Archbishop Gänswein Defends Benedict’s Criticism of Modern Civilization at Ordination for Four New Priests at Heiligenkreuz

Private Secretary of Benedict XVI. at the ordination of a priest in Heiligenkreuz Abbey: "Anyone who would like to invent a new Church, who wants to tinker with his DNA, is on the wrong track and misuses his spiritual authority".

Vienna (kath.net/KAP) A visit from a very important person to a high feast day in the Cistercian Monastery of Heiligenkreuz: Curial Archbishop Georg Gänswein ordained four men on Saturday afternoon - Fr. Isaak Käfferlein, Fr. Georg Winter, Fr. Aelred Davies from Heiligenkreuz Monastery and Fr. Fabian Eibl from the parish parish house in Paring, Germany St. Michael - in the abbey church. The four had already been consecrated as deacons last August. With currently 314 students, the Hochschule Heiligenkreuz is one of the largest priestly training centers in Europe.

In his sermon, Gänswein compared the priestly ministry with that of a sailor on a lighthouse capable of positively influencing people's course and protecting them from danger. At the same time, the private secretary of the emeritus Pope Benedict XVI., encouraged them not to succumb to the temptation to proclaim  "self-driven theories" instead of the Gospel: "If priests and bishops no longer have the courage to preach the Gospel, but their own wisdom, there is evil and headlines - and haven’t we had it more than enough in the recent times?” asked Gänswein. And he warned, "Whoever wants to invent a new Church, whoever wants to tinker around with his DNA, is on the wrong track and abuses his spiritual authority.”

The background of these discussions should also be a controversial text Benedict XVI. in which the emeritus Pope had last presented a personal record and analysis of the abuse scandal and its consequences for the Church. As a central cause of abuse, Benedict mentions a demolition of faith in Western societies since the 1960s and a departure from Catholic moral teaching. This had also had a profound impact on priests and priestly education. A way out in the current crisis situation would not be accomplished with the change of the Church, but in the conversion of each individual to a deeper faith, says Benedict XVI. in his text.

Many theologians had then spoken with some sharp criticism of the text. Benedict XVI has received support, however, e.g.  from the abbey of Heiligenkreuz: This was emphasized by Abbot Maximilian Heim and the rector of the Benedict XVI Philosophical Theological College named after the emeritus Pope. Heiligenkreuz, P. Wolfgang Buchmüller, in a congratulatory letter to Benedict, published on the website of the convent, said that they were "full of admiration for your accurate and timely analysis" on the subject of abuse and that Benedict's statements "lead the way out of the crisis... We only hope that these words will be heard.”

University festival on April 30 and monastery market

Also in the next few days, the party atmosphere at the Heiligenkreuz Abbey continues: on April 30, University Rector Buchmüller, Abbot Heim and students of the university invite you to a Thanksgiving and Sponsorship Party and an "open day" with guided tours and presentations (start: 15:00). At 18:00 vespers will take place in the abbey church. The closing of the event at 19:00 is a ceremony with the honoring of supporters of the university and the appearance of the well-known band "Cardiac Move". [Cringe]

As part of the Thanksgiving and Sponsorship Party, the music prize "Vocation Music Award" will be officially presented, this year for the first time honoring musicians who deal with the theme of vocation in their songs. Until June 30th, songs can still be submitted at www.vocation-music-award.at. The winners will be announced on 23rd August at a final show at the "Key2Life" festival.

Finally, the traditional Heiligenkreuzer Klostermarkt [Monastery Market] will take place on Wednesday, May 1. More than 40 monasteries from Austria and neighboring countries will be offering craft products and culinary delights from 09:00 to 18:00. The visitors of the Klostermarkt are also invited to guided tours and at 12:00  and 18:00 to participate in the Latin choral prayer of the monks in the abbey church. Open Borders Empowering Assault on Christians

By David Martin

Easter is a time to rise from the polluted sepulcher of this world and to see things spiritually as they truly are. The Blessed Virgin at Fatima warned that if Russia was not converted through the daily Rosary and the Consecration of that nation to Her Immaculate Heart, the errors of Communism would spread throughout the world and even into the Church.

The fact is that Russia was never converted to the Faith, and what do we see today but the highest ranks of the hierarchy and even the pope engaging in political activism and advocating a policy of open borders for the advance of a communistic one-world government. Francis more than once has said that it is the communists who think like Christians, so we see clearly that Communism has made its inroads into the Church.

