Pro-Homosexual Activist Suspended at St. Mary's Basilica

Archbishop Nienstedt is serious about oppposing this non-sense and explaining the Catholic Faith. There's not much more to the story than what is cited below, but it is interesting that the "artist" who's been adorning the downtown Basilica with her creations for years has compared herself to Galileo.

[Minneapolis, Star Tribune] Lucinda Naylor, a Minneapolis artist and part-time church employee, was suspended from her job over a protest sculpture using antigay marriage DVDs distributed by the Catholic church.

The Catholic church began to mail the DVDs to 400,000 Catholics in Minnesota last week. They argue for a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage in the state.

According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Rev. John Bauer, pastor of the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis, made the decision to suspend Naylor, a 15-year employee.

Local News Article from KMSP and Video:

[KMSP] Archbishop John Nienstedt announced Monday that every Catholic in the state will be mailed a DVD defending marriage as between one man and one woman, as he hopes to "rally the troops" around the Church's position on the divisive issue just six weeks before Election Day.

Nienstedt appears at the beginning of the eight-minute video, which was prepared by the Knights of Columbus, and will be mailed to the state's Catholics on Wednesday, paid for by a large donation, the archbishop told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS Monday evening. The archdiocesan website lists the state's Catholic population at "approximately 800,000."

"Our target is basically our Catholic people," Archbishop Nienstedt said in an interview. "To remind them of what we believe and why we believe it and why it's so important that they believe it."

With special thanks to the Knights of Columbus who helped make this all possible... although they were earlier justifiably accused of sending mixed messages this year by failing to oust Pro-Abortion and Pro-Homosexual politicians. Will this make it more difficult for such men to associate themselves with the Knights of Columbus? We hope so.

Course, goes without saying that this place has a booth at a "Gay Pride" event.

Top UK Catholic Bishop: We Fight Poverty not Gay Unions

By Hilary White

ROME, September 24, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A day after the departure of Pope Benedict XVI from Britain, his senior archbishop, the unofficial head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, told a BBC interviewer that the English bishops had supported legalizing homosexual civil partnerships. (Download the audio here)

Attempting to defend the Catholic hierarchy from accusations of being opposed to the homosexualist political agenda around the world, Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Westminster hastened to assure the BBC’s Huw Edwards, “That’s not true.”

“In this country, we were very nuanced. We did not oppose gay civil partnerships. We recognized that in English law there might be a case for those. What we persistently said is that these are not the same as marriage.”

Despite Legal Threats, Mexican Cardinal Refuses to Retract Condemnation of Homosexuality

By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman, Latin America Correspondent

MEXICO CITY, September 24, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Cardinal Archbishop of Mexico City is refusing to retract his statements condemning homosexual behavior, despite a complaint filed against him with the federal government's National Council to Prevent Discrimination (Contrapred).

Multiple complaints before various government agencies were filed in August against Rivera, his spokesman Hugo Valdemar, and Cardinal Juan Sandoval Iñiguez by Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard and fellow members of the socialist Party of the Democratic Revolution in response to statements they made denouncing the homosexualist and abortionist policies of the Mexico City government and the nation's Supreme Court.

The complaint filed against Rivera with Contrapred is based on his statement denouncing the Supreme Court's approval of homosexual "marriage," calling it an "immoral legal reform," and declaring that the Catholic Church "cannot cease to call evil, evil."

Jesuit School Slammed by Bishops for Promoting Homosexuality

This looks like a case of praising with faint damning, but it's a start.

September 22, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) on Wednesday issued a sharply worded rebuke of a book co-authored by two Creighton University theologians.

"The Sexual Person: Toward a Renewed Catholic Anthropology" was published in 2008 and written by Todd A. Salzman, chairman of the Creighton University Department of Theology, and Michael G. Lawler, the department’s professor emeritus. The book attempts to provide moral justification for contemporary sexual behaviors that consistently have been held to be immoral by the Catholic Church.

The 23-page statement is titled "Inadequacies in the Theological Methodology and Conclusions of The Sexual Person: Toward a Renewed Catholic Anthropology." Drafted by the USCCB’s Committee on Doctrine, it calls the authors’ conclusions “a radical departure from the Catholic theological tradition,” erroneous, and “harmful to one’s moral and spiritual life.” Moreover, the statement said, “the book proposes ways of living a Christian life that do not accord with the teaching of the Church and Christian tradition.”

Parents organizations urge to bar sexual minorities' march in Petersburg

St. Petersburg, September 13, Interfax – Representatives of parent organizations ask authorities to ban gay pride parade planned by sex minorities for September 16-25 in Petersburg.

