Heralds of the Gospel Reject Papal Commissar

Heralds of the Gospel resist the Roman Commissar
(Brasilia) The Heralds of the Gospel have announced in a press release their opposition to the Roman Commissar's decree. It is a "private" association, which is why the Vatican has no jurisdiction to put them under provisional administration. The Heralds therefore do not recognize the apostolic commissioner.
The press release "The Private Association of the Faithful Heralds of the Gospel on the Acting Administration" states that its president, Felipe Eugenio Lecaros Concha, met with the General Council of the Association on 17 October to ratify the Roman Commissar's Decree and to discuss further procedure. From Rome the Heralds of the Gospel had been informed that they were placed under temporary administration. Even before they got the Decree, they had to read it in the Vatican media.
The Gospel Heralds in 2017 had more than 40,000 members worldwide. They are tight and well organized.
The Congregation of Religious had appointed Raymundo Damasceno Assis, Commissar in late September, with the approval of Pope Francis Cardinal, and Bishop José Aparecido Gonçalves de Almeida as his assistant.
The meeting of the General Council took place "in a climate of complete transparency and profound sincerity as they form the basis of this ecclesial community."
There was discovered "the absolute invalidity and complete illegality of the above-mentioned decree." The reason for this is a "fundamental error contained therein," which means a "serious canonical illegality" and the result of "invalidity".
The press release contains the full statement by the President to the Commissioner appointed by Rome and his assistant, with whom he met on 18 October.
"We must declare that we do not recognize your eminence as "Commissioner" of the private association of faithful Heralds of the Gospel ."
The main center of the Heralds of the Gospel in Brazil
The formal mistake, according to the Heralds, is that the Decree is directed to a "public union of believers," but that the heralds are a "private association." The legal difference lies in the degree of Church recognition and thus in the legal status. The "private association" represents a first stage of recognition at the diocesan level, which may lead to recognition as a "public association."
To illustrate the situation, the President wrote:
"It's as if a magistrate appears in the house of Antonio López with a notice to Pedro Rodríguez."
Mr López does not receive a valid judicial notification because of a personal error. Similarly, the Heralds of the Gospel can not receive a decree addressed to another union.
However, according to the President, it is crucial that the Heralds of the Gospel, as a "private association of believers," can not be the subject of a provisional administration, since such is not provided for by Church law. To subordinate a private association to a commissioner would mean "violating the sacred and inviolable right of the faithful to be able to unite in the Church with their own statutes and their own leadership."
"If the dicastery for lay people, family and life, to which we are directly responsible, takes no action, the matter is over for us, I have informed His Eminence."
  • The position of the Heralds of the Gospel is based on the opinions of canon lawyers, who were called in by the association. These stated that the Roman decree violates Canon 318 of the Codex Iuris Canonici, which provides for a provisional administration only for companies and public associations. Likewise, it violates the Canons 50 and 51 because it is not sufficiently substantiated and the association was not previously heard.
  • According to the report of "the renowned canonist, Lluis Martinez Sistach, only public associations of the competent ecclesiastical authority in serious cases and for serious reasons, temporarily" can be subordinated to a provisional leadership.
  • For private associations this jurisdiction does not apply. The ecclesiastical authority therefore has no possibility of replacing the chairman elected by the association's own statutes and the management of the association (Ius Canonicum, XXVI, No. 51, 1986, p. 173).
  • It should also be noted that in civil matters, the final judgment of the Tribunal de Relación de Coimbra, Portugal, of 17 May 2011, unanimously stated that "the private associations of faithful are subject to the supervision of the competent ecclesiastical authorities, but not by reference to their 'obligation of oversight' appointing commissioners as representatives of the association." Relations between Portugal and the Holy See are governed by a Concordat in force.
  • The most important testimony in this sense, however, comes from the Dicastery of Laity, Family and Life itself: it annulled the commissioner's decree of the archdiocese of Diamantina (Brazil) against the private association of the faithful Palabra VivaThe decree was annulled by the Holy See on 15 March 2016. The reason given for the annulment was that, under existing law, the appointment of a Commissioner (Can., 318) is intended only for public associations of believers (Cann., 312-320). A corresponding application to a private association of the faithful is not legitimate and the appointment of a Commissioner is therefore not permitted.
Cardinal Assis and Bishop Aparecido took note of the remarks made by the leader of the Heralds of the Gospel on 18 OctoberMsgr. Aparecido, himself a canon lawyer, said that the message was that he would write to the Holy See explaining that "there is indeed an admissible objection".
Heralds of the Gospel
The Congregation of Religious, say the Heralds, basically do not have jurisdiction over a private association of the faithful, regardless of whether their members are lay or clerical.
The leader of the Heralds of the Gospel also addresses the question of the reasons for the Roman Commissioner's decree. It was still "an unknown mystery," about what the association is being accused. The reasons given in the decree are of such a general nature and of "a suspicious inconsistency" that the only consequence is "great confusion":
"Because we are aware that the Heralds of the Gospel have committed no crime and have always maintained the integrity of the faith and customs. In this sense, it is noticeable that the previous Apostolic Visitation, which took place in an atmosphere of ecclesial communion and pervaded all of us, was completed without any "problematic" question, let alone a "serious one."
Rome wants to administer the association in a tacit and arbitrary manner. But why?
"Therefore, and because the purpose of the Congregation of Orders (an authority which has no jurisdiction over our lay association), is to ask the Prefect of this Congregation, Cardinal Braz de Aviz, with the necessary respect:
"If we did something wrong, then tell us clearly what. But if not, why are you trying to punish us at any cost?"
The meeting with the two prelates appointed by Rome also addressed the "moral lynching" of which the Heralds of the Gospel, since the Roman Commissioner's Decree, have undergone by the media-led through "anti-religious prejudices." This campaign had "caused irreparable moral damage," and the responsible leadership of the association must "react in time with the necessary means," even of a legal nature.
The broadcast concludes:
We turn our eyes to the mild and mighty Virgin Mary, of whose infallible help we are certain. We re-consecrate ourselves to Her and our apostolate of the Association of Heralds of the Gospel, which already belongs to her, all for the greater glory of God.