The Fruits of Ignoring Fatima

What opening our borders has done is to open the door to all the murder and mayhem we’ve been seeing in places like Germany, France, and now in Sri Lanka where 325 people were killed and 500 injured at the hands of Islamic terrorists on Easter SundayThe Communist regime of Russia is simply using the Islamic element to execute its reign of terror while using Francis to sell the idea of a borderless one-world government.
In his May 2017 release, The Political Pope, Catholic author George Neumayr points out how Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio [Pope Francis] was virtually cradled in Communism and how his Communist formation is presently exerting great influence on the universal Church, so this Easter Season is the appropriate time for world leaders to come out of their sepulchers and recognize that Francis’ open border policy is abetting this redassault on the nationshttps://onepeterfive.com/interview-george-neumayr-author-political-pope/

Satanic “Church” Recognized by IRS for Tax Exemption

Satanic temple recognized as "church" and tax exempt.

(New York) The satanic temple of Salem in Massachusetts was classified by the federal tax authority as a "church" and thus tax exempt.

Based in Salem, a 40,000-plus city satellite organization, the satellite-host organization recently announced that it has received notification of its new tax status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the US Federal Tax Agency.

As the Temple of Satan also said, the tax exemption will help the organization in the legal battle "against religious discrimination.” The new tax status allows Satanists to apply to public agencies for subsidies granted on the basis of freedom of worship to guarantee them. It could now claim public land as other religious organizations.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) did not comment.

The Temple of Satan claims at the same time to be an "atheistic" union. The members are not devil worshipers. According to their own information, they want to use religious freedom to fight against religion.

However, the image material published on the Facebook page makes this thesis doubtful. Anyone who acts as a Satanist also seems to be a Satanist. On the other hand, it seems correct that the thrust of Satanist activity is anti-Christian.

The organization is responsible for temporarily erecting a Satanic memorial in front of the Capitol of the State of Arkansas to "protest" against the erection of a monument to the Ten Commandments.

Seat of the Satan Temple in Salem with aberrosexual flag.

In Scottsdale, Arizona, the Satanist organization demanded that members of the City Council should be banned from the prayer that traditionally begins each session.

It is "time" that they are recognized by the federal authorities as a "church", as the federal tax authority has just done, the satanists published on the Internet.

Their jubilation is great:

"The Satanic Temple is now the only federally recognized international religious Satanic organization".

Their slogan is:

"Hail Satan!"

Satanist festival in the presence of satanic sculpture.

They moved their seat according to own report to Salem, because a witch trial took place there in 1692.  19 people were executed because of puritanical hysteria for alleged pacts with the devil in the Puritan settlement. The subject has been repeatedly processed in literature since the early 19th century. This connection was brought to collective consciousness, in particular, by Arthur Miller's play The Crucible ("Witch Hunt"), which premiered in 1953. Miller was thus criticizing the defense against Communists by Senator Joseph McCarthy, which he labeled a "witch hunt".

Since then, the topic has been taken up by various authors, directors and programmers in books, films and computer games, with an upward trend in the new century. The city itself takes advantage of the macabre interest in ghost stories or "hidden forces" for tourism. Several witch museums have been set up and special events are offered on Halloween. [Maybe the Puritans were on to something?]

The Removal of Iconostases of the West and the People’s Altar

Altar and Church, presented by Stefan Heid in his latest book

By Christoph Matthias Hagen

When, fifty years ago, the liturgical reform of Paul VI. for which the Pope appealed to the decisions of the Second Vatican Council, it was often and gladly argued, that it was nothing different from what happened more than 400 years before, when Pius V. issued his Missal on behalf of the Council of Trent. In fact, both councils relied on the norm of the fathers, which they would use to restore the liturgy. The Council of Trent had brought the Tridentine Missal of Pius V, where the II Vaticanum was followed by the Missale Romanum of Paul VI. In fact, both books have the same Latin name: Missale Romanum, and the number of the typical editions begins again after Vatican II.

If one looks at the Roman liturgy in its rites and texts before and after Trent, one immediately recognizes continuity and the closest possible agreement, where, after the Second Vatican Council, two different liturgies, one old and one new, are strikingly distinguished. Too different are apparently the understandings of history and the working of both councils and what it is they each understand of the Standard of the Fathers and how far they reach to the Fathers’ title.

