Ted Cruz collaborating with Ocasio Cortez to make contraceptives available over the counter

By David Martin

The news broke last week that Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is now collaborating with Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to try to make contraceptives available over the counter. Ted Cruz asks Ocasio-Cortez to join him in making birth control available over-the-counter

Responding to a tweet in which the radical freshman Democrat declared that "birth control should be over-the-counter," Cruz agreed, saying that they should "team up" on that.

"I agree. Perhaps, in addition to the legislation we are already working on together to ban Members of Congress from becoming lobbyists, we can team up here as well. A simple, clean bill making birth control available over the counter. Interested?"

Two crimes are committed here. First he is promoting contraception, i.e. birth control pills, abortifacients, etc., and in such a way as to give people easy access to it. But too, he is supporting the radical socialist Ocasio-Cortez, which is like supporting George Soros. Cruz's "Un-American" activities are clearly manifest.

We’ve all heard how Rafael Cruz, the father of Ted Cruz "fled" communist oppression in Cuba to seek "asylum" in the United States, when in fact Rafael was sent to the U.S. by Castro to assist in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBucJt9T9tA  And why? Because Kennedy had exposed the conspiratorial doings of the CFR and was in the process of placing this private interest group under U.S. jurisdiction, which the communists resented.

And of course, Ted's wife Heidi is a former CFR member and VIP who co-authored the infamous blueprint for the North American Union, entitled, Building a North American Community, which outlines the internationalist plan for dissolving America’s sovereignty—something that Communists have eagerly awaited since the time of Lenin.

Contraception is not part of our Christian American heritage but is of the Communist world and is what Communists brought to our country, so when we see American "conservatives" pushing contraception it should immediately send up a red flag.

So much for Ted Cruz being a pro-life patriot.

His Satanic Majesty

Edit: another thing that Malachi Martin was right about. I’m wondering, did it really take this long for  Andrew Greeley’s Dead man’s switch to get turned on, or is this from another source? I expect many of the powerful men Greeley claims to have identified as sexual predators are dead.

Meanwhile, what of characters like Bishop Robert Baron who drew so much support and inspiration from Bernardin?

Gay Pride Month: Basilian Plagiarist and Homophile Fired

Basilian Priest and Vatican advisor Thomas Rosica now also had to resign as CEO of "Salt + Light" due to his plagiarism affair - putting the Vatican under pressure to remove the scandal pater as a media consultant

Edit: more vindication for Vox Cantoris.
Toronto (kath.net) Vatican advisor Father Thomas Rosica (photo) now faces further, grave consequences from his plagiarism scandal. After a few weeks ago, the Canadian Salt + Light website has already removed more than 1,000 articles and contributions from Rosica, and the controversial Basilian priest has now resigned as CEO of the media group.

Previously, the Canadian newspaper "The Globe and Mail" had already announced that in the future Rosica's posts would no longer be published because the priest did not meet the standards of the newspaper. Also numerous other media had to delete quite a few posts from Rosica.

With the resignation as CEO of the Salt Light Media Group, the pressure on the Vatican to remove Rosica as official media consultant is likely to increase.

Next Year, We'll be Methodists!

Maronite Cardinal Warns Against Abolishing Celibacy

Edit: this Cardinal expressed these views in 2012. His comments only appeared on kreuz.net back before it got shut down by the secret police for criticizing sodomites and saying that a celebrated German comedian, a kind of Benny Hill, was boiling in rotten sewage for eternity. As far as we know, the webmaster, whose identity was discovered a few years ago after a nationwide manhunt, is still at liberty, but we haven’t heard.

Philippe Cardinal Barbarin

Of all things the Greek-Catholic Bishops, whose clergy is married,  have warned against abolishing celibacy.

(kreuz.net) On the 27th of Septemer Philippe Cardinal Barbarin of Lyon at the French magazine 'Paris Match' commented on the slow burning media issue of "celibacy".

"Don't squander this treasure"

The Cardinal recalled that Pope Benedict XVI had addressed this already in the first Bishops' Synod.

