Saint John’s Abbey Elects Accused Predator as Abbot

Here is Abt Klassen with another head of a moribund religious community, Justin Welby the Archlayman of Canterbury and the fraudulent Saint John’s Bible

Edit: +John Klassen had reached his expiration date and is getting retired at 75. Could it be the failing numbers of monks? Saint John’s Abbey may have the ugliest abbey church, but it is no longer the world’s largest Benedictine monastery in the world with only 100 monks compared to Saint Vincent Archabbey. So, this early retirement is unusual for a Bergoglian fellow traveler.  The tall vampiric abbot is trying as gracefully as he can, to get down from the abbatial throne and pass his crook to another crook.

The new head honcho monk is  a light in the loafers educator who was previously accused of interfering with a 15 year old male student at the Benedictine High School, Saint John’s Preparatory, the alma mater of the troubled FBI Agent Peter Strozk.

Despite the new Abbot Douglas Mullins then “adamantly” denying the charges, according to NPR, the courts have dismissed the case the Abbey filed to defend his “good name”. Mullin is not on the list of credibly accused predators, but it seems like he should be:

Mullin is not named on that list. But he was named in court documents filed by the abbey in 2016. That year, the abbey filed seven lawsuits in district court that had been served, but never filed, by plaintiffs’ attorneys shortly before a window for filing sexual abuse claims created by the Minnesota Child Victims Act closed.
The abbey said it filed the complaint at Mullin’s request “to restore his good name.” The lawsuit was dismissed in 2017.

It’s unusual to see NPR bringing up these embarrassing details in light of the glowing report given by legal beagle Jeff Anderson about Klassen’s deplorable career.

Well, it’s no big deal if Saint John’s has a predator abbot now, it’s had at least two, Abbots Eidenschenk and  Kelly who not only gave a pass to predators under their authority, but they created them.

And, as I never tire of reminding people, Saint John’s Abbey is the cradle of the rot of Vatican II with Liturgist Virgil Michel, Frank Kacmarcik (1920- 2004) and the evil Baldwin Dworschak, (1950-1971), just to name a few…

Source

It’s also noteworthy that the Saint John’s Abbey President emeritus, Father Bob Koopman, was accused of harassment by a piano student in 2016.  There are other revelations that he would read “ejaculation poetry” with students in the nude while knitting indecent socks for their private parts, while Koopman was an on floor resident.

An anonymous monk of the Abbey demanded that Koopman come clean. Koopman resigned from his post as University President when this monk confronted him. Koopman resigned in 2012.

Given the nature of these apparent offenses and the high profile resignation of one of Saint John’s senior monks, you’d expect a little more news coverage. There is no coverage on this story. Koopman is still on the SJU website and lists himself as a piano teacher.

Jack Pocobiec’s Special on Franco Banned on X

Edit: just what is the Marxist government of Spain afraid of that they are silencing this important witness, and why is X caving to their demands?

[Human Events] The Spanish government banned a Human Events special about the Spanish Civil War from X, on the basis that it is "Illegal or Harmful Speech."

A message from X to Human Events host Jack Posobiec reads, "In accordance with applicable law, X is now permanently withholding the reported content in Spain, specifically for the following legal grounds: Illegal or Harmful Speech."

What happened on January 6th?

Question: If a white cop shot an unarmed, 5 ft. 1 in.  black female veteran at a protest, would the country still be burning?

Ireland Doesn’t Have Enough Problems of Its Own — Replacement

Edit: now that Sinn Fein has bowed to the population control agenda to murder unborn Irishmen in their mother’s womb, these feminist slags and Marxist puppets are advocating for the elimination of the Irish people right there in the Dáil. And apparently, Ireland doesn’t have enough miscegenation, crime, chaos and the political unrest and poverty of the third world. After centuries of fighting the Briddish, a new oppressor is in control of every aspect of Irish politics and culture.

It’s almost as if, unable to defeat the Irish, the English will win by replacing the Irish with a hodgepodge of immigrants from violent cultures abroad.

