toulon complained of a diversity -- it would probably be systematic -- of abuses of the rubrics in the New Mass. Truth to the rubrics is "nothing else than an act of love and loyalty to God himself."

Is Matussek Going to Abandon Communion in the Hand?

The Catholic journalist Matthias Matussek read from his book "The Catholic adventure" where he discusses Communion in the hand. Matussek commented on this passage at Herzogenrath: "Perhaps I will come over to Communion on the Tongue after this Congress."

Austrian Parish Liturgically Restored

The Graz Pastor Paul Scheichenberger reported that he has restored the Old Rite to days during the week. It is working like a gradual change of diet long and lasting. It states openly in the 'Tagespost' article what plots the Old Liberal Bishop Egon Kapellari of Graz-Seckau is planning to accomplish.

Marxist Priest Faces Excommunication

[La Stampa] Father Roy Bourgeois is a senior cleric belonging to the Maryknoll Missionaries, founded in 1911 in the United States for missionary activities. He spent twenty years of his life in Latin America and returned with a conviction: to put an end to U.S. support of Latin American military torturers trained in Georgia at the "School of the Americas" military center. That was in the nineties. Now that there is democracy in Latin America, Father Roy is fighting to get the U.S. government to admit its past responsibility, release the lists of military personnel trained there, and close the center permanently.

Around his "School of the Americas Watch" (SOA-Watch), a humanitarian organization for human rights, a broad consensus has solidified, and the protest march which takes place every November in Fort Bennings, Georgia at the gates of the former military school sees hundreds of demonstrators from across the United States, including monks and nuns from many different congregations. Every now and then he speaks out on more than just humanitarian issues, and so his latest position in favor of women priests has earned him a formal complaint and the start of the process for expulsion from his missionary congregation and excommunication. Measures a bit drastic for a "crime of opinion" - as one would say if there was a court case - motivated by the wide popularity of the individual and the resonance of his statements.

On the figure of Father Bourgeois, in addition to the many articles that have been written, there are also a few books, of which I will indicate just one. The SOA-Watch center has its headquarters in Washington and certainly will survive the eventual ecclesiastical sanction against its founder.

USCCB News Organ Celebrates Pro-Abort Labor Secretary

Edit: can it really be that the USCCB is not only completely useless and expensive but evil as well? This catholic flavored public official "sometimes attends Mass" and even has some religious iconography in her office. The Catholic Faith motivates her. Did it motivate her to get a 100% approval rating from NARAL when she was a congressperson?  Here's the blurb from Catholic World Report:
Puff piece on labor secretary omits mention of pro-abortion stances
US Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis (CNS)
A news brief on Catholic Culture highlights a recent article by Mark Zimmerman for Catholic News Service, the editorially and financially independent news media division of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The article in question – which will be running in diocesan newspapers all over the country in time for Labor Day – is a puff piece on US Labor Secretary Hilda Solis that focuses on her parents’ inspiring faith and tireless work ethic, as well as how Solis’ Catholic faith “motivates” her.

We get a description of the crucifix and statue of Mary Solis keeps in her office, and are told that she “sometimes attends Masses at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in downtown Washington.” There is also a detailed account of Solis’ many efforts on behalf of the poor, especially migrant workers, during her tenure as a congresswoman from California and then as labor secretary. Solis was the first woman to receive the prestigious John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award, “for her work on environmental justice issues,” the article states.
However, this glowing account of a Catholic public servant fails to mention a couple facts about her time in office, including her 100% pro-choice rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America (and a corresponding 0% rating from the National Right to Life Committee).

Phillipine Bishop Disparages World Youth Day

Taken from Tradition in Action's coverage of WYD:
Instead, at the Taking of Christ from the Cross, the youth were told that Christ shares the fate of the victims of AIDS who need sympathy and help. Not a single word of censure of homosexuality, the main cause of AIDS. Not a mention that AIDS is a punishment for this sin that cries to Heaven for God’s vengeance.
Edit:  You know what to expect when WYD comes around and you flip over to the Darth Vader of the Internet, Tradition in Action.  Tradition in Action is the Frank Burns of Catholicism, isn't it?  They're like the self-righteous guy who needs to be taught a lesson in fun before the end of a movie, like Captain von Trapp, the Mayor of the town in the Gnostic faux-arte film Chocolat or the Principal in Ferris Buller's Day Off.

Unsympathetic Comic Authority Figure

What happens, on the other hand, when the authority figure is a Bishop?

