To the Catholic Bishops: Open the Churches and Make Amends - NOW!

By David Martin

The recent closure of Catholic churches over the coronavirus is pathetic and absurd, since it works against our public health and safety. It is an indictment of our times that supermarkets, liquor stores, abortion mills and transportation lines are allowed to operate while churches have been forced to shut down, thanks to the pope and bishops who are taking orders from the state, not from God.

Attending Mass is every bit as "essential" as these busy-body activities, so why have the bishops ordered the churches locked? To please a bureaucratic body of atheists who are using COVID-19 to shut down religion?

The bishops need to open the churches to give the Church a fighting chance to offset the diabolical darkness that is fast closing in. They must not allow the Antichrist-state to shut down the Church, wherein is contained the only source for our victory—the Mass and Eucharist—but must open the doors and let the Church's light shine that it might dispel the darkness.

Pope Gregory Ended the Plague in Rome

Let them follow the lead of St. Gregory the Great, who in 591 ended the plague in Rome by carrying in procession a picture of the Virgin Mary painted by St. Luke the Apostle. The Abbot Orsini wrote: "On this day, in the year 591 (April 25), St. Gregory the Great, having had the picture of Our Lady, which was painted by St. Luke, carried in procession, the plague ceased at Rome."

The pope understood that the plague was a chastisement from God, and encouraged the faithful to repent of their sins and pray for deliverance, while he and the religious cared for the people of Rome. Finally, the saint called for a procession to take place at dawn on April 25th. On that day the faithful first assembled in their groups throughout Rome and then walked through the streets of the city praying and singing as they approached the church of Saint Mary Major. The plague was so potent at that time that eighty people collapsed and died as they walked toward the meeting place.

Pope Gregory met them upon their arrival, joining them in prayer as he took his place with them holding aloft the miraculous image of Our Lady painted by Saint Luke the Evangelist. As the procession neared the Vatican, the participants all saw Saint Michael the Archangel standing upon the cupola of Hadrian’s Mausoleum as he sheathed his flaming sword. It was a sign that the chastisement had come to an end, and at once the heaviness in the air abated and the air itself seemed to freshen and clear. The plague indeed had ended as the faithful rejoiced and lifted up their voices to thank the Mother of God. "Regina Coeli laetare, Alleluia! (Queen of heaven, rejoice, Alleluia!) Quia quem meruisti portare, Alleluia! (Son whom you merited to bear, Alleluia!) Resurrexit sicut dixit, Alleluia! (He has risen as He said, Alleluia!)

Why hasn't Pope Francis and his cardinals shown this same humility? The COVID-19 crisis is a punishment for sin, especially the sins in the Church, but unfortunately the Church is not responding to this chastisement.

Clerical Repentance Needed

What God expects is for the pope and bishops to open up the churches and go upon their knees, acknowledging sincerely that their manifold sins against the Faith—Communion in the hand, ecumenism, socializing in church, bowing to Pachamama, colluding with U.N. pro-abortion advocates, allowing women on the altar, appointing homosexuals to clerical positions—have brought this plague upon us. According to Bishop Schneider, the Eucharist has been trampled underfoot for the past fifty years through the pestilent practice of Communion in the hand. Is it any wonder that we're being punished?

Now is the time to make amends, so a healthy amendment is for clergy and laity to make public reparation in the churches, confessing sincerely that they have offended by their modern-day attempts to change the Catholic Church. The present crisis is a wake-up call to either cleanse the Church of modernism or suffer a just punishment in the form of communist oppression and slavery.

Already, the storm clouds of socialism are gathering, so this is no time to close the churches but to bring the people into the Church that they may be on their knees in reparation to God who is "much offended."

The choice is ours!

Is Bergoglio Going After Poland's Radio Maryja Next?

Radio Maryja, the idiosyncratic Catholic radio station in Poland, is a thorn in the side of some.

(Rome) Since in Poland the Catholic national conservative party Law and Justice (PiS) is in power, the country is "under observation" by the EU. In Brussels, political forces set the tone, which are much further to the left and can hardly stand it when the sovereign electorate chooses other political forces. In turn, the EU Commission, the EU Parliament or the EU jurisdiction and, of course, the Western media, both Poland's and Hungary's government are disparaged as a "dirty children" of the "community."  The aim of the permanent pressure is either to induce the government to give in or to urge the electorate to choose a government to the left. Does the Vatican also participate in this under Pope Francis?

Specifically, it's about the radio station Radio MaryjaIn 1991, soon after the end of Communist rule, a launched station was started that was modeled upon Radio Maria Italy . The founder and program director is the Redemptorist, Father Tadeusz Rydzyk. With the so-called “world family” of the Radio Maria stations, however, there was a split in the mid-1990s. In the Federal Republic of Germany in particular, efforts were made to keep a distance because of a different approach to one's own history. Radio Maryja is one of the five most listened to channels in Poland. In contrast to the other Radio Maria stations,  Fr. Rydzyk  pursued - since Poland had just over 40 years of an anti-church Communist dictatorship -   a political line and cultivated clearer language.