"They failed to conquer Moscow and hold a gay pride there and like fascists in 1941 they have focused all their effort on the city on the Neva. Today as before a blue division is moving to the "Northern capital", but it is not a "blue-blood" Aryan race," Russia's Council of Parents and Association of Parent Committees and Communities told the country's authorities in their open letter.

Its authors note that in fact "an open, legalized and effective promotion of vice and depravity" will take place in the city for ten days and this time will be enough "to ruin souls of thousands children and teens." They point out that many "international sodomite organizations, notorious gays and lesbians" have already backed up the festival.

"We are not ready to tolerate preachers of filth and perversion in our country as they have always been considered shameful in Russia. People who live with this passion should not bring their spiritual illness out in the streets of our cities and infect our children with it," the

letter reads.

Britain’s Leading Gay Activist Calls for Lowering of Age of Consent to 14

LONDON, September 1, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – One of Britain’s leading homosexualist activists has called again for the lowering of the age of sexual consent from 16 to 14, saying that this will reduce incidents of sexual abuse of young people. Peter Tatchell, founder of the group OutRage!, wrote on the website Big Think, “Whether we like it or not, many teenagers have their first sexual experience around the ages of 14 or 15.”

“If we want to protect young people, and I do, the best way to do this is not by threatening them with arrest, but by giving them frank, high quality sex and relationship education from an early age.

“This includes empowering them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to say no to unwanted sexual advances and to report sex abusers. Compared to the blanket criminalization of sexually-active under-age youth, this empowerment strategy is a more effective way to protect young people from peer pressure and pedophiles.”

A higher age of consent actually puts young teens at greater risk of abuse by “reinforcing the idea that young people under 16 have no sexual rights," Tatchell said. “They signal that a young person is not capable of making a rational, moral choice about when to have sex.”

Nina Hagen Spouts Off: From Hinduism to A Kind of Christianity

Editor: Nina and Anne Rice should compare notes.

Homosexual Ideologues and Abortion Promoters are Not Christians

[Kreuz.net] Germany. God loves the Homosexual. This was according to rock star and Protestant Nina Hagen for a Homosexual Magazine. The Sodomy is "just as holy" as a similar act by Christians, and whoever condemns Homosexuality, are "not Christians": "That is fascistic thinking" -- she exclaimed. The singer wanted to be baptized Protestant and not Catholic, because the Protestants are "more liberal". Frau Hagen thinks child murder is OK, she said, because the mother must decide herself.

Homosexual Priest Stole $1.3 Million for Male Escorts, Etc.

By Patrick B. Craine

WATERBURY, Connecticut, July 7, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A homosexual Connecticut Roman Catholic priest allegedly stole over a million dollars from his parish to pay for various extravagances and illicit activities, including male escorts, report the Waterbury police.

Fr. Kevin Gray, 64, former pastor of Sacred Heart parish in Waterbury, has been charged with first-degree larceny after taking $1.3 million out of parish funds to pay for escorts, hotels, meals out, and clothes.

He carried credit cards for two men on his account – one whom he met at a strip club, the other from an escort service. He paid tuition to Harvard for another man that he met in Central Park.

"Up until this investigation he had an excellent reputation," police Captain Christopher Corbett told Fox News. "The life he was leading in New York City was much different than the life he was leading in Waterbury as a priest. He's certainly an example of someone who was leading a double life."

The priest began taking money when he was transferred to Sacred Heart in 2003. He told police that he “had grown to hate being a priest” and “he felt the church owed it to him.”

The financial discrepancies were reported by the archdiocese on May 27 after Fr. Gray took a medical leave in April and disappeared. He turned himself in to police Tuesday, and was arraigned with bail set at $750,000.

The police affidavit says Fr. Gray told police he is homosexual and that he objects to the Church’s teaching on homosexuality.

In a 2005 instruction, the Vatican prohibited admitting homosexuals into seminaries, and warned that "one must in no way overlook the negative consequences that can derive from the ordination of persons with deep-seated homosexual tendencies.”
The directive has gone unheeded in many dioceses, and has even been directly opposed by some bishops and religious orders. Some commentators have suggested that the instruction was not meant to bar men with homosexual tendencies, but merely those with an immature sexuality.

But Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone reaffirmed the teaching in 2008, in a letter to the world’s bishops, insisting that the ban on admitting men with homosexual tendencies to seminaries applies universally.

