ADL Calls the Shots in Vatican?

Edit: as if there were really any question. Real Catholicism is to be squelched and undermined at any cost.
[Tablet] On Thursday, a delegation from the Anti-Defamation League met with Pope Francis at the Vatican; ADL director Jonathan Greenblatt said the pope’s “moral voice is so needed today.” In a speech to the delegation at the Hall of Popes, Pope Francis, who has spoken out against anti-Semitism numerous times, and has visited Auschwitz, showed his respect for the ADL while denounced anti-Semitism in all its forms.
Here is a large chunk of Pope Francis’ powerful speech, which should be read in full:
Whereas the culture of encounter and reconciliation engenders life and gives rise to hope, the “non-culture” of hate sows death and reaps despair. Last year I visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. There are no adequate words or thoughts in the face of such horrors of cruelty and sin; there is prayer, that God may have mercy and that such tragedies may never happen again. To this end let us continue to help one another, as Pope John Paul II so desired, “to enable memory to play its necessary part in the process of shaping a future in which the unspeakable iniquity of the Shoah will never again be possible”: a future of genuine respect for the life and dignity of every people and every human being.

Steve Bannon Thinks Pope Francis is "Naive"

[German Section of Radio Vatican] US President Donald Trump will also meet the Pope during his visit to the G7 summit in Italy. This is what the Rome correspondent of the news site "Breitbart News" told  "Corriere della Sera". "Breitbart" had been headed by Steve Bannon until 2016, Trumps most important consultant. The past contact between Trump and the Pope was not a happy one, according to the correspondent Thomas Williams, a former member of the religious community "Legionaries of Christ".

There was a "certain mistrust" between the Pope and Bannon. Bannon considers the pope "naive in the subjects of emigration and radical Islam," said the Breitbart correspondent. He also reported on the contacts between the American Cardinal Raymond L. Burke and Bannon. Both are not friends because they have different styles: "Burke is methodical, Bannon is impetuous," says Williams.

When Trump was to appoint a new American ambassador to the Holy See, things were unclear. According to the journalist, there was a very pious man in the conversation whom he, Williams, advised. The new US ambassador to the Holy See, even if he was a Catholic, must articulate the position of President Trump.

Thomas Williams is married in Rome to the daughter of the former US Ambassador to the Holy See Mary Ann Glendon.

The G7 summit will take place on 26 and 27 May in Taormina (Sicily). A few days ago, the Vatican described speculation about a possible meeting between Trump and Pope Francis as "premature".

Vatican Investigating the Fake Edition of the 'Osservatore Romano'

Fake edition of the Vatican newspaper contained a alleged replies from Pope Francis to the writing of the four cardinals' dubia to "Amoris laetitia" and had been sent by anonymous mail to cardinals, bishops and clergymen.

Vatican City (kath.net/KAP)  After the spread of a fake, papal-critical edition of the Vatican newspaper "Osservatore Romano", the Vatican police has launched an investigation, as Italian media reported on Saturday. On Friday the daily Il Messaggero reported on the fake issue, which had been sent in the past days by anonymous e-mails to cardinals, bishops, other clergy and "honorable men".

On the masthead of the fake "Osservatore": is an article in which Pope Francis replies to the questions of four cardinals to his letter "Amoris laetitita" - not with a "yes" or "no" as requested but with the answer "Yes and no". The Cardinals had publicly expressed their doubts about "Amoris laetitia" in November and demanded more clarity in dealing with remarried divorced people.

The director of the real "Osservatore," Giovanni Maria Vian, described the Fake edition as a badly made "slander" by "bunglers". The graphic of the original Vatican is much more elegant, and the genuine "Osservatore" uses the "Latin of the Curia," instead of the philosophical-medieval language of counterfeiting. Vian suspects a "circle of lay people outside the Vatican" as the originators of the Fake newspaper.

The Vatican and the Italian police are also investigating another case of unusual, public criticism of the pope: a week ago, unknown individuals had hung up more than 200 papal-critical posters in several Roman districts. On them was the pope's dark facial expression. Under the photograph in Roman dialect it read: "Francis, you have placed Congregations under the direction of a Commissioner, dismissed priests, decapitated the Order of the Franciscans of the Immaculate and Malta, ignored cardinals, but where is your mercy?"

The text of the posters was clearly indicative of ecclesiastical events that had led to criticism of the pope in conservative circles; Such as the resignation of the Maltese Grand Master, Matthew Festing, at the urging of Francis and the doubts of the Cardinals on "Amoris laetitia", which were also the subject of the falsification of the "Osservatore."

According to the Italian media, Italian media suspect political rights and conservative Catholic circles who reject Francis' course of reform. Concrete references to the perpetrators are not yet known.