It was then that the former Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Cardinal Sfeir (92) spoke especially caustically about the abolishing of celibacy.

"Even with us, the Maronites, priests may marry"  -- explained the Cardinal:  "During the war in Lebanon, all of the married priests left with their wives and children."

No one blamed them for that: "Actually, the only ones remaining behind, were those who were married to their communities."

He continued: "Don't squander this gift".

"What do you want me to tell you?"

'Paris Match'  grasped desperately in the air, suggesting that supposedly twenty percent of the clergy live with a woman.

"A High statistic" -- cried Cardinal Barbarin:  "That is, as we would say, that thirty percent of husbands   betray their wives."

"What do you want me to tell you?" -- was the Cardinal's pugnacious reaction.

It would be natural to desire that people who are married are faithful:  "Even the Republic wants that."

Cardinal Barbarin recalled then that even civil servants officiating civil marriages in the mayor's office use the words "respect" and "faithfulness".

Episcopal Secretary “Likes” Gay Pride

The revolutionary aspect of homosexuality with its persification of the concept of love: "Love changes history" and the blasphemy it contains, because "Deus caritas est": Love is a person.

(Rome) Homo-confusion prevails not only in some dioceses of the German-speaking world, but also in Italy.

For almost half a century, the Archdiocese of Genoa was the diocese of Cardinal Giuseppe Siri and was regarded as a refuge of a traditional understanding of the Church and of faith and theology. Auxiliary Bishop and Vicar General Nicolò Anselmi, whom Pope Francis put down there in 2015, see things differently today. It had already participated in a gay event and has now imposed a ban on an atonement for insulting God through gay pride in the city. Such a prayer was "not desired" by the current Archbishop, Angelo Cardinal Bagnasco. He has not yet commented himself on the issue.

The approach of the auxiliary bishop and vicar general is not a slip-up. The head of the archiepiscopal press service, Msgr. Silvio Grilli, stated when asked, that as a Catholic, one could agree with the contents of Gay Pride. An atonement prayer in the church, on the other hand, conveys the impression of a "condemnation".

La Repubblica, the only daily newspaper Pope Francis reads on a daily basis, said he had read it (although the statement was later turned to the less leftist daily Il Messaggero). Msgr. Grilli gave an answer to what is today seen as positive and negative by the ecclesiastical authorities.

The traditional website Messa in Latino countered:

"Prayer is never condemnation, but reparation. Gay pride and similar events regularly include blasphemous slogans and actions, as well as unrepeatable vulgarity and attacks on Jesus, Mary, and the Church. "

But the ecclesiastical authority does not seem to be really moving, with a few exceptions. The majority ducks away and is silent. A homophile minority in the Church actively seeks to join the homosexual movement and the applause of the Zeitgeist.

Examples can be found not only in Genoa, but also in Vicenza, the home bishop of Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin. Bishop Beniamino Pizziol was founded by Pope Benedict XVI. first as Auxiliary Bishop of Venice, then appointed Bishop of Vicenza in 2011. To express gratitude and sumpathy, he took Deus Caritas est for motto, a central statement of the pontificate of Benedict XVI.

But Benedict renounced the Petrine ministry and now Francis rules in Rome. Msgr. Pizziol explained in the run-up to the Gay Pride, which flooded cities in Western Europe last Saturday: "Jesus invites us not to judge.”

The bishop's secretary, Don Marco Gasparini, went one step further and gave the Facebook page of Gay Pride in Vicenza a "like” on his FB page. After the homophile action was revealed, a denial was made. Don Gasparini told Messa in Latino that he is not the only one using his Facebook account and expressly dissociates himself from the positive rating of Gay Pride. He had caused the deletion of the "likes" on Facebook.

The distancing does not really convince because the Facebook account is under the first and surname of the Secretary. Nevertheless, it is important. The Gay Prides of 2019 show that homo-heresy, as Dariusz Oko calls it, spreads at many levels in the Church, promoted by inner-Church cliques and the social climate.