A Long Awaited Splash for God's Glory

By David Martin

It’s being called the greatest news coming out of Rome in months!

Five of the Amazonian idols on display at the Vatican have been confiscated and thrown into the Tiber River by a handful of loyal Catholics, who in turn have circulated this on the Internet.

The trashing of the idols has been applauded by faithful Catholics the world over who are fed up with the profanation of the House of God that has been advanced through the Amazonian Synod presently underway in Rome.

Among the idols that were ‘drowned’ was the nude idol representing “Mother Earth” that has been adulated by the Vatican hierarchy as part of this synodal effort to make the Church bow to the planet. Francis and several cardinals were even filmed last week lighting candles and offering incense to the idol. Vatican rep denies claims that alleged ‘pagan’ statue is the Virgin Mary

It's uncertain how many of the idols are left in Rome. At least five are in the Church of Santa Maria Transpontina. In addition, there is at least one in the hall where the synod is being held, and perhaps another in St. Peter's Basilica, but we know that at least five of them are no longer desecrating the Church.

The group that did this cites their reason on the Internet:

This was done for only one reason:
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, his Blessed Mother, and everybody who follows Christ, are being attacked by members of our own Church.
We do not accept this! We do not longer stay silent! We start to act NOW!
Because we love humanity, we cannot accept that people of a certain region should not get baptized and therefore are being denied entrance into heaven.
It is our duty to follow the words of God like our holy Mother did.
There is no second way of salvation.
Christus vincit, Christus regnat, Christus imperat!

The Vatican has decried the act, saying that it is “an insult to indigenous peoples,” but critics retort that it is Pope Francis who is an insult to indigenous peoples because he refuses to convert them from their indigenous ways, thus advancing their eternal banishment from God. He seems to have forgotten the first Commandment: "I am the Lord thy God; you shall not have false Gods before me."

It is expected that this latest splash will continue to generate waves worldwide. In the meantime, hats off to those faithful witnesses of Christ who pulled this off for God’s glory! May it resound the world over!

Is the Amazonian Synod Inciting God’s Wrath?

By David Martin

A poster of a topless indigenous woman breast-feeding a weasel is among the many graphics being used to publicize the infamous Amazonian Synod presently underway in Rome. LifeSiteNews videographer Jim Hale was able to obtain this footage while documenting the Synod in Rome.