Bishop Egan: "Growing Problems" Because of Amoris Laetitia -- "Pray for the Church"

(London) While some Church representatives declare that everything is in order, others call for prayer because of "growing problems" because of Amoris laetitia .
The Archbishop Emeritus of Barcelona, Cardinal Sistach, declared a few days ago that everything was in order. The controversial post-synodal letter Amoris laetitia of Pope Francis was "clear" and "not ambiguous," which is why he could not understand why other Cardinals had Dubia (doubts).
The English bishop Philip Egan of Portsmouth is of a different opinion. He notes "growing problems" in the Church. The reason for this is Amoris laetitia . Because of the interpretation of this papal document, which accuses the critic of ambiguity in the decisive passages, there is growing disagreement and "discord" in the diocese and the parishes.
As Bishop Egan announced, the priesthood of his diocese raised the question of whether the priests should follow the pope or the bishop. Behind it lies the Interpretation-chaos (New York Times), which has split the church since the publication of Amoris laetitia . With reference to ecclesiastical marriage and the ordinance of the sacraments, Bishop Egan had declared that once again married divorced persons would be denied admission to the sacraments if they were not abstinent in the new union.
This interpretation of the pastoral guidelines is in open conflict with other bishops, decidedly calling for their new doctrine and practice on Amoris laetitia .
Because of the growing conflict in the Church, which has been created by Amoris laetitia , Bishop Egan has called upon the faithful to "pray for the Church" on Wednesday.
Literally, the bishop wrote after the meeting of the priests of his diocese:
"Council of Priests yesterday: Whom do we obey, the bishop or the pope? I'd say Both! But there's a growing problem: let's pray 4 the Church. "

Pope Francis: "There is Corruption in the Vatican, But I am at Peace"

Edit: this is from German RT. We don't recommend you go there, you'll be bombarded by popups.

[RT] In an informal discussion with the leaders of the largest Catholic monastic orders, the Pontifex expressed his opinion on the financial aspect of ecclesiastical life, writes the journal La Civilta Cattolica. Although his tone was joking, the statements sounded parable-like. So God wants "very much that monks are poor"... "If they are not, God sends an economist to break the (religious) institution," the Pope said.

He also called the monks "not to wash their hands in innocence". He admits that there are people in the Church, such as Pontius Pilate, who wash their hands in innocence in order to remain calm. The Pope said: "There is corruption in the Vatican, but I am calm, and when a problem arises, I write a note to Saint Joseph and put it under his statue, which is in my room. There is a statue of a sleeping Saint Joseph, now he sleeps on a mattress of notes, so I sleep well, that is the grace of God, my peace is a gift of God," said Francis.

Awesome Spoof Takes Vatican Curia by Storm

Edit: here's the story from some leftist whiners at Crux who are not amused.  Thanks to Oakes Spalding. It seems that someone is ramping up the psychological warfare. Isn't this so much more gratifying than finding fault with each other like a cult of Pentecostals?
Sometimes, the news does read like satire. Sometimes the satire is the news! And this is the best weapon at our disposal.
ROME- Barely a week after Rome woke up full of anti- Pope Francis posters, anonymous critics were back at it, sending a fake version of the Vatican’s official newspaper to cardinals and officials via email, claiming that the pontiff had answered five dubia, or questions, posed to him by four conservative cardinals about his document Amoris Laetita.
“He has answered!” reads the cover of the satirical edition of L’Osservatore Romano (LOR), the Vatican’s newspaper, which carries the date of Jan. 17.
“May your speech be yes yes no no,” reads the excerpt of the cover story, in reference to Matthew’s Gospel that says “But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.” (In Roman circles, Si Si No No is also familiar as the title of a small publication put out by the“St. Pius X Catholic Center for Anti-Modernist Studies,” expressing traditionalist criticism of post-Vatican II reforms.)

Cardinal Against Cardinal: Cardinal Marx Gives Cardinal Müller Stinkfinger at Press Conference?

Cardinal Marx's Stinkfinger
Edit: anyone who knows anything knows that Marx is evil and should be sent to Antarctica to live a lay monk's life.

(Rome) Yesterday, Pope Francis received an "ecumenical delegation", as it is called in the Italian
part of the official website of the Holy See, or a "delegation of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany", as it is called in the German part of the Internet site.

The fact is that the EKD delegation was accompanied by Cardinal Reinhard Marx, Archbishop of Munich-Freising and President of the German Bishops' Conference, which made the evangelical delegation evidently an "ecumenical"one in the eyes of some. Some really love the word "ecumenism".