This was mainly due to the fact that the dictatorship had been overcome, but that the former Communist rulers outside the government and parliament were still at many levers, not least in the judiciary. Under the changed name, they even briefly returned to power in the 1990s. The way to overcome the dictatorship personally and above all, spiritually proved to be long and rocky.

The radio station, to which the TV station TV Trwam now belongs, supports the PiS without, however, becoming dependent. From left media, especially the left-liberal Gazeta Wyborcza, has repeatedly campaigned against the channel. A look at the German Wikipedia page provides an insight into this.
But the Church hierarchy was not always happy with the broadcaster, which has more to do with its independent willfulness. Pope Benedict XVI congratulated Radio Maryja on its 20th anniversary.
The leftist opposition in Poland, but also outside, is a thorn in the side because of its Catholic and conservative positions and even more because of its influence on public opinion. The most recent attempt to silence the transmitter has just started.

According to Wirtualna Polska, a mainstream medium owned by France Telecom, a request to the Vatican Secretariat of State was sent in December 2019 on "limiting" the political positioning of Radio MaryjaThe transmitter should have a purely "religious character."
.
The initiators of the claim, an Adam N. and a Witek M., remain anonymous. They sent their petition to the Vatican in several languages through Canadian middlemen. Wirtualna Polska is one of the mass media, of which Radio Maryja has been attacked in the past. In 2018, a Warsaw court sentenced the online portal to apologize to P. Rydzyk for spreading false allegations.

According to La Fede Quotidiana the request to the Vatican to proceed against Radio Maryja  was treated on March 26 by Pope Francis. He asked Msgr. Roberto Cona of the Secretary of State to review the matter and prepare a response.

A central role in the new attack on the conservative radio station is played by the Polish-Canadian politician Thomas Lukaszuk who actively supported the petition against Radio MaryjaThe internet portal onet.pl , with good connections to Lukaszuk, promoted the petition to the Vatican for a long time last year. Onet.pl is largely owned by Ringier Axel Springer Media AG and is comparable to Web.de and Gmx.at in the left- justification of news reporting .

Lukaszuk's father had fled to Canada from Communist Poland. In 1982 his family was also able to follow him. Thomas Lukaszuk was a member of Parliament in Alberta from 2001 to 2015. From 2010 to 2014, he was Minister of the Government of the Canadian state, including 2012/2013 as Deputy Prime Minister.

Two More Accusers Come Forward Against Pell

For decades, 53-year-old Bernie* kept the secrets of his childhood deeply buried.
As a boy growing up in a Ballarat orphanage in the 1970s, Bernie told the ABC's Revelation program that he was abused on multiple occasions by George Pell, then a priest in the diocese of Ballarat.
For years Bernie was convinced that if he reported the abuse, he would not be believed.
"I would hear Pell's become Bishop," Bernie says.
"Pell's become Archbishop. Pell's become a Cardinal. Who's gonna believe a little boy from a home against that conglomerate? You know against that bloody goliath?"

Pell to Go Free -- Conviction Overturned

[smh] Cardinal George Pell will be freed from jail after the High Court overturned his conviction for historic child sex offences.
The stunning High Court intervention in Australia’s most contentious case of alleged clerical abuse will reverberate from Canberra to the Vatican and among abuse survivors in Melbourne and Ballarat.
It will also trigger a searing examination of how Victoria’s criminal justice system allowed the case against Cardinal Pell to proceed so far on evidence which, according to the unanimous view of all seven High Court judges, could not support a guilty verdict.
"The jury, acting rationally on the whole of the evidence, ought to have entertained a doubt as to the applicant's guilt with respect to each of the offences for which he was convicted,'' the court said in a summary judgment published on Tuesday morning.

US Bishops Forbid Sign of Cross

The U.S. bishops announced on Friday that the sign of the cross would no longer be permitted. The precaution was instituted to protect Catholics who might accidentally stick their fingers in their eyes and blind themselves.

The latest announcement was the most recent of a series of changes—beginning with the indefinite suspension of all public Masses and the abolition of meatless Fridays in Lent—designed to bring the Barque of Peter in line with the latest developments in Catholic theology. As Archbishop Wilton Gregory of Washington, D.C., explained in a pastoral letter, “The first priority of the Church is the physical safety of her flock. It is better for you to be thrown into fiery Gehenna than to enter into life with one eye.”

Government authorities enthusiastically welcomed the new change. California Gov. Gavin Newsom said, “We had to sue the Little Sisters of the Poor and get a court order to force them to violate their consciences and buy contraceptives. The bishops are much easier to work with. They’re really greasing the skids on the slippery slope to a religion-free America.”

