Former SOLT Seminary Rector Found Guilty

Edit: the Diocese and SOLT are being forced to pay $946,000 ., for the sexual assault of a boy at gunpoint by one of SOLT's former seminary rectors.  It makes sense to put this in the context of SOLT's story about Father Corapi and the alleged irregularities of his life.

“John Fiala is not a puppet,” said prosecutor Brandon Birmingham. “He is a puppeteer.”

Fiala was arrested September 2010 in Lawrence, Kan., and extradited to Edwards County, Texas, on four counts of sex crimes against children. The indictment in Edwards County is still pending.

From August 1998 until mid 2001, Fiala served as spiritual director to the SOLT (Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity) community, which maintains a religious house in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph. He did not have a parish assignment in the diocese.

Fiala was an associate pastor at St. Joseph Parish in Shawnee from Aug. 31, 2001, to January 2002. He helped at a parish in Holton, Kan., from January to April 2002, according to the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.

Father Corapi

Edit: because Gerard at Fisheaters says it best.

Which actions are you talking about? The legal actions he took concerning his fate? Or are you referring to the rumors and gossip floating around that he denies and no one has actually provided proof of? It's amazing to me how many people have decided to take those accusations as Gospel truth purely on faith and then complain and whine bitterly when someone isn't so rash or gullible.

I'm sorry, if I don't suddenly act all pious regarding a small religious order that's been depending on him financially for years and when he's inconvenient because of his preaching, they conveniently want him to reimburse them for the payoff for his murder-minded catamite confrere.

People wonder why he didn't want to live in community with homicidal homosexuals? Don't let that get in the way of anyone's character assassination. It's amazing how alleged "trads" become as emotionally stupid and illogical as the most foolish of neo-Catholics when they decide they want to pile on the ruination of someone's name. It's as evil as anything I've witnessed. The proof of the diabolic aspect is the fact that BECAUSE I don't pile on and tow the line, then I'm the one who is attacked next.

Some people think Corapi is innocent. Some people don't know and suspend judgement. Some people are sure he's guilty and gleeful and everyone had better tow the line on that, for no other reason than you are being a buzzkill for their figurative bloodlust.

Father Corapi's Recent Statement

A Note in Response to Mudslingers on Father Corapi's Military Service

Muckraker

Edit  GMT 0.105 June 22, A lot of interest in Father Corapi's military records, again since Mark Shea, a non-soldier if I've ever seen one, has decided to continue his dark Crusade.   First, bear in mind that military records are notoriously inaccurate and that a lot can happen, especially given the irregular nature of Special Forces units in general.  Father Corapi may have also served on a B-Team [which doesn't require the intensive training of A-Team members] and trained at an SF Training unit which was actually at Fort Knox during the time he was assigned there as an Infantryman.  It may be possible to belong to a B-Team without having jump wings and it's also understood that you can move up to advanced  parachute training, and the like, later on.

I'll also point out that I'm confident that most of the people commenting are rear-echelon, non-serving, failed mainstream journalist types who have no special knowledge of the Special Forces or the historical time period being discussed, the height of the Vietnam War just before Tet, when the demand for men and material was high.

Linked from here on the blog, the Post initially made with some comments, here

Ht to the Pewsitter who infrequently links to us, here

Just a personal anecdote, a dear departed friend of mine was in a Special Forces unit "deployed" to Cambodia.  He didn't talk much about his experiences there, save only to offer vague anecdotes related to our wargaming.  He was a Medic by training, but there was no indication on his DD form that he was anything but a Paratrooper.  His DD form described a 003 designation and that  was It, no unit of assignment or even Fort Bragg, whether he was a B-Team guy or not I don't know, but he got to clear the scum off the water of a river to get some water out when he drank it, and talked about their unit's pet rat.

Catholic Vultures Circling and Waiting for a Meal

One articulate poster suggested that there was a monetary scheme behind the orchestration in this Kangaroo Court of Soviet Blogpinion in its attack on Father Corapi. Not surprisingly, the Anglespleen forum, self-righteous as always, loves to attack people, innocent people, dead people who can't defend themselves and so on, but in fact, most of the posters there are brutalized moral insects who try to savage people's reputations just for fun. How do others live with themselves, despite the high opinion they have of themselves, chattering like Harper Valley volunteers over the fence? It doesn't matter that Bishop Gracida stepped in to defend Father Corapi. Unmoved, the voracious army of blogtacular incendiaries moved on, irrespective of details, good sense and love. Is it all about the Benjamins? I was just following orders, eh?