Cardinal Ravasi Hypocrotically Attacks Salvini for Empty Gestures — He Forgets His Own Fabulous Gestures

Remember When?

Edit: this is part of the reason why growing numbers of Italian Catholics are ignoring the Church which has been all too willing to act against the best interests of the laity for the benefit of its evil masters. Banon’s own exhortation to the laity must also be noted.  From Mesa in Latino:

[Mesa in Latino] But couldn't these prelates take more care of the empty churches, the empty seminaries, the dead children killed in mothers' womb, instead of taking care of Salvini?

Andra Zambrano, also happily HERE  reminds him of the organization of the gala at the MET in New York with thePope  Rihanna and side by side with John Paul II's casules mixed with leather caps for bondage (on the disgusting story see MiL HERE.  But, as we know, as Merlin said in the film Excalibur, man's trouble is that he forgets.

Sunday 16 June 11:00 - by Carlo Marini,  Il Seculo d’Italia

Also Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, the Vatican "Minister of Culture", stands against Matteo Salvini. «Faith is an existential experience, a radical choice. Religion is the outward manifestation. Shaking the Gospel, showing off the rosary, kissing the crucifix does not necessarily make you a believer ». Thus, in an interview with Corriere della Sera, Cardinal Ravasi, theologian and biblicist and president of the Pontifical Council for Culture.

"Christ condemns those who make external gestures"

In particular, to the reporter's question as to whether theMinister  Matteo Salvini with his recent behavior was wrong or not, Ravasi replied: "These are signs that in themselves do not represent the authenticity of belief. Christ condemns those who take the first places in the synagogue, those who parade the phylacteries, the parchments with the verses of the Torah. Christ forgives all sins, but cannot bear hypocrisy. Self-salvation does not exist. One is not saved by outward manifestations, but by profound adherence to moral and existential choices. It is not the ritual gesture that saves. The sacrament is "opus operatum", an objective act marked by the divine presence, but also "opus operantis", a subjective act, a vital and moral choice. Otherwise it is magic ritual. Magic.”

Even Succesor of Siri Fears the Rage of the Lavender Mafia

The Rosary Prayer Initiative for Italy wanted to invite Genoese to the solemn prayer for the Gay Pride in three churches, but the Archdiocese said it was undesirable

(Rome) The "Gay Month" June shows who wants and supports aberrosexualization. First and foremost are the politicians who channel public space into the tax box of the homo-agenda. The majority of Catholics react apathetically, because what the mass media suggests to them is in open contradiction to the teaching of the Church. But they are largely abandoned by the ecclesiastical hierarchy.

The voice of the Church is barely audible, because many diocesan bishops follow the papal model, and that means: no confrontation with the spirit of the times. From this and from the "delicate" treatment of homo-heresy (Dariusz Oko) in the Church, the overall impression of a latent paradigm shift in moral teaching emerges. Groups of devout Catholics, however, organize themselves here and there and call for atonement for the Gay Prides, which are an open recourse to dark paganism. But that bothers the official course of the Church, even in Genoa.

The archdiocese of the Ligurian capital is still associated with the name of Giuseppe Cardinal Siri. But whoever feeds on mere heritage will eventually need it. The Archbishop of Genoa is none other than Angelo Cardinal Bagnasco, who under Pope Benedict XVI. was President of the Italian Episcopal Conference until Pope Francis replaced him by a a churchman much closer to him.

Nevertheless, Bagnasco endeavors to please the incumbent Pope, which reinforces the existing weaknesses of his administration.

Also in Genoa, devout Catholics organized and called for a prayer vigil to make atonement for the abominations and outrages of the homosexual spectacle in the city. Only a partial aspect of the negative balance is that the cases of transmissible sexually transmitted diseases skyrocket in the wake of  the disgusting Homo-Carnival. Above all, homosexuality is one of the blatant sins.

However, the archbishop's ordinariate sent a message to the Vicar General saying that the prayer initiative was not welcome:

"His Eminence wishes that the prayer vigil in his church be canceled."