The Jesuits get a New Provincial in Germany

A new man will step in to replace Fr. Stefan Dartman by the order of the Father General in Rome, Fr Adolfo Nicolás. He is Fr. Kiechle and works, in addition to being the head of the Manheim Jesuit Community, with troubled youth at the outreach organization "Open Door", here. His non-confrontational psychological approach to discernment and life's troubles no-doubt raises eyebrows, in one of the books he's authored, but looks essentially like a popular explanation of the Spiritual Exercises, here.

You might also think that this new assignment is the result of the abusive Jesuits at the German Prep-School and an unwanted resignation on the part of the current Provincial, but it's really routine to change Provincials every six years, so there's nothing untoward there.

You might also think that Father Kiechle, who looks like a layman and a liberal, seems to have a handle one of the things that really hobles the Catholic Church's German levites. Despite appearances to the contrary and his social work with youth in a social services organization and being a Jesuit, he has made some, if they are true, astonishing claims about the social climate in religious communities where cliques of homosexuals dominate, cf here:

A year ago, Stefan Kiechle, SJ, a novice master in Nuremberg (Germany), disclosed his experience on this point. In several German seminaries and within several orders 'homosexual hierarchies' exist, he said, which like all coteries that shun the light of the day work subversively and make others in the community dependent on them.

The document available is in pdf, above, and if it is accurate and true, would point to the new Jesuit provincial being a different, more responsible and accountable Jesuit.

Germany's Green Party Wants Sex With Children

The authors of the paper want to know the implemented principle of non-punishable violence-free sexuality, even of sexuality between minors as well as adults.

The 'Greens' of the German Republic Nordrhein-Westfalen have made a resolution with the theme, "Sex With Children".

This was reported in the German magazine, 'Spiegel' on March 25th, 1985.

A 20 headed 'green' work group with the name "Sexuality and Mastery" is promoting the paper as part of the federal party conference in Luedenscheid on 9 March Manifesto resolution.

Alliance of Child Abusers and Homosexuals

The 'green' Child abuse group names its homo-perverse and child abuser membership, playfully, "SchuP" (The German slang for sodomite is "schwul")

As expected the 'green' Delegates subscribed to the content of the papers according to an almost three hour discussion with 76 to 53 voices - in any case, because of a still clarification hungry point of dissenssion only as a "Working Document".

The Main Points follow:

- Consensual Sexuality is a form of communication between humans of various ages, sexes, religions or races and free from every constraint.

- From that it is not acceptable to use sexuality, where 'violence and independence' are in play.

- Violence free sexuality may never be the object of criminal prosecution. There then all criminal statutes be eliminated, which threaten violence free sexual expression with punishment.

-The entire German sexual crimes law should be struck and rewritten and constituted under the aspect of the use of violence.

The 'Greens' Federal Committee will not Annul the Tenet.

The authors of the Paper want to know the implemented principle of non-punishable violence free, even sexuality between minors as well as adults.

Members of the child-abusing Nurenberg "Indiancommune" had already used a Green Party Congress in the year 1980 to recruit for "soft Sex" with children.

The national main committee suspended the Sex Resolution with forty to four voices because of "heavy doubts" only after 7 days.

The resolution was not waived, however.

Green Politician-Priest Promotes Homosexual Nuptials

In the past week, there was some rumpus when Father Germain Dufour, a Capuchin priest in Belgium conducted a sacrilegious and invalid matrimony service on Valentine's Eve. Some people still think that Cardinal Daneels is still running Belgium and were he, we'd be sure that nothing would be done and nothing would be said.

A few weeks after his appointment on 25 January, true to his name, +Leonard, the new Primate of Belgium, has spoken out against the outrage of homosexuality and invited once again the ire of the leftist press and, no doubt, many of his own priests, comparing the condition to the dietary-psychological disorder anorexia.

There's nothing as of yet of any disciplinary action against the Green Party activist and pro-homosexual priest, Fr. Dufour, but we expect it to come soon.

Cardinal Pell gives Tacit Approval to Sacrilege

You can't serve two masters.

ON FRIDAY nights, gay Catholics from across Sydney attend St Joseph's in Newtown. Like all Catholics, they take Communion during mass and tea after it.

They have done so for years, with the quiet support of the deeply conservative Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal George Pell.

But this week St Joseph's gay ministry was threatened by a Catholic group set up on Facebook who vowed to stop its ''sacrilegious gay masses''.

Irish Bishops to Do Severe Public Penance for their Negligence

We suggested this, being especially inspired by the scene where Henry II was whipped by Benedictine Monks after he had St. Thomas Becket murdered, that the Bishops would do well to make public acts of penance, but you don't have to be a genius to see that was where Holy Father was going. St. Thomas Becket himself walked 20 miles to his Cathedral after he was consecrated, in his bare feet. Nothing inspires so much as when you set the example, especially if it costs something to do it, as Holy Father says, "we must follow Christ into the desert."