Stefan Heid, who works in Rome as a professor of liturgical history and Christian archeology, was editor of an anthology entitled Operation am Lebendem Objekt in 2012 [Operating on a Living Object], in which there are contributions that show where in fact similarities of post-Tridentine-Pian and post-Vatican-Paul liturgical reform lie. These can hardly be found in dealing with rites and texts, but in the field of church construction and sanctuary design. It was not the software that determines how the liturgy comes to life in a similar way, but both Councils have installed new hardware, so to speak. Similarly, almost identically, is in both cases also the reason for this reorganization and redesign of the liturgical place and its equipment as an educational-catechetical motif.

Heid dedicates this issue to a large-scale monograph just published by Schnell & Steiner in Regensburg: Kirche und Altar. Prinzipien Christliches Liturgie.

Two altars before Trent, two altars after Vatican II

While in the liturgical reform of Paul VI. above all, it requires the people can see the altar, so a second altar was set up in front of the high altar, there was in pre-Tridentine times the rood screen, which separated the presbytery from the nave, where the faithful arrived. Behind the rood screen in the choir was the high altar in cathedral and monastery churches, which the laity, however, could not see, and therefore, in front of the rood screen there was the so-called cross altar, both of which were oriented. Masses were celebrated at this altar, in which the people were directly involved, in this sense, it could even be regarded as a kind of people’s altar.

Choral side of the rood screen of the Cathedral of Albi (view from nave).

In post-Tridentine times, the rood screens were removed, which sometimes took a hundred years, and no longer erected in new churches to clear the view to the high altar. The altar that had become superfluous in this way merged with the high altar, so to speak, or it came to an altar fusion, so to speak. The communion rail remained a relic of the former choir barriers, as it were, a shrunken or miniature rood screen.

After the Second Vatican, the new altar (Josef Andreas Jungmann SJ) was added in the sanctuary, behind which the priest now stepped to celebrate. The Communion rail disappeared as well, so basically the difference between the sanctuary and the nave was lost.

Celebration versus Populum in the Liturgical Movement

It should not be forgotten, however, that already in the 1920s and 1930s in liturgical circles the establishment of modern people’s altars took place, such as in the crypt of the Benedictine Maria Laach in the East Eifel or from 1926 in the Cologne Basilica of the Holy Apostles. This was believed to be in accordance with early Christian custom and with the findings that archeology had brought to light, so was just convinced, not to introduce any innovation, but to revive the ideal state of ancient times.

This perspective was then officially prescribed after the Council, which had been held from 1962 to 1965, and practically lasts until today.

Hopefully Heid will not end up like Ratzinger

Joseph Ratzinger later regretted that his book, The Spirit of Liturgy had been shortened on the question of celebration. Of course, if Heid consciously concentrates on the altar question in his work, it may well be that it happens to him in a similar way, which would be a pity.

The context of the problem that Heid faces is much further defined:

First of all, the idea that the early Christians had met for the Eucharistic celebration as many, smaller, worship groups in various private houses within a city, and in the sources, the Latin term, domus ecclesiae meaning “house churches” in this sense. Heid, on the other hand, advocates that domus ecclesiae means church buildings, and that in every city there is basically only one episcopal, central Eucharistic place (see pp. 89f).

"The scientific dispute over the organizational form of the emerging Christianity, which can be described as 'house church versus bishop's church', ends in favor of the episcopal church and the unity of the municipality. The popular thesis of a plural urban Christianity fragmented into small cult groups must be radically questioned "(p. 158, in italics in the text).
Of course, one must not overlook the fact that early Christianity, as a movement, has known manifold, different, and also path-breaking lines of development. There may have been various Christian Eucharistic sites in one city, but in principle, only one Catholic, in unity with the rightful bishop. Heid also argues that the private gathering requires Christianity to be a movement of a few rich, who, in modern terms, could afford the luxury of a private chapel. If this condition had been applied, it would have stood in the way of the widespread effect of Christianity and its spread. It might have been elitist, but undoubtedly remained small and soon drowned again.

Nevertheless, one should not think of the Christian community in the early days as a mass movement, that even from this perspective a singular place of liturgical gathering would not have been logistically possible, especially as Heid emphasizes that a Sunday duty can not be projected onto this early temporal and organizational stage. The precept of Sunday sanctification is just to be distinguished from this question.