No confrontation with the world, no audible voice of the Church, no affirmation of the Church's moral teaching. Nothing should disturb the "peace". This is what Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio had already said in Argentina in 2010, when he was a primate there and the believers turned to him in their desire to start action against the legalization of "gay marriage" but were sent home by the archbishop.

The traditional website Messa in Latino asks Cardinal Bagnasco a short but urgent question:

"Why?"

Although Cardinal Bagnasco lost his influence in the Italian Episcopate through the change of the papal throne, he is still acting successor to Cardinal Siri and since October 2016  andalso President of the Council of European Bishops' Conferences CCEE (not to be confused with the Commission of the Episcopal Conferences of the European Community COMECE which includes only the episcopal conferences of the EU).

The organizers of the prayer initiative "Rosary for Italy", set up by their archbishop, had to cancel the announced prayer vigils as planned. Yesterday they announced via the press agency ANSA:

"We are sorry to announce that the Curial Archbishop of Genoa has instructed the responsible priests of the churches listed below to cancel the planned prayer vigils for public atonement. We therefore invite the interested believers to pray elsewhere - in spiritual fellowship. "

But it is also different, as the diocese of Trieste under the leadership of courageous Archbishop Giampaolo Crepaldi shows. The Press Office of the diocese announced:

"Because of some public statements that insult and discriminate against the Christian faith and that were unfortunately made in the Gay Pride, which took place in Trieste a few days ago, on June 13 from 8.30 pm an atonement will take place in the Marian Shrine on Monte Grisa. "

13 New Priests for SSPX in Northern Hemisphere

On June 8, three deacons were consecrated in Zaitzkofen for the Society. The ordination takes place at the end of June.

(Berne) The seminaries of the fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX) in the northern hemisphere end their academic year in the month of June, the Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. At the end of the academic year, ordination is traditionally held around the 29th of June, the feast of apostolic princes Peter and Paul. The Society will receive thirteen new priests in a few days.

Founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, the Society maintains three seminaries in the northern hemisphere, one each with a German, French and English language of instruction. There are two more seminaries in the southern hemisphere, one in Argentina with Spanish and one in Australia with English as the language of instruction. Diaconal and priestly ordinations take place there just before Christmas: at the Holy Cross Seminary in Australia on 19 December and at the seminary of Our Lady Coroner in Argentina on 21 December 2019.

In the United States, Bishop Alfonso de Galarreta will be consecrating five new priests - all Americans - on June 21 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Dillwyn, Virginia.

In Switzerland, Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais will hand over six priests — four Frenchmen, one Englishman and one Italian - in the seminary of St. Pius X in Ecône on 28 June.

Finally, Bishop Bernard Fellay will consecrate two candidates for new priests - a German and a Pole - on Sunday, June 30, in the Bavarian Seminary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus  in Zaitzkofen.

All ordinations are open to the public. The seminaries explicitly invite the faithful to participate in the Holy Mass and to receive the blessing of the new priests.

Already on June 8, the Pentecost Vigil, Bishop Fellay had consecrated three new deacons in Zaitzkofen - a Pole, an Austrian and a German. In Switzerland, the diaconal ordination takes place at the same time as the priestly ordination, whereas in the USA it took place in April.

Regarding the consecrations Rector in Zaitzkofen, P. Franz Schmidberger emphasized on this occasion that:

"In this way, the Church will be renewed step by step in the German-speaking countries and in the countries of Eastern Europe, even if the work takes more time than one would wish."

P. Schmidberger was the first successor of Archbishop Lefebvre as Superior General of the Society of Saint Pius X. He was followed by Bishop Bernard Fellay, who headed the Society for 24 years. In July 2018 he was replaced by P. Davide Pagliarini.

First Mass at Notre Dame Since Fire Celebrated Ad Orientem

Notre-Dame de Paris: view through the ruined vaulted ceiling.

(Paris) On Saturday, the first Mass was celebrated in the ruined cathedral Notre Dame de Paris since the devastating fire of last April 15th. The celebrant was Archbishop Michel Aupetit of Paris, who celebrated it ad orientem (facing east).