Not “Dumb Dogs”: Bishop Aillet of Bayonne On Fiducia Supplicans

Bishop Aillet of Bayonne finds clear words about the Roman declaration Fiducia supplicans

From a Catholic Lady

On December 27, Marc Aillet, bishop of the diocese of Bayonne, Lescar and Oloron, released a statement on Fiducia supplicans, the Vatican declaration on the blessing of same-sex couples, calling on priests in his diocese to “prudence, the virtue of discernment.”  He encourages them to have a pastoral dialogue when dealing with so-called “homosexual couples”, but to reject couple blessings and, in conjunction with individual blessings, to call people to conversion and to “tell them clearly the truth that the Church teaches regarding their situation”.  He misses this clarity in Fiducia supplicans.

Bishop Aillet says what needs to be said.  The subtitle of his book Le temps des saints (The Time of the Saints), published in October, says it all: Let us not be dumb dogs.  In a time of faith confusion, he wants to strengthen believers by writing about the prophetic mission of the missionary Holy Church, the sacramental priesthood and the tasks and formation of the laity.  Neither excessive structural reforms nor adaptation to world developments are effective for the Church, but true priests in Christ and lay people educated through liturgy and catechesis are needed for a spiritual renewal of the Church, a “time of the saints” for the revitalization of Catholicism in Jesus  Christ.  (French book review here.)

His analysis of Fiducia supplicans is also based on one truth and grew out of “a time for reflection”.  In fact, his extensive writing testifies to a clear theological reflection on the meaning of blessings in the Church and gradually questions Cardinal Fernández's theological and semantic confusion, which “needs clarification”.

Associated with the French Community of St. Martin, the bishop is one of France's tradition-friendly shepherds.  Ordained a priest in Italy in 1982, he came to the diocese of Fréjus-Toulon from 1986 to 1992 and again in 1998, where Bishop Dominique Rey (sic!) appointed him vicar general in 2002.  Since October 2008 he has been Bishop of Bayonne, Lescar and Oloron.  In 2021, he reacted prudently to the Motu proprio Traditionis custodes, assured the faithful and priests associated with the tradition of his appreciation and confirmed the status quo for the celebration of the old Mass in his diocese.

He acknowledged that “the priests in the diocese of Bayonne who celebrate the liturgy according to the 1962 Missal are in full compliance with the Second Vatican Council, the legitimacy of the 1970 Missal, the expression par excellence of the lex orandi of the Latin Church,  recognize and cultivate a strong sense of ecclesial community […]” and particularly emphasized the young average age of the traditional believers, whose families “are very anxious to pass on the faith to their children”.

Only last autumn, at his invitation, the Canons of Lagrasse (Canons Regular of Our Lady of Lagrasse) established a new priory in the city of Pau.  The bishop explained that the canons living according to the rule of St. Augustine celebrate in the traditional Rite, but this does not conflict with Traditionis custodes, since the Church assigned to them within a newly established diocesan house is not a parish church and Masses are also held there in the Novus Ordo could be celebrated by other groups.

In the context of the publication of his current book, in which he also advocates liturgical peace, he recently expressed to the monthly magazine La Nef his “discomfort” caused by Traditionis custodes and emphasized that in his diocese “the liturgical difference between the two forms  “lived peacefully”, the priests and believers associated with the Vetus ordo are integrated into diocesan life and, above all, many young people find the sacrality they are looking for in this liturgy in a completely non-ideological way.

For many years, Bishop Aillet has repeatedly been a target by left-wing Catholics in his diocese who accuse the conservative bishop of being backwards and for whom priests in cassocks and Gregorian chant are anathema.  Added to this are Bishop Aillet's clear condemnation of abortion and euthanasia and the gay pride in Biarritz.

With his current statement, Bishop Aillet wants to act as a shepherd to care for his priests and faithful in the face of “stubborn ambiguities” in a “secularized society in which we are experiencing an unprecedented anthropological crisis”.  He gives clear instructions on how they should bear witness to the love and mercy of God in dealing with Fiducia supplicans in a pastoral attitude towards sinners, without abandoning the unchanging truth of the Church:

 - I invite the priests of the diocese to be welcoming to irregular couples or people who have a homosexual relationship: people should not feel judged but welcomed with a perceptive and listening attitude that promises them God's love.

