Trappist Monastery Continues to Grow Despite Attacks

Terror Attack on Trappist Abbot Fails

The Old Liberal General Director of the Trappist Order in Rome wants the Abbot of Mariawald replaced -- and has fallen on his nose.

(kreuz.net) In 2008 the German Trappist Abbey of Mariawald in Eifel rd the privilege to celebrate the Liturgy and discipline of the Use of Monte Cistello of the year 1964.

The Commission 'Ecclesia Dei' published the Papal decree, after which employees of the State Secretariat had attempted to make the papal decision disappear in a drawer.

Difficult situation

Abbot Dom Josef of Mariawald got such a free hand in his monastery, to reinstate the traditional rites and customs without having had to find democratic majorities.

One third of the convention was for all of it, a third neutral and a third completely against.

Moreover, it was hoped to give a new thrust to new vocations for the Monstery.

However, when a handful of postulants could not meet the strenuous Trappist life - which is normal in such monasteries - and thus it happened that with no immediate flowering, those enemies of the Roman Rite within the order came on the scene.

The Abbot sits firmly in the saddle

It should be understood here that there is a principle of the Trappist community the Trappists that there is a certain number of options about how to interrupt an abbot.

So this was how the abbot of Maria Wald was sidelined by the advisory board.

This, however, quickly lost its teeth, because the Abbot is a wise and strong personality and he doesn't pretend to see things as they aren't.

Thus attempted an impeachment on the Order level.

An abbot, however, can be dismissed only for canonical reasons and has the right to appeal if necessary to a papal court.

Since Abbot Joseph has survived the critical month of September, in which he dealt with the General Council having survived politically, it has become clear that his position is not debatable and he will stay permanently.

The term of office for this reformer Abbot will last until 2038.

Only helps the Trappist prayer

In between 1965 and 1975, the Trappists lost thousands of monks and nuns because of rampant old liberalism.

Nevertheless, the relatively strict Trappist order still has twice as many vocations as members of the milder Cistercian order.

Mariawald has threatened to flip over into a Buddhist meditation center in the past.

At that time the Monastery was still on friendly terms with the Bishop of Aachen, Heinrich Mussinghoff.

Mariawald is located in the Diocese of Aachen.

Resignations, deaths and missing entries diluted an abbey which once had one hundred monks, more and more.

There was at the same time the heroic sanctity of so many brothers, who were mainly working animals, who endured the suffering and the situation in a spirit of prayer and vicarious atonement.

Brother Famian Gerwing who died in February was one of them.

Since the silent monks of Mariawald have begun this year to keep silent for half an hour daily prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, they have again reported serious candidates for the contemplative religious life.

Bishop Olmsted Consults With Liturgical Vandal on Communion in Both Kinds?

Is that Lila Rose?

Edit:  did Bishop Olmsted actually  consult the Father Ruff, or did this journalist think he did? Father Ruff is dissident who doesn't understand what obedience means.  He was out and about recently in Greenwich Village   helping dissidents feel good about dissenting and complaining about the new Mass translation.

Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted of Phoenix has backed away from his ban on using consecrated wine for Communion at most Masses, a decision that was originally met with widespread outcry.

In an explanation of his decision in a letter to the priests of the diocese, Olmsted apologized for his own misunderstanding of church documents, including new guidelines and translations for the Catholic Mass, and for any confusion arising from his previous statement made at a priests’ meeting in September.

Father Anthony Ruff, an expert on new translations for the Mass, who criticized the bishop’s previous position as a “step backward,” said he had never heard of a bishop “retracting so quickly.”

Rumours of Discord within the Society of St. Pius X

Edit: If you wanted democracy, you should have signed up  for  a different religion. It also seems like it would be a good idea to keep your powder dry till a decision has been made one way or another and the way the many of the laity are lamenting the way this is going is interesting as well.  Was the Protestant Revolt a good idea after all?

[TIA] In order to obtain a modernist personal prelature, Bishop Fellay has transformed the work of Archbishop Lefebvre into a personal dictatorship, assisted by a small circle of a dozen priests inside the SSPX ranks. The founder, who always acted transparently before the faithful regarding his relations with Rome, was betrayed.

Bernard Fellay

Accused of being a dictator
and asked to resign
Increasingly isolated in his allegiance to the Rome of Benedict XVI, and after having silenced the writings of the founder [a lawsuit he filed forbidding the dissemination of the Archbishops sermons], Bishop Fellay now censures the two opposed Bishops plus the 30 superiors of SSPX who rejected this anti-natural merge. When will Bishop Fellay and Fr. Schmidberger be deposed, the infiltrated priests expelled, and this politics of betrayal be publicly condemned?

At Albano on October 4, 2011, Bishop Fellay reportedly did not show the text of the Doctrinal Preamble to the SSPX superiors, but only gave a spoken presentation of it. This demonstrates his lack of transparency and his suspicion toward the very members of the General Chapter. Along with his two executives - Frs. Pfluger and Nly - Bishop Fellay seems to want to impose only his processus of merge-betrayal to the other superiors of the SSPX.

Abuse-hoax Engenders Double Standard Against the Bishops

Edit:  Father Z has this to say about how the abuse-hoax is being handled.  Those attacking the Church expect the Bishop to be in charge of every aspect of the priest's life, while often, the same people decry Bishops who do just that.  It's a double standard only we've been noticing, until today.  Father Z writes:

Liberals and secularists rail against bishops who are too restrictive or who are perceived to be too controlling.  If a bishop actually seeks to govern, they accuse him of being authoritarian, mean-spirited, backward.  On the other hand, they think that bishops can and ought to control every possible aspect of the lives of priests and want to hold them liable for every thing a priest does… unless, of course, the priest is a good and faithful priest, sticking to the Church’s teachings and sound practices.

Archbishop Nienstedt Draws Fire from Anti-Catholic NCR

Edit:  more people than ever should admire Archbishop Nienstedt.   As Bishop of New Ulm he denounced his Old Liberal predecessor's errors.

National Catholic Reporter just can't believe that a Bishop could be Catholic in this day and age, standing against the homosexual agenda.

Truly one of the most deceitful publications reporting on the Catholic scene in America had this to say:

The episode was not Nienstedt’s first indelicate act as bishop of New Ulm. He denounced the writings of his predecessor who had recently died. Bishop Raymond Lucker had begun working on a book when illness overtook him and he entrusted the completion of the work to a friend. Lucker, who had served as the bishop of New Ulm for twenty-five years, died in 2001, the same year Nienstedt became bishop of New Ulm. When the book was published in 2003, Nienstedt urged Catholics not to read it, said it did not adequately reflect Church Teaching. Nienstedt wrote that the book “challenges the church’s own understanding of herself as being authoritatively charged under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to teach in the name of Jesus on matters of faith and morals.” Nienstedt referred the text to the USCCB Doctrine Committee. The Committee engaged a theologian to review the book, who concluded that while there were some passages that were “ambiguous” and “lacking nuance,” the book did not contain “grave errors.”