Protected by helmets, the Archbishop and about 30 people entered the episcopal church of Paris, which together with the Eiffel Tower, is considered the most famous landmark of France, in contrast to this not only is it much older, but it also has a much deeper cultural and spiritual significance.

"The fire that destroyed the building on April 15 sparked a wave of emotions, not just among the faithful," said Archbishop Aupetit.

Secured statue of Mary in Notre-Dame.

With him, the church rector, Msgr. Patrick Chauvet, canons, volunteers, diocesan staff and construction workers came to the cathedral, who took a break from working to stabilize the roofless masonry. In total, there were about 30 people attending the Mass.

For security reasons, access was not allowed to other believers. The Catholic TV station KTO transmitted the celebration directly. It took place on the dedication day of the altar of the cathedral, a "highly spiritual" date, says Msgr. Chauvet.

The celebration took place in the Mary chapel in the outer ambulatory of the sanctuary, where the crown of thorns was kept until the fire. It had been rescued from the flames by the brave chaplain of the Paris Fire Department, Jean-Marc Fournier, a priest close to tradition, along with the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Since the devastating fire, the cause of which remains unclear, between 60 and 150 workers work to secure the cathedral. Even while the cathedral was in flames, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that it would be rebuilt within five years. For now, we are working feverishly on securing the stock. It should first and foremost be started with the planning of the reconstruction. The French Senate, the upper house of legislation, recently voted in favor of the faithful reconstruction, rejecting architectural experiments or misappropriation.

Of the 850 million euros in donations promised in the course of the fire, only nine percent have been paid.

Archbishop Aupetit at the celebration in the Mary chapel.

The media reports hardly mention it, but the KTO transmission shows that Archbishop Aupetit celebrated ad
orientem in the reliquary chapel in the Novus Ordo. The reason: there is no people’s altar in the Mary chapel. [Isn’t ironic that the Cramner table of the NO was something imposed on the people?]

Cardinal Robert Sarah, the Prefect of the Roman Congregation for the Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, has been recommending to all priests since 2016 to rediscover and resume this celebration, which was common until the liturgical reform of 1969/1970.

Austrian Theologian Thinks Pope Talks Too Much About the Devil

Criticism: To portray people as "agents of Satan" carries the danger of halving their moral responsibility and simultaneously demonizing it - Pope's problematic speech about devils in connection with sexual abuse

Vienna-Würzburg (kath.net/KAP) From the point of view of the Viennese theologian Jan-Heiner Tück, Pope Francis speaks "a little too often" about the devil. Although theology struggles with the problem of evil, it is a mistake to try to explain the devil as an explanatory model and to trace human action back to "his invisible hand," according to the dogmatic professor teaching at the University of Vienna in the German "Tagespost" ( June 13). As an example, Tück cited the papal speech about the devil in connection with sexual abuse, which he classified as "very problematic" and "pontifical relief strategy". Not the devil, but "the concrete failure of priests who have preyed on minors," and the silence and inaction of bishops, leaders, and believers must be charged.

The problem is talking of the devil in connection with sexual abuse especially for victims and those affected. For Tück, how do the victims behave when the head of the Catholic Church attributes the sexual violence of priests and religious to children and youth "to the work of the devil, shifting the issue from human responsibility to the spiritual level?” Without an "unvarnished perception of the facts" one comes "no further in the crisis," said Tück and demanded a moral and legal processing of the sexual assaults. This would include a systematic analysis of those factors that favored abuse - including a "taboo on sexuality" as well as "the blanket level of coverup."

For a long time perpetrators were covered and victims were muzzled so as not to jeopardize the credibility of the Church. It was a nuisance that many responsible persons had taken into account that in new places in turn, children and adolescents were exposed to threats and reprisals. So far, however, no one has dared to step out of anonymity and take personal responsibility for cover-up crimes, complained the theologian.

Man not agent of Satan

To portray people as "agents of Satan" carries the danger of halving their moral responsibility and simultaneously demonizing it, warned the dogmatic professor. Pope Francis emphasizes in his theology the duality of God as good and Satan as evil, which also brings a picture of people's lives as a battlefield of probation. The root of this thought led Tück back to the spiritual roots of Ignatian spirituality.