At the subsequent press conference, Cardinal Marx also took a position on the "interpretation" of the German Bishops on the disputed post-synodal letter Amoris laetitia by Pope Francis. On 1 February, the German Bishops' Conference announced its guidelines for the implementation of Amoris laetitia. The bishops speak of a "renewed marriage and family pastoral in the light of Amoris laetitia." By "renewed" is meant specifically the particularly controversial chapter VIII. According to the DBK interpretation, newly married divorced persons are now admitted to the sacraments.

Cardinal Müller to German Bishops: "When the blind leads the blind"

On the same day another German bishop and cardinal, Prefect of the Congregation for the Congregation of the Faith, Gerhard Müller, spoke in an interview with the monthly magazine Il Timone, declaring that the reception of Communion was "impossible" for remarried and divorced couples. Without naming them by name, he described his German confreres among the Bishops  as "the blind who lead the blind." But it was not "the task of the bishops to create confusion." Cardinal Müller also said:

"For us marriage is the expression of participation in the unity between Christ the Bridegroom and His Bride to the Church. This is not a vague analogy, as some have said during the Synod. No! This is the substance of the sacrament, and no power in heaven and on earth, neither an angel, nor a pope, nor a council, nor a law of bishops, has the authority to change it."

Cardinal Müller instisted that "all those who talk too much,"  to "study" the Council, especially the Council of Trent, and the Magisterium of the Church.

Cardinal Marx: "I believe that unanimity prevailed"

To Cardinal Marx, however, such "recommendations" appear to be dismissed. He showed the stinkfinger at the press conference - probably quite unconsciously but conspicuously as an AFP photographer captured it in the above picture. Was he referring to Cardinal Müller or marriage and morals?

In any event, he stressed the fact that the new directives on the remarried divorced were "unanimously approved" by the German bishops. However, there are doubts about this.

The Press Agency Askanews reported on the press conference with Cardinal Marx:

To the journalist, who pointed out that a thousand priests say that the papal text is not clear, the Cardinal replied, "You can read Amoris laetitia, and I think that in our episcopal conference, unanimity prevailed, some bishops have asked questions, but I believe the position is clear, and the line of the pope is very clear. I was a member of two synods, and the discussions between the synods, and the discussions in the Synod, and then I read Amoris laetitia and said: This is absolutely clear. I can not understand why the answer is not clear."

The Press Agency SIR of the Italian Bishops' Conference gave the same statement by Cardinal Marx:

"I think there was unanimity in our bishop's conference. Some bishops have asked questions, but I believe that the pope's position and line are very clear. I do not understand why, according to some, the answer is not clear. "

According to different statements, neither unanimity nor consensus prevailed in the German Bishops' Conference. The unusual formulation of Cardinal Marx, that he "believes" that "unanimity" prevails,  indicates this. At least six bishops are said to have rejected the new directives, especially the interpretation of the VIII chapter of Amoris laetitia.

This raises the question whether Cardinal Marx's statement that the Bishops' Conference had adopted the directives unanimously or even unanimously, agreed with the facts. Or is it attempted, for the first time, that the bishops' conference, which has no jurisdiction, should be replaced by the bishops who are individually responsible? These are questions that ask for clarification.

Archdiocese Doesn't Like Father Peter West's Political Views

Sometimes you just have to say enough is enough. This is the case with Father Peter West, a priest in the Archdiocese of Newark, who is being pillared in the media for his conservative beliefs he shares on his social media accounts. In the age of “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” one should not be surprised that the social progressives and leftists would so easily get their feelings hurt but this witch-hunt is a different situation altogether.
A reporter by the name of Mark Mueller for NJ.com decided to be the arbitrator of what political views a Priest can and cannot express to people on his Facebook and Twitter pages and penned a story that characterized Father West as an “internet flamethrower.” This is tantamount to the thought police controlling the nature of discourse in our society. How dare Father West think differently than the progressives in the Roman Catholic Church who have put on par the killing of unborn children with climate change and immigration policy? How dare Father West offend the liberal orthodoxy that Mr. Mueller and his fellow liberals in the media hold so dear?
What is even more troublesome is that it appears the Archdiocese of Newark is going to look into ways to clamp down on Father West to stop his freedom of speech. Diocesan spokesperson Jim Goodness said, “[W]e are concerned about Father West’s comments and actions, and will be addressing them according to the protocols of the Church.” This is disturbing because of the clear political tone his new boss Cardinal Tobin and others have taken against Trump and his supporters.

Antonio Spadaro SJ Tweets: 2 + 2 Can Make 5 -- Because Real Life

Antonio Spadaro SJ, head of the Roman Jesuit publication La Civiltà Cattolica and close pope confidant, tweeted on 6 January 2017, Rome, Lazio.