Similarly, some of Heidi's statement is less likely to obey that orienteering is primarily related to (even extra-liturgical) prayers and says nothing about whether the Eucharist is perceived as a sacrifice or not (see page 449). Rather, this impression arises from the modern folk altar, through whose table shape and the celebration facing the people (and usually a deliberately asymmetrical decoration of candles and flowers) the meal comes to the fore and the character of the victim is downplayed.

Supposed papal privilege and modern folk altar
"When Pope Julius II begins in 1506, to demolish the 1200-year-old St. Peter's -  Old St. Peter - to make way for the new, mighty renaissance cathedral, for many, a world collapses in the face of such sacrilege. (...) However, where the living tradition has been demolished, there is the danger of making the early Church into  one's own picture of it. (...) There are drastic reconstructions of the old rooms” (p. 407f).

With the Renaissance, the sense of the meaning of the direction of prayer and celebration was lost in Rome. Not a few churches were there, so that the popes celebrated to the east and were practically turned to the people, but not with the intention to look at them, but to orient themselves geographically eastward. This knowledge and understanding was lost:

Altar of the Sistine Chapel: on the west wall with the celebration direction West

Altar of the Sistine Chapel on the west wall with the celebration direction West.

"Paradigmatic is the high altar of the Sistine Chapel, which stands on the west wall. The pope celebrates with his back to the people and looks to the west. Many public station Masses are celebrated in the city are liturgically wrong now. The 'altar of St. Peter' plays a central role in this. Without even understanding that here the liturgy (sic ! it must be called correct Liturgy apparently, reviewer’s note ChMH) is right behind the altar and looks to the east, the popes reclaim a general privilege to celebrate versus populum. (...) Consequentially, Pope Sixtus V had the papal altars of the great basilicas rebuilt in order to celebrate to the people, regardless of whether he is looking to the east or the west. (...) The liturgical experts of the time celebrate this as the restoration of early Christian conditions " (p. 441, in italics in the text).

Following the Baumstark principle of the preservation of the old in high-quality liturgy, the alleged privilege of the pope is then understood as a remnant in which original, once common practice has been preserved.

Thus, later in the Liturgical Movement and post-Vatican-Pauline liturgical reform, one becomes convinced that the direction of celebration is to return to the original, while the modern people’s altar and the altar of the early Christians actually have at most the accessible, but not the actually significant and essential turn to the geographical east, towards an orientation that is intentionally to the direction of East.

While in a first phase of the most recent form of liturgy it was often the case, for example, to give a baroque or neo-Baroque altar to a baroque church, and to give the impression that it had been there in 1745, one now increasingly notices that the now insalled people’s altars often can not deviate drastically enough from the historical space in terms of material and design, so provocatively they are designed and placed. In many places, too, they are moving more and more into the center, whereas the altar itself was never centered in historically round buildings, but was set back to the east.

Stefan Heid also does not leave such questions unaffected.

New folk altar, which deviates drastically from historical space in terms of material and design.

Perhaps it is simply that today's liturgical science or liturgical ideology no longer has any interest in legitimizing itself with the proof or appearance of originality, but rather to immovably demonstrate its own, altogether different and new understanding of the Eucharist in the new altar opposite to its origin and tradition.

Steve Skojec is Bored With Traditionalism

Edit: Steve is deep in thought. Yes, he’s pensive, promethian and pondering whether he can continue the onerous task of being the world’s #1 Traditional Catholic media source. His titanic labors are beginning to bore him. What new tasks will he take unto himself?

Maybe being a being America’s #1 Traditional Catholic e-celeb isn’t all it’s cracked
up to be?

Steve says he feels he’s in a bit of a straightjacket right now.

That’s the problem with making a blog about your visceral reactions about the things that go on with something like the Catholic Church.  The Wanderer, for its shortcomings and the human frailties in its editors and staff, has been around for 150 years. I doubt 1P5 will make it past the Summer.  Hilary White’s gone too. [Correction: she has opened [returned to her old blog] a new blog called https://anglocath.blogspot.com/ which looks a lot more introspective. Some people’s personal reflections on Catholicism might be of interest.]
All the best to them!

Here’s a sample of the outlet Steve wants to write for at Medium.

“Comedian” Interrupts Easter Mass at Vienna’s Cathedral With Pizza Delivery

A "comedian" disguised as a pizza delivery boy disturbed the Mass in the cathedral.

