"Harlem Shake" Liturgy in Regensburg

Update:  Harlem Shake has been cancelled, but instead of announcing the resignation of the priest, the Vicar General of Regensburg has said that a discussion will be held in the church instead.  As one commenter said, why does this “discussion” have to be held inside the Church?

Edit: your trusty SSPX is ever vigilant for these kinds if things to help other Catholics who are faithful to Rome in the former Diocese of Archbishop Mueller.

(Piusinfo.net) Pastor Michael Hirner of the Catholic Parish Church of Herz-Jesu in Teublutz (Diocese if Regensburg) is planning a desecration of its church.
On Facebook, the youth are called to get costumed and come to church on the 16th of March to dance a "Harlem Shake" (see photo) .

Here is a public invitation by Pastor Hirner on FB:

Teublutz, Freedom Place, Parish Church

Harlem Shake – Saturday 16. March 2pm, Teublitz Parish Church. We're going to do a Harlem Shake in the church. We will hold liturgy, in which the Harlem Shake will be danced. – We'll need a lot of participants for that - It would be really super if many could come. – Important!!!! Please bring masks and costumes of every kind along. We want to make a video and put it on YouTube.–

The Facebook site can be seen here as it is depicted.

As for the question of Pius.info readers who might ask, "what is a Harlem Shake?"

Harlem Shake is a song with elements of Hip Hop and Trap Scene. This song, available for free on the Internet since 2012, is connected to this phenomenon:

In February of 2013, there was a video in which a part of the Harlem Shake can be heard in this example with 40,000 views:

Accordingly the course of this view is always the same: thus the video always runs the same course: a group which appears accidentally together (flashmob), which goes along in a relatively bored way on the usual activity, z.B. for example students in a classroom. Suddenly grotesquely masked youth begin to dance to the music of Harlem Shake, and in the next scene one sees the group dancing in jerky movements to the music.

Pastor Hirmer wants to conduct this clearly in the church. That will also involve the desecration of the church space at the same time.

We ask your support:

Write only in a polite and respectful way (despite Fr Hirmer's scandalous intentions)
Schreiben Sie wie immer höflich und nicht verletztend and point out this sacrilege.

Arson in Three Churches in Lower Austria as Yet Unsolved

Anti-Clerical incitement of hate in Austria for the last years has brought first "fruits".

On the 23rd of December 2012 three churches in the city of Amstetten were set afire.  The area with over 2,300 inhabitants it situated in western Lower Austria.

The most seriously damaged is the church of the Franciscan School Sisters.  The fire spread from the confessional to five pews.  The church will have to be closed for half a year for the clearing away of the burn damage and the complete renovation.

In the two other churches (city parish church and Herz Jesu Kirche) the damage is less.

A police drawing of the suspects has been published.

New Evangelization Necessary

Diocesan Bishop Klaus Kung stressed in his sermon for the year's end of 2012 the necessity of "a renewed (new) effort for the spreading of the Gospel."

Thus is "everyone, who is close to the mysteries of our Faith know, what they require and correspondingly prepare", what is obviously no longer the case.

The superficiality of the knowledge of the Catholic Faith in the wake of the Second Vatican Council (or better: the abuses in the name of the Council) is no longer concealable by the Bishops any longer.

Also its "disquieting phenomenona" like the disturbing of the peace in St. Pöltener Cathedral by the ORF  recently about "Pussy Riot" -- as a copy or the people's eagerness against the alleged ecclesiastical privileges are a sign of a "certain change of mood" in the land.

UK Priest Turns Church Into Profane Hall

"When we enter ornate and clean Basilicas, adorned with crosses, sacred images, altars, and burning lamps, we most easily conceive devotion. But, on the other hand, when we enter the temples of the heretics, where there is nothing except a chair for preaching and a wooden table for making a meal, we feel ourselves to be entering a profane hall and not the house of God" -St. Robert Bellarmine (Octava Controversia Generalis, liber II, Controversia Quinta, caput XXXI).
An Anglican So Broad He's Completely Flat

Edit: Jesus might have attended festivities and cheered sinful guests in an edifying way, but he didn't turn the Holy of Holies into a beer garden.  The same priest has used a bar for Mass last year.