Father Spadaro was part of the editorial committee for the final report of the Synod of Bishops on the family and for the controversial post-synodal Letter Amoris laetitia in 2015. He is one of the most active advocates of the redefinition of the marriage sacrament, with which he zealously strives to ensure that 2 + 2 in real life is no longer 4. Spadaro does not, therefore, do a good service to mathematics or theology, or to logic and reason, and thus not to the "real life" of man.

There are Almost 50,000 Victims of Genital Mutilation in Germany

Edit: this was reported by Richard Dorn at Nurk Eine Kreuzmappe the other day who is worried, he jokes, that he will be accused of being culturally insensitive for pointing out what most of the media ignores, so he cites stories where the issue is discussed by the media. He's shocked that this fact isn't given more attention, it's only small wonder why.

Genital mutilation: Almost 50,000 victims in Germany

In Germany there are an estimated 47,300 victims of female genital mutilation. This can be seen in the first study on the national spread of this phenomenon, which the Federal Ministry of Families has presented today. Today, 6th February, is a day of action for the United Nations and numerous relief organizations against its practice spread mainly in Africa and on the Arabian Peninsula, but also in Indonesia in Southeast Asia.

In the case of mutilation, girls under five years are often circumcised of their external genitalia. The clitoris as well as the labia are amputated and partly sewn. Millions of women are experiencing severe complications and trauma during sexual intercourse and later. While the circumcision of boys better hygienic possibilities and disease prevention is argued, but there are no medical arguments for the genital mutilation of girls.

According to the study, the number of affected women and girls in Germany rose by just under 30 percent between the end of 2014 and the middle of 2016 as a result of immigration from countries where this cruel tradition is practiced. "Female genital mutilation is a serious violation of human rights. It causes incalculable physical agony and mental distress," said the State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Ralf Kleindiek.

According to the study, between 1,558 and 5,684 daughters of migrants are threatened with genital mutilation. According to German law, this torture is also punishable if committed abroad. In order to prevent parents from subjecting their daughters to "holiday circumcision" in the home country, the Federal Government had decided in December 2016 to amend the Passport. In the future, people who wish to travel abroad for a genital mutilation with a girl or a woman can be removed from their passport.

Progress has been made in the global struggle against female genital mutilation. Regions and village communities with a total of 8.5 million people publicly committed themselves last year to stop the cruel practice, the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) today reported in Geneva.

According to estimates, 200 million women worldwide are genitally mutilated. Half of them live in Egypt, Ethiopia and Indonesia. In Somalia, Guinea and Djibouti, more than 90 per cent of women are affected. UNFPA stresses that the mutilation is partly a religious prescription. But there is no basis for this. The practice is partly a thousand years old. Often, older women insist on maintaining the tradition. The UN wants to stop the practice completely by 2030.

More and more African countries have supported face finding campaigns, said Adebisi Adebayo from the Inter-African Committee on Traditional Practices. Since 2008, according to UNFPA data, 13 countries have been subjected to genital mutilation. Last year, four other African countries provided money for education in the national budget. The World Health Organization (WHO) puts pressure on physicians who do not report cases of a genital mutilation. Some perform them to prevent girls from being circumcised under unsanitary conditions, said Christina Pallitto of the WHO. However, the practice violates all medical ethics. (Ke)

Is Pope Bergoglio Engaging in Some Origenism?

Edit: this morning, Pope Bergoglio revealed himself again with more flaccidity, arid 60s Palagianism,  contempt for religion, coupled with what looks like some Origenism, reconciling the villain, the Devil, perhaps? All we hear is that we shouldn't be "rigid" and to ignore the Commandments or something. These talks are a far Cry from the precise and powerful explications of Benedict XVI.

Here's part of the talk as it was reported by Radio Vatican:
Open your heart, do not take refuge in the rigidity of the Commandments
Why then did God create the world? “Simply to share His fullness,” Francis said. “To have someone to whom [to give] and with whom to share His fullness.” In the re-creation, God sends His Son to “set things right” – to make “the ugly one handsome, of the mistake a true [cast], of the villain a good guy”:
“When Jesus says: ‘The Father is always at work: I, too, am always at work,’ the teachers of the law were scandalized and wanted to kill him for this. Why? Because they could not receive the things of God as a gift! Only as Justice: ‘These are the Commandments: but they are few, let’s make more. And instead of opening their heart to the gift, they hid, have sought refuge in the rigidity of the Commandments, which they had multiplied up to 500 or more ... They did not know how to receive the gift – and the gift is only received with freedom – and these rigid characters were afraid of the freedom that God gives us: they were afraid of love.”