Disgusting as it is, there is more to this than meets the eye. It derives from Pope Francis' eco-encyclical Laudato Si, which underscores the synod. What they're saying is that everything in creation is "interconnected," that we are "related" to the animals, and it uses this degraded imagery to make the point.

According to the synodal architects, we're just animals. The synod is about our "ecological conversion" and oneness with the planet, not about our oneness with Christ. It calls upon the Church to bow to the planetary idol and make "reparation" to "Mother-Earth" for the "sins" committed against her. It dignifies the superstition of pagan culture and seeks to pollute the Church therewith. It is truly the work of Antichrist.

Mr. Hale was also able to capture on film a most deplorable scene inside of St. Peter's Basilica—a nude Mother Earth idol along with Pope Francis and various cardinals chanting, dancing, and praying before the statue. The nude idol along with other shocking exhibits are now on display in the Santa Maria in Transpontina Church, just down the street from St. Peter’s. It appears that the Eternal City has become a forum for globalists.

Divine Wrath Imminent?

That Rome should descend to such diabolical depths that would have the hierarchy carousing around this latter-day golden calf is a clear testament to the apostasy of our times. These shocking events immediately call to mind Christ's prophecy concerning the divine wrath of the last days that would ensue in the wake of the abominations that would pollute the Sanctuary. As he says:

"When therefore you shall see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place: he that readeth let him understand.... For there shall be then great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, neither shall be. And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh should be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days shall be shortened." (Matthew 24:15-22)

The synod also calls to mind how God many times in the Bible had punished the Jews for turning to strange gods worshiping idols in their groves. Is history about to repeat itself?

The pope and his errant hierarchy would do well to put away their idol and return to their knees before their Crucified Savior and King on the Cross, remembering the admonition of Holy Scripture:

"For power is given you by the Lord, and strength by the most High, who will examine your works, and search out your thoughts: Because being ministers of his kingdom, you have not judged rightly, nor kept the law of justice, nor walked according to the will of God. Horribly and speedily will he appear to you: for a most severe judgment shall be for them that bear rule." (Wisdom 6: 4-6)

Did the Vatican Denounce Scalfari?

by Giuseppe Nardi
The column published yesterday by Eugenio Scalfari led to a brief reaction from the Vatican Press Office. Scalfari revealed in the daily La Repubblica that Francis entrusted him, in a personal conversation, with the conviction that Jesus Christ was "not God at all". But how did the Holy See react to this nuclear bomb of atomic bombs?
Strictly taciturn. So far, only the new Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni has reacted. He said:
"As has been said on other occasions, the words that Dr. Eugenio Scalfari ascribed to the Holy Father in conversations with him, are not as a faithful representation of what has actually been said, but above all are a personal and free interpretation of what he has heard, as it quite obviously seems, what is written today concerning the deity of Jesus Christ."
Will the Vatican spokesman say that Scalfari is senile or even malicious? Or did he just want to say that the doyen of Italian left-journalism no longer hears well, and put together something in good faith that Francis has neither said nor meant?

And that was it?

Various media today claim that "Pope Francis" or "the Vatican" has denied Scalfari.
Why does Francis talk to a journalist, not to any journalist, but to Eugenio Scalfari, who he knows will then make the conversation public and, by reason of his position, will be well received? Not once, but repeatedly.
Given the long list of scandalous statements attributed to Francis by Scalfari since 2013, papal behavior is not explained by what has been said on other occasions. All the "corrections" made by the Vatican press office, which had previously been made to Scalfari, were everything, just no real denials. Why?
As any observer can convince, the Vatican press office knows very well to express a clear distancing. Exactly that has never happened to Scalfari.
As in the past his two predecessors Federico Lombardi SJ and Greg Burke also Bruni denied the said. Rather, it is each more or less confirmed, so even yesterday. Scalfari just simply interpreted the pope's words a bit "freely".