San Jose Bishop Believes Laity "Well Instructed": Communion Under Both Kinds

Edit: the practice of Communion under both kinds was another practice which occurred both before and after the Council, appearing at first as an abuse and then as the Church wanted to relax discipline, it was permitted. Despite having a spotty pedigree going back to the Hussite heresy of Utraquism just before the Protestant Revolt got going, the Bishop of San Jose finds this a practice to encourage, and even believes that the laity is "well instructed".
Utraquism, briefly stated, means this: Man, in order to be saved, must receive Holy Communion when he wishes and where he wishes, under the forms of bread and wine (sub utraque specie). This, said the Hussite leader, is of Divine precept. For, "Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you" (John 6:54).
On the contrary, most Catholics are poorly formed and many of them do not understand the Holy Eucharist at all. One study conducted by Georgetown University indicates that only 12% of Catholics actually go to Mass every Sunday, so it's difficult to see how this practice should be promoted if the Bishop is basing that on how well-educated Catholics are.

San Jose bishop issues letter clarifying diocesan policy regarding Communion under both kinds

November 7, 2011

Dear Fathers, Deacons and Parish Liturgists,

In light of recent statements by the bishops of the Dioceses of Phoenix and Madison regarding the limited use of Holy Communion under both kinds, I would like to take this opportunity to clarify our normative practice in our own local Church.

In the Diocese of San Jose, Communion under both kinds is permitted whenever it may seem appropriate to the Priest to whom a community has been entrusted, provided that the conditions set in the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, 283, have been satisfied, namely:

The faithful have been well instructed;

There is no danger of profanation of the Sacrament; [That's a bold and, sorry to say, difficult statement to believe considering the way that Eucharistic "Ministers" don't seem to know what they're doing most of the time we've witnessed them.]

and

There is no danger of the rite becoming difficult because of the large number of participants or some other reason.

Boy Missing at Modernist Monastery Almost a Decade

Edit:  they've lied in the past, they will lie in the future.  The University and the Abbey have built an affluent, social worker's paradise, why would they be held accountable for anything?

One of the saddest things we ever heard is how Josh's father lingered around the campus for months looking for his son, listened to conversations, and any hint of what happened to his him.   He feels the School administration withheld evidence from him. In fact, they actually filed a restraining order to keep him off campus.

Considering the fact that Collegeville has long upheld a pretense of Catholicism and been a nexus of Liturgical abuse, doctrinal dissent, disobedience, homosexual activism,  radical and frankly seditious attitudes toward the United States, it's pretty well within the realm of the possible that they could also be responsible for the disappearance of a young man.

When family members wanted to have a march to recall Josh's memory, these Collegeville frauds wouldn't allow it to take place because in their words:

“would not be productive, and that the speculation and conjecture likely generated by such a march could in the end be more harmful to the efforts to find Josh.”
Speculation is legitimate because St. John's Abbey houses at least eleven credibly accused homosexual predators who, despite the Abbot's insistence that they are "on restriction", travel all over the world and enjoy the lifestyle of unmarried, affluent, single males.

At present, one monk who died under suspicious circumstances fits a profile by law enforcement.  His name is Father Bruce Wollmering.  The Sheriff's file related to what was found on Wollmering's computer and in his effects is sealed. As Pine Curtain reports:

There is speculation that the sheriff’s file on Wollmering is sealed because it contains information related to the disappearance of Jacob Wetterling or the disappearance of Joshua Guimond, or to both.

It would be interesting to know if Josh had Wollmering for a class or had visited him for counseling.   There also seems to be a connection with Josh's disappearance and the disappearances of many young men like him throughout the Midwest along Interstate Highway 94.

Any information about his whereabouts can be sent to the e-mail at this link.

MAPLE LAKE, MN — As the seventh year anniversary approaches for the disappearance of missing college student Joshua Guimond Nov. 10, his family is preparing for a “Justice for Josh,” march to keep his memory alive.

In addition to the march, the family has few kinds words to say about the university.  According to Joshua’s father, Brian Guimond, “One of several new facts regarding Joshua’s disappearance that we need to explore involves 11 known sex offenders who resided on campus when Joshua disappeared. If that is the case, we may never know the truth. The University and Abbey have a long history of withholding information from the public and law enforcement authorities.”   The public needs to be aware of this.

Guimond disappeared after leaving a small card party as a student at St. John’s University in Collegeville in 2002.

St. Leo the Great on Receiving Holy Communion

Edit: picked up a post by Taylor Marshall.   What he's saying needs to be repeated again and again. Now we have a great Pope witnessing to the venerable way of receiving Communion.
Today is the feast of Pope Saint Leo the Great (r. 440-461) who is one of the greatest Popes that the Catholic Church has ever enjoyed. He preserved stability during the collapse of the Roman Empire. He is perhaps most famous for his meeting with Attila the Hun.

He less well known for something very important to liturgical studies. He is one of the most ancient witnesses to the practrice of Communoin on the tongue. Notably, Saint Leo the Great read the sixth chapter of Saint John's Gospel as referring to the Eucharist (as all the Church Fathers did). In a preserved sermon on John 6 (Sermon 9), Saint Leo says:

"Hoc enim ore sumitur quod fide creditur" (Serm. 91.3).

What a Modern Bishop says about Communion in the hand is this.

The ancient faithful never took Communion with their fingers: "the gesture of hand Communion was completely unknown in the Church."

Here's what the Fathers said....

Degenerate and Blasphemous Art Continues to Appear with Your Tax Dollar

Edit: Apparently, the only group systematically protesting this is the TFP who sent out some e-mails about it.   But Bill Donahue has said something too.  It's still ongoing. Still, there's only one group I know of that does anything effective against this determined evil.

Check out the poll in the article below.  Most people who've voted feel Christianity is unfairly singled out by the Arts.

[New York Daily News] An avant-garde video of ants skittering over the crucified Jesus is enraging Christians who say an upcoming Brooklyn Museum art exhibit is sacrilegious.

"Ants were crawling on the image of the crucified Christ," said Msgr. Kieran Harrington, a spokesman for the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, which sent a letter asking for the video to get yanked from the exhibit. "Certainly we don’t think this would be tolerated if this was the image of the Prophet Muhammed or any other religious symbol."

"A Fire in My Belly" is a short, unfinished film created by the late David Wojnarowicz. The Brooklyn Museum intends to show a four-minute edit of the video, which is about suffering.