No one has the authority to define human wrongdoing immediately as the work of the devil, the theologian continues. Nevertheless, in return, it would be wrong to banalize "the problem of evil". As historical arguments, Tück cited "the barbaric excesses of the twentieth century", which manifested themselves in an escalation of violence, blind following and a masquerade of lies. "To deny this one would be blinded by reality".

Based Bishop Fights Evil City from Helicopter With Holy Water

Edit: while Bishops in the developing world are cowering for fear of the gays, some bishops are using tried and true methods with modern technologies.

[Daily Mail] Ruben Dario Jaramillo Montoya wants to use his position as Bishop of Buenaventura, in Colombia, to purge the streets of evil.
Montoya told local radio station Blu Radio: “We want to go around the whole of Buenaventura, from the air, and pour holy water onto it to see if we exorcise and get out all those demons that are destroying our port, so that God’s blessing comes and gets rid of all the wickedness that is in our streets.”
Local media report the National Army support the bishop’s plan and have offered him the use of a helicopter to carry it out.
They are reportedly working with the priest to work out where they will pour the holy water.

We Demand! Open Letter of German Religious Instructors

Homosexualization of the public space - and the religious teachers are at the forefront (or guiding zeitgeist?).

By a Catholic woman.

While in May Catholic sexual morality, women's priesthood, and celibacy were the central arguments by the Church strike activists of Mary 2.0., Catholic religious teachers with similar demands for reform of the Church now appear on the scene. The Federal Association of Catholic Religious Teachers at College Preparatory Schools [Gymnasia] has sent an open letter to the German bishops on 3 June. In a 10-point catalog, they call for "structural changes in the Church.”

The religious teachers emphasize that they act out of responsibility for the future viability of the Church as a "credible community of believers.” They could no longer offer students a sense of credibility in the face of abuse scandals, "religious power source of a clerical priestly self-image", "demonization of sexuality," "taboo of homosexuality and alternative forms of love and life" and "exclusion of remarried divorced".

However, given these questionable catchphrases, one can not help feeling that teachers are formulating their own agenda for the decatholicization of the Church under the guise of concern for our "pupils" who "in these contexts are an opaque, dishonest, power-oriented official Church who respect the protection of the sacrality of her institution more than the people who entrust themselves to her.”

In their letter the religious teachers urge among other
things, represent a "rethinking in questions of sexuality especially of homosexuality", the "end of a repressive dealing with innovative (sic!) thinking theologians" and a courageous ecumenism by the "dismantling of all barriers, which are based in the Catholic understanding of office.”

The religious educators are very self-confident. They see the fulfillment of their demands as a presupposition that "the Church and faith probabaly have future." Yet the human presumption that links the survival of the Church to autonomous contemporary operations in the body of the Church of Christ, denies the revelation of the Lord.

Superbia? The wording of the letter is at least very autocratic: we are ready to engage in the reform process with our theological and pedagogical expertise as soon as the first clear steps are taken with regard to the implementation of these demands. Participation in the "synodal path", which was decided upon at the spring meeting of the German bishops, is the conditio sine qua non.

It remains to be hoped that the theological expertise of at least these teachers of religion will be spared us, who, after reading the open letter, can only be assessed as "unsatisfactory". (A rating on the same scale, unfortunately does not yield a better result for many shepherds and pastors.)

Under these circumstances, perhaps it would be time to not only question religious education as a proper subject within the framework of the state mission of schools, but to think about its abolition. Too great is the danger to our children that they will not meet religious teachers who are faithful to Catholic doctrine and understand Catholic sexual morality as the foundation of moral life. [Orthodox instructors tend not to survive long in any level of Catholic education, whereas this was once only the case at in German Universities like Tübingen, which have been nurseries of Modernism at least since 1814 when it began its Catholic department.]