MANILA, Philippines—The World Youth Day pilgrimage should not be turned into a graduation tour   [Spring Break, we think] and shopping spree, a Catholic bishop is advising future participants.
Legazpi Bishop Joel Baylon said that while many delegates to the recent 26th WYD in Madrid participated in the event’s religious exercises, others spent their time sightseeing and shopping in the Spanish capital.

He urged future participants to focus more on their spiritual needs—a seemingly apt advice as the next WYD will be held in that hedonists’ paradise, Brazil.

“In general, a good number of our delegates have participated in the WYD wholeheartedly and endured the hectic schedule of the pilgrimage. But admittedly, there are some who chose to be comfortable rather than to sacrifice,” Baylon told CBCPNews, the news agency of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines.

Austrian Priests Call for Obedience to the Hierarchy

The Disobedience Faction has met its match: An Austrian Initiative is making its solidarity not with fallen Priests, who have betrayed their office, but with those Clergy, who serve truly in the vinyard.

(kreuz.net) A few days ago the reform project "Call to Obedience" made its way into the public.

The project includes both clerics and laity.

It is aimed at real Church reform which corresponds to the prerogatives of the Church and not the demands of the Church hostile media bosses.

The call understands itself as an answer to the Old Liberal "Call to Disobedience".

Its goal is to oppose the further leveling of the Church by Old Liberals.

That's part of the reason why the "Call to Disobedience" is being defended by hook and crook by the Church hostile media bosses. [They want to undermine the hierarchy and its authority]

The Initiator

The intiator of the "Call to Obedience" is Father Markus Doppelbauer (31) hailing from Austria.

He is a priest of the Archdiocese of Vaduz and a collaborator with the Catholic video-website 'gloria.tv'.

His "Call to Holiness" consists, in that it is similar to the Disobedience Pamphlet, in an introduction and seven announcements.

Old Liberal Resistance to the Reforms

In the introduction is the good-willed explanation, that the Pope and the Roman Curia has expended great effort to renew ecclesiastical life in the decadent nations of the West.

Actually: "They meet with much resistance to those proposals for reform."

The "Call to Obedience" asks for the support of the Pope and his collaborators for that very reason.

Freedom of Speech to Lie?

The "Call to Obedience" understands itself as the direct antithesis to the rebellion of the Austrian secular priests.

In their rebel document, for example, is the first point: "We will speak about a petition  for Church reform in the future in every divine service. We take the Bible seriously: Ask and you will receive. Freedom of speech means something before God."

The "Call to Obedience" offers: "We will speak of offering in future divine services and in personal prayer, a request for authentic reform of the Church."

This reform should work against the present lassitude and renew the fire of the Holy Ghost and the devotion of the Church:

"We take the Scriptures seriously:  Ask, and you will receive."

Before God, the "freedom of speech, which speaks the truth" is valued.

Holy Communion For Every Tom, Dick and Harry

The disobedient plead for the distribution of Holy Communion to every Tom, Dick and Harry.  "Call to Obedience" is completely against this:

"We will endeavor that the Faithful of good will are carefully prepared for the reception of Holy Communion."

Without the reception of Communion being only an exterior and empty gesture: "Nothing good can be expected of one who is not prepared to receive Holy Communion."

Open to Neighbors

Against the "priestless Eucharistic celebrations" proposed by the disobedent ones, the "Call to Obedience" is offering flexible parishes which are open to their neighborhoods:

"That is a visible expression, therefore, that the Church is greater than my small community."

The Old Liberal demand for qualifications and training for lay ministers is counteracted by the "Call to Obedience" with the expression:

"We will show great appreciation for office of the Priest, the work of catechists and theologically educated Laity."

But: "The word of God can only be credibly preached, when the laity work together with the priest, and not against them."

"We don't Need any More Carreerists"

The "Call to Obedience" rejects the Old Liberal call for new ecclesiastical offices:

"We are going to firmly insist that no new hierarchical levels and presiders will be introduced with their own titles and conceits into the Parish."

Because:  "We don't need any more careerists, rather pious collaboration which serves the Gospel and not self-gratification.

The "Call to Obedience" will not be diverted from the Church's mission by discussions of ecclesiastical politics and career dreams.

Solidarity with the Truth

The Old Liberal "Call to Disobedience" ends with a homage of the fallen priests, who have betrayed their office and their Church.