@2:30

The Irish bishops will perform an act of penance during Lent, equivalent to putting on 'sackcloth and ashes' to demonstrate their humility and their empathy with victims of clerical child sexual abuse, Cardinal Brady has said.

Speaking after the 24 Irish bishops' meeting with the Pope and flanked by four bishops, Cardinal Seán Brady told the world's media that a victim told him that he wanted the see the bishops humiliated and this is what is happening.

He said that the bishops had discussed penitential acts, such as climbing Croagh Patrick or going to Lough Derg but that whatever they do, it will be the equivalent of ''sackcloth and ashes''.

New Ways Ministry Slaps Back at Cardinal George

Catholic Caveman noticed that after Cardinal George issued his condemnation of formerly CCHD funded, New Ways Ministry, that the organization simply retaliated by publishing a list of gay-friendly parishes nationwide, but he doesn't think the Local Ordinary will do much about it. Actually, the Diocese will take measures against parishes that do not follow the rules, albeit slowly and often reluctantly in the case of the Archdiocese of St. Paul in Minnesota. Ultimately, we think the Cardinal is sabre rattling. Until he begins addressing the doctrine he was meant to teach in the first place, nothing will change, you'll only see half-measures and media decoration.

In the latter example, New Ways Ministry indicates that there are three such parishes friendly to gays: St. Francis Cabrini (whose pastor will "bless" same-sex unions, but off campus, since there are so many intolerant people at the Archdiocese who object to change.), St. Joan of Arc (Recently hosted a homosexual men's choir for a "Christmas concert" and St. Stephen's which got a conservative pastor the last year and provoked a mass exodus of the elderly and aging hippies and radicals to another "community". We might amend New Ways list to include the Basilica of St Mary's and disinclude St. Stephen's which seems to now be the home of mostly Latino folks. We also think these folks should include St John's Abbey at Collegeville as well, since they have a large number of homosexuals in their community and even go to great lengths to protect them when they break the law by preying on the students at the two schools they operate.

All in all it's a mixed bag. We think the abuses and heresy will continue because it's a social problem which has effected the Society as well, and you won't begin to address the homosexual problem until you start re-emphasizing moral theology and correct doctrine.

French Traditionalist Catholics Deal with "Kiss-in" at Notre Dame in Paris

French homosexuals planned a "kiss-in" on the steps of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and this is what happened to them.

The police asked the homosexual demonstrators to kiss someplace else, considering the large and menacing crowds opposed to them, but some insisted on carrying through with their plan. This provocation was dealt with accordingly and a few of the Catholic youth went to jail but were released by evening.

Sexual abuse in Germany Deeper than Originally Thought

So much for Europeans being less litigious than Americans, of course, as in many things deleterious, the Jesuits are leading the way.

Press TV

Less than a week after a German Jesuit leader apologized over a deepening sexual abuse scandal at a prestigious Catholic institution, new reports paint a far grimmer picture of the crisis.

German media reported on Saturday that nearly 100 employees of the catholic Church have been suspected of involvement is sexual abuse over the past 15 years.

The new accusation comes after victims, who suffered abuse as students in four Jesuit-run schools in the 1970s and 80s came forward.

More than 20 of the victims assaulted at a Berlin school were between 13 and 14. A former Catholic priest admitted in early January to sexually abusing pupils in the 1970s and 1980s at a Berlin school where he taught.

Scots cardinal defiant after Pope criticises equality law ahead of visit

THE leader of Scotland's Catholics has insisted the Church's voice would "continue to be heard" despite new legislation which could end its ban on allowing gays taking up senior positions.

Cardinal Keith O'Brien's comments came after Pope Benedict XVI hit out at proposals in the UK's forthcoming Equality Bill, claiming the legislation "violates natural law" and was a threat to religious freedom.

The cardinal, who is leading a week long visit by Scotland's Catholic bishops on their traditional Ad Limina pilgrimage to Rome, spoke out yesterday in the official Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano.

The pontiff yesterday announced plans to visit Scotland later this year, but in an unprecedented attack on Gordon Brown's human rights policies, the Pope urged Catholic bishops to fight back with "missionary zeal".

Yesterday the Pope faced a backlash from gay and human rights campaigners with Labour MSP Stephen Hughes challenging him to start applying equality rules "on his own doorstep".