But the Episcopal Conference is not likely to refrain from having parts of religious education as an extended arm. Moreover, without religious education in the classroom, it would be openly recognizable in the pastoral duty to offer catechism lessons, as it is known, for example. happening in secular France outside the school on its own initiative by the Church. And it would certainly be harder to catechize the same mislabelling as is the case with "Catholic" religious education. Because that's the point, according to the teachers' words, "primarily about value communication, not about value eradication.” In fact, the departure from catechesis had begun with the decisions of the Würzburg Synod of Bishops (1971-1975).

There are hopefully many more religious teachers who are not behind the open letter, but unfortunately obviously too many who are no longer on the ground of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

New Institute of Female Religious Blooms in Vocations Desert

For the tradition-steeped Institut du Bon Pasteur (IBP), six candidates in the traditional rite will be consecrated to priests and deacons on June 29th.

(Paris) In Bordeaux, where the closing of the Archbishop's seminary has just been announced, this year's higher consecrations of the traditional Institut du Bon Pasteur will take place on the 29th of June. Recently, the Institute also started female branch.

Cardinal Jean-Pierre Ricard, the Archbishop of Bordeaux, announced a few days ago that the Archdiocesan seminary, which has been serving as an inter-diocesan seminary for several years, will be closed at the end of the current academic year. The reason for the drastic measure is the persistent lack of appeal.

Not directly related to the closure, but symbolic, is that this year's rise in ordinations will be credited to the traditional Institut du Bon Pasteur (Institute of the Good Shepherd) in Bordeaux.

On June 29, Msgr. François Bacqué will consecrate six candidates of the Institute to priests or deacons.

Msgr. Bacqué, born in 1936 like Pope Francis, is titular archbishop of Gradisca and until his retirement in 2011, he was Apostolic Nuncio in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He himself comes from Bordeaux and was ordained a priest in 1966 for this archdiocese.

The consecrations take place in the church of Saint-Eloi beginning at 9 o'clock. It is the main church of the Institute. At the same time as the consecrations, the 40th priestly jubilee of the founder and Superior General Philippe Laguérie is celebrated.

P. Laguérie emerged from the Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX). The quarrel came when he began to represent sedevacant positions. He gave these up later, founded his own religious community and approached Rome again. In 2006, a year before the Motu proprio Summorum Pontificum, the Institut du Bon Pasteur was legally recognized as the Institute of the Apostolic Life of the Pontifical Right and returned to full unity with Rome. Since then, it has been under the authority of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei, which was recently incorporated by Pope Francis as a section of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Last April 6, five candidates from the Institute were ordained as sub-deacons, while eleven candidates received the lower orders. Archbishop Emery Kabongo Kaumdowi, Archbishop Emeritus of Ludo and canon of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, consecrated the ordinations.

Ordination of Subdeacons last April in Courtalaine

On March 19, 2019, the feast of St. Joseph, a new branch was canonically established by the Institute in Warsaw. In Poland there are six priests of the Institute in Bialystok, Czestochowa and Warsaw.

On March 25, the first three novices of the still very young female branch of the Institute made their solemn vows. The Servantes Réparatrices de la Sainte Famille were established in Bogota in Colombia and recognized by the Archbishop there. Their charism includes tradition and the traditional form of the Roman Rite. They support the priests of the Institute through their prayer. In a special way they devote themselves to the sanctification of the family, both in prayer and in the apostolate.

On March 25, 2019, the first novices of the new female branch made solemn vows

The International Seminary Saint Vincent de Paul of the Institut du Bon Pasteur is located in Courtalain near Chartres. The female branch can be contacted via the branch of the Institute in Bogota.

Francis Actually Reads Blogs He Fears For His “Mental Hygiene”

Pope Francis yesterday warned the apostolic nuncios (ambassadors) with an unusual footnote.

(Rome) "Because of the mental health", so Pope Francis assured, he does not read internet pages and blogs that criticize his administration. Yesterday, he warned the apostolic nuncios from "blogging" or "even joining groups," who are critical of him. In the same speech, however, Francis quoted just one of those websites that he says he does not read at all. Such as?