It seemed like a good idea to formulate an enemies list:

It was the Eighties, I did what I had to do, you know, at least I'm not the Cankeress.

As bad as that was, at least I didn't abandon all good sense like Mark Sashay did and defend Cardinal Schonborn.

Then there are priest bloggers too. I know, let's make that good old appeal to people's egalitarianism and attempt to shame his defenders by accusing them of being the subject of a "cult of personality"? What's that all about and the Herpetologist of County Claire

Let us not forget the Deacon's Stench.

This list isn't finished. It will probably include Patrick Madrid, but hey, he's no big whoop.

Before you get indignant as you make off with your pieces of silver, or the sense of righteousness you feel at kicking someone around who you think is inferior to you, think about the cost of priests being falsely accused and what happens to them. Carol McKinley seems to be the only one who's thinking about that.

Let the Crow Eating Begin: Bishop Defends the Great Corapi

I do not know thee, depart from me...

Editor: A lot of people have been drawn in to the abuse craze and the abuse-hoax here by working wittingly or otherwise to perpetuate and substantiate stupidity of these uncanonical and therefore unjust zero tolerance polices. All you need is an accusation to suspend someone. So, some anonymous person makes a phone call, and all of a sudden, boom, Father McBrien is out of a job teaching at Notre Dame? Well, I'm sure that if Father McBrien were accused of abuse, the application of the procedure would be very different.

This whole thing is dishonest and people shouldn't be surprised when the special pleading the Bishops have been engaging in for the last forty-plus years comes back to haunt them.

Don't mean to pick too much on Mark Shea. He still thinks Father Corapi violated his vows, but at least he apologized. His vitriol has been pretty typical of a lot of people who should know better, like here. Anyhow, some people are going to eat their crow for being unreasonable and others aren't.

And speaking of dishonesty, "Catholic" Online can't even get the story straight. Father Corapi isn't leaving the Church. Last time we checked, Catholic Online was stealing an artist's work and not crediting them with it.

Here's a great response to clear up some of the "hoo-ha" in this "kerfluffle":

Great Pyrenees Sheep Dog Guarding the Flock

FIRST OF ALL LET ME ESTABLISH THAT I HAVE NOT SPOKEN WITH FATHER CORAPI.
The fact that he has chosen the nom de plume of The Black Sheep Dog is revealing:  he cares for the flock of sheep he has been ministering to all these years, sheep that he well knows are of the Lord’s flock, not his.
As a suspended priest he cannot function publicly as a priest, but he can continue to evangelize as long as he does not present himself to the public as a priest.
Every baptized person is given the obligation of being a witness to the truth, of being an evangelizer.  In Father Corapi’s case, the obligation is all the greater in view of the gift of the sacramental priesthood he has been given.  Prevented (hopefully only temporarily) from exercising that priesthood in a public manner during his suspension, he is aware of his obligation to be a witness to the truth and to continue to evangelize.  He evidently intends to do so until his suspension is lifted not as Father John Corapi but as The Black Sheep Dog.

Corapi Announcement Forthcoming this Weekend.

Bon Appetit

Editor: Of course it's going to confirm what we've been saying all along. Still, we're not going to demur from pointing out that there were people who weren't willing to innocent till proven guilty on Father Corapi and give more credibility to the accusations than they deserved. Yes, a vindictive woman, imagine that, wanted to ruin Father Corapi's career and after that there was quite an outpouring of dreck assaulting his character from some of the less virile, less orthodox areas of the blogospear, and media complex, insinuations from certain quarters we're not going to forget: the network gone wrong, deacon's stench, the cankerous and crabby roads.

A Canonist Speaks in Father Corapi's Defense

Editor: We were right about Father Corapi. This railroading going on is what's happened to many a loyal, orthodox priest over the last fifty years. Turns out that his loyal "fan club" also had a certain genius of the laity about him. It is also apparent as of the writing of the explanation by Father Michael Sullivan JCL, that the network gone wrong, can probably line up for some serious crow since they weren't actually required to remove Father Corapi's broadcasts based on an as yet unsubstantiated denunciation, and have put the protestant Billy Graham on in his place.

As mentioned below, Father Corapi was not treated fairly according to the canon law.

Father Corapi on Administrative Leave - An Update from Rev. Michael Sullivan, J.C.L.

Fr. John Corapi has been suspended from priestly functions because of an accusation against him from a former employee. There seems to be a great deal of speculation and confusion regarding what this entails.