Islamists Have Killed 150 in Nigeria Since Friday

The poor youth of the region are "easy targets for the Islamists", warns bishop. They would have, "everyone in the state forcibly converted to Islam."

Maiduguri (kath.net / KIN) The Islamist sect "Boko Haram" ("Western education is sin"), which has killed at least  150 people since Friday in attacks in northern Nigeria, likely receives support from elected politicians. The Bishop of Maiduguri, Oliver Doem Dashe said to worldwide Catholic charity "ACN", Northern Nigerian politicians would use the Islamists as a tool to destabilize the region and hamper their political opponents.

Specifically, the bishop criticized the government of the northern Nigerian state of Borno, because in the capital, Maiduguri, it has "let down the people" because it did not guarantee security from arson. "There are powerful politicians who allow the Islamists to buy local produce and weapons," said Bishop Doem.

Religion is a touchy topic in his diocese, so it falls easily to the politicians to sow hatred and distrust among the people. The youth of the region are poor, poorly educated and unemployed. "They are an easy target for the Islamists," warned the bishop.

"It's part of the plan of 'Boko Haram' to drive the Christians out of Borno," said Bishop Doem. Sharia is already in Borno as the basis of legislation.

This was  not sufficient for the Muslims, however. They would have, " forcibly converted all  the people of the state to Islam."  Bishop Doem reported that the Islamists had already infiltrated parts of the police and other security forces. He requested the government  earnestly  to protect all citizens in this dire situation.

In a series of attacks by "Boko Haram" last weekend, at least 150 people were killed. The bombings and armed attacks were directed primarily against facilities of the military, the police and against churches in the cities of Maiduguri and Damaturu.

By a bomb, according to testimony by Bishop Doem one of the largest churches in his diocese had been completely destroyed.  The burned church of "Our Lady" in Damaturu, which was leveled to its foundations, had offered space for over 1000 worshipers. "Last Sunday Mass had to be celebrated in the parish rectory," lamented Bishop Doem. "The government must finally make sure that we can live our faith freely."

About half the population of Nigeria is committed to the Christian faith. While in the south of the country there live predominantly Christians, Muslims form a clear majority in the north. Twelve states in northern Nigeria have adopted Sharia as a source of legislation.

The worldwide Catholic charity "ACN" supports the Church in Nigeria in their distress and asks for donations for the pastoral formation of local work.

Collegeville Football Coach is Shocked About Sex-Abuse

Edit: when the most winning coach in all of football who lives at the most modernist Monastery  in the world is shocked about sex-abuse, you know something's afoot.
I'm Shocked
COLLEGEVILLE — Like most in the college football world and beyond, St. John’s coach John Gagliardi has been shocked by the sex-abuse scandal that has rocked head coach Joe Paterno and the Penn State football program.

Jerry Sandusky, the longtime former Penn State defensive coordinator, has been charged with sexually-assaulting eight boys across a 15-year period. Tim Curley, the school’s athletic director, and Gary Schultz, the vice president for finance and business, have been charged with perjury and failure to report what they knew of the allegations to authorities.

“It’s just awful,” Gagliardi said of the allegations against Sandusky. “Just awful. If they’re true, I don’t know if there is enough punishment in the world for a guy like that.”

German bishop prepares for funeral of ecumenism

Edit: this is yet another astonishing event.  Since when have Catholic Bishops ever expected the partners in ecumenical dialog to be consistent about anything, or even to be equal partners in a discussion?  Here's something big from Catholic Church Conservation.

Passau: Bischof Müller sieht Zukunft der Ökumene gefährdet - PNP-Interview | Passauer Neue Presse - Politik - Heute in Ihrer Tageszeitung - Heimatzeitung für Niederbayern und Altötting:

The Regensburg Bishop Gerhard Ludwig Mueller has accused representatives of the German Protestant Church of driving "a wedge" into the Catholic Church. In the interview with PNP, the Bishop responsible for the ecumenical movement within the German Bishops' Conference attacked "controversial statements" during the Pope's visit to Germany and put Catholic-Protestant ecumenism as a whole in question.

Muller was particularly critical of the Berlin Protestant bishop Markus Dröge, who had written that Benedict XVI had "no concept of ecumenism". Such statements are "just to be dismissed as totally without basis," said the Regensburg Bishop, stating: "If one continues on this line, this would be the death of ecumenism."

Legal Counsel of Fulda Diocese Threatens Catholic News Service

Edit: the Lack of professionalism on the part of these German attorneys is really astonishing.

Letter by Dr. Post from the diocese of Fulda:  He threatened KATH.NET with legal consequences because of a request to the bishopric of Fulda (!). Detail: Dr. Post is one of the eight members on the board of 'Die Welt'

Fulda (kath.net)  The sex scandal surrounding 'Weltbild' Group and information on pornography at various bookstores reported by Kath.net,  has now led to a very bizarre reaction from the Diocese of Fulda.

Background: On 25 October kath.net had written in a report on 'Weltbild': "KATH.NET readers have informed KATH.NET that the Cathedral Book Store in Fulda has sex and porn items in there. So you can easily get films like "Porn for Couples" or  "The Porn for Couples -- oral sex" and many other relevant articles.  KATH.NET then asked the Cathedral Book Store and the Diocese of Fulda for an opinion. The bookstore's statement was clear.  It came promptly,  and was fast and friendly, while the opinion of the Diocese did not come at all.

This week, KATH.NET was reached by mail  with one letter from Dr. Albert Post, the General Counsel of the Episcopal Vicar General of Fulda, where he threatened KATH.NET with legal consequences  because KATH.NET addressed  and reported a request (!) regarding a case which was reported to the appointed representative of  the Diocese of Fulda. In addition to an allegedly factual statement claiming that the diocese has nothing  to do with the Cathedral Book Store,  the letter contains the  following response:.. "We therefore request your Catholic online newspaper omit in total its unworthy action in consequence  and in relation to the bishopric of Fulda.  We ask at this point whether kath.net  doesn't live in the same glass house at the moment, as you throw stones, considering your own on-line internet offers.  Perhaps you should mind the plank in your own eye."  It is not clear at present whether this untrue allegation has been agreed upon by the Diocese of Fulda.  KATH.NET has in this respect requested clarification from its press office. Regardless, KATH.NET is also considering current legal action against Dr. Post at this point.
Advertising

It is clear that there is something else that touches on the back ground of 'Weltbild' itself. A look at the board in the world should suffice: Albert Post is one of the eight members of the board of directors and thus responsible for the 'Weltbild' scandal, where there are currently still thousands of relevant erotic and illicit works on offer and where currently, still via the 'Welt'  daughter company,  Droemer-Knaur, various anti-Church products are still produced and distributed. The diocese of Fulda is involved in "Weltbild' for 6.8 percent. Other members of the Board of 'Weltbild' include Klaus Donaubauer, Chairman of the Finance Director of the Diocese of Augsburg and Father Hans Langendörfer, the secretary of the German Bishops' Conference.