Lutheran Bishop Thinks Pope Bergoglio is a Hidden Protestant

Bizarre message from Protestantism by the Protestant bishop of Hamburg

(kath.net) For Hamburg's evangelical bishop, Kirsten Fehr, Pope Francis is a "hidden Protestant". Fehrs ventured this at the "Long Night of World Religions" at the Hamburg Thalia Theater, as evangelisch.de reports.

"He seems to me a hidden Protestant." The reason for this bold statement is evidently the letter "Amoris laetitia" and the interpretation of some bishops who believe that remarried divorced Catholics now only have to appeal to their consciences to receive the Holy Eucharist.

Crashed Ice: Minnesota Archbishop Continues Sacrilegious Use of Cathedral

Lord Have Mercy!

Edit: this year Crashed Ice, featured by same-sex promoting Red Bull, is back again. The venue isn't AS appealing and sacrilegious, but it is. For those of you who don't know, "Crashed Ice" involves the Archbishop's prostituting of the Cathedral for a winter sporting event where eager competitors careen down a ramp that leads from the top of the St. Paul Cathedral steps down the hill and into downtown Saint Paul for amazing cash prizes and the adulation of thousands of fans on TV and live.

We understand that the powers and principalities who rule this Archdiocese have to take care of paying large salaries to diocesan pay staff, despite the huge subsidies they receive for being a warden of the welfare state, cush retirments, trips to Thailand, and other things like that, but is it really worth it when there is serious damage to the Catholic brand by appealing to satanic corporations and vulgar sports fans, that actually work against the  primary Catholic message?  How many people are actually persuaded by these boondoggles, we wonder?

Last year we made a big deal about this and generated some sissies on the blog commenting who made mostly pointless objections and idle threats to our concerns. Catholic education has always been very poor in Minnesota, and it only shows, that when a lot of these concerned citizens chime in, they have nothing but emotions and half-baked sentiments with which to reply.

This year the ramp has been moved further down from the cathedral door, which now you can see, but the ramp comes down from the top of the steps. It's like they realized how crappy it looked last year and made some adjustments.  Also, the crowd is only projected at 100,000, which is down 20 from last year's estimated 120,000.

At any rate, this is still an appalling bad show on the part of the stewards of our Catholic Faith in this Archdiocese.  Some of the readers will ask, "are you surprised?" No, not after witnessing years and years of their negligence and neglect.  What would be shocking is if there were ever an orthodox clergy, with an orthodox Archbishop. Have we ever had one?

We'll conclude this discussion with:

Can. 1210 In a sacred place only those things are to be permitted which serve to exercise or promote worship, piety and religion. Anything out of harmony with the holiness of the place is forbidden. The Ordinary may however, for individual cases, permit other uses, provided they are not contrary to the sacred character of the place.

Posters Appear in Rome Denouncing Pope Bergoglio's Modernist Autocracy

Edit: here's a brief edited google translation of Marco Tossatti's report:

[Marco Tosatti] In Rome every now and again there appear posters without permission on the walls; ie posters that do not follow the regular procedure for the City. A modern and updated version of the bills that the Romans unhappily hung at Pasquino, the mutilated statue at Piazza Navona, to protest against injustices and to express their displeasure.

The last case of putting up posters - irregular - and mocking,  concerned the Minister of Education, Valeria Fedeli, a few months ago. But that the walls of Rome are now covered up with dozens of posters against the Pontiff is certainly a big news.

It happened today, and the news broke broke at ADN Kronos in these terms:

"There appeared dozens of posters this morning throughout Rome, hung on the walls of the city, of protest against Pope Francis and his work. The picture across the board shows the image of the pontiff which is particularly darkened and frowning. Below, on the bottom in purple, written with Romansh font: 'In Francis, you police congregations, removed priests, decapitated the Order of Malta and the Franciscans of the Immaculate, ignored Cardinals ...  is this your mercy? ' . The poster is anonymous, does not report acronyms or symbols, but is easily attributable to the conservative circles who increasingly expressed their opposition to the Magisterium, measures and the pontifical line of  Pope Bergoglio. "

Traditional Friendly Archbishop Dismissed in Filippines

Archbishop Ramon Cabrera Arguelles of Lipa was prematurely retired from his office yesteday, clearly because of his position on a non-approved "Marian Apparition"

(Manila) Pope Francis received the resignation yesterday of Archbishop Ramon Cabrera Argüelles of Lipa in the Philippines as it is revealed in the daily bulletin of the Vatican. At the same time, he appointed a successor, the Monsignor Gilbert Garcera, whom he transferred from the bishop's seat from Daet to Lipa.
The retirement of Archbishop Argüelles took place prematurely. The Archbishop is only 72 years old. The reference to Canon 401.2 does not provide any information as to whether he has resigned due to health problems or because of serious misconduct. A corresponding clarification of the Code of Canon Law has been suggested several times in recent years.