Thousands of real ale lovers are being welcomed into an East Yorkshire church for a beer festival.
The Hull Real Ale and Cider Festival is being held at Holy Trinity Church, in the city centre, for the first time.
Pioneer minister the Reverend Matt Woodcock said he thought it was the kind of event Jesus would have enjoyed.

Cardinal Says: Communion in the Hand Increases Risk of Sacrilege

Edit: High ranking clergy are now saying things that certain Catholics have been attacking for years.

Italy's Churches Are Confronted With a Rash of Eucharist Theft

Rome (kath.net/pl) The Catholic Church in Italy has been confronted for months with the theft of Holy Eucharist.  It involves broken tabernacles, pilfered ciboria filled with consecrated Hosts as well as the abuse of communion in the hand, in which some put the Holy Eucharist in a handbag for unknown purposes.  The motives of the perpetrators are discussed:  deliberate sacrileges by Muslims?  Or for use by Satanic cults in black Masses?  This was reported by "Vatican Insider".

The Catholic community foresees itself as being forced to take countermeasures.   In some areas the tabernacle is emptied  and left open, in order to guard against theft. The almighty Himself will be kept in a more secure place, so in the meantime He must be stored in a safe, offers "Vatican Insider."  Salvatore Di Cristina, Archbishop of Monreale,. Sizily, has already favored a "hard line" against the criminals.

The Cardinal and canon lawyer Velasio De Paolis explained that sacrileges against the Eucharist are among the most serious of offenses and that these crimes receive the condemnation of excommunication "latae sententiae",  which can only be lifted by the Holy See.  De Paolis holds that even communion in the hand offers an increased risk that the Eucharist can be taken away, profaned or kept for a sacrilegious purpose.

The list of offenses is long.  Two Muslims received the Eucharist from a priest in Sondrio, but they didn't consume it, rather put it in their hand bags.  According to information from police reports, there is a boom in satanic cults.  Filled pyxes, for example, have been stolen in San Giovanni in Bosco/Vasto, filled ciboria in San Vio/ paestum, consecrated Hosts disappeared from the hospital Church of Biancavilla/Katania, the community of Santa Caterina dello Ionia was the target of a night-time attack.  Here and in many other Eucharistic thefts, empty tabernacles, which have been violently forced open with burglar's tools, is the order of the day.

Anti-Catholic Baltimore Sun "Weighs" in on Blasphemous Bar

Many Will be as Shocked as Belshazzar Was
Definition Hypocrisy: The practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform; pretense.

Edit: most of the world isn't going to understand the significance of the Mass, that it's the unbloody commemoration of the sacrifice of Christ on Calvary, the most sacred event a Catholic can experience in this life. What is a sacrilege? A sacrilege is a deliberate, or otherwise, confusion of divine and profane categories. At a bar in Baltimore, the rituals, ministers and symbols of Catholicism are offered as accompaniments to carousing and boozing.
Disgraceful!

The owner doesn't plan on honoring the concerns of Catholics who do object to this sacrilege, and the anti-Clerical Baltimore Sun has written an article sympathetic of those who have no respect for Catholicism, and despite spending their lives being educated in Catholic schools have almost no understanding of the importance of the symbols that they hold in contempt.

In all fairness, we must also mention that these objects are no longer conseecrated, most likely, although they may have been purchased as part of a sacrilege from E-BAY.

In any event, what gets lost in the shuffle is that Catholic rituals and Catholic beliefs are held up to ridicule here. That owner insists that he intends no disrespect, but the lie is given to that in his public comments and the rude way he treats those who call with concerns about his blasphemy.

His patrons share his contempt for Catholic things, and they can be seen in blogs and comment boxes, building on to the offense which is this bar.

They refer to those who hold revere these symbols and don't want to see them manifestly disrespected (as they clearly are in the personal testimonies on the site and in the comments section on the first article we featured on this place) as "nut balls".  Anti-Catholic paper writes:
Tom and Mary Rivers, who opened Ale Mary's about seven years ago, say they've gotten about a dozen angry phone calls and about the same number of emails in the last week or so. And, as both of them were raised Catholic in Baltimore, [Are Baltimore Catholics less Catholic than elsewhere?  Being raised Catholic doesn't guarantee respect for others beliefs, apparently]  they still can't believe anyone would have a problem with what they consider fun decor. "With the exception of these nut balls I've had one person in seven years say this is kind of in bad taste," Tom Rivers said. "And that person still comes in here." The couple  says that all of their religious items were donated by customers, including the monstrance behind the bar.
Kiddish Cup
Despite the disrespectful photograph which appears in the article, the journalist in question who wrote it after appearing on the FB group "500,000 Against "Ale Mary's" Abuse of the Sacred and the Sublime", she is blissfully unaware of the strident hypocrisy.