Pope Launches Broadside Against German Bishops

Papst ermahnt die ungehorsamen deutschen Bischöfe

Vatican.  The German Bishops must decide to proceed against pornography.  Pope Benedivt XVI said this yesterday in a reception for Reinhard Schweppe, the new German Ambassador to the Holy See. The Holy See is concerned on this account, that the necessary action against the dissemination of pornography on the part of the Catholic Church in Germany "must be decisively and clearly pursued".  It is clear that with this the Pope was implying the scandal surrounding the Catholic 'Weltbild'  publisher.

Hasbeen Rocker Threatens to Kill Pope

Father Sinead

Edit: obviously she can say anything she wants. She's a priest and a respected member of the Rock Arts Community. And to think that many young girls pattern their behavior after the way this woman has conducted herself for the fifty years or so she's been alive.  This kind of thing really typifies the way a lot of these Gnostics think.  O'Connor, who is a member of a Gnostic sect and claims to be an ordained priest, apparently loves the Latin Mass.  She has such a high opinion of herself, that she doesn't seem to care whether or not her on-line comments might constitute a legitimate threat punishable under Irish law.

Another trike against women's ordination.

[The Blaze]Twitter seems to be a tool that just isn’t meant for singer Sinead O‘Connor’s usage.
Back in September, the performer ignited a somewhat underreported firestorm when she apparently tweeted that she would initiate a “bloodbath” if Pope Benedict XVI visited Ireland (according to Irish Central, the exact quote was: “There’d be a f**kin bloodbath. Me meet the f **ker off the plane myself.”)

Another Perspective on Assisi III

There's a New Star in the Russian Sky. His Name Is Aleksandr

He led the delegation from the ;patriarchate of Moscow in Assisi. Together with Metropolitan Hilarion, he is an emerging leader of the new generation. In great harmony with the Church of Pope Benedict

by Sandro Magister

ROME, November 7, 2011 - Among the religious leaders listening to the pope in Assisi, in the photo above, the first on the left with the solemn white headdress is Metropolitan Aleksandr of Astana and Kazakhstan.

The fact that the Orthodox patriarchate of Moscow and all Russia sent him as the head of its delegation to Assisi made some think of a downgrading and of a sticking point in the dialogue with the Church of Rome.

Nothing could be more mistaken.

Aleksandr is not at all a second-rank figure. He is the new star of Russian Orthodoxy.

Ex-Monk's Signed Statement Throws Modernist Monastery in a Darker Light

Edit:

This signed statement below is from a former monk, Bede Perry, who has left the Catholic Church after being rejected from a Catholic Monastery in California for being the perpetrator of several cases of sexual abuse over a long period of time. We just got it in the e-mail from Pine Curtain.

First of all, it's pretty damning that a man of his bonafides having a track record of admitted sexual abuse, was permitted to continue through his studies and get ordained as a Catholic priest. It needs to be pointed out that many priests and seminarians have been dismissed, suspended or reprimanded for simply exhibiting a seriousness about doctrine, or even a preference for the Immemorial Mass. Rest assured, had Bede Perry been an orthodox monk with a preference for the Latin Liturgy, he would have been dismissed not only from St. John's program, but from the religious life itself. This is one more glaring example of how the leadership of this Monastery has an animus delendi against the Church and seems bent on turning weasels loose in the chicken coop as it were. You can read about it in Micheal Rose's critically acclaimed book, Good Bye, Good Men.

There are some very interesting features to this statement by former monk and lapsed Catholic, Bede Perry. The first one is that it verifies that he describes that all-too-familiar sly indifference in the homosexual super-culture at St. John's Abbey, which might go unnoticed if you were, say, an elderly but wealthy donor who went to school there during a time when this was less extant or kept more hidden. The second is that it buttresses many of the claims against the Abbey simultaneously. It shows a laughable indifference to canon law and the norms regarding the ordination of priests and discipline of monks. The third, and somewhat incomprehensible feature is that Bede Perry felt compelled to leave the Catholic Church after another Benedictine Abbey, Prince of Peace, refused him as a member because of what they believed was his tendency to abuse minors.

Although his being refused entry into the Monastery and his departure from the Catholic Church in 2002 do not appear to be related, it's hard not to suggest a connection. So, as far as it looks, Bede Perry, a sexual predator with a propensity to abuse minors, is working for the Episcopalians now.

Yet it must also be said that, despite the single apparent inconsistency in this story, Bede Perry has done a great service to those who understand that there's something terribly wrong going on at the Modernist Monastery. It's been our constant insistence that the reason there are such problems in the first place is largely due to the fact that the Monastery is modernist. It falls short consistently with respect to canon law, moral law and even the positive divine law, or Ten Commandments.

While attending the School of Theology, I lived with the other monks at Saint John’s. There was an awareness of my misconduct among the other monks. In addition to Fr. Roman Paur and Fr. Finian McDonald, Fr. Rene McGraw also knew details of my misconduct. I recall that other monks commented or joked about my misconduct in a light-hearted, but nonetheless inappropriate, manner.

I completed the School of Theology program in 1982 and returned to Conception Abbey that summer. I was ordained on April 16, 1983. Abbot Jerome Hanus reminded me at the time of my ordination that I would need to be “especially observant” of my vow of celibacy.

In the summer of 1987, Conception Abbey hosted a choir camp. I had been involved with the Abbey Boy Choir as organist, director, or both, for several years. During the camp, I had inappropriate sexual contact in my living quarters with [John Doe 181], a member of the Abbey Boy Choir.

In the Society of St. Pius X, the Original Text is Clear

A professor of the Technical University in Berlin has broken the monotone choir of the German muzzle media.

(kreuz.net) The Socity of St. Pius X is the past and the future of the Catholic Church.

Norbert Bolz (58) -- left-wing media critic and Comparative Religion Professor at the Technical University of Berlin -- for 'Christ und Welt'.

'Christ und Welt' is a supplement for the anti-Church German weekly 'Zeit'.

The Church has distanced itself from its original text

In "Dogmatism and Traditionalism" the Society is for Bolz, absolutely certain of the "original text of Christendom".

The Church has grown ever further away from this with the centuries.

It is often forgotten that the Dogma is what forms the identity of Catholicism.

Even the Pope wants to recall this and strengthen it.

Christ was not the darling of the media and the masses

'Christ und Welt' asked the professor, why the Pope apparently punishes the all-powerful Old Liberals "by ignoring them" while wooing the Society.