Pope Drops “Vicar of Christ”

April 2, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – In a surprise move, Pope Francis has dropped the historic and essential title “Vicar of Christ” from the 2020 Pontifical Yearbook, the Holy See’s annual directory, relegating the title to a footnote, calling it a “historical title.”

While previous yearbooks listed the title “Vicar of Christ” and the name of the reigning Pope under that title, this year’s annual directory simply lists the name “Jorge Mario Bergoglio,” the name of the man who became Pope Francis in 2013. A photo of this year’s yearbook was published by Rome-based journalist Marco Tosatti.

Cardinal Gerhard Müller, former prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, called the change “theological barbarism.”

Latin Americas Bishops Consecrate Continent to the Protection of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Marian celebration on the occasion of the threat of the coronavirus pandemic on Easter Sunday in the Guadalupe Basilica of Mexico City and in the local churches

Rome (kath.net/KAP) The Council of Latin American Episcopal Conferences (CELAM) is taking an extraordinary step to solicit intercession for the "early end of the pandemic" together with the Bishops of Mexico (CEST), Latin America and the Caribbean are dedicated to the Mother of God of Guadalupe, who is also the patron saint of the continent, said the Roman news service "Fides" on Wednesday. The main event is at the Guadalupe Basilica in Mexico City.

The current situation requires that "as shepherds we see and hear the suffering of our peoples and awaken hope by looking at our mother in heaven," said CELAM President Miguel Cabrejos Vidarte, Archbishop of Trujillo. All countries in Latin America and the Caribbean are invited to join the celebration through the media. At the same time, the bells of all churches should ring.

The program of the celebration initially includes the prayer of a "missionary rosary for the health of people on the five continents." The Easter service will follow and at the end there is the act of consecration of the continent to "Our Lady of Guadalupe." The contemplation of the Mother of Jesus strengthens faith and hope, and it also strengthens "that we use love based on solidarity, especially for those who today feel sick, pain, poverty, loneliness, fear or unrest," says the CELAM letter.

The decision of the bishops was preceded by several appeals to the Virgin Mary by Latin American presidents in the wake of the Corona crisis, including Colombia's head of state Ivan Duque. In Paraguay, President Mario Abdo Benitez, in El Salvador his counterpart Nayib Bukele, and in Mexico Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador called for prayers. US President Donald Trump declared March 15th the "National Day of Prayer" in his country when the Coronavirus pandemic began.

Protector in distress

The consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary is a form of piety of the Catholic Church. Individuals or groups, churches, monasteries, dioceses or even nations are entrusted to the intercession of Mary and her special protection. The consecration of the Virgin Mary is practiced frequently, but not only in exceptional situations.

Traditional Marian piety sees Mary as a protector in distress. In many devotional pictures and works of art history, she is depicted with a protective coat under which those in need find refuge. Pope John Paul II (1978-2005) has consecrated the whole of humanity to the Blessed Mother several times, which Pope Pius XII. did in 1942. There were also several consecrations of the Virgin Mary in Austria, most recently on Thursday of the previous week - the Feast of the Annunciation - the consecration of Tyrol by Bishop Hermann Glettler.

Bishop Schneider: Priests do not have to obey bishops’ orders to suspend Mass over COVID-19

By David Martin

In response to Catholic bishops who are abusing their power by ordering the suspension of Masses over COVID-19, Bishop Athanasius Schneider has said that a priest, observing due prudence and following necessary health precautions, "has not to obey the directives of his bishop or the government to suspend Mass for the faithful."

He has also criticized episcopal orders forbidding priests from visiting the sick and dying. "Such a prohibition is an abuse of power. Christ did not give a bishop the power to forbid visiting the sick and dying. A true priest will do everything he can to visit a dying person."

Schneider laments how "the prevailing majority of bishops" have reacted "precipitously and out of panic in prohibiting all public Masses and – what is even more incomprehensible – in closing churches."

He says that "Such bishops” have "reacted more like civil bureaucrats than shepherds. In focusing too exclusively on all the hygienic protective measures, they have lost a supernatural vision and have abandoned the primacy of the eternal good of souls."

"A quasi-pathological fear has overcome common reason and a supernatural vision," He adds.

Bishop Schneider is certainly justified in what he says. It is an indictment of our times that supermarkets, liquor stores, abortion mills and transportation lines are allowed to operate while churches are required to shut down. Attending Mass is every bit as "essential" as these busy-body activities, so why have the churches been ordered locked? "One could guarantee in churches the same and even better hygienic protective measures,” the bishop said.

IT IS GOOD to finally hear a religious leader say the truth. The state, under no condition, may impose rules on the Church, so that if it does—either directly or through fallen bishops—priests need not obey. The rule is that when obedience is going to mean committing a sin or fault, one must not obey, and this applies to laity as well.