When an accusation arrives at the desk of a Religious Superior or a bishop, the procedure calls for a quick, confidential assessment as to the veracity of the accusation. With the advent of the Dallas Procedural Norms the necessary pieces of information required before imposing administrative leave varies from diocese to diocese and Order to Order. In most cases, if an accuser knows the name of the priest, the location at the time of the alleged incident and the year the priest was serving, the accusation is considered “credible.” The accused is supposed to be provided with the opportunity to respond to the accusations in a face-to-face meeting with his Superior prior to the imposition of suspension or administrative leave. In Father Corapi’s case, this never happened.

When a priest is on administrative leave he is to refrain from any public actions as a priest, such as offering Mass or hearing confessions, or from dressing as a priest in any public forum. The decree from his superiors clearly spells out limitations upon Fr. Corapi, but does not preclude him from speaking publicly provided he does not dress as a cleric and does not offer Mass publicly. Fr. John Corapi has observed these directives. Church bodies are to observe these limitations, though the order does not apply to lay organizations or Church organizations beyond the scope of what has been decreed.

Several Catholic media sources have removed Fr. Corapi from their outlets. This is over and above what is required by canon law and the Dallas Norms. Nothing in the order placing Father Corapi on administrative leave precludes distribution of previously recorded materials. Santa Cruz Media is in full compliance with Canon Law and the administrative leave under which Fr. Corapi is functioning.

Fr. Corapi is doing all in his power to cooperate and work with his Religious Society to see that this allegation is quickly cleared up and he is allowed to return to full ministry. The length of this administrative leave is strictly up to the Society and their process of inquiry before a decision is rendered.

We continue to ask everyone to pray for Fr. Corapi, for the accuser and for a quick resolution to this matter.

God bless you,

Rev. Michael Sullivan, J.C.L.

Father Corapi is [not] Back on EWTN.

[NB: Obviously, since the time this was posted, a lot has changed. For a brief period of time after EWTN stopped broadcasting Father Corapi, some affiliate stations continued broadcasting this stuff. In any case, there are people far more irresponsible than Father Corapi's worst detractors are portraying him to be, working for the Church, attending Bishop's conferences, doing harm. Take Bishop Hubbard, for example, or hundreds of others. -Tancred, 11/20/11, King St. Edward.]

Editor: There were a few out there who wanted to compare apples and oranges when it came to Father Corapi. They tried to compare him to the effeminate and gay friendly Cardinal Bernardine and other soft-spoken and ineffectual Bishops who've been accused, credibly or not. They also complained about how it was his celebrity status which brought him down, irresponsibly speculating on something which hadn't happened as if it had. There are quite a few out there who can barely conceal their resentment at Father Corapi, which has taken a moment like this to make itself heard like chorus of malignant toads. Despite the fact that priests who are accused of homosexual predation don't get suspended when they're accused, credibly or not, there isn't such leniency for Father Corapi, he's got too many enemies. Of course, there's been a long standing animus against Fr. Corapi from the beginning by people of unsavory connections and activities.

Here's a statement from EWTN itself:

Of course, there's no official statement as yet, but Father Corapi was back on EWTN's Communications Director, Michelle Johnson, courtesy of timo.

“EWTN is not airing Father’s programs. If local EWTN radio affiliates wish to air programs to which they have the rights, they certainly may.”

Here's a letter he wrote, with accompanying links, which underscore why he is being persecuted like this. A lot of people who want to give an undue amount of credit to this "zero tolerance" policy by the Bishops don't talk about things like this:

Fr. Corapi letter written in 1984

by tantamergo

"I received a link via e-mail to a site that contains a letter sent by then seminarian John Corapi to a correspondent who had sent him a religious medal. The letter is really very frank and very telling, much more than a mere thank you note, it goes into the reasons for Corapis vocation and his divinely inspired mission in the Church. Its something that should be read in light of recent events. An excerpt below:

http://www.fathercorapidekalb.com/images/Father_John_Corapi_1.jpg
Before I ever heard of The Message of Garabandal The Mother of God, in a very personal way, made it known to me. She made me acutely aware of certain things concerning the Eucharist. These abuses I became aware of cause me much suffering. I often cry at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and I very often cry at night, not sleeping at all.