Bolz explained that the Old Liberal side of "Catholicism" isn't controversial, but main stream.

A Hans Kung is the darling of the masses and the media "The [Old] Liberalism doesn't have an image problem".

The problem lies in holding back the "reactionary side in the official world of the Catholic Church".

The Old Liberal ideology is used up

'Christ und Welt' insists that the Pope has frustrated "many people" with his reorientation of the doctrinal teaching.

Bolz countered with a "growing longing of many people for rigor, tradition, liturgy and dogmatic certainty."

The -- apparent -- return of the Pope to Dogma is not for him a way to social aloofness:

"Much more he is possibly giving the Church a new relevance through the power of timelessness."

The dead end of radical accommodation

'Christ und Welt' threatened the media researcher with empty Catholic Churches -- and Bolz made light of it: "The evangelical churches are also empty as well."

In reality they are much more empty than Catholic churches.

Protestantism is for Bolz the evidence, "in which the dead end is the way of radical accommodation with the Zeitgeist."

Old Liberalism must wither

Benedict XVI is for Bolz the first Pope, "who has spoken with courage what everyone already knows: the Church must live with contraction."

In the process of healthy contraction tedium will disappear, thinks Bolz -- that answers for an -- Old Liberal -- organization which trickles Orthodoxy.

Through contraction the doctrine will come into clear. Bolz also understands this as "the original text and the Society".

The Germans project their history on the Church

As expected 'Christ und Welt' entrusted itself, in the sense of the German mania for Nazis and of the left church-hate, to the mantra of a "centuries long tradition of anti-Semitism" in the Church.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

Bolz ducks here as expected. In muzzle and Nazi-mad Germany he doesn't have another choice.

In any case he questions, "whether the Catholic Church should generally accommodate itself to media imperatives of the modern."

Turkey: Hagia Sophia of Nicea Opened as Mosque

A church with high symbolic value in the history of Christianity will be used as a mosque. Till now, the building was a museum and tourist destination.

Istanbul (kath.net/KNA) The Hagia Sofia of Nicaea, the meeting place of the Seventh Ecumenical Council in the year 787 is to be declared a mosque by the Turkish authorities. As the Turkish press reported last Thursday, the call to prayer of the Muezzins is being sung for the first time that eve since the founding of the Turkish Republic in 1923. The minaret was attached during the Ottoman period to the Church in the city the Turks call Iznik. Last year it was restored. With the celebratory prayer at the beginning of the Islamic sacrificial feast on Sunday morning, it will free the former church for Islamic religious ceremonies.

The decision of the Office of the Board as the competent authority sparked a fierce debate. The art historian Selcuk Mülayim of Marmara University pointed to the importance of the building in the history of Christianity and warned the move would draw protests to itself from around the world. The Chamber of Commerce of Iznik criticized the move as totally incomprehensible, as the small town lives from tourism.

Also controversial is whether it is due to the Board to explain how the previous church is converted from a museum to a mosque. The Office explained that the building had been set aside by the community unjustifiably as a museum, according to their documents, since it had never been used as a museum before. In the past year in any case, a sign stood before the restored church structure with "Museum" written on it; a warden collected entrance fees.

In the Hagia Sophia of Nicaea the Bishops of the East Roman Empire gathered in 787, in order to decide the Byzantine Iconoclast Controversy and to permit the veneration of Icons. Nicaea was also the meeting place of the first Ecumenical council in the year 325. The palace in which the Council took place, is no longer extant, however.

The Hagia Sophia was changed into a mosque by the Muslims in 1331 when they captured the city, and after a fire it was restored by architect Mimar and destroyed at the Battle of Bursa in the Turkish War of Independence in the 1920s. The ruins were restored in 2007 and has drawn Christian religious tourism.

JR Ewing Says Christ took Drugs

Jesus had experiences on drugs, insists the 80 year old actor, Larry Hagman, earlier known for his role in "Dallas".

Hamburg (kath.net/KNA)Larry Hagman (80), US actor, astonished with his very peculiar interpretation of the message of Jesus. He believes, "that Jesus also took drugs as before he performed his actual fast in the desert", said Hagman to the "Zeit". He could even imagine, "that some of the concepts and thoughts, which he expressed in his teaching arose from drug experiences".

The performer of the earlier US-Series "Dallas" insists that smokeable substances like marihuana or mushrooms are thoroughly beneficial, according to his own admission: "That a person has the power of imagination and consciousness is due, I believe, to the fact that some ape a few million years ago ate a hallucinogenic substances." Only alcohol should be forbidden, says Hagman, who himself has battled with alcoholism. Alcohol causes violence.

The Statement was "Not Authorized"

Edit: Someone in England was trigger happy.

The red-hot Statement of a British District Superior that the Society would find the Dogmatic Preamble "unacceptable" has disappeared from the net.

(Kreuz.net, Menzingen) Only the General House of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X is entitled to publish an authorized commentary on the negotiations with Rome.

This was explained by the General House today in a press release.

The occasion was a recent Statment by the British District Superior Father Paul Morgan.

He said that the Superior of the Society would find the dogmatic preamble "unacceptable".

The newsletter has now disappeared from the website of the British District of the SSPX.

The content is not denied

Interesting detail: The media statement by the General House did not deny the statement by the British District Superior content on any point.

It just means general that since the meeting of the Society on the 7th and 8th of October in Rome, several comments were circulating about what the Superior General, Bishop Bernard Fellay, will say to the Vatican.

An official communiqué on the subject would only be published by the General's House.

Therefore applies as long as no further information appears that - the meaningless in content - press release of 7 October still stands.

Healthcare Worker Suspended for Trashing the Pope on Line

Edit: why don't they start suspending priests for twelve weeks without pay?

Germany.
The church may terminate employees without notice if they offend the Pope. That is what the State Court of Baden-Württemberg decided yesterday, according to German press reports. In this specific case, there was a nurse who worked at a hospital of Caritas in Lake Constance. He spread defamatory articles against the Pope on the Internet under a pseudonym. When the author became known, 'Caritas' suspended the nurse without notice. Then he got twelve weeks without unemployment benefits. However, despite going against the ruling and has now lost. The plaintiff must also behave off duty so that "no contradiction to the principles of operation of employment" arises - the judges found.

Traditional Oratorians in Berlin Are Struggling

Karfreitag am Institut Sankt Philipp Neri in Berlin
Good Friday at the Institute of St. Philip Neri in Berlin

(Kreuz.net) Provost Gerald Goesch today celebrates the traditional feast of Christ the King for his silver Jubilee.