Clearly, the owners of the bar and many of its patrons wouldn't be too happy if the things they find sacred or important were denigrated and held to ridicule in such ways. Imagine if a similar bar were in existence which featured and ridiculed Jews or Muslims. It's unlikely that a bar of this type would get insurance coverage, and would certain face closure.

In normal societies, like Singapore, for example,  such disrespectful behavior toward Catholicism isn't tolerated, actually, like Singapore, for example. Imagine if a bar were build around a Jewish house of worship, complete with mezuzah's, satirical pictures of respected Rabbis hanging on the wall? Imagine too if the beginning of Colt's games were signaled at the bar with a shofar horn? Or instead of chalices, imagine if patrons drank from kiddush cups?  How about a game of strip dreddle?  Two can play at that game!

Shofar Horn
Obviously, if you insult Jews or Muslims, it may not only be physically dangerous to do so, but you can also lose your liquor license and find yourself out of business for offending such as they. Since the state of journalism is so poor at the anti-Clerical paper, we've sought to augment it by our own contribution.

"Ale Mary" Dive Bar Uses Monstrance and Chalices for Drunken Revelries

Edit: A definition from Wikipedia is useful here: Blasphemy is irreverence towards religious or holy persons or things.[1] Some countries have laws to punish blasphemy,[2] while others have laws to give recourse to those who are offended by blasphemy.

[Fell's Point, Baltimore, MD] There was a show called "Cheers" on television years ago.  It was bawdy and vulgar yet there were some borders it was not safe to pass in the early 80s when the show first aired.  It depicted a homey place, reminiscent of an unpretentious neighborhood bar with a hint of old world ambiance and Boston charm.  The heavy wooden furniture and the bar spoke of permanence, elegance,  and  that favorite piety of secular artists, human dignity. It was not always clear who the show's buffoons were, but you knew them when you saw them, and sometimes, it was a comedic mailman who could be the most noble in the simplicity of his fears.  Some other writer said something about irony being lost on a society which had no shame.  That's why we'd like to wield a metaphorical hammer.  Perhaps there are others who can put a better finish on the details of what we will tell.

Satirical painting: priest displeased with Nun?
All we can say is that sometimes evil is really mundane and some of us don't realize that we're not only bufoons needlessly offending  people's religious sensibilities, but far worse than that, we're offending God.  Even the name of the bar, a pun on the Blessed Mother's name seems calculated to be offensive.

Would you like some candy?
We're not talking about this place, but it's not far from Boston, but it boasts a similar unmistakable charm you'd expect in New England with friendly folks. One of the features of the bar, and there are many, is its unmistakable Catholic ambiance. It's called, Ale Mary's and is located in Fell's point Maryland. One can just smell the faint aroma of the ocean as you think about it. The food is inexpensive, but if you're Catholic you might find it too expensive for the peace of your conscience to see the sacramental elements of your religion appear for the sake of decoration in peculiarly deliberate ways.
Chalices Used for Holy Sacrifice Being Abused by Patrons

It's not surprising, but it's not acceptable either that chalices which are used in Catholic Mass for the consecration of wine which becomes the blood of Christ, are used by patrons to drink (and get drunk from). They're made of precious metals, sometimes jewels, but their use in such a secular setting is strange and unsettling. No less than the inexplicable painting of a priest with a stole, looking aghast or in surprise at a nun who has her back to him. The most disturbing thing in the restaurant is the monstrance which is behind the bar used as decoration. The monstrance is large ornate disk, often resembling the sun, which is surmounted in a long stand with a heavy base. It contains a crystal compartment at the center of the disk where a consecrated communion Host can be placed inside and it allows the priest to elevate the entire object by the stand for the veneration of the Sacrament it contains. Seeing this monstrance here in this bar, covered with mardigras beads and a mustached smiley face where the Host would normally be is a little bit like finding family heirlooms in the hands of people who not only use them for purposes for which they were never intended, but use them in disrespectful ways.
Mustached Smiley Face Seems Particularly Malevolent
We found out about this recently and the individual who sent this to us wrote an e-mail complaining about the display of these religious items and even offered to purchase them. Far from being treated with the respect she deserved, her concerns were met with derision.