Whenever I would doubt this insight, almost immediately I would be given a sign to confirm that what I was feeling was correct. Some examples: (1) Seeing the priest at a church daily fail to Purify the Paten & Chalice and profanely disgarding the consecrated Host and Precious Blood down a drain! (2) Hearing homilies that state that no longer do we owe primary allegiance to the Pope, but rather to local Bishops who are more aware of our needs! (3) Listening to a Diocesan Vocation Director tell me that his Diocese would not be interested in Ordaining any man who was not open to Priests being able to marry and to serve a limited term as a Priest (Like an Army enlistment)! To say that I suffer to hear these things would be to say the least. However, there is a purpose to it all. My dear friend, the Mother of God, wants me to be aware of these dangers so that I can help her to wage war against the enemy. She has given me a vocation to the Priesthood so that I might help her to bring back holiness to her Sons Church and end these horrible abuses of the Eucharist.

There are many who do not wish to see me become a Priest because of my fierce loyalty to the Vicar of Christ and my outspoken defense of him and my condemnation of certain irreverent and even profane practices I see today. I have enemies because of this. So too did Our Beloved Saviour have enemies.

I have had to endure abuse and suffering because my views are now not popular with the local clergy. They call me a fanatic and say my views are outdated. Luckily, there are 3 archbishops (retired) who agree with me and protect me gaining admittance for me to a good Orthodox Seminary where my views are generally shared.

I know very well that my vocation will be that of a soldier engaged in a mortal combat. There will be more and worse suffering for all of us to endure. That is fine, for, as we know, Our Blessed Lord did not tell us to take up a bed of Roses and follow him. He said to take up a CROSS and follow Him! By the Grace of Almighty God and the Holy assistance and intercession of Our Good Friend The Mother of God I shall do so!

Being a weak and miserable creature that I am, I am much in need of Prayer. Please pray for me that I might be all that Our Blessed Mother wishes me to be.
This letter was written in 1984, when Fr. Corapi was still in seminary. He would not be ordained until 1991, in Rome, because his path to ordination was frought with roadblocks thrown up by those who were opposed to his becoming a priest. 27 years is a long time in a life, but it is difficult to see how the man, already fully adult and mature, could wander so drastically from the mission he lays out here to have engaged in the activities of which he is accused. Definitely, this is the Corapi we have witnessed in so many TV and radio programs.

We must always be wary of the world and the wiles of the devil. Greater men than Corapi have fallen so pray, alot, for him, his apostolate, and the Church. Especially for good and devoted, faithful priests, and good priestly formation. Pray for the instillation of the true Faith in our seminaries. "

Someone's Dug up Father Corapi's Military Records Again

Edit  GMT 0.105 June 22, A lot of interest in Father Corapi's military records, again since Mark Shea, a non-soldier if I've ever seen one, has decided to continue his dark Crusade.   First, bear in mind that military records are notoriously inaccurate and that a lot can happen, especially given the irregular nature of Special Forces units in general.  Father Corapi may have also served on a B-Team [which doesn't require the intensive training of A-Team members] and worked in an SF Training unit which was actually at Fort Knox during the time he was assigned there as an Infantryman.  It may be possible to belong to a B-Team without having jump wings and it's also understood that you can move up to advanced  parachute training, and the, like later on.

I'll also point out that I"m confident that most of the people commenting are rear-echelon types who have no special knowledge on the Special Forces or the historical time period being discussed, the height of the Vietnam War just before Tet, when the demand for men and material was high.

As noted before and elsewhere, Father Corapi is challenging the authority of the Bishops to pass rules and ordinances like this, making a priest guilty till proven innocent. CNS points out that no part of Canon Law was cited.

This copy of Father's military file has been floating around at least for four years, and others have wanted to "debunk" Father Corapi as well. Well, it's stuck over on Free Republic and it's a bit hard to read some of the later entries, and it can look bad if you don't know how to read the document and the acronyms. You have to realize that there are no things that jump out at you saying, "this is a super secret, special forces trooper." After looking at Wikipedia, it says that Father John was sworn in on April 16th 1967. After finishing up his Basic at what looks like it may be Fort Gordon, he was enrolled at Fort McClellan on 23 June of 1967, where he was first in Charley Company, Second Platoon, 3rd Battalion of the 175th Advanced Infantry Training Brigade. It's entirely consistent with his story that while he was training as a basic Infantryman, he was already committed to be Special Forces, and looking forward to going with relish. He then attends a course where he appears to have gone to Ft. Knox for a time. That's mostly Armor there, so who knows what he was doing there but it lists his MOS as 11B10 Infantry, and states that he is a attached as "student". It's not too far from Fort Campbell where there is a Special Forces Unit and Air Assault.

Basically, you can come from any MOS and be Green Beret. Father Corapi's military record is ENTIRELY consistent with his descriptions in his rousing speeches.