Edit: Maybe it was a pizza delivery man disguised as a pizza delivery boy? Or maybe it was a publicity stunt disguised as a comedy routine? They should take their act in the Hadj.

Vienna (kath.net) The group "Wiener Schmäh" [Vienna Revile]  disrupted Mass in St. Stephen's Cathedral on Easter Sunday. A "comedian" disguised as a pizza delivery boy had disturbed Mass in the cathedral. At first, as one video shows, a man kneels in front of the altar and apparently prays, when a pizza delivery man comes to the church and delivers the desired pizza Margherita. Security staff have detained the comedians and notified the police that the comedians are now facing a penalty for disturbing public order and degrading religious beliefs.

Edit: It looks like it was Easter Sunday, but it also looks dark outside. I checked out the diocesan website, and they have a Mass at 7pm on Easter Sunday. Talk about illicit. There were a lot of empty chairs, which seemed unusual, even in Austria, but perhaps these really late evening Gnostic-Style Masses aren’t very popular.

Not only that, but what’s going on with the ugly frippery hanging from the ceiling? Despite Schönborn being the local ordinary and a aberrosexual promoting rector in Tony Faber, it’s hard to override the beauty and piety inherent to the place.

It’s not clear why people thought this was funny. There are a lot of dislikes on the video, but many more likes and the comment section has a lot of people asking Wiener Schmäh why they don’t try this gag in a mosque with pork.

Swiss Bishop Doesn’t Need Sexual Morality of the Church

Bishop Felix Gmür has said that sexual morality is not the core competence of the church and that it should have less say.

Basel (kath.net) The Basel Bishop Felix Gmür claimed in an interview with the Church paper of the diocese of Basel that in the catechism on the subject of sexual morality, there is too little scientific knowledge  and being receptive of the  changed reality of life, and there is a need for action. Gmür said that sexual morality is not the core competence of theChurch  and that it should have less to say about it. "It should talk less about it and not moralize, but give priority to the conscience of people and not judge," said the bishop.

Pilgrimages of Tradition to Notre Dame

Pentecost pilgrimage of the Tradition 2019

(Paris) From Saturday, June 8, to Whit Monday, June 10, the 37th International Pentecost Pilgrimage of Tradition takes place from Paris to Chartres. Starting point of the pilgrimage was the cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris, which was engulfed in flames on the evening of April 15.

From Paris to Chartres

"Even if it burned down ... on to Paris for the Whit Pilgrimage 2019 from Paris to Chartres!", is what it reads in the flyer.

Pentecost Pilgrimage 2019 of the Ecclesia Dei communities

The pilgrimage of 2019 is under the motto "The peace of Christ through the kingdom of Christ.” The Organizing Committee is close to the so-called Ecclesia Dei communities, which are in full unity with the Church. The altar service will be performed this year by the Institute of Christ King and Sovereign Priest.

The pilgrimage led so far from the Marian Cathedral of Paris to the Marian Cathedral of Chartres. The goal remains the same, the new starting point, where the Holy Mass is celebrated at the beginning of the pilgrimage, has not yet been announced. The organizers of the committee Notre-Dame de Chrétienté are looking for a suitable substitute able to welcome the large crowd of mainly young pilgrims.

"This year's pilgrimage has received a special significance because of the fire. Let us hurry to Paris, to Notre-Dame, in the name of tradition! "

Information and participation on the official website for the pilgrimage: Notre-Dame de Chrétienté.

The US Chapter, co-ordinated by The Remnant publisher, has a new website with a video that gives an impression of the tradition of the Pentecost pilgrimage. See also the following video:

From Chartres to Paris

Pentecost pilgrimage 2019 of the Pius Brotherhood

First undertaken in 1983, the Pentecost pilgrimage split due to the legitimate but unauthorized episcopal ordinations, which Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre performed in 1988. Since then, a special pilgrimage on Pentecost has been carried out by the Society of St. Pius X, which takes the opposite route, that is, from Chartres to Paris. Because of her unclear canonical situation, the episcopal churches are not available to them. Also, at the starting point in Chartres and at the destination in Paris, the Holy Masses are therefore celebrated in the open air.

The Pentecost pilgrimage is organized by the Society of Saint Pius under the motto "Serving Christendom".

Both pilgrimages have in common that  they will cover the approximately 100 kilometers between Paris and Chartres and vice versa on foot.