Note that it is deep-state socialists like Bernie Sanders and California governor Gavin Newsom who are pushing this COVID-19 lockdown, which is every reason to resist it. The bishops have a solemn duty to stand firm in defense of the Church and instead they are bowing to political deities that are using them to close down the church. It appears that persecuting humanity under the guise of "public health and safety" is what this Coronavirus fuss is all about.

Chastisement for Sin

In the final analysis, the COVID-19 crisis is a punishment for sin, especially those of the Church.

Note that it isn't Beijing or Hong Kong that have been the hardest hit with COVID-19, but the relatively small town of Bergamo, Italy (pop. 122,000), the epicenter of the epidemic, where over 600 people are dying each day from the virus.

Interestingly, it was the bishop and diocese of Bergamo that published the prayer to Pachamama on its website and that Pope Francis and his cardinals used in venerating the idol during the Amazonian Synod that convened Oct. 6-27.

Note too, that the Coronavirus first began infecting people in Wuhan just around the time when Francis and his cardinals were "praying" before the idol in Rome. It appears that Rome’s profanation of the temple is what spawned this plague!

Unfortunately, the Church is not responding to this chastisement. What God expects is for bishops and priests to open up the churches and go upon their knees, acknowledging sincerely that their manifold sins against the Faith—Communion in the hand, ecumenism, socializing in church, bowing to Pachamama, colluding with U.N. pro-abortion advocates, allowing women on the altar, appointing homosexuals to clerical positions—have brought this plague upon us. According to Bishop Schneider, the Eucharist has been trampled underfoot for the past fifty years though the pestilent practice of Communion in the hand.

Lenten Repentance Needed

Lent is a time to make amends, so a healthy amendment is for clergy and laity to make public reparation in the churches, confessing sincerely that they have offended by their modern-day attempts to change the Catholic Church.

Bishop Schneider says that "A worldwide chain of monstrances carrying the Eucharistic Lord through the streets of this world could be launched. Such mini-Eucharistic processions, even if carried out only by a bishop or a priest alone, will implore graces of physical and spiritual healing and conversion."

Six Italian Nuns Die of Chinese Flu

.- Six sisters in one northern Italian convent have died of coronavirus, and nine sisters are being treated in the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, according to Italian media. Coronavirus is spreading among several religious houses in Italy.

An outbreak in the Little Missionary Sisters of Charity Mother House in Tortona, Italy led half of its 40 sisters to test positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.

“Many times as Little Missionary Sisters of Charity we have set ourselves the goal of sharing the lives of the poor and the least, the fragile lives,” Sister Gabriella Perazzi told Vatican News.

Plague Crucifix “Explodes” as it is Exposed to Rain During Urbi et Orbi

VATICAN CITY (ChurchMilitant.com) - A "miraculous crucifix," which survived a fire in 1519 and halted the great plague of Rome in 1522, has suffered potentially irreparable damage after being exposed to pouring rain for over two hours during Pope Francis' special Urbi et Orbi blessing in St. Peter's Square on Friday. The wood on the sculpture tumefied and "exploded" as the rainwater penetrated the priceless work of art. The stuccos in various places used to plaster-coat the body of Jesus were severely eroded and much of the ancient light paint was wiped off the wood. The tempera pigments used by the artist to paint the blood flowing from the side of Jesus was also  undone. Ripples have formed on the wooden surface on the hair and details on the arms are ruined.

The artifact, from the 14th century Sienese School, is housed at the Church of San Marcello al Corso, where it escaped destruction when a fire destroyed the church on May 22, 1519. This miracle gave birth to a prayer group called "Company of the Holy Crucifix."

Archbishop Cupich is Banning Baptisms

Edit: Cupich is evilly using the Coronavirus to further attack the Sacraments.

CHICAGO, March 27, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) ― The Archdiocese of Chicago, under the leadership of Cardinal Blase Cupich, has reportedly told its priests that all baptisms “must be postponed” in response to the coronavirus pandemic and that even an “emergency” baptism requires the “permission” of the bishop.
In an analysis published yesterday, Ed Condon and J.D. Flynn of Catholic News Agency (CNA) reported that Archbishop Cupich’s priests “have been told that during the (coronavirus) pandemic, the emergency celebration of baptism requires permission of the bishop ― despite canonical norms permitting anyone, even a layperson, to celebrate baptism in a true emergency.”
LifeSiteNews has been informed that this policy has not been publicly posted. However, when challenged by Twitter users, Condon posted parts of a document, including a paragraph stating, “All weddings and baptisms must be postponed and can be rescheduled only when the order is lifted. There is no exception to this, regardless of the size of the group. However, in case of an extreme emergency for baptism, please seek the permission of your bishop.”