In fact, this file has been floating around for a while and was dealt with very well by another poster at the Catholic Answers Forum, here, it's very exhaustive and does a good job of defending Father Corapi. It would make sense that Father Corapi was hurt and after becoming an Infantryman, was sent to a more appropriate job as a clerk typist in Germany working for a General, when it was very dangerous with all the Bader Meinhof types roaming around.

Father Corapi Exonerated?

Editor: It's starting to look like all the pusillanimous types secretly crying for this man's blood, and posting strange time-lines of his supposed metamorphosis into Anton Levey are going to be kind of disappointed. It is to be hoped that Father's bishop goes to bat for him and sends this harridan packing.

KALISPELL, Montana, March 25, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A leader of the company that manages Rev. John Corapi’s media has claimed that the recent accusations against the popular priest were launched by a “disgruntled” former employee who vowed to “destroy” Corapi’s reputation.

Corapi, a well-known Catholic personality and member of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) who has been extremely outspoken on the life and family issues, has been placed on “administrative leave” in consultation with the diocese of Corpus Christi, Texas, where SOLT is based.

The move was in reaction to a letter by a former employee of the media company sent to several bishops and claiming that Corapi was addicted to drugs and sexually involved with multiple women.

Father Corapi and Cardinal Bernardin

Hey guys.

Editor: there are a number of people comparing Father Corapi to Cardinal Bernardin. Is it a simple case of people who defend Fr. Corapi are Catholic and people who attack him are probably not, while people who defend Cardinal Bernardin are probably homosexuals? Maybe. It's difficult to think of two men who are more different. Yes, they are both Homo sapiens who are priests and one of them is actually Catholic, but that's where any similarity ends. Cardinal Bernardin, while he was alive, maintained many controversial positions in terms of theology, liturgy and while acting as a pastor. The late Father Fiore maintains that the Cardinal was an active and predatory homosexual and the man who accused the Cardinal of abusing him, Mr. Cook, never retracted his statement about being one of the Cardinal's victims, even after receiving a chalice and a large cash settlement. [From Matt Abbott's Column]

Another strange event pointing to the Cardinal's unsavory character occurred when one of his flock was murdered. A choir director named Frank Pellegirini, whose girlfriend maintains, was in a homosexual relationship with a man whom she says belonged to the "Chicago Boy's Club":

One of the puzzling mysteries surrounding the murder involved Cardinal Bernardin. According to the police who were present at the crime scene, shortly after Pellegrini's body was discovered, Cardinal Bernardin arrived at the murdered man's home to quiz the officers about the killing. The cardinal told police that he did not know the murdered man. This raises the obvious question of how he learned of the killing so quickly and of what special interest was Pellegrini to him since he did not know the victim. The Pellegrini case was reopened in the early 1990s, but to date, the crime remains unsolved and Father Greeley remains silent ...

Strange that people are still attempting to clean the reputation of this evil individual. We've often found it strange that his truly great crimes, those of heresy and the fruits thereof are seldom pointed out. Unfortunately, people don't challenge his repute on his statements regarding biblical inerancy, when he claimed that the Gospel of John could no longer be taken as definitive teaching with respect to the Jews, but never mind.  It's also clear that he wasn't on board with respect to the theory of clerical chastity, even if he seems to have lacked care for it in practice. In any event, it's a little hard to understand how a man who had the "Windy City Gay Men's Chorus" sing at his funeral while Freemasons acted as pallbearers, can inspire a defense of the man's catholicity, but there it is. How sad that the Church is run by men of this stripe.

Of course, there are people out there who are still defending Father Maciel of the Legion of Christ, who had problems of his own with respect to orthodoxy.

It says a lot about a person, whom they defend and why. One tends to think that those who defend Cardinal Bernardin are like-minded when it comes to the sin that cries out to heaven for vengeance and are, appearances notwithstanding, ecclesiastical dissidents.

Ave Maria "Catholic" Boondoggle Now Bottom Ranked Law School

Dominoes recently changed its strategy and its product in the face of unfavorable reports about its product.
Frank Lloyd Wright isn't what you should be emulating, unless you like ugly as sin.

Perhaps Ave can make its image and product more attractive by eliminating the Catholicism contained in it? Its "Law" School is ranked at the bottom tier. Hey, c'mon now. It's one of the top-ten Law Schools in Florida.

As noted previously, Ave has a habit of supporting local Frankenstein labs, ugly architecture, pentecostal weirdness and the lowbrow Americanist, Tom Monahan, pizza king.