Information and participation on the official website of the pilgrimage: Pelegrinages de Tradition.

Information and opportunities for interested pilgrims from the German-speaking countries can be found on the websites of the respective communities and their branches.

Horror Missae: Priest Dresses as Easter Egg for Mass

Easter Sunday in Lecce: Pastor disguises himself as an Easter egg: "We are Easter. We all become the Easter egg. "

(Rome) While the blood of Christian martyrs was shed in Sri Lanka, on Easter Sunday a priest operated as an animator of his parish. He disguised himself for the Easter Mass as an Easter egg.

In Sri Lanka numerous bombs exploded. The Islamic assassins relentlessly demanded blood. In the
churches of Kotahena, Negombo and Batticaloa still held the bodies of slain Christians. They had gathered to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, the most significant event for all humanity. The same is true of the faithful of the parish of St. Bernardine Realino in the episcopal city of Lecce in southern Italy.

The Christians in Sri Lanka expected death from the bombs of the Islamic terrorist militia Islamic State (IS). The Christians of the parish of Saint Bernardine Realino of Lecce awaited their pastor - disguised as an Easter egg.

Don Nando Capone appeared in his parish church as an Easter egg and in his homily also called on the faithful to "be Easter eggs themselves:”

"We are Easter. Each of you should be an Easter egg, a sign of new life, a surprise. Go beyond any wickedness, that is resurrection. "

This spiritually and theologically so "high" and "profound" interpretation of Easter is found readily in the superficial media circus.

The local Internet newspaper Lecce sette headlined enthusiastically:

Don Nando Superstar: The Easter sermon drives the Internet crazy

Let the show go on.

The sermon was posted as a video on Facebook with the comment:

"Happy Easter! Great Don Nando! The most beautiful sermon in the world!

Saint Bernard Realino was born in 1530 in Carpi, northern Italy. He studied medicine and law in Bologna. He exercised the office of mayor, Judge and prpsecutor in the following years in various cities in northern Italy. His legal skills quickly made him a sought after and successful professional man. In the wake of Prince Francesco Fernando d'Avalos d 'Aquino d'Aragona, viceroy in Habsburg Sicily, Bernhardin went to Naples. There, in 1564, after a Marian apparition, he decided to give up his career and enter the still-young, Jesuit order. Consecrated as a priest in 1567, Saint Francisco de Borgia, the third Superior General of the Jesuit Order, made him novice master in Naples. In 1574, the Order sent him to Apulia to found a branch in Lecce. There he worked as a gifted spiritual leader and preacher with great effect on the people and promoted the moral theological formation of the diocesan priests, of whom he made better confessors and preachers.

In 1610 he suffered two wounds in a fall, which no longer healed. Before his death in 1616, blood was taken from him, which liquefied as a "blood miracle" until the mid-19th century. During a canonical recognition in 1711, parts of his body were found unexplained, swimming in a dark red liquid that emitted a fragrant scent. The same thing was repeated in the case of recognition in the years 1804 and 1852. It could no longer be ascertained during the 1985 review.

When Saint Robert Bellarmine heard of his brother's death, he said:

"I've never heard a complaint about Father Realino, even though I was his provincial. Even those who were hostile to the Society and used every opportunity to talk unfavorably about them always made an exception for Realino. ... Everyone knows that he is a saint. "

The tomb of St. Bernardine Realino

In 1838, Pope Gregory XVI. the heroic virtue of Father Bernardino Realino was recognized. Pope Leo XIII. declared him blessed in 1896, after recognizing two miracles attributed to his intercession. After two more miracles, and the recognition of the commissions responsible, his canonization. was carried out by Pope Pius XII. In 1947.

In the same year, the same Pope appointed him Patron of Lecce. So great was his reputation of holiness already during his lifetime, that in 1616 the city fathers of Lecce asked him on his deathbed twice to be patron of the city as soon as he got to heaven. The saint nodded twice.

The remains of Saint Bernard Realino are buried in the Jesuit church of Lecce.

There are worlds between Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka and the Easter performance of Lecce. There are also worlds between the holy patron Bernhardin Realino and Don Nando Capone.

Great Grandson of Kaiser Talks About His Faith

Race car driver and Kaiser-great-grandson: "The teaching of the Catholic Church helps me to keep developing my relationship with my Creator continuously."