One the other hand, the "Call to Obedience" declared:

We see ourselves as being in solidarity with priests who are trying to remain true to their office and  who work against contrary winds in their work.

As of present counting the Call has 1632  signatures, of which there are about 150 priests, deacons and religious.

SSPX Locked Out in Amiens: Orthodox Embraced

Why Doesn't the Society Get Special Treatment?

Orthodox Divine Liturgy in Amiens Cathedral

He is a former seminarian and a fallen Catholic.  But he will be allowed to celebrate in the Bishop's Church anyway.

(kreuz.net) On the 7th of July in the Cathedral of Amiens, an Orthodox Liturgy took place.

This was reported by the website of the Orthodox Community in France.

Amiens is a Diocesan City with 136,000 inhabitants. It is located 130km  north of Paris.

A Liturgy like the one the Old Liberals have Forbidden

The Liturgy took place on the Orthodox Feast of the Nativity of John the Baptists.

You will find the head of the Saint in the Cathedral of Amiens.

As it was reported, the women appeared with veiled heads.

The Liturgy was also, as is expected, facing in the direction of the Lord.

The Super Table [Cramner Table] was rejected by the Orthodox.

The main celebrant was the 36 year old Orthodox Bishop Nestor [Sirotenko] of Chersonèse.

He is responsible for the communities of the Moscow Patriarchate in France, Switzerland and in Portugal.

The Bishop was assisted by the White Russian, Parisian Archbishop Gabriel [de Wilder] of Comane and by Bishop Theodose [Ivachtchenko] of Seattle.

The Orthodox Archbishop Gabriel de Wilder comes from the Netherlands.

He is a fallent Catholic and former almnus of a Catholic Seminary.

The Society of St. Pius  can Wait Outside

Bishop Jean-Luc Bouilleret (57) of Amiens is more inclined to Orthodox than to Catholics.

For the community of the Society of Pius X in Amiens has been on the street for over three years since the loss of their chapel.

The request of the Traditionalists for a church service location has been rejected.

The Bishop gladly describes himself as open to the world.

In the past he has greeted Muslims  in the vestibule of his Cathedral on many occasions.

The Society of Pius X, on the other hand, have to celebrate Mass in a converted shed, although the city has numerous churches standing empty.

Indian Catholic Bishops Conference Want Larger Families

Edit: In light of the persecutions, it's certainly warranted.  India is the last frontier and Western Catholics might consider reallocating resources to India rather than blowing them on bad investments at local parishes with the Modernism, the Liturgical Abuses, the Feminism and so forth.
[The Pioneer] Worried over the steady fall in the growth of Christian population in the State, parishes in Kerala have started giving incentives for Catholics to have larger families even when the Central and State governments do not want parents to beget more than two children.

St Vincent De Paul Forane Church, a parish church in Wayanad district, is offering fixed rate deposits of Rs 10,000 in the name of the fifth child born to a Catholic family. A Catholic News Agency report said the parish church had issued deposits to two families, according to church vicar Fr Jose Kallarackal. Part of the Sunday collection is set aside for such deposits, it says.

The programme, launched in mid-August, is being executed with assistance from Sion Prolife Movement. Its regional coordinator Salu Mecheril is quoted as saying that the campaign’s popularity is increasing and that a second parish is preparing to adopt the same plan. He said efforts were on to spread the campaign to all parishes in the Wayanad’s Mananthavady diocese.

German Nuncio Contradicts Liberal President of Bishops' Council

The President of the German Bishops Conference expects that there will be a change with respect to the manner remarried divorced people are dealt with -- Nuncio Périsset: There's no such consideration.
Berlin (kath.net/KAP) The Apostolic Nuncio in Germany, Jean-Claude Périsset, has warned against overly high expectations about reforms in the Catholic Church. As is the case with the question of remarried people who are divorced "the teaching of the Church is clear" and "there is no such consideration", aid the representative of the Holy Father in Berlin on Friday to questions from the German Catholic News Agency KNA. The reason was a well attended interview with Archbishop Robert Zollitsch with the Hamburg "Zeit".

There the President of the German Bishops Conference said he expected reforms with respet to divorced people who remarry. According to current Catholic teaching people who are married, who remarry after divorcing, are not permitted to receive Holy Communion. If there could have been an exception, it would have been extolled for years. +Zollitsch tried to explain that it has to do with a "question of mercy" and that he expects a change in his lifetime. +Périsset weighed against this, insisting that not participating in Communion does not mean being shut out of the Church. "The mercy of God knows a diversity of ways", explained the Nuncio. It is a question of inner fidelity, after the breaking of marriage promises and even with bearing the pain. There are in some cases the possibility to evaluate the validity of marriage.