Despite the bar owner claiming that no one cared about this clearly blasphemous display of religious artifacts, he asked her to remove an entry she made under the bar at a public site allowing comment on establishments. As he berated our friend, the proprietor insisted as an argument to justify his sacrilege and disrespect for Catholic sacramentals, that there were even Bishops and priests who thought that his blasphemous inclusion of religious articles was comical and that there was nothing wrong with this display.

Apparently, there's some truth to what he says, because Catholic clergy, including senior, does frequent this place.

We'll be praying a Rosary in reparation for having seen this blasphemy.  Hopefully, the proprietor can be persuaded to part with these items before word of this affects his business either spiritually or financially.

Ireland's Heart Has Been Stolen

Edit this Saint died in the 12th century in Normandy.   His heart has rested undisturbed in Dublin Cathedral  for  seven centuries until now where it was the site of many miracles and the edification of droves of Ireland's faithful.
[RTE] The Cathedral was opened at 9.30am, to no alarm activation and no sign of any break-in.
The heart was believed to be stolen between last night and noon today.
The Heart of St Laurence O'Toole was kept in a wooden heart shaped container sealed within a small iron barred box.

Cardinal Schönborn's Restaurant Mass

Editor:  Somebody told us that the campaign we've been participating in about Cardinal Schönborn would never catch on.  Well, at least Mundabor caught the ++Schönborn bug.

Actually, we very seldom have to explain to people we meet who are Catholic about the Danube Prelate.  Even Jimmy Akin's ten gallon hat probably knows by now.  Hey, beating up on Father Corapi takes a lot of energy. You can only cover "important" events, dontcha know.

You'd thought you'd heard everything.  Now it's a Restaurant Mass.  At least there's no polka band.   The Heurigen where this took is a place where you can drink wine made on the premises. It's got good food, but  they serve a tough wine to drink and a bit on the bitter side, rather like gall.  We've been to this Heurigen in a suburb of Vienna, near a Church where Franz Schubert played one of his beautiful Masses.

As the gloria.tv reports, this was done with Cardinal Schönborn's approval.

Austria.  On the Sunday before last Pastor Norbert Ritt von Grinzing in the Archdiocese of Vienna celebrated a new Mass in a restaurant.  This was according to the neo-Conservative videosite, 'gloria.tv'.  The divine service was part of a series under the title, Heuerigenmesse [Heurigen Mass].  Every fourth Sunday in the Summer, Father Ritt celebrates Sunday Mass in the patio of the restaurant. After the Mass, the priest left the consecrated Hosts in ciboria on the dinner table.  After a long while, a woman took the Hosts -- along with other utensils like the Mass book, baskets, the loud speaker -- in a plastic crate.  The crate was filled with the All Holy and all the other objects were piled in on top of It or next to It and it was dumped in the passenger seat of a car.

This new Mass was held at the Restaurant, despite the fact that there was a beautiful church conveniently two or three blocks away.

Communion in the Hand Results in Sacrilege: "Moto Mass Switzerland"

Ehhhh, Moto Mass

One Communicant even tried to get seven Hosts.

The Conciliar Church has thrown Holy Communion to the dogs: Now they must live with it.

(kreuz.net) A motorcyle blessing with Holy Mass will take place on the Simplon-Pass on the 1st of May.

The Pass connects the south-west Swiss Canton Wallis with Italy.

According to a report from the Swiss newspaper 'Blick', the occasion of the Motorcycle Friends is "almost holy already".
Moto Mass

It will be organized by the Moto-Club of Simplon and will have been taking place for its 25th occasion this year.

About 4500 bikers appear every year for the event.

In the past years there was a New Mass said by the Old Liberal homosexual ideologue, Pastor Charly Weissen.

Fr. Weissen likes to appear there as the top dog -- most of all in his bike gear.

He wears earrings and a handlebar mustache.