A Non-Approved "Marian Apparition" of Lipa

Archbishop Ramon Argüelles gained international fame in the past when, in 2015, he declared the authenticity of Lipa's alleged Marian credentials as "believable" and announced that he was convinced of the "supernatural" nature of the phenomenon.

The Archbishop, with a Marienstatue, who was supposed to haveappeared  in 1948 to the Carmelite, Teresita Castillo.

Already in 2009, the Archbishop had abrogated the negative judgment of a commission of bishops. At the beginning of the 1950s several Philippine bishops had been charged with the study of the phenomenon. On 11 April 1951, the Commission concluded that the alleged phenomena were "not of a supernatural origin". A decision which had been approbated by Pope Pius XII.
On August 18, 1948 in the Carmelite convent of Lipa the novice Teresita Castillo was supposed to have received an apparition of the Mother of God. According to Teresita, there were a total of 19 "apparitions" in which the monastic garden was showered with rose petals from the sky, each bearing sacred images. The images on the rose petals, which are kept in Lipa, were the Jesus Child, St. Joseph, the blessing Jesus, the Holy Family, the Holy Spirit, the Crucified, the Last Supper and other motifs were to be seen. In the last apparition, Mary had presented herself as the "Mediator of all Graces".

Phenomena only "feigned" -- bishop who believes in authenticity, dismissed

The then Bishop of Lipa, Monsignor Alfredo Verzosa y Florentin, was convinced of the authenticity after having been shown a desired miracle. Rome, however, was skeptical and established a theological commission, which in 1949 made a negative judgment. The phenomenon of Lipa is only "feigned" by Teresita and was nevertheless "supported" by the prioress.
Bishop Verzosa was deposed from Rome. The Apostolic Administrator, who was, among several other  Filipino bishops under the commission established by Pius XII,, also came to a negative conclusion.

Bishop Verzosa, behind him the Superior, on the left stand Teresita Castillo (Lipa 1948)

However, the fact that there were conversions and healings in Lipa was interpreted by the Commission with the awakened expectations that people were open for God's work.
Bishop Verzosa was prematurely made emeritus, while his auxiliary bishop, the prioress and the subprioress of the monastery were transferred. The statue of the "appeared" could no longer be shown publicly. The Carmelite convent was dissolved, but the monastery later resettled.

Recognition by the Archbishop -- Intervention of Rome

The pilgrim's stream to Lipa did not abate despite the prohibitions but increased over the years. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the "apparitions," Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the then Philippine President of the Republic had also pilgrimaged to Lipa.
The diocese of Lipa was raised to an archdiocese in 1972. Archbishop Mariano Gaviola, the predecessor of Monsignor Argüelles, reopened the public exhibition of the statue in 1992 and initiated new investigations into the phenomenon. This led Archbishop Argüelles to annul the negative verdict of 1951. In 2013 the beatification procedure for Bishop Verzosa was initiated. In 2015, Archbishop Argüelles declared the phenomenon to be "credible" and "supernatural".
In the same year, however, the Roman Congregation for Congregation intervened and declared on 15 September 2015 the decision of the Archbishop "null and void". The decision of 1951 was definitive. The Archbishop was no longer empowered. The corresponding Roman document was handed over to the Archbishop on May 30, On 16 November 2016 the Carmelite and "Seer" Teresita Castillo died at the age of 89 years. Yesterday, Archbishop Ramon Cabrera Arguelles was made emeritus.