Serious Death Threat Against Cardinal Bertone

Editor: the author of the letter is angry about +Bertone's appointments... Letter writer is clearly well informted about the Roman Curia
Rome (kath.net/KAP) Cardinal Secretary Tarcicio Bertone may have received an anonymous murder threat. In the past days a letter received by the Secretary of State, which began with an advertisement for burial, was reported by the weekly in its most recent edition (Thursday). The Cardinal Secretary has sent the letter in the meantime to the Vatican Police, which has begun to direct a manhunt. The threat is, in the report by "Panorama" clothed in a citation from Don Bosco, the founder of the Salesian Order, to which ++Bertone belongs. The sender is clearly very well informed about the goings on in the Roman Curia, writes the newspaper. The author reproaches ++Bertone for his personnel decisions which apparently are the result of personal sympathies. The letter sender is especially incensed about the promotion of Arcbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, the outgoing director of the Governorate of the Vatican State. He alludes especially to the appointment of +Vignano as Apostolic Nuncio to Washington. Link to kath.net...

Bishop of Linz: Obedience and Faith are Inseparable

Editor :This is one of the worst Diocese in Austria. It was the one where the conservative Father Wagner was heckled and harassed by Liberals not to receive his Mitre.

Ludwig Schwarz in the Linz Church Times: We also have to think on that old saying of the Church: 'Ubi Petrus, ibi ecclesia' -- if there are those who expect to be priests, they should expect to be obedient.
Linz (kath.net/KAP) The Linz Diocesan Bishop Ludwig Schwarz has underlined for the "Call to Disobedience" of the Pastors' Initiative that there is a connection between Faith and obedience. "If we look at Holy Scripture, we see from Abraham to the Mother of God, how inseparably Faith is bound to to obedience.

In addition it is also valid that the unbelief is founded in disobedience, as also is always announced," wrote the Bishop in a commentary on the current edition of the "Linz Church Times". Horizontal conflicts in the Church are "often the beginning of separations and in the consequence of countless estrangements from jealousies and straining after validation", continued Schwarz. "We are also called to think on that old saying of the Church: 'Ubi Petrus, ibi ecclesia' (Wherever Peter is, there is the Church)", recalled the Bishop of Linz on the function of the Pope's service to unity.

+Schwarz cited additionally from a sermon of Pope Benedict XVI, at World Youth Day in Madrid. At a Mass with a thousand seminarians Benedict XVI said that only those who set forth on the path to the priesthood, when the candidate is secure in his conviction and is prepared to be obedient. "Those may cross on the way to the priesthood, who are convinced that God has called them to be His servant, and that they are going to act with complete conviction and obedience to the wisdom of the Church."

Russia to Introduce Religious Instruction

Current Education Minister: Russia Plans the introduction of Religious Education and ethical instruction in all schools. Religious Instruction was abolished by the Communist government after the October Revolution in 1917.

One Thing He Won't Jettison is His Faith

Sardonic but alive

Gibson and his wife, Robyn settled their divorce in on August 30th. They reunited in August at Malibu where they arrived separately on the eighth for the tenth birthday party for the two Siamese twins from Honduras whom they were able to help and have miraculously survived thanks to the skill of surgeons and God's will. The twins were joined at the head.

Despite his father Hutton Gibson's attempt to separate Gibson's marriage by way of faux annulment in some kind of ad hoc lay tribunal, he is cited from USA Today, where Gibson said the following to People:

"My wife was really far more involved than I was in the past, but we're both still involved."

Still involved? Maybe a slip of the tongue or is it Mel's hard-to-kill Catholic Faith at work on his conscience? Anyway, he's still wearing his Miraculous Medal. And now he's planning on doing an action film with Bruce Willis while he continues to work on his Viking Film. Hopefully that project isn't dead.

He's been promising to do the Battle of Vienna Wood for a number of years. Hopefully, when he's finished satisfying the needs of Hollyweird, perhaps he'll get a tug from that gossamer connection with the Catholic Church he's been nurturing since his media fall and make some Catholic films that drink in deep from the well of Christendom.