On January 16, 2018, Pope Francis met in Santiago de Chile with the Jesuits of that South American country. The main reason for the trip to Chile and Peru was the imminent Amazon Synod  as his confidant, Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, explained. That was only a few days before the storm of homosexual abuse scandal in the Church began to break over Francis.

Francis also approached his confreres of the Society of Jesus SJ) about heresy allegations that had been made to him indirectly a short time before in connection with the controversial post-synodal letter Amoris laetitia. Contentwise, he did not respond to the criticism, but demanded “not to read” such websites and blogs for reasons of "mental hygiene.”

Yesterday, the Pope received in audience all the Apostolic Nuncios who are doing their diplomatic service in different countries worldwide. Their meeting, to which he called them to Rome, ends tomorrow.

In his speech  which was published only in Italian, Francis warned the ambassadors of the Holy See against criticism of his person. The head of the Church said:

"It is therefore incompatible to be a Pontifical Representative and to criticize the Pope behind his back, to have a blog or even to join groups hostile to Him, the Curia and the Church of Rome."
The third person in which Francis spoke of himself is capitalized in the original Vatican publication. The speech was published on the official website of the Holy See and in today's edition of Osservatore Romano. It should not be forgotten that Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, a retired apostolic nuncio, criticized the current pontificate with the greatest publicity so far and called for the resignation of Francis.

When the pope quotes what he does not read out of "mental hygiene"

Remarkably, Francis quoted yesterday for the nuncios, just one of those websites, of which he - as a directive to the Jesuits (and not just them) - said not to read them. The reference can be found in footnote 14. The source quoted by Pope Francis is Corrispondenza Romana, whose founder and editor, Professor Roberto de Mattei, is one of the intellectual critics of the current pontificate.

Footnote 14: an essay by Prof. Roberto de Mattei on Corrispondenza Romana.

The Bergoglians tried to correct this  "embarrassment" immediately, first of all Il Sismografo, the digital press review hosted somewhere between the Vatican Secretariat of State and the Communications Dicastery, led by Luis Badilla, a former Chilean Minister of Popular Front Government of Salvador Allende. There, in tortuous form, an apology is sought,  cited in Santa Marta for what was considered there a scandalous "Faupax", from such an illustrious and honorable, intellectually outstanding and deeply traditional source as the historian Roberto de Mattei:
"After numerous checks and verifications, we have come to a conclusion and present it to our readers, just as this conviction has formed in our editorial staff in these hours: in all probability the Pope was not adequately informed, without complete information and not consciously aware of the very nature of the source used in footnote 14 of his speech.”
Luis Badilla must have swept aside this formulation like the  beads of sweat on his forehead. There were "so many" references to this source that Il Sismografo felt compelled to respond in order to protect the image of the Pope. Prof. de Mattei is presented by Badilla as an "anti-Bergoglian Italian intellectual" who "in those years did not spare Pope Francis allegations, epithets, adjectives and criticisms, often morally aggressive and not very polite to the Bishop of Rome.”

Il Sismografo: semi-official press review of the Vatican.

But what did Pope Francis quote from Corrispondenza Romana? At first glance "only" the litany of humility of Cardinal Secretary of State Rafael Merry del Val (1865-1930). Francis recommends it to the apostolic nuncios, stating that it comes from a "colleague," Merry del Val, son of a Spanish diplomat, himself serving many years as a diplomat in the service of the Holy See.

However, the essay by Roberto de Mattei on the Spanish-Irish cardinal cited in the source not only includes the litany, but a tribute to the "true aristocrat" whom St. Pius X, though only 38 years old, made Vatican secretary of state.

The red cape for the close circle of Francis, however, is Roberto de Mattei, the quoted author himself: historian, university professor, like his father and grandfather, descendant of the Sicilian nobility and one of the leading figures in Catholic tradition. It was about them he wrote under the title "Defense of Tradition," a book that was published in 2017 in translation by the theologian and philosopher Wolfram Schrems and with a foreword by the writer Martin Mosebach in German and is to be regarded as a standard reference work in German.