 - Furthermore, I invite you to carry out a pastoral dialogue and to have the courage to tell them clearly the truth, for the good of people and with the appropriate sensitivity, without judging them and by involving themselves personally in the pastoral relationship,  that the Church teaches regarding their situation.

 - Finally, I invite you to give them a blessing when people ask for it, provided that it is individual for each person, calling them to conversion and inviting them to ask for the help of grace that the Lord  granted to all who ask him to bring their lives into harmony with the will of God.”

Msgr. Marc Aillet, Bishop of Bayonne, Lescar and Oloron

Hungarian Bishops Oppose Fiducia Supplicans

The Hungarian Bishops' Conference also opposes the Roman declaration of Fiducia supplicans

The rejection of the declaration of Fiducia supplicans poured over Rome like an avalanche.  Contradiction comes from all parts of the world.  After virtually all black African bishops' conferences, the Polish and Hungarian bishops' conferences have also rammed their "no" into the ground.

The Hungarian Bishops' Conference under its President Msgr. András Veres, Bishop of Győr, published a statement on Wednesday on the blessings for “irregular” couples.  Here is the full text:

“At Christmas we celebrated the joy that God is with us and for us, who with merciful love has invited all people to communion with him.  With this in mind, we, members of the Hungarian Bishops' Conference, address the pastors and believers of our local church with the following message.

The Declaration of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of Faith Fiducia Supplicans on the Pastoral Meaning of Blessings, issued on December 18, 2023, does not change the conviction and consistent teaching of the Catholic Church on marriage and sexual morality.  In view of the pastoral situation in our country, the Bishops' Conference specifies that all people can be blessed individually by pastors, regardless of their gender identity and sexual orientation, but a common blessing must be given to couples who are in a non-marital union, in a union that is not valid in the Church  Marriage or living in a same-sex partnership should always be avoided.

At the same time, let us accompany our sisters and brothers who live in special life situations with love and respect, and help them to gain a deeper understanding of God's will on the path of the Gospel of Christ.”

Monsignor János Székely, the Bishop of Szombathely, implemented the joint declaration of the Hungarian bishops in his diocese yesterday.  Msgr. Székely is a member of the four-member Permanent Council of the Bishops' Conference.  In his pastoral letter he writes:

 Bishop János Székely

“When a same-sex couple asks for a blessing, especially by asking for it together, they are expressing that they also want to ask for God's blessing and the Church's moral approval for their relationship and life choices.  We would be perverting the gospel of Christ and not doing what we should do as pastors to such a couple if we gave them a blessing in such a case.”

And further:

“The Gospel of Christ is not only about God’s infinite mercy, but it also calls us all to repentance.  If this second half is left out, it becomes a false Gospel.  Jesus calls us to enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the way that leads to destruction (Luke 13:24).  He invites us to light our candle and put on wedding clothes so that we will not find ourselves at the closed door on the last day (Matt. 22:11; 25:1-13).  Jesus protects marriage with special strength and jealous love: “God created man and woman at the beginning of creation.”

And as well:

“The Bible and the sacred tradition of the Church hold same-sex sexual relationships to be morally wrong (Genesis 19; Rom 1:26-27; 1 Cor 6:9-10; 1 Tim 1:10; CEC 2357).  The law of Christ is demanding, God’s mercy is not cheap mercy, His love is not lukewarm love.”

From this follows, according to Bishop Székely:

“Therefore, in accordance with the decision of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference, I call on priests not to bless same-sex couples in the Szombathely diocese.  Let us welcome with great love and respect our brothers and sisters who are attracted to people of the same sex, but let us not justify their wrong life choices, but rather help them on the path of life according to the Gospel of Christ.  This makes us real, authentic shepherds and brothers.”