Freemasons Blocked From Church

Italy. From the 21th to the 26th of August the "Grand Lodge of Italy" and the "Grand Orient" have organized an event in the 3,000 population city of San Leo near the Adriatic. On the 20th of August the Bishop Luigi Negri of San Marino-Montefeltro, had published a pastoral letter in his Diocese which was read against the Freemasons. At the same time, the Bishop made clear that the Catholic religion is incompatible with Freemasonry. These live for their antagonism to the Church and desire Its destruction. The pastor of the village, Father Andrea Bosio, ordered that during the event that all houses of God in the city will be closed outside of Mass times. He explained to the Italian media that normally it wouldn't be justified during the day. Bishop Negri has supported Father Bosio's precautions.

New USA Nuncio Replaced by Someone Close to Cardinal Burke

Edit: We were all over this in July. Move over libs, there should be some better episcopal appointments and faster responses to Liturgical abuses. Oh yeah.

Editor: his slot in the Governorate of the Vatican will be taken up by someone who's close to Cardinal Burke, Msgr Sciacca, a judge in the Roman Rota. Understanding that this is an earlier release and that some of the other blogs were reticent about Nuncio Sambi's replacement, Katholisches sounded certain about it.

[Washington from July 13] Curial Bishop Carlo Maria Viganò the Secretary of the Governorate Council of Vatican City, will be the new Apostolic Nuncio of the United States of America. The present ambassador to Washington, Archbishop Pietro Sambi will be recalled back to Rome and undertake a new leading role in the Roman Curia.

The Curial Bishop has been leading a restrictive organizational reform for various areas of the Curia over the past two years. That has not made him many friends. In the long run it involved friction with the Secretary of State, so the current personnel changes are intended to bring peace again for all sides. The role of the Papal Ambassador in Washington is as much a step up in rank and is also an important as well as sensitive position.

The successor as number two of the Governatorial Advisor will be canon lawyer, Msgr Giuseppe Sciacca, who is at present judge of the Roman Rota. Of him it is said that he also has earned the trust and praise of both the Holy Father and the Cardinal Secretary [+Burke].

Archbishop Viganò would be the third Apostolic Nuncio in the United States of America and only the fifth representative from the Holy See. It was first under President Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II that in 1984 full diplomatic relations were established between the Holy See and the United States. In the same year the USA sent William Wilson as its first ambassador to the Holy See in Rome. Since 2009, Miguel Diaz who was appointed by President Obama has occupied this post.

In the USA there is a longstanding opposition against diplomatic relations. At first in 1893 the first contact at this level was established. The representatives of the Holy See had however only the rank of apostolic delegates.

Liberal Press Continues to Delight in Austrian Dissidents' Rebellion

Edit: Ho-hum. Most Austrians don't care about this sort of thing. A lot of times, ecclesiastical Liberals lament that people aren't drawn to the Catholic Church because of the conventions and dogmas it's been enslaved to. However, in the half-century or so since Liberals have been at the helm, and had every opportunity to put a different face on religion, some say even alter it so it's unrecognizeable as religion, there has been a catastrophic drain of people and resources from the pews every Sunday and an almost wholesale abandonment of the Church in the West.

It's hard to see how a very small tribe of ecclesiastical Liberals with the same ideas that emptied the Church in the first place, are going to take many people with them into their desacralized world without revelation, without beauty and devoid of love.

People, and that includes Austrians, are a lot smarter than that. Most Austrians could care less, despite the media atention it's gotten and the various Austrian Bishops who've spoken in favor of it -- much to their disgrace -- of this Call to Disobedience.

Here's the Tablet, getting things wrong as it usually does:

Austrian abbots say Schönborn cannot stop schism

1 September 2011
The highly influential Austrian abbots said this week that talk of schism in the Austrian Church could not be damped down, nor the current conflict resolved, by a meeting between the Archbishop of Vienna Cardinal Christoph Schonbörn and representatives of dissident priests. The Church has been in turmoil since the more than 300 priests of the Austrian Priests' Initiative called for disobedience on matters such as priestly celibacy and communion for remarried divorcees. Abbot Martin Felhofer of Schlägl Abbey said: "This can no longer be solved by the cardinal alone. Everyone - bishops, abbots, Religious and representatives of the Austrian Priests' Initiative - must sit down and the discuss the problems together."

Wordly Nobel Laureate Praises the Church and the Pope

Now there are Pope Books Which Don't Make one Yawn.

The Church must not effect an internal democracy, in order to qualify as an integral part of a so-called Democracy.