Holy Father Says Homosexuality a Violation of the Natural Law

Thanks to Louis Welcome for this notification. Isn't there some putative blue law on the books in England where the Pope can be arrested for offending homosexuals like this? We know that many homosexuals want people who teach the contra-natural nature of their behaviors to be locked in jail. But this story is interesting because of its title, and it's interesting to us because there are quite a few churchmen in the United States who deny the actuality (if that's the word) of the natural law. We think that there are a lot of people, particularly at places like St. John's Abbey, who would like for there not to be a natural law. They at least have a vested interest in there not being one, because it means that there are, as their mantra goes, "no moral absolutes" and they can be creative about morality. What they mean is that they want to invent a justification for their moral infirmities to the point of creating a society which praises their activities, or at least turns a blind eye...

Guardian

The Pope yesterday made an unprecedented attack on Britain's equality legislation, claiming Harriet Harman's attempts to bring in new laws enforced sinful behaviour.

Benedict XVl condemned Labour's Equality Bill in extraordinary terms as an assault on the 'natural law' of Christianity - in other words a sin.
His remarks came in a speech at the Vatican moments after he confirmed he will visit the UK in September.

We like this article for other reasons as well in that it affirms Benedict's vision of encouraging the Bishops of Wales and England to adhere to Catholic teaching, particularly in regard to the natural law, which Guardian, unfortunately defines this way:

By natural law, the Pope meant the Christian and Biblical teaching on which Roman Catholic beliefs are based, including the Ten Commandments. Rejection of the natural law is sinful in Catholic theology.

Actually, as Catholic Encylcopedia, quoting St. Thomas, has it, natural law is defined thusly:

...the natural law is "nothing else than the rational creature's participation in the eternal law" (I-II.94). The eternal law is God's wisdom, inasmuch as it is the directive norm of all movement and action. When God willed to give existence to creatures,He willed to ordain and direct them to an end. In the case of inanimate things, this Divine direction is provided for in the nature which God has given to each; in them determinism reigns. Like all the rest of creation, man is destined by God to an end, and receives from Him a direction towards this end. This ordination is of a character in harmony with his free intelligent nature. In virtue of his intelligence and free will, man is master of his conduct. Unlike the things of the mere material world he can vary his action, act, or abstain from action, as he pleases. Yet he is not a lawless being in an ordered universe. In the very constitution of his nature, he too has a law laid down for him, reflecting that ordination and direction of all things, which is the eternal law. The rule, then, which God has prescribed for our conduct, is found in our nature itself. Those actions which conform with its tendencies, lead to our destined end, and are thereby constituted right and morally good; those at variance with our nature are wrong and immoral.

Catholicism is Now Illegal in Quebec

Seems like following Church teaching in Quebec, strangely, one of the most Catholic places in the world, can land you in some hot water.

by Brian Kelly January 28th, 2010
Douglas Farrow of Catholic Civil Rights League: The Québec policy against homophobia was released in December with introductory fanfare from Premier Jean Charest and Justice Minister Kathleen Weil, who is officially “the minister responsible for the fight against homophobia.” It diagrams a full-scale assault, to be coordinated by an inter-departmental committee, against “homophobic attitudes and behaviour patterns” and “sets out the government’s goal of removing all the obstacles” to full recognition of LGBT interests and modes of life. What is thus promulgated is no ordinary policy document, for it aims at the conversion, not merely of this or that piece of public infrastructure, but of the psychological and moral and sexual infrastructure of a generation. It is not directed at creating a situation of legal equality – that, it proudly proclaims, has already been accomplished – but at creating “a society free of prejudice with regard to sexual diversity.”

Link to SBC site... Of course, no one is telling Weil about objective scientific studies at John's Hopkins about the whether or not homosexuality is genetic or not, of course, our diversity police won't want this study to see the light of day; the politics of deviance will see to that.

Paul McHugh, a Roman Catholic and a professor of psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, said that scientific research has not established any genetic causation for homosexual orientation. When asked if his paper might appear in "The American Journal of Psychiatry", he smiled and said, "No." Americans, he said, have become such victims of the "politics of deviance" that objective scholarship is brushed aside in favor of what is deemed to be politically correct.

Renedgade Bishop Will Have Civil Partnership

[Telegraph] Outspoken bishop Pat Buckley is set to have a civil partnership in Larne — where he blesses gay and lesbian unions in his private independent chapel.

The maverick cleric (57) will tie the knot on February 8.

While the intention was posted at Larne Borough Council offices, it is thought that a follow-up service will take place at the chapel in The Oratory — his residence which was owned by the Diocese of Down and Connor and which he refused to vacate when he was suspended as a priest.