He was ordained a priest 25 years ago in Rome by the Old Liberal Archbishop Oscar Saier († 2008) from Freiburg.

Later he served as parish administrator of the 2,500 population community in the diocese of St. Pölten in Blindenmarkt.

There he assisted the Catholic Congregation of 'Servi et Mariae Jesus' form their General house.

He then worked as an associate priest of the SSPX, and built a church for them in Berlin.

He also helped the Old-Rite Church in the 8000-population district Köllerbach in Saarland toward canonical recognition.

In place of gifts, the Dean solicits donations for the Oratory he founded St. Philip Neri-Institute in Berlin.

The papal society of apostolic life was established in 2004 and currently consists of four priests, of whom two reside in Berlin.

The tasks of the apostolate of the Institute include adoration, confession, catechism and sacred music under the exclusive use of the old liturgy - which stresses unity with the Pope and the universal Church.

There is a shrine to the Divine Mercy. in the dormitory of the Institute.

In recent years, the church and a house was purchased. They correspond to the present needs of an oratory of St. Philip Neri.

These investments, however, brought the Institute into serious financial problems.

The situation is serious but not hopeless.

The merry provost - who has difficulties with community life as well - trusts in the providence of God and the generosity of the faithful.

With a donation of five million euros, all of the financial problems of the community of priests would be solved.

Then, the conversion of the Godless decadence of Berlin still awaits.

This is a Herculean task, even for the young candidates for the priesthood who must certainly enter the Oratorian Community, to consecrate their lives to the service of God for the soul of neighbor.

Knights of Columbus Confront Occupy Vatican

Edit: I knew there was a reason for the Knights of Columbus.

VANCOUVER — More than a dozen protesters left the Occupy Vancouver demonstration and stood face to face with church officials over the weekend at the downtown Holy Rosary Cathedral as a planned march to "Occupy the Vatican" made it to the front stairs outside the building before being thwarted.

On Sunday afternoon, up to six Catholic-sponsored Knights of Columbus — as well as a handful of Vancouver police officers — stood guard at the top of the concrete stairs as a breakaway faction of Occupy protesters shouted slogans and demanded answers for atrocities committed at residential schools in years past.

The breakaway faction claims the church sits on native land.

St. Josemaria Escriva Didn't Want to Say New Mass

Edit: a few Saints have profanity in their correspondence. St. Josemaria certainly does. Although this may scandalize some Opus Dei members, we were edified by it. And although he was the first to say the New Mass, he did in fact say it -- probably once -- he was also the first to apply for an Indult.

An early collaborator of St. Josemaria Escriva--the first saint to ever celebrate the NOM-- relates the following story: It was in the heady days of the Second Vatican Council, probably after 1965. St. Josemaria Escriva had dutifully learned the New Mass promulgated by Pope Paul VI in the wake of the Second Vatican Council and said it for the first time.

The report is that he fretted in saying it. He found it so exasperating that after putting his vestments away, he hurried to his office to call the Office of Rites in order to request an Indult. Upon describing the Mass to his interlocutor, he said with some vehemence, "what is this shit?"

Shortly after his discussion, he continued saying the Mass he'd always said, having acquired the necessary Indult and we are told he never said the New Mass as part of his private Liturgy again.

"While it may be impossible to verify the details, it is well known that St. Josemaria applied very for an indult very early on, and did not say the NOM in his later life."

Halloween is Condemned by the Pope

Edit: Of course this is one of the scariest times of the year. There are recollections of one's mortality and the decay of things as the days grow colder, more bitter and remote.

It is also the time when Martin Luther launched the Protestant Revolt. Halloween is made scarier still by the appearance of the reformer. But the connection is more than merely temporal, for there are links between the Protestant Revolt and occultism which brings the modern age more clearly into focus.

[Daily Mail] Halloween is largely a secular celebration which has its origins in an ancient festival marking the start of the 'darker half of the year'.

But in an article entitled The Dangerous Messages of Halloween, the Vatican's official newspaper L'Osservatore Romano quoted liturgical expert Joan Maria Canals as saying: 'Halloween has an undercurrent of occultism and is absolutely anti-Christian.'

Father Canals urged parents 'to be aware of this and try to direct the meaning of the feast towards wholesomeness and beauty rather than terror, fear and death'.

Ireland's Child-Abuse Candidate Concedes

Edit: Despite his clear support for sex between adults and minors, Ireland's pederastic presidential hopeful, David Norris, has conceded to Labour candidate Michael D. Higgins. Perhaps it's the fear of legitimately seeing a connection between liberalism, homosexuality and the sexual abuse of children?

Absent from the general coverage was any but the barest suggestion of the potential child abuser's controversial statements. Despite Ireland's best efforts to remain blind, there were skeletons that could scare even that moribund body politic. Although some interesting things have come to light, like this revelation from Irish Independent.

His first campaign imploded over the August bank holiday weekend, when it emerged Mr Norris wrote letters to Israeli judges in 1997 seeking clemency for his former lover Ezra Nawi, who had been convicted of the statutory rape of a 15-year-old Palestinian boy.

Apparently, the nail in the coffin came when it was revealed that he had been receiving disability payments while also receiving his Senator's salary.

Prize Withdrawn: Leftist Child-Predator Avows it Not

Edit: while the Bishops cringe in the face of the abuse-hoax, the Left uses those claims to conceal its own very real child abuse scandals.

(kreuz.net) The community service Comenius-Foundation has withdrawn the prize conferred on alleged educational reformer Hartmut von Hentig, which was originally given to him in 1994 on 18 October.

The 'Frankfurter Allgemeinen' reported this on Thursday.

The prize of the Comenius Foundation was given for the support of needy children and youth.

Homosexual, Child abuser, Atheist

Von Hentig has been celebrated for decades in Germany as the left-liberal star pedagogue.

He lived with the child abuser and director of the Hessian Odenwaldschule, Gerold Becker in a homosexual relationship.

But there's more, von Hentig is a member of the board of the German anti-Church organization "Humanistische Union'.

Attacks instead of Information

The money associated with the Comenius prize at that time of 20,000 D-Mark had to be passed, according to the statutes of the prize winners, to needy young people.

Hentig directed the money toward both institutions Odenwaldschule and Helene-Lange School in Wiesbaden, which have been notorious in the past for child abuse.

When the Comenius Foundation came to know of the offenses in those schools, they asked for clarification from Hentig.

But Hentig and the administrators of these schools accused the founder and chairman of the foundation of "prejudice".

The Foundation presented three questions about his possible homosexual involvement as well as regarding the homosexual rape of children in the Odenwald School.

Hentig left them unanswered.

Therefore, the Foundation came to the conclusion that Hentig was only prolonging his "concealment, trivializing and covering up".