“Whoever Doesn’t Have a Good Relationship With Pope Francis, Isn’t Catholic “

At the end of the year, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi waves his rod against critics of the Fiducia Supplicans pontificate

(Rome) Resistance to the Roman declaration Fiducia supplicans on homosexual blessings is internal.  There is great indignation among the faithful, including in Italy, where the maxim of not wanting to be “more papal than the Pope” applies.  Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the chairman of the Italian Bishops' Conference, now threatened to use the rod to discipline the clergy and believers.

Today TV2000, the bishops' television station, is broadcasting an interview with the cardinal as a review of the year and an outlook.  Zuppi, with his unmistakable Roman accent, belongs to the Community of Sant'Egidio.  He was appointed archbishop of Bologna, Italy's left-wing stronghold par excellence, by Pope Francis and created a cardinal.  Zuppi is very close to Francis and is used by him as a peace mediator in the Ukrainian war.  In addition, the 68-year-old cardinal is considered the Bergoglian papabile in the next conclave.

A central content of the interview was distributed in advance by the Italian state press agency ANSA.  The wish is that this part of the message in particular should reach people.  According to ANSA, Zuppi first emphasizes:

“There is a good dialectical relationship between the Italian Church and Pope Francis.”

To then get to the actual message:

"If you're Catholic and you don't have good relations with the Pope, then maybe you've forgotten that you're Catholic, I think."

In other words, anyone who does not follow Pope Francis “is not Catholic.”  In the current context, the statement is obviously aimed at contradicting Fiducia supplicans.

Of course, the cardinal continued, this applies in principle to “every pope,” but of course, “as always in life,” one can feel “closer to one pope than to others” because of one’s own history, “because of sensitivity, because of some words.”  but it’s always about the Pope.”  However, the rod that Zuppi wields is intended to discipline the clergy and believers not for just any pope, but for Francis.

In the context, there is also a reference to the Fiducia supplicans declaration, which is currently causing tempers to flare up.  Zuppi packages his support for “Love is Love”, the slogan of irregular relationships, especially the gay movement, as follows:

“Sometimes the church also has a certain idea, which I think is distorted, to think that it has the copyright on love, 'the real one is ours, the other's is worth a little less'.  Obviously we then understand that our Lord is much wider than our hearts, and he allows us to discover many beautiful, incredible testimonies, many examples.  How can you have a master so great and yet be such a failure?  The Church is not an NGO, it is much more.”

Such statements, with the approval of Pope Francis, have been known for years by the Viennese Archbishop Christoph Cardinal Schönborn.

As a further example of the “dialectical relationship,” Zuppi cited the fact that Francis had asked the bishops’ conference “to be light, to do a lot with little, to help, but not to do it because we have the means, but to use the means,  to do things.”

Because of his papal mission as a peace broker in the Ukraine conflict, the cardinal commutes between Kiev, Moscow, Washington and Beijing.  So far, however, it has been largely unsuccessful.  Regarding his commitment, he said with reference to Francis:

“We must do everything to achieve peace because war hurts, it kills, it is a pandemic.”

Feast of the Holy Innocents

INTROIT Ps. 8:3
Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings, O God, You have fashioned praise because of Your enemies.
Ps. 8:2.
O Lord, our Lord, how glorious is Your name over all the earth!
V. Glory be . . .

Edit: It used to be a day of fasting and penance, but now it passes all but unnoticed in Christendom.  This post is in remembrance of the lost, for all of the innocents trafficked even in the West, or who are murdered in their mother’s wombs, all of the waifs who are swept up by the dark souls who lurk on the roads and streets in lonely places.

Red is Not Red, But Green, As Long As You Firmly Believe it

The post-truth Robert Habeck method seems to be popular in Santa Marta

A few years ago the term “post-truth” came up. Is it really enough to say that something is not what it obviously is? Cardinal Tucho Fernández, Pope Francis' favorite protégé, seems to be of this opinion.