[Update] Franciscans of the Immaculata

Archbishop Arguelles, who in the wake of the motu proprio Summorum Pontificum celebrated in the traditional form of the Roman Rite was still "negatively" apprized in another part in Rome. In July 2013, the traditional young order, Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate was placed under the provisional administration of the Congregation of Religious with the approval of Pope Francis. One reason for this compulsion has not been mentioned to this day. Because of the direct attack against the religious charism, tradition and the traditional Rite, members of the Order tried to find ways out of the constraint. What was contemplated, among other things, was the new foundation as an old ritual Order, which would no longer be subordinated to the Congregation of Religious, but the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei . The Vatican, however, refused and forbade any to leave the Order.
A total of six priests of the Order were also suspended in the Philippines because they tried to reestablish the Order. On June 28, 2014 in the Archdiocese of Lipa, the recognition of a public association of the faithful had taken place, as then Riposte Catholique reported. The recognition was thought of as a precursor to a new foundation test of maltreated Order of Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate . Accordingly, the Apostolic Commissioner, Fr. Fidenzio Volpi, reacted sharply, suspending the priests involved in the Order. When the matter became public, the commissioner made a public statement that spoke in a mocking tone of "ultra-traditionalist" circles, but only vaguely about the alleged "misconduct" of the priests which would justify their suspension.
Archbishop Arguelles offered the five Philippine Franciscans of the Immaculate, who had been suspended, a celebret in his archdiocese. He was by no means popular in certain Roman circles. Shortly after the incident in the Philippines Commissioner Volpi threatened Italian bishops,  if they should dare to establish Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate in their dioceses. At the same time, the Commissioner asserted in all seriousness that the Franciscans of the Immaculate wanted to "overthrow" Pope Francis.
The premature end of his term of office is seen in the Philippines in the context of his attitude to the events of Lipa. A connection with the Franciscans of the Immaculate is not excluded. The Archbishop had not been popular in Rome.
According to reports from Messa in Latino, Archbishop Arguelles learned from the Internet of his dismissal. There would be no question of a resignation which the pope had "accepted."  In Daily Bulletin there is an official version that says nothing about the background. Archbishop Arguelles would thus feel the "merciful" arm of Pope Francis get as Bishop Rogelio Livieres of Ciudad del Este in Paraguay experienced it. Under a pretext, Msgr. Livieres had been lured to Rome, where Pope Francis let him stand in front of closed doors, while at home the locks of the bishop's residence were changed. In spite of the bishop's insistence, Francis refused to listen to the bishop who had been deposed. Bishop Livieres was neither given "dialogue" nor "mercy". The "guilt" of Bishop Livieres was that he was too traditional and had succeeded with his priestly seminary, which had almost three times as many seminarians as all the other dioceses of the country together. He had become the "trouble maker" in a   bishop's conference riddled indifferentism and liberation theology.
There is also a shadow over the retirement of Archbishop Argüelles.

Condom Knight Boeselager Triumphs Over Good With Pope's Help

Edit: the Order of Malta's condom distributing Grand Chancellor, Albrecht Boeselager, has given a public address wherein he avoids any explanations of the totals capitulation of the Order's sovereignty and praises Pope Bergoglio's autocratic takeover. If you listen to this public sinner's address, he offers no contrition for distributing condoms, and even expresses his own disapproval of the increasing border security in the face of Islamic invasion. Unlike his predecessors, he is surely a friend of Islam, and an enemy of Christ.

He virtue signals thusly:

We are alarmed and concerned by the proliferation of discriminatory positions towards immigrants, not least, based on their national origin. History has already provided us with plenty of examples showing the dramatic and monstrous consequences of policies based on origin and race. Likewise, the Government takes a strong stance against the increasing disregard for the humanitarian laws encoded in the Geneva Conventions ratified by the family of nations.

Suspension "A Divinis" of the "First Martyr of Amoris Laetitia" Lifted

Supsension Against Don Uribe Lifted.  Did Bishop Corredor do this after reading Cardinal Schönborn's heretical interpretation?
(Bogota) Don Luis Carlos Uribe Medina, the priest of the Colombian diocese of Pereira, was reinstated by the bishop in his office. Don Uribe has become the "first martyr of Amoris laetitia."
Because of his criticism of Amoris laetitia and his pastoral implementation was characterized as an attack against the indissolubility of sacramental marriage the priest had been treated by his bishop as a heretic and schismatic. He had "apparently" had detached himself from "communion with the Pope", so he was suspended by his bishop a divinis suspended .
Don Uribe's suspension from the priesthood attracted worldwide attention because he had not committed any fault, except to defend the past [and immemorial] doctrine and practice of the Catholic Church.

Don Uribe statement

The sensation seems to have produced an effect. On January 31, Bishop Rigoberto Corredor Bermudez, diocesan bishop of Pereira, reinstated Don Uribe in his priestly power. For this, the Bishop and Don Uribe signed a joint statement. Therein it is explained that Don Uribe, after a "fraternal conversation" with the bishop, has declared of his "free will" that he would "remain obedient and respectful towards the Holy Father Francis and my diocesan bishop in the Apostolic teaching and tradition of the Church."
With "permission of my diocesan bishop, I resume my priestly service from today, January 31, 2017".
An image of the original document signed by Don Uribe and Bishop Corredor about reintegration into the diocesan clergy was published by Secretum meum mihi with the explanation that Don Uribe finally confirmed only what he had said anyway.
As Radio Rosa Mistica Colombia reported, Bishop Corredor had corrected his penalty after he had come to a full understanding of Don Uribe's statements. Specifically, the radio station, points to the Amoris-laetitia -Interpretation of Cardinal Christoph Schönborn of 8 April 2016. Pope Francis had a few days later referred to "the Schönborn-statements as the authentic interpretation" of the controversial post-synodal letter.
Don Uribe had criticized and rejected Schönborn's interpretation. He also criticized Pope Francis, because the latter had described Schönborn interpretation as "authentic" and thus made his own.
After Bishop Corredor had read the Schönborn-text, he had changed his mind about Don Uribe and withdrew the sanction, says Radio Maria Mistica Colombia. The station cites its own source which remains unnamed.