It asked him to transfer the prize money then into the victims' fund of the Odenwald School, "so that at least one substantive gesture of reparation will be apparent."

"So that's one of those boys'

In 2010, former students from Odenwaldschule accused Hentig.

As Becker's homosexual partner, he was involved with the school and didn't work out.

He is said to have overnighted with at least one of Becker's victims.

The Odenwald victim Jürgen Dehmer describes in his book "How loud should I scream?", that he met Hentig sitting in Becker's living room, while the latter sat in a flat leather chair:

"I had just gone through Becker's apartment to smear me a loaf of bread, or perhaps to get something to drink, when Hentig looked at me with a penetrating, almost greedy eye. He looked at me, he looked at Becker, back to me and said, "So that's one of those boys."!

Von Hentig had stated in the past that the child abuser Becker is perhaps the object of child seduction.

On 21 October, he was to give a paper on Golo Mann- despite his history - in the German National Library in Frankfurt at the invitation of 'Golo Mann Society'.

He cancelled his appearance, when he learned that abuse victims were planning a demonstration to ask him to account for himself.

The Pope Condemns Witchcraft

Benedict XVI encouraged the Bishops of Angola to decisive measures against heathen practices like the ostracism and murder of children and the elderly.

Vatican City (kath.net/KNA) Pope Benedict XVI has encouraged the Bishops of Angola to decisive measures against heathen practices like the ostracism and murder of children and the elderly. Such traditional African practices are horrific and incompatible with Christianity, stressed the Pope on Saturday to the top Bishops of the southwest African land, who are fulfilling their ad limina visit at present in Rome. The Bishops must raise their voices against ostracism and the condemnation of these persons through witchcraft and magical incantations. Human life is holy in all of its phases, underscored the Pope.

The baptized are often torn between the traditional African religions and Christianity, continued the Pope. For that reason there are some practices which are incompatible with Christian doctrine and are dramatic in their consequences. Specifically, the Pope criticized the exaggerated concern with tribal associations, which limit the socialization between different people, and suggest that they are not prepared to receive people from other regions. In the Church there is "no place for this kind of ostracism", said the Pope. The bonds of brotherhood between Christians are stronger in the final analysis "than our earthly families and their heredity", stressed the head of the Church.

Report: Catholic bishop in Nigeria approved the request of one of his priests to join the SSPX

Edit: the story is from the newsletter of the SSPX, Catholic Tradition, in Africa.

Before the arrival of Fr. Duverger we had already visited the faithful in Asaba (109 Kilometers from Enugu). On Wednesday, 18th May we were in Owerri where Fr. Duverger offered mass in the home of Mr. Mike Iheboro. About 35 faithful were present. Owerri is 174 Kilometers from Enugu. On Thursday, we were in the parish of Fr. Samuel Abah, a priest of Otukpo diocese who had decided to join us in the battle for Catholic tradition. This was 150 Kilometers from Enugu. The district superior offered mass for over 200 faithful in Nwedoga, an outstation of Fr. Samuel Abah's parish. On the evening of Friday, 20th we met with his bishop who gave his verbal approval for Fr. Abah to join the Society. This was in addition to welcoming us warmly and having us lodged in his cathedral. Sunday the 22nd was the turn of the Enugu faithful to have the district superior offer a sung mass at 10.00am followed by a conference, and a question and answer session.

The German Bishops Profit from Porn: Weltbild

Edit: This has been an issue for thirty years. Kath.net has just reported that Cologne has severed their relationship with Weltbild, an enormous publishing company which falls in just under Amazon in terms of revenue. Recently, there has been a tremendous reaction against this which is becoming increasingly intense.

The following article is from an anti-Catholic publication, 'Business Insider'. The only people reporting on this so far in English, are anti-Catholics. The conservative Catholic German media has been reporting on it non-step for the last two or three weeks.

One of Germany's largest publishing companies, Weltbild, has over 2,500 erotic novels in its online catalogue. Its owned 100 percent by the German Catholic Church.

Worldcrunch, summarizing an article by German newspaper Die Welt, says that for over 10 years Catholics have complained about the company, which has been owned by the church for over 30 years. The high point of this opposition came in 2008, when a 70-page report on the book sales was sent to bishops.

Die Welt reports that the situation came to light after a report this month mentioned the erotica distributed by Weltbild. The publication also said that over half of the bishops who were sent the report in 2008 failed to acknowledge receipt of the document.

Parisian Catholics Strike Out Against Blasphemous Play

Edit:  Christianiphobia's ok, that's the message that's being sent, and you'd better not do anything about it either.  A protest organized by an organization known as Renouveau Françai, that is a group of fervent Catholics dedicated to the restoration of France to Her ancient traditions. The protest has sparked a lot of justifiable anger among the Parisians as a whole, while decadent government officials seek legal remedies.  According to the following news report, this play, which blasphemes the Blessed Mother and Our Lord, has appeared without incident in Poland, Spain and Italy.

What's wrong with the rest of Europe?  Is France  the only nation in Europe where men take action against palpable evil when they see it?

Some protesters got inside the play and displayed a banner.  They were manhandled -- if you can call it that--
by the theater staff while the audience jeered at the protesters who'd stolen the stage.

PARIS (AP) — The city of Paris is filing legal complaints against a group of fundamentalist Christians who have been protesting a play currently showing at the municipal theater, claiming it is blasphemous, the mayor said Friday.

Riot police have been called in to chase off demonstrators bearing crosses loudly protesting in front of, and sometimes inside, the Theatre de la Ville since the Oct. 20 opening of the play.

"Sur le Concept du Visage du fils de Dieu" ("On the Concept of the Son of God's Face"), by Italian Romeo Castellucci is a provocative story centering on a young man caring for his aged and incontinent father. A portrait of the face of Christ looms large onstage throughout and projectiles are ultimately thrown at it.

Bishop Finn of Kansas City Slams Professional Victims Organization SNAP

Kudos to Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, for an excellent interview in the National Catholic Register regarding the recent high-profile case of Bishop Robert Finn. (I highly recommend it.) Archbishop Naumann responded to some questions about the notorious group SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests) with some brave remarks:

One Step Closer to a Repeal of Act of Settlement

Edit:  The prohibition against being married to a Catholic for an heir to the throne has been lifted.

Of course, leave it to Archbishop Nichols to highlight what's wrong with this as if it were something good:

The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster, Vincent Nichols, said the elimination of the "unjust discrimination" against Catholics would be widely welcomed.

"At the same time I fully recognise the importance of the position of the established church [the Church of England] in protecting and fostering the role of faith in our society today," he said.