Photo stolen from, here.

And Stop Wearing Ugly Vestments and Bath Robes

Of course, Tom Monahan isn't the only neo-Con to be taking it on the chops. EWTN is getting hit, but they deserve it.  Still, we're a little concerned about due process here.  The Hen house is out of control over at Anchoress with calls all around to perhaps, maybe possibly, presume guilty until proven innocent? Anchoress is correct that Father Corapi isn't a divinity, but for a lot of people, he's the only virile and mostly orthodox male voice talking about Catholicism any of them hear.  Understandably, a lot of people are very loyal to Father Corapi. Understandably so, I repeat, because for many of them, Father Corapi was the first dose of real Catholicism they ever got; you always remember the people who fed you when your Bishops, parish priest or religious sisters left you to starve. [Editor: I'd never seen a straight looking, straight acting priest before Father Corapi] Anchoress may not want to give Father Corapi the benefit of the doubt, but she'll go to bat for the generally cowardly, less than orthodox and litigation shy American Bishops.   Here's a sample of what the Cancerous writes in response to an e-mail poster who said that Father Corapi is the only voice of Catholicism:

What astonishing nonsense; what an untruth! What a slanderous and diminishing insult to the thousands [We've met a handful out of hundreds personally, but even so, there's a RING of truth in what he says.] of fine, orthodox faithful priests and religious, deacons, seminarians and lay people [inclusive language is never a good sign] who put their whole hearts and souls into serving this church and its truth with fervor, courage and complete fidelity. [Not sure she has the same concerns or idea of fidelity we do, but we're just mean old Traditionalists, here] Fr. Corapi is a very fine preacher and a priest who has worked with the Holy Spirit to bring many souls back to Christ or to a deeper understanding of the mysteries of his Bride, the church. To say anything more than that is to betray something unhealthy beneath all the admiration.[Not so sure the Cancerous understands what the man was saying, or whether or not she would know orthodoxy if it showed up on her doorstep wrapped in filthy rags and suffering from leprosy, anyway...]  Corapi, I am sure, would be the first to refute that bizarre claim as the unloving, uncharitable, un-church-serving slander it is. [That might be true, but he always reminded people that there were a lot of Bishops and priests out there who didn't know what they were doing].

In any event, neo-Conservatives like the Anchoress, being for the most part, Straussians of one sort or another, don't have as much of an objective concern  about truth as would be hoped, they care about appearances, and a culturally determined scale between means and extremes that are based more upon their own prejudices and mental blocks than they are on reality or things as they are.  You see it on Catholic Answers all the time, and it's really what is part of the problem with personality cults in the first place.

Make no mistake, Father Corapi is himself a neo-Conservative who insisted at one point that failure to participate in the American electoral process consisted in a serious sin. Come now Father, don't you realize that Republicans promise big and deliver the other side's agenda when it comes? That's what comes of lacking a reverence for principles, of the truth, but never mind. Perhaps this will re-alloy Father's love and appreciation for the truth?

In any case, in Father's defense, it's important to highlight what's been going on with the abuse hoax and how it's served to complicate things.  Wow, if it's not bad enough dealing with the hen house, you've got to deal with the cowardly administration taking seriously any accusation, no matter how uncredible, or even false, against you, and putting you on administrative leave.  This makes a man look guilty before he's been declared innocent; or depending on your Pharisaical point of view...   In any event, the Pharisees are out for blood and whether or not Father is guilty, he's absolutely right.  His reputation and the good work he did, the reason why people were willing to pay hundreds of dollars to hear him speak, is damaged.  Here's what Father said, and it's spot on, priests are falsely accused and it seems very likely, especially if we can believe Father Corapi, that this is one more example of that:

"On Ash Wednesday I learned that a former employee sent a three-page letter to several bishops accusing me of everything from drug addiction to multiple sexual exploits with her and several other adult women. There seems to no longer be th...e need for a complaint to be deemed “credible” in order for Church authorities to pull the trigger on the Church’s procedure, which was in recent years crafted to respond to cases of the sexual abuse of minors. I am not accused of that, but it seems, once again, that they now don’t have to deem the complaint to be credible or not, and it is being applied broadly to respond to all complaints. I have been placed on "administrative leave" as the result of this."

Photo stolen from, here.

More stuff on Father Corapi, today:

Also, Doctor Kopp made a point about Father Corapi's wealth.  Not only was he collecting substantial fees for his skills as a speaker, but he won a substantial amount of money from a lawsuit recently.  Can you say, "out of court settlement?"