Vienna (kath.net) "The teaching of the Catholic Church helps me to keep developing my relationship with my Creator, and keeps reminding me that there is more to it than what can be grasped
by the Hands.” With clear words, racer and Kaiser-great-grandson Ferdinand Habsburg gave an interview with "News" about his Catholic faith. According to his observations, the happier people are all spiritual. A special model of faith for him was his grandfather, Otto von Habsburg. Only at the age of 19 did Ferdinand become a confirmand, which at the time, he was very convinced about and ready for the important Sacrament. For the first time two years ago, where he had consciously sensed that there was a God. In the meantime, he has found his spiritual home in the Catholic Church. "Anyway, I'm certainly praying on a daily basis." Once upon a time somebody mentioned my belief on the plane because he noticed that I was praying the rosary, which was an interesting conversation.” On Sundays and public holidays, he goes to Holy Mass regularly, but sometimes he likes to go to Church alone to pray.

When asked how he would explain to an atheist the need to believe, Habsburg said:  "An atheist believes that there is no God. I truly believe that He exists. The existence of God can not be scientifically proven, but neither that he does not exist. We all believe in something, and in that sense I do not need to explain anything to him, because he has this need to believe, just like me, except that he just believes that there is only here and now." But he does not want to force anyone to be a believer. This is not possible. But for him, it would be nice if, through his faith and example, he would get some one to engage with God and find his way to Him.

Capuchin Administrator In Chile Isn’t Walking in the Steps of Padre Pio

The Capuchin Celestino Aos Braco, who has not served as Administrator of Santiago de Chile for four weeks, is denying Communion kneeling on the tongue to the faithful.

(Santiago de Chile) On March 23, Pope Francis appointed the Spanish Capuchin, Fr. Celestino Aos Braco, Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Santiago de Chile. At the Chrism Mass celebrated on April 18th with the priests of the diocese in the Cathedral Church of Santiago de Chile on April 18th, he refused the faithful, who knelt down to receive Communion, the very body of Christ.

According to Church law, priests, and more so the bishops, have a duty to exclude public sinners from Communion. If one follows the video of the Chrism Mass in Santiago de Chile, which was published by the archdiocese, then one would have to assume, that the Apostolic Administrator from the Capuchin Order had gifts like his brother, Saint Father Pio. But nothing is known yet.

But if Monsignor Aos Braco doesn’t have the ability to read souls, are the faithful who knelt down to receive Communion, publicly known sinners? And of all the publicly known sinners of Santiago de Chile, who are unlawfully going to Communion, are they kneeling for Communion? This detail is significant because the administrator only denied kneeling believers who presented themselves for Communion.

But still, such a knowledge of public sinners is unknown. Rather, they were pious believers who abide by the ecclesiastical rules, because they see in this act, they offer the necessary homage to the Blessed Sacrament of the altar.

The Apostolic Administrator of Santiago de Chile sees it very differently. Receiving Communion while kneeling on the tongue is obviously such a nuisance that he refused the believers - completely unlawfully - to receive communion.

The Capuchin Aos Braco was appointed by Pope Francis in 2014 as Bishop of the Chilean diocese of Copiapó. The Diocese has 220,000  Catholics and 25 priests, but 35 permanent deacons.

Last March, Pope Francis retired the former Primate of Chile, Ricardo Cardinal Ezzati, in connection with the sexual abuse scandal in the Latin American country surrounding the Karadima case.

Since the inauguration of Msgr. Aos Braco, the Archbishopric of Santiago de Chile has published only his Chrism Mass as a video, so that a comparison with the behavior of the administrator during Communion is not possible.

Obviously, what Alain Pronkin said in Le Journal de Montréal on April 18, 2016, confirms that Pope Francis chooses the "most progressive candidates" in his occupation of dioceses.

They are a nuisance to the doctrine and discipline of the Church, while they face various annoyances "mercifully".

Diocesan Cat Lady Solemnly Anathematizes Saint Benedict Center — Even Neo-Con Phil Lawler Isn’t Safe

Curia member of the Diocese of Manchester, USA indicate C.J Doyle and Phil Lawler in the diocese of Manchester, N.H are also not Catholic.

According to Mary  Ellen Mahon Cabinet Secretary for Catholic Formation and  Director of Pastoral Ministry, according to the diocese website, has stated that the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the St.Benedict Center,New Hampshire, can no longer be considered  Catholic.