(kreuz.net) The socially liberal Peruvian Nobel Laureate, Mario Vargas Llosa (75) has humanly and morally gone to the dogs.
Mario Vargas Llosa

He lives in concubinage, is Godless, defends the violence of abortion and the murderous abortifacient pill.

He knows about as much about legislating as the whale knows about ice skating.

However, there has been a brief flash of light in the darkness of his soul.

This is according to the Church-hate journalist Paul Ingendaay (50) yesterday in the 'Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung'.

Tight lipped and grumpy

Vargas Llosa had "enjoyed" the Madrid Pope Visit.

He found that so many happy, charming people singing and dancing to celebrate the Pope was beautiful.

The writer commented on the Pope's visit in his regular editorial for the Spanish Church-hate Newspaper, 'El Pais'.

He is to have "this effect on "the tight-lipped, grumpy Spanish clergy" -- said the poisonous Ingendaay with an unqualified hatred which did an injustice to Vargas Llosa.

One should rework Ingendaay's formulation on the tongue:

"He surely didn't have much effect on the tight-lipped, grumpy Spanish Rabbis." How does that sound coming from the mouth of a German?

That's what the Church is there for -- at least for Vargaas Llosa

Vargas Llosa described how hate-demonstrators and woman haters in Madrid threw condoms at some girls praying in public.

The Church has a moral panoply, said Vargas Llosa, which is even for those, who do not follow Her teachings.

She offers an ethical measuring stick in times where lust, shameless egoism and corruption dominates the public sphere.

That is exactly why the Church is there.

Science and Culture have Failed

The Catholic Church must not effect an inner Democracy, in order to qualify as an integral part of the --- so-called --- democracy, wrote the writer.

A democratic Church is in any event only "a dream".

The Church as an authoritarian, not uncongenial institution, strengthens the commonwealth whose worldly epistemic effects like Science or Culture are proven to be worthless without it.

So long as the Church grasps at no political power and the political power does not constrain the Church while maintaining its neutrality, religion is not only allowable in a Democratic society, but it's indispensable.

The Pope has convinced him to have been, "possibly the most educated and intelligent Pope, which the Church has had in a very long time."

Vargas Llosa has read a few of the Pope's books, without yawning.

American Catholic Unviersities Theologically Unsustainable

Edit: they're good errand boys and girls for "hope and change", but when it comes to presenting the Church's actual teaching, well, you just have to laugh at it, that's all.

Again we say: rather than promoting an agenda to determine how everyone else's resources are allocated, why not do what you were originally commissioned to do in the first place?

SUSTAINABILITY AND CATHOLIC HIGHER EDUCATION:
A TOOLKIT FOR MISSION INTEGRATION
WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 29, 2011)—As Catholic colleges and universities
across the country begin a new school year, eight national Catholic organizations
are publishing and promoting an exciting new resource, Sustainability and
Catholic Higher Education: A Toolkit for Mission Integration. This new
resource will help schools strengthen ongoing commitments to live out Catholic
mission and “cultivate and care for” (Genesis 2:15) God’s good gift of Creation
through mission-based sustainability.

The Toolkit is being co-sponsored by the Catholic Coalition on Climate Change
(www.catholicclimatecovenant.org), the Association of Catholic Colleges and
Universities(www.accunet.org), the Association of Jesuit Colleges and
Universities (www.ajcunet.edu), the Association of Franciscan Colleges and

of College and University Presidents (www.ialu.net), Catholic Relief Services
College (www.crscollege.org), the Catholic Campus Ministry Association
(www.ccmanet.org) and the National Catholic Student Coalition
(www.catholicstudent.org).
These organizations hope that Catholic colleges and universities will use the Toolkit to strengthen Catholic mission and publicly commit themselves to

Will the Diocese of Aachen be Driven to Use Force?

Many faithful have gathered themselves around these two Carmelites in Zweifall.  They won't leave the field without a battle.

(kreuz.net) The sword of Damocles of forced expulsion hangs over the head of the two Carmelites of Zweifall.

This was reported in the German boulevard magazine 'Bild' on Monday.

Since their case has become known, Sister Regina(60) and Sister Katharina (40), have received a great sympathetic demonstration.

The Cloister which the two industrious Alsace Nunus occupy about 4.000 cubic meters has been abolished since six years ago by official Diocesan mandate.

The Diocese of Aachen would like to close the Carmel and sell it.

Actually, the Nuns don't need anyone's help. They earn their keep with their host bakery.