Two Bonus Army Veterans Killed by the Ruthless US Army

Edit:  The recent severe injury of a two time Iraq war veteran, because of the alleged actions of the Oakland Police, has sparked some controversy.   It isn't the first time war veterans have taken part in protests in the United States.  In fact there was another protest called the Bonus March in 1932 when ten thousand war veterans along with their families camped out in Washington in the spring and the summer.  If ten thousand veterans with clear and respectable demands weren't satisfied back in the midst of the depression, it's unlikely that an unruly gaggle of assorted and conflicting interests who have no clear agenda, is going to accomplish anything either.

Back in 1932, General Douglas MacArthur was called out by President Hoover to crush the Bonus March.  Two war veterans were killed in the skirmishing involving tanks, cavalry, infantry and tear gas.  So not only were the demands of these people not met, but  the demonstrators were also chased out of their shanty towns with their wives and children in tow while their shelters and all of their possessions were burned down.

Occupy Wall Street isn't going to end any better.  Presently, the Oakland one has been cleaned up. Note:  All you need are jail cells.

50 Theologians Petition Holy Father to Reassess Vatican Council

Edit: the following article in Dici is very interesting.   It's even more interesting in that a substantial number of theologians in Italy, not all of them associated directly with the SSPX are calling for what is suggested in the following letter:

[Dici]In his petition, Msgr. Gherardini wrote:

“For the good of the Church—and more especially to bring about the salvation of souls, which is her first and highest law (cf. the 1983 CIC, canon 1752)—after decades of liberal exegetical, theological, historiographical and “pastoral” creativity in the name of the Second Ecumenical Vatican Council, it seemed urgent to me that some clarity be created by answering authoritatively the question about the continuity of this council with the other councils (this time not simply by declaring it so but by proposing a genuine demonstration), the question about its fidelity to the Tradition of the Church.”  …
It's an impressive group of men.

The signatures of almost 50 Catholic leaders follow, among them:
Prof. Paolo Pasqualucci, professor of philosophy; Msgr. Brunero Gherardini, dean of the Italian theologians, professor of Ecclesiology; Msgr. Antonio Livi, professor emeritus of epistemology at the Lateran University; Prof. Roberto de Mattei, Università Europea di Roma; Prof. Luigi Coda Nunziante, personally and in his capacity as president of the association Famiglia Domani; Dr. Paolo Deotto, chairman of Riscossa Cristiana (www.riscossa cristiana.it); Prof. Piero Vassallo, professor of philosophy, co-chairman of Riscossa Cristiana; Dr. Virginia Coda Nunziante; Dr. Pucci Cipriani; Fr. Marcello Stanzione and the entire Militia of St. Michael the Archangel;  Prof. Dante Pastorelli, Governor of the Venerable Confraternity of St. Jerome and St. Francis of Assisi in San Filippo Benizi, Florence, and president of Una Voce (Florence); Calogero Cammarata, president of Inter Multiplices Una Vox (Turin); Dr. Cristina Siccardi – Castiglione Torinese (TO); Dr. Carlo Manetti – Castiglione Torinese (TO); Alessandro Gnocchi; Mario Palmaro; Mario Crisconio, Knight of the Order of Malta, Governor of the Pio Monte della Misericordia (Naples), president of Una Voce (Naples); Enrico Villari, Ph.D., engineer (Naples); Marcello Paratore, professor of philosophy (Naples); Giuseppe De Vargas Machuca, First Governor of the Reale Arciconfraternità e Monte del SS. Sacramento dei Nobili Spagnoli (Naples); Giovanni Turco, university professor, president de la International Thomas Aquinas Society, Naples division;  Giovanni Tortelli, writer, research specialist in canon law and Church history (Florence).
This Petition is promoted by the website of Riscossa cristiana , with the text in Italian. (Subheadings and translation : DICI no. 242 dated October 14, 2011)

Did the Covering Fire of the SSPX Have Any Effect on Assisi?

Edit: This will expand gradually throughout the day, with citations concerning the Assisi Meeting from various sources concerning reactions to it.

[From kreuz.net] The Axiom >>No Salvation Outside the Catholic Church<<, which will be quoted eternally valid is not a doctrine in its historical origin, rather its a warning against division. The statement, which was also used as a missionary appeal to the >>heathen<<, had a multi-faceted historical impact, before it was formulated into dogma at the Council of Florence in 1442. In any case it is balanced out by other expressions of the teaching office of the Church. So it was that Pope Clemens IX. considered the statement >>outside of the Church there is no Grace<< in 1713 in the context of the controversy with the Jansenists as erroneous, which said that definitively calculated the possibility of salvation for heterodox and non-believers. The Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) adopted an expressly universalist perspective and opted for a dialogical opening toward the non-Christian religions, without weakening the truth claims of the Christian religion."

From an article by Viennese dogmatic theologian, Jan-Heiner Tück (41)in the Swiss paper ‘Neue Zürcher Zeitung’.

Children Are Crucified to Force Christians to Leave Iraq

Edit: found a decent translation on google with some minor corrections.

The ultimate source for this story is Pointe de Bascule. It was picked up from a Royalist website from France.

Muslim militants are crucifying children to terrorize their Christian parents and encourage them to flee Iraq, yesterday was told a parliamentary committee studying the persecution of religious minorities.

Since the beginning of the war in 2003, about 12 children, some as young as 10, were abducted and killed, then nailed to makeshift crosses near their homes to terrify and torment their parents.

The Committee was informed that a child has been snatched, decapitated, burned and left on the doorstep of his mother.

Filham Isaac, speaking on behalf of the Advocacy Committee Nineveh, told the committee of human rights as the Christian churches in Iraq were bombed, clergy murdered and unveiled women were raped or marked the acid.

This is part of a systemic campaign - and very effective it is- of the ethnic cleansing of non-Muslims in the region, he said. Chaldean and Assyrian Christians, known as the Assyro-Chaldeans, were once the largest Christian minority in Iraq. They are also the oldest, being the descendants of ancient Mesopotamians who adopted Christianity in the first century.

The Chaldean Catholic Church, the Syrian Catholic Church, the Syriac Orthodox Church and the Eastern Church are among the Christian churches in Iraq.

Today, about 300,000 Christians, or one out of three, fled, he said.

"It's a crisis point," said Zaya Oshana later, a colleague of Mr. Isaac. "Christians will be completely destroyed."

However, the Assyro-Chaldeans do not want to leave their country en masse.

Instead, they seek help to inhabit the plains of Nineveh in the north-western Iraq, where they can have some independence and form their own state. The land is rich, and could also be oil.

There is some support in the U.S. and Europe for the area independently, and international news show that over 700 police officers have begun training to protect Christians in Iraq, but another 4000 would be necessary to secure full region and establish checkpoints on all highways and roads in the villages.