A statement by the German Economics Minister Robert Habeck from the Green Party became a popular example of post-truth thinking: When asked whether he expected a wave of bankruptcies this winter, he replied: “No, I don't. I can imagine that certain industries will simply stop producing and selling." Some church leaders seem to have a similar opinion, for example with regard to Fiducia supplicans, the new declaration of the Dicastery of Faith on the blessing of couples in irregular situations (remarried divorcees, homosexuals). When asked whether the Church now blesses homosexual sin, Santa Marta answers: No, it just looks like that, but it is not the case, because nowhere does it say that sin is blessed.

So is a simple denial really enough to deny the obvious and everything is clarified, cleaned up and good? If the prefect of the faith, Victor Manuel “Tucho” Cardinal Fernández, who has been in office since September, has his way, that is the case. He made three media appearances within a short period of time to defend Fiducia supplicans using the Habeck method. Such an approach apparently leads some believers to come to the conclusion that the much older Götz von Berlichingen method is actually being used towards them, which - at least everyone will agree on this - would be less than respectful.

One medium that gave Tucho Fernández an opportunity for his capers is the leading Spanish bourgeois daily newspaper ABC. The interview conducted by Javier Martínez-Brocal was published yesterday, St. Stephen's Day.

ABC: How can you respond to the reactions expressed against the document by various episcopal conferences, cardinals and bishops?

Cardinal Fernández: If you read the text calmly, you will see that it clearly and simply represents what has always been the Catholic teaching on marriage and sexuality. It is clear that these conferences or bishops cannot contradict this teaching.

ABC: What happens now? So why do they reject this blessing?

Cardinal Fernández: You point out the impropriety involved in carrying out blessings in your regional environment, which could easily be misunderstood as legitimizing an irregular association. Add to that the fact that there are laws in Africa that punish the mere fact of being homosexual with prison - so imagine a blessing. In reality, it is up to each local bishop to make this decision in his diocese or, in any case, to provide further guidance.

ABC: What element is not taken into account by those who oppose blessing gay couples?

Cardinal Fernández: I don't think it is clear that the central theme of the document is the value of "non-liturgical", "non-ritualized" blessings, which do not constitute a marriage, not even a "consent" or a marriage represent ratification of anything. They are simply a pastor's response to two people's request for God's help. And in this case the priest does not impose any conditions.

ABC: Can you give an example of where this blessing is given?

Cardinal Fernández: Imagine that, in the middle of a great pilgrimage, a divorced couple entering into a new relationship says to the priest: “Please bless us. We can't find work and he is very sick, life is becoming very difficult for us, God help us”. Would you refuse such a blessing?

ABC: I don't see a problem with that.

Cardinal Fernández: And if you were gay, would you reject it? You see, a blessing is neither an acknowledgment of the marriage, nor an affirmation of the life they lead, nor an absolution. It is a simple gesture of pastoral closeness that does not have the same requirements as a sacrament. We will have to get used to understanding that a priest who gives this kind of simple blessing is not a heretic, is not ratifying anything, nor is he denying Catholic teaching on marriage.

ABC: Some have celebrated this as a first step toward doctrinally legitimizing divorce or same-sex marriage. Is this view correct?

Cardinal Fernández: This view is completely wrong, and anyone who says so has either not read the text or has “mala leche” (with bad intention), if you will pardon the expression. The statement clearly states that these are non-ritualized blessings and therefore should not be interpreted as a marriage.

ABC: How should that be interpreted?

Cardinal Fernández: The declaration unequivocally affirms that there is only one marriage (male-female, indissoluble, exclusive, etc.) and that sexual intercourse is permissible only in this context. There is no more classic approach than this.

So much for the favorite of Pope Francis, who is also the new Prefect of the Catholic Church. Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, the former apostolic nuncio to the USA, described Fiducia supplicans as “hypocritical and deceptive”. The people affected would be “deceived and betrayed”. He contradicts Santa Marta's statement that the new declaration reaffirms the “teaching of all times,” as Tucho Fernández claims. In reality it is a “diabolical falsification” and a “blasphemous forgery”. He even sees an “intrinsically evil purpose” at work with the new document, as it deprives God of honor and exposes souls to the danger of damnation: “It prevents people from doing good and encourages them to do evil.