As usual, Francis is silent

Pope Francis is silent. He was silent on every Scalfari scandal produced in his name. Scalfari is very public with his media and its international reputation. Francis knows that too. Still, he talks to Scalfari again. Why? Especially since, according to Scalfari, he is "not converting" anyway.
The fact is that Scalfari, as spokesman for Pope Francis, is accustoming the public, above all the Catholic community, to the incomprehensible and unthinkable with a constant increase. This creates a stagnation that could accelerate the process of erosion in the Church in unexpected ways. And everything happens as usual:
As usual, Scalfari publishes a scandal "in the name of the Pope".
As usual, the Vatican signals without really denying that this is not to be taken literally.
As usual, Francis continues to contact Scalfari.
As usual, the "not so literal" Pope's opinion circulates in public and draws its circles.
As usual, the Scalfari Teaching Office follows a precise worldview that today is that of the mainstream and, for a long time, that of Freemasonry.
As usual, in today's edition of La Repubblica, we do not say a word about a Vatican denial. Why?

Not true, but probably

It is not only clear that the Pope should choose his interlocutor better. The matter is much more serious.
It is clear that the weak reaction of Vatican spokesman Bruni is not an adequate answer to the incomprehensible scandal, Pope Francis denied the deity of Jesus Christ.
After all, his Jesuit General, Arturo Sosa Abascal, has already doubted the genuineness of the Gospel and the words of the Lord handed down in it, for after all, there are no electronic recordings of it.
"Unbelievable, but true," wrote Vatican writer Sandro Magister at the time.
The bottom line is not just another unpleasant aftertaste (how much does the Church tolerate?), But far more worrying, because the statement may not be true, but likely.

Did Pope Francis Deny Christ's Divinity?

By David Martin

The pope’s favorite interviewer has gone on record as saying that Francis denies the divinity of Christ. Italian journalist Eugenio Scalfari said on Wednesday that the pope told him that Jesus of Nazareth “was not God at all.”

In the October 9 issue of La Repubblica, Scalfari wrote: “Those who have had the chance, as I have had different times, to meet him [Pope Francis] and speak to him with the greatest cultural confidence, know that Pope Francis conceives Christ as Jesus of Nazareth, a man, not God incarnate. Once incarnated, Jesus ceases to be a God and becomes a man until his death on the cross.”

Scalfari cites examples in Scripture where Christ prayed, including the account of his agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, to support his thesis that Jesus Christ was not divine. He continues: “When I happened to discuss these phrases, Pope Francis told me: ‘They are the definite proof that Jesus of Nazareth, once he became a man, even if he was a man of exceptional virtue, was not God at all.’”

The Vatican press office has discouraged the report, opining that Scalfari’s account merely represents “a personal and free interpretation of what he has heard.” Even so, the Vatican has not been able to refute the report with any certitude. The fact that Francis has done nothing to disavow the report tends to give it credence.

If the report is true, then Francis has unofficially professed the heresy of Arianism, which says that Christ on earth was not God Himself, the Second Person of the Trinity by Whom “all things” were made (John 1: 3), but was just a mere man.

This inference is encouraged when we consider Francis’ ongoing slight of doctrine and his repeated efforts to dissuade Catholics from attempting to convert members of other religions. If Francis has no confidence in the One True Church that Christ left us, would it not indicate that it is Christ Himself Whom he lacks confidence in?

This apostate attitude is certainly reflected in the Amazonian Synod presently underway in Rome. According to Archbishop Viganò, 'Christ is absent' from the synod's working document. Cardinal Burke has described the Synod as “a direct attack on the Lordship of Christ.” The synod is all about bowing to “mother-earth” in defiance of the everlasting ordinance that we bow only to Christ the King on His throne, so Scalfari’s claim about Francis is not far-fetched.

If it is, the pope will publicly disavow this, but if he doesn’t we can only infer that he blesses Scalfari, just as he has blessed him in the past by granting him new interviews after Scalfari had publicly attributed to him outlandish statements that contravene doctrine. If this isn’t an endorsement of Scalfari’s work, what is?

Cardinal Burke Cites Amazon Synod as a “Direct Attack” on Christ

By David Martin

Cardinal Raymond Burke has come out and blasted the upcoming Amazonian Synod as a direct attack on Jesus Christ. The synod is scheduled to convene this month in Rome from the 6-27.