It may be mentioned that according to Archbishop Augustine Di Noia , Adjunct Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith(CDF), Vatican the  "theological position regarding the principle Extra Ecclesiam Nullam [sic!] Salus" is unacceptable" for him since the Catechism of the Catholic Church n. 847 and 848 are exceptions. This has been posted on the diocese website.

847 This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:
Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.
848 "Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own, are ignorant of the Gospel, to that faith without which it is impossible to please him, the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelize all men."

Those saved in invincible ignorance refer to personally known non Catholics saved outside the Catholic Church, without faith and baptism(AG 7, LG 14) for the Secretaries of the CDF. So they become exceptions to the traditional strict interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS).If they were invisible and unknown they could not be exceptions.

This is irrational since there are no such cases in 2019.

In his Doctrinal reply in 2016 Brother Andre Marie MICM, Prior at the St. Benedict Center states that there are no personally known cases of people saved in invincible ignorance. They would only be known to God.
He meant possibilties are not real people in 2016.

So he accepts being saved in invincible ignorance as hypothetical. A  theoretical possibility but not a practical exception to EENS. This is common sense. There cannot be any literal case of someone saved outside the Church.

The popes and saints in over the centuries knew this when they referred to the baptism of desire, baptism of blood and being saved in invincible ignorance.
But the CDF Secretaries interpret Lumen Gentium  8 etc as being exceptions to EENS. LG 8 only refers to a hypothetical cases and not someone personally known. So the CDF is irrational.

So with this irrationality Archbishop Di Noia and the CDF Secretary, Archbishop Morandi, create a rupture with EENS, the past exclusive ecclesiology, an ecumenism of return and the Syllabus of Errors.Their doctrinal position is irrational, non traditional and heretical. Now they want Brother Andre Marie to also interpret Magisterial documents with this irrationality to be accepted legally as a Catholic.

C.J Doyle was interviewed recently by Michael Voris on the Vortex. He also affirms the strict interpretation of the dogma EENS. It is the same with Phil Lawler who teaches at the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts in New Hampshire. Legally they are not Catholics for the Diocese and the CDF.
Meanwhile Ellen Goodreau, Mary Ellen Mahon, Fr. Matthew Mason and others in the Curia interpret Vatican Council II and EENS assuming non existing people are objective examples of salvation outside the Church. So the dogma EENS as it was known to the Magisterium in the 16th century, is obsolete. They are legally Catholics. To be legal, Catholics have to use an  irrationality a traditional interpretation of Magisterial documents. This would be expected also of young
Catholics who have a vocation to the religious life.

Ms. Mary Ellen Mahon

[Her Grace, Mother Ellen Mahon] Diocese of Manchester Curia member says Slaves of Mary Immaculate Heart of Mary, at St.Benedict Center, N.H are 'no longer to be considered Catholic'

Edit: also, is Voris hedging his bets with this poor refutation of Father Feeney’s position?  It’s
hard to take Jim Russel seriously when he can’t get simple details about Father Feeney’s biography correct:
Long after his death in 1978, Fr. Leonard Feeney remains a polarizing and controversial figure. While Feeney appears to have always sought the full embrace of Catholic truth, he was outside the full embrace of the Catholic Church from 1953 to 1972, excommunicated for refusing to obey his religious and hierarchical superiors. Mercifully, Feeney was eventually reconciled to the Church, spending the last years of his life in full communion with the Church. [Without recanting what the Church has always taught. As he was invited by the local ordinary, Father Feeney recited the beautiful Athanasian Creed which I reproduce below as part of the reconciliation ceremony.]

The Quicumque

Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the Catholic Faith. Which Faith except everyone do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly. And the Catholic Faithis this, that we worship one God in Trinity and Trinity in Unity. Neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the Substance. For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Ghost is all One, the Glory Equal, the Majesty Co-Eternal. Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Ghost. The Father Uncreate, the Son Uncreate, and the Holy Ghost Uncreate. The Father Incomprehensible, the Son Incomprehensible, and the Holy Ghost Incomprehensible. The Father Eternal, the Son Eternal, and the Holy Ghost Eternal and yet they are not Three Eternals but One Eternal. As also there are not Three Uncreated, nor Three Incomprehensibles, but One Uncreated, and One Incomprehensible. So likewise the Father is Almighty, the Son Almighty, and the Holy Ghost Almighty. And yet they are not Three Almighties but One Almighty.