Cardinal Müller Speaks to the Dubia!

[Chiesa] To him too, in addition to Pope Francis, cardinals Brandmüller, Burke, Caffarra, and Meisner had sent their five “dubia” on the interpretation of “Amoris Laetitia,” seeking “clarity.”
And neither he, Cardinal Gerhard L. Müller, prefect of the congregation for the doctrine of the faith, nor much less the pope had responded until now to the questions of the four cardinals.
To make up for this, however, now Müller is bringing clarity, and how, in an extensive interview that is coming out today in the magazine “Il Timone,” conducted by editor Riccardo Cascioli and by Lorenzo Bertocchi:
In the interview, the cardinal does not use the word “dubia,” but he says “apertis verbis” precisely what the four cardinals were asking to have clarified.
And he does not fail to lash out against those bishops who with their interpretive “sophistries” - he says - instead of acting as leaders for their faithful are falling “into the risk of the blind leading the blind.”
Here are the key passages of the interview.

New Archbishop of Kraków Celebrates Installment Pontifical High Mass Ad Orientem

(Warsaw) The new Archbishop of Krakow, Monsignor Marek Jedraszewski , celebrated the Pontifical Mass for his official installation.

Archbishop Jedraszewski was appointed in 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI. as the Archbishop of Lodz. Prior to that, he had been auxiliary bishop of Poznań since 1997. After the retirement of Stanislav Cardinal Dziwisz on 8 December 2016 for reasons of age, Pope Francis appointed Jedraszewski as  the 5th Archbishop and 78th Bishop of Krakow. Karol Wojtyla, the later Pope John Paul II, was 2nd Archbishop and 75th Bishop of Krakow. In 1925 Krakow was elevated to an archdiocese. The Church province covers the area of Little Poland.

Last Saturday, 28 January, the new Archbishop's enthronement took place. He is considered a candidate for Cardinal dignity. Since the end of the nineteenth century, all the senior shepherds had belonged to the Cardinal's collegium. Five cardinals, numerous bishops, the clergy and faithful of the Archdiocese  took part in the solemn ceremony in the Wawel Cathedral. President Andrzej Duda also came to Krakow with his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda.

Archbishop Jedraszewski celebrated the Solemn Pontifical Mass ad orientem, as was the case in the church celebration until the liturgical form of 1965. Cardinal Robert Sarah, the Prefect of the Roman Congregation for Divine Worship and the Order of the Sacraments, called on all priests worldwide to return to the Eucharistic direction of ad Deum and to abandon the Protestant celebration in facing the people.

Traitor Archbishop Campaigns for Open Borders

Edit: when he's not offending Christ by praising the heretic Martin Luther, this man is betraying his country, canvassing more for the good of his own political power and support for his charity boondoggles, than he is for the spiritual good of his flock.. He has the same ideological alignment as the Pope, Cardinal Schönborn, Cardinal Marx...

Faith leaders from around Minnesota, including Archbishop Bernard Hebda, voiced concerns Jan. 30 about President Donald Trump’s recent ban on immigration from seven different countries.

[Catholic Spirit] Trump [That's God Emperor to you.] signed an executive order called “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry in to the United States” Jan. 27. It included a ban on immigrants from Yemen, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Iran and Sudan due to perceived security threats by the U.S. government.
Archbishop Hebda joined 11 other Christian, Jewish and Muslim faith leaders at the Jan. 30 press conference to call for lifting the ban. Speaking at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis, the leaders said that God calls all nations to welcome refugees and immigrants.

Priest Tells Parishoners Who Oppose Trump to Take a Leap

Edit: please don't resign! Sensitive snowflakes are asking for him to.

I initially thought this was the other way around.
[Washington Post] The pastor of a largely immigrant Catholic church in Queens has a suggestion for his anti-Trump parishioners: Go take a flying leap off the nearest building.
“Show your hate for Trump. Do it for social justice. #JumpAgainstTrump,” read a meme posted by the Rev. Philip Pizzo just hours after he celebrated Sunday Mass.
The message included an illustration of a man plummeting from a skyscraper.