By a petition of the Diocese, the Aachen court has assembled an emergency board for the non-Profit association of the Carmel.

The goal: It should dissolve the association. Then the Cloister and the Land will fall to the Diocese.

The two Nuns will defend themselves with tooth and nail:

"I won't go freely", explained Sister Regina to 'Bild': "The Cops are going to have to drag me out of here."

And: "the men in the village stand behind us, will even fight with us, if it's going to get tough."

It's clear to Sister: "If we have to leave the Cloister, it will be as if Jesus had been put a second time on the Cross."

A speaker of the Diocese of Aachen is confident in the members of the Emergency Board. It has dealt with two other Carmlites from two other Cloisters:

"Both nuns in the Emergency Board will decide now, how it will proceed -- and what will be the fate of the two Nuns in Zweifall."

Ugly Statue of Pope John Paul II Pseudo-Corrected

The Italian Media Gushes Over Scrap Metal "Art" Piece
Editor: you probably thought this thing was going to be taken down and sold for scrap, but no.  Despite worldwide contempt for this work, there will only be some minor alterations to it and it will stand in place where drunks can build fires in its hollows and perhaps share some schnapps on their drinking binges.  Hopefully, there will be a needle exchange nearby as well to complete the sense of urban decline and hopelessness.

Italy. The artist Oliviero Rainaldi, who designed the hollow statue of John Paul II outside the Roman Terminal, is ready to make small alterations. This was reported earlier by Roman news agency, 'Ansa". Rainaldi is a member of the Papal Cultural Council. He wants to execute "minimal" improvements to the neck and head.

Elderly Vienna Radicals' Call to Disobedience Met With Indifference in Cyberpace

Editor: Despite what the constant media barrage in favor of the Church hostile formulations of a decrepit band of spiritual non-entities, internet traffic reveals a different story. Hardly anyone goes to their official website, while the conservative counterparts receive much more attention from "the people".

Austria. The website of the 'Pastors' Initiative' of the Viennese priest Helmut Schüller gets hardly any traffic. That was noticed by the "Little Private Blog" 'Predigtgarten.blogspot.com'. Since 8 December 2006, the site of the liberal and disobedient 'pfarrer-intiative.at' -- despite unreserved support of the media bosses -- has only received something short of 75,000 visitors. On the other hand the 'Predigtgarten' has received five hundred thousand hits in a much shorter time. The Preaching Gardener continues: "Are so many for, without really knowing the content of the Schüllerian demands?"

Murder or Dogma, Lord Archbishop Woelki?

Edit: Berlin's new Bishop has some difficulties with Humanae Vitae.

Whoever is unclear about the effect of the anti-baby-pill, can be informed by 'Bayer Leverkusen'. by Markus Miller

(kreuz.net) The birth control and abortion industry have succeeded in their work.

Their ideology is hammered so deeply into the heads of people, that even its babblings can be heard from people who should know better.

At the request of the propaganda sheets of the abortion lobby, the Berlin news 'taz', Archbishop Rainer Maria Woelki said briefly:

"The prohibition against the pill is not a Dogma."

The False Prophet Father Karl Rahner

Msgr. Woelki has already publicly cited the left-Liberal Theologian, Karl Rahner († 1984).

This one was interviewed on September 1968 by the politically left, kiosk magazine 'Der Spiegel".

At that point Father Rahner also said that the prohibition against the pill through the encyclical 'Humanae Vitae' of Paul VI. († 1978) was only provisional and reformable.

With his dampening formulation allows Msgr Woelki to give the impression, as if the subject of the pill is still awaiting the last word to be spoken, and that the prohibition need not be taken seriously.

What must the youth make of this right now?

Implantation Will be Prevented

Let's turn from theological classifications and go to the website of the firm "Bayer" from its HQ in Rhenish Leverkusen.

This company is one of the largest participants in the money grubbing contraception and abortion industry worldwide.

It boasts the slam dunk effectiveness of its contraceptive pills:

"They generate alterations in the endometrial hyperplasia. So even in the unlikely event that an egg is fertilized and released, its implantation is prevented."

From Ten to Twenty Percent

As Archbishop Woelki knows, life begins at conception.

Children aren't just killed by the "morning after" and abortion pill.

Even the well-known anti-baby-pill kills a defenseless child if the contraceptive effect of the pill fails.