In an interview published Sept. 27 in First Things, the 71 year old cardinal told reporter Sohrab Ahmari, "The working document of the Pan-Amazonian synod is a direct attack on the Lordship of Christ. It says to people, ‘You already have the answers, and Christ is just one among many sources of answers.’ This is apostasy!"

The cardinal laments the misuse of the Amazonian Synod to try to change both the doctrines and disciplines of the Catholic Church.

"The fundamental concept of a synod was to call together representatives of the clergy and the lay people to see how the Church could more effectively teach and more effectively apply her discipline," Burke said. "Synods never had anything to do with changing doctrine or with changing discipline."

Yea, synods never had anything to do with starting a new religion. The Amazonian Synod is all about our "ecological conversion" and oneness with the planet, not about our oneness with God. It's about uniting the Catholic Church with the world. It calls upon the Church to bow to a planetary idol, not to its Crucified Savior and King on the cross.

According to Archbishop Viganò, 'Christ is absent' from the synod's working document. German Cardinal Walter Brandmüller openly says it contains "heresy" and approaches "apostasy."

The synod indeed marks a historic attempt to dethrone Christ and secularize the Catholic Church. For it seeks to dignify the superstition of pagan culture while standing against any attempt to convert man from indigenous ways. The faithful have every reason to speak out against this synod, for without prayer and militant action it promises to be another disaster for the Church.

Pope Gives Rousing Endorsement to James Martin

[America] Pope Francis received James Martin, S.J., in a 30-minute private audience in the papal library of the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace this morning, Sept. 30, in what is seen here as a highly significant public statement of support and encouragement for this U.S. Jesuit. Father Martin is well known as a public speaker, author and for his pastoral ministry to L.G.B.T. people.
“I was very moved by my encounter with a real pastor,” a joy-filled Father Martin told America after the meeting. “I am most grateful to the Holy Father for his generosity in granting me an audience in the midst of his busy schedule,” he said.

Father Martin would not reveal what the pope said to him in the course of their conversation, except that “we both laughed several times.” He did say, however, that “among other things, I shared with Pope Francis the experiences of L.G.B.T. Catholicsaround the world, their joys and their hopes, their griefs and concerns. I also spoke about my own ministry to them and how they feel excluded.” He concluded, “I saw this audience as a sign of the Holy Father’s care for L.G.B.T. people.”

Catholic Bishops Decry Jewish Intimidation of Christians in Palestine

“Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men” (I Thes. 2:15)

Edit:  not a lot of press coverage by our vigilant fifth estate.

Jish (Agenzia Fides) - The Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land has denounced the recent acts of intimidation perpetrated against local Christian communities by extremist Jewish groups, considered close to the settler movement.
On the morning of Friday, July 19, 2019, in Jish, in Galilee, unknown assailants damaged cars and wrote slogans in offensive Hebrew against Christians. The previous week, Friday 12 July, participants in a parish party held at the Church of St. James in Beit Hanina, a suburb of East Jerusalem, were hit by the launch of tomatoes and other objects thrown by provocateurs residing at the nearby Jewish settlement of Naveh Yaacov. At least in the first case, the intimidating act is attributable to the groups that in recent years have hit mosques or Christian places (Tabgha, Beit Jamal, Latrun, the Dormition, etc.) in various ways, signing their own violent acts and their profanations with the "Price Tag" formula (the price to pay).

The ordinary Catholic Bishops of the Holy Land issued a statement on Friday 19 July in which, among other things, they express sadness and sorrow for the repetition of criminal acts that are not prosecuted, despite numerous complaints made.
Attacks and profanations against Christian monasteries, churches and cemeteries perpetrated by extremist groups identified with the slogan "Price Tag" began in February 2012. Since then, extremist militants from groups close to the settler movement have also carried out attacks against mosques frequented by the Palestinian Arabs of Islamic religion.

The crimes committed by "Price tag" express the racial hatred of the ultra-nationalist Jewish right, and they often go unpunished. In May 2016, as reported by Agenzia Fides (see Fides, 24/5/2016), the Israeli-based Association of Rabbis for Human Rights also launched a campaign to raise awareness among Israeli political forces about the emergency represented by attacks on Christian and Muslim religious targets by extremist gangs. (GV) (Agenzia Fides, 22/7/2019)