A natural consequence of Communion in the Hand

This years bicycle blessing happens "under a bad star" -- lamented 'Blick' yesterday.

This is because the secular priest, Paul Martone of Brig, celebrated the divine service last year -- and was appalled.

At the news daily, 'Walliser Bote' he called the affair an "unworthy spectacle".

Why?: Many cyclists received the Host with a cigarette between their fingers.

There was also alcohol being consumed during the Eucharistic celebration.

One visitor tried to get seven Hosts.

From these sacrileges, Father Martone drew his own conclusions and wants to be saying only a liturgy of the word.

But NO, the Legend must Continue

Actually, the Moto-Club Simplon has no such concern:

"For more than a thousand visitors the participation of a few people, don't rate to have themselves receive anything more than the highest Liturgy in the Church" -- said the club president appealingly for 'Blick'.

During the Service at Simplon, there's a 'disciplined quiet".

One request on the website of the Club made the point that over ninety percent of the members want a Mass.

For that reason the Club itself is seeking a willing priest.

He should be ready to give a simpl "Mass exhibition [sic]" on the Simplon.

The president will be heard to say, tellingly, that one is also desirous of a "supper".

"Condom" - Madonna: Still Being Defended by Freedom Party

The provocative exposition will be defended now as before by the Austrian Freedom Party.

St. Pölten (kath.net) In connection with the "art exhibit" in the National House of Lower Austria, the FPO National Council, Walter Rosenkranz is making a statement to the State Attorney General of St. Polten.   An Australian "artist" has put an oversized condom on a Marian statue and has covered it also with mock semen, which has till recently been on display at the Capital.

The FPO National Counsel maintained in his statement on § 188 of the penal code, in which the cases, of  "the villification of religious teachings, pratcies and symbols" the following is provided:  "Whoever publicly vilifies or ridicules a person or symbol, which is the object of honor of an existing church in this country, and whose conduct is the incitement of legitimate anger, is to be punished with up to six months of incarceration or receive a fine of up to 360 days at an established rate".   "The artist has in any case has acknowledged, a pubescent feeling as he defiled the Marian statue, which is important toward reaching the punitive judgment," says Rosenkranz

"the same stringent measures, which led to the immediate blocking of an internet site, which touched on the scope of a computer game which had a stop button making mosques disappear, must also be applied in this case,"  included Rosenkranz.  "The State Attorney of Saint Pölten must then decide, if these blasphemous pseudo-artworks will be removed and put in a safe area."  What in any case however is also to be clarified, is, who in general in the exercize of Haus rules in the Lower Austrian court had allowed the display of the respective object.  "This person is an accessory to the crime", says Rosenkranz.

The News Just Noticed: "What's a Dancer Doing in the Basilica?"

Actually, completely acceptable: The versatile altar space with the supper table can also be used as a dance floor.

[kreuz.net] Actually, Msgr Konrad Zdarsa was already named as Bishop of Augsburg on July 8th. In reality he will occupy his office on the 23rd of October - much later as prescribed by Catholic canon law.

According to Canon 418, Paragraph 1, the installed Bishop must succeed within two Months.

Meanwhile the mice are dancing in his new Diocese on the graves of its Episcopal patrons.

This was reported by the daily 'Augsburg Allgemeine' on the 4th of October with the title: "What is the Dancer Doing in the Basilica?".

"With her dancer's movements and in the language of pantomime, dancer Gabriele Hofweberin, at the Baslica of Saint Ulrich and Afra, told her story in various organ pieces, reported Peter Bader."

The Basilica is an Augsburg church. With its towers it is a thoroughly visible sign of the southern old city.

There are sarcophagi containing the bones of the Bishop Saints: Ulrich, Afra and Simptertus.

The dancer wandered through the entire table-altar room, over the steps and along the aisles.

They were at first, according to reports from the news daily "understated" with two orange-red robes, then later, only with skimpy, black clad bodies were to be seen.

The reporter went crazy:

"The Admiration and devotion one infers from her figures, girlishly unencumbered joy of life and - to the Toccata of Theodore Dubois - a whole love story with a shy and bashful approach, luck, despair of rejection and finally, new hope and fresh laughter.“

The applause of spellbound audience followed „what was a fleet footed presentation“- and let there be no more doubt that the former Sacred Space had become a concert hall.