In the "improbable event" that the pill fails in preventing the release of the egg, but whose implantation is not subsequently prevented, occurs according to the estimates of experts in ten to twenty percent of the monthly cycles.

Taking a contraceptive pill over a time period of a year can result then in an average of about one to two abortions in the early stages of pregnancy.

PHILADELPHIA, PA: Judge Tosses out Anglo-Catholic Priest and Two Vestry in Parish Shake-Up

Edit: you may control the real-estate, but will you have very many people in the pews with all the abortion, birth-control and homosexuality going on in the ECUSA?

[Virtue Online] After more than a decade of ecclesiastical infighting and lawsuits, a Montgomery County Court Judge delivered the final blow to the Anglo-Catholic rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Rosemont, on Monday by saying Fr. David L. Moyer must leave the parish. He also ordered two men to step down from the Vestry.

It is the end of a long and bitter battle waged between the Diocese of Pennsylvania, its Bishop Charles E. Bennison, the Standing Committee and Fr. David L. Moyer (AKA Bishop Moyer of the Traditional Anglican Communion). The latter fought the bishop charging him with heresy and his failure to uphold a flying bishop arrangement for Anglo-Catholics made under his predecessor Bishop Alan Bartlett.

Moyer has instigated and been dogged by multiple lawsuits for nearly a decade.

New Chinese Official Promises Increased Persecutions of Catholics in Hebei

Edit: Did someone say that Communism is dead?

(The portrait of Chairman Mao Zedong hangs behind red flags, raised during the sitting of parliament, and the Chinese national flag (R) in Beijing's Tiananmen Square March 3, 2008/David Gray)

The hardline Chinese official removed last week as Communist Party chief of restive Tibet has been made head of the province in the centre of contention over China’s Catholics, giving him an influential role in another sensitive religious issue. Zhang Qingli, who gained a reputation as an unyielding Communist Party secretary of heavily Buddhist Tibet, has been appointed party secretary of Hebei, the province surrounding Beijing, the Xinhua news agency reported late on Sunday.

Hebei, with a population of 70 million, is home to roughly a quarter of China’s 8-12 million Roman Catholics.

Zhang, 60, was known for his tough stance against Tibet’s exiled Buddhist leader the Dalai Lama, a man reviled by China as a separatist. The Nobel Peace Prize-winning monk denies advocating either violence or Tibetan independence. Zhang was in charge of Tibet in 2008 when protests in the regional capital Lhasa gave way to deadly riots that rippled across other ethnic Tibetan areas. After the protests, he rained insults on the Dalai Lama, calling him a “jackal in Buddhist monk’s robes.”

Jesuit Paper Supports the Church's Teaching on the Indissolubility of Marriage

Edit: The sad thing is that when the Jesuits actually defend the Church's teaching rather than undermine it, it is news. Not sure why these theologians complaining about credibility even have a job. Who are these alleged theologians who are undermining the credibility of the Church and the Jesuit Order?

In a move some theologians say undermines the credibility of the leading English-language Catholic theological journal, the Vatican has pressured it to publish a scholarly essay on marriage, unedited and without undergoing normal peer review.

The essay, which appeared in the June 2011 issue of the quarterly Theological Studies, published in Milwaukee under the auspices of the Jesuits, upholds the indissolubility of marriage. It was a reply to a September 2004 article in which two theologians argued for a change in church teachings on divorce and remarriage.

The Vatican has been pressuring the editors at Theological Studies since not long after the publication of the 2004 essay, according to theologians not connected to the journal or to the Jesuit order. The Vatican aim is to weed out dissenting voices and force the journal to stick more closely to official church teachings.

Austrians support priests' call for reform: Survey

Editor: Actually, the poll is almost directly contradicted by this poll. Most Austrians think this effort, being promoted in the Press almost daily, is a sham.

The following article paints a wistful picture of Austrian Catholics fed up with the Roman Hierarchy and ready to rebel alongside the consensus inspired two hundred or so enemies of the Church.

VIENNA - A drive for reform by Austrian priests, urging the ordination of women and an end to celibacy, is meeting with widespread support, according to a new survey published Monday.

A total 71.7 per cent of Austrians found the initiative "fair and adequate," with 64.7 per cent saying they would even sign a "call for insurbodination" launched in June, according to the Oekonsult polling institute.

The so-called "Priests' Initiative," signed by at least 200 clergymen, wants women and married individuals to be allowed to be ordained as priests, an end to the celibacy rule and the right for laymen to preach.
