New Old LIberal Bishop is Worried by the Immemorial Mass of All Ages

The Traditional Mass concerns the new Bishop of Porto, while the abolition of priestly celibacy would "not shock" him.
(Lisbon) On 15 March Pope Francis appointed a new Bishop of Porto. For the first time in recent days, the diocesan bishop has spoken in the media for the first time. Topics included the celibacy of the priests and the traditional rite.
On September 11, 2017, Bishop Antonio Francisco dos Santos of Porto was stricken unexpectedly at the age of 69 by a heart attack. His death triggered unease in part of the clergy. It was urged to change the Apostolic Nuncio, because he was "not enough of a Bergoglian". Only then should the follow-up question be tackled. This did not happen, but the new bishop sent out signals that could satisfy this part of the clergy.
The new Bishop of Porto is Manuel da Silva Rodrigues Linda. In the Autumn of 2013, Pope Francis appointed him military bishop of the country. Francis has now made him the diocesan bishop of Porto.
The exact date of origin of this diocese is unknown. It is certain that in the 6th century it was consolidated under the rule of the Suevs as a stable institution. During the subsequent Islamic rule, information about the bishops of Porto is missing for approximately 150 years. The diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Braga.

"That would not shock me"

The Jornal de Noticias has published the first big interview of the new bishop on March 25th. It is from a video interview taken by editors of the same newspaper and also published.
To abolish the celibacy of priests, the bishop said:
"That would not shock me. In the same way as the norm of celibacy has come, it can disappear again. At the beginning of the church the priests were married men."
Bishop Manuel da Silva Rodrigues Linda was also interviewed on the admission of remarried divorced people to the Sacraments. Various Portuguese diocese have already published guidelines on this.
Jornal de Noticias: Will you also prepare a message about the remarried divorced? How will it comply with the Pope's instructions to integrate these situations in your diocese? Will you follow the Bishop of Braga or more to the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon?
Bishop Linda: Pope Francis does not provide any solutions, he initiates challenges. And the process is to scan the terrain, as we experienced in the Synod. It should be a way of study. The road from Braga seems very balanced. It is that couples who find themselves in this situation and want to re-enter the fullness of the Church's life should spend at least half a year examining the reasons why they want to do it, supported by technicians [SIC], psychologists, priests, and other married people [scary].
Jornal de Noticias: If a remarried person feels ready to receive the Eucharist, is such a great therapeutic effort necessary?
Bishop Linda: That is it! We are not just talking about a legal level, but also about the depth of conscience.
Jornal de Noticias: But is that not going to be an even bigger stigma for many remarried people, who already feel effectively stigmatized?
Bishop Linda: There are many typologies among the remarried divorced so that we have to clarify each case and analyze how far it is in accordance with the Church.

Repent because "strict groups were given space"

The new bishop was also asked by the newspaper about the "return" of Holy Mass in the traditional rite.
Bishop Linda: I am very worried because in certain cases it ties up the boys and especially the intellectuals. We do not know why these individuals find satisfaction in these rites.
At the same time, Bishop Linda criticized Pope Benedict XVI because in 2007 he opened the traditional form of the Roman Rite home again in the Church.
The bishop said that the video interview did not make it clear whether he meant it ironically, but what to assume:
"Maybe we bishops and priests should repent because we gave room to these strict groups."

Consecrated Hosts Stolen for Black Masses?

Theft of consecrated hosts: A wrought-iron crucifix was used as a crowbar to break into the tabernacle.
(Rome) Late in the evening of March 22, consecrated Hosts were stolen in a church in the archdiocese of Ancona-Osimo from the tabernacle. The suspicion also falls upon Satanists. The responsible archbishop made the following statement the very next day:
"With deep sorrow I announce the news that on the evening of March 22, 2018 in the parish church of San Francesco alle Scale, unknown hands broke open the tabernacle and robbed two ciboria with the Most Holy Eucharist. This is a terrible act that insults God most severely and deeply offends the heart of our local church because there is nothing more precious in the Church of God than the Holy Eucharist.
It is an outrageous act deliberately committed to steal the sacred species and misuse It for who knows what sacrilegious purposes. Anyone who has committed this act has incurred excommunication, from which only the Holy See, because of the particular gravity of the act (excommunication latae sententiae ) according to Canon 1367 CIC, can absolve.
Our hearts are joined in reparation and adoration to pray for the conversion of those who have insulted our Lord Jesus Christ present in the Most Holy Eucharist. I call on all priests to celebrate Holy Mass this week for the remission of sins and to hold a moment of worship with the community, if possible on Holy Thursday, March 29th. On March 23, at 6 pm, I will celebrate the Holy Eucharist with the local parish in the desecrated parish church and adore  the Blessed Sacrament of the altar to worship the Lord and ask for mercy. May the Immaculate Virgin and the holy church patron be intercessors.
+ Angelo Spina, Archbishop of Ancona-Osimo. "

"The situation is clear"

The archbishop indicated in his statement what some media have stated more clearly: The archdiocese is greatly worried that the apparently, the deliberately targeted robbery of the altar sacrament - otherwise nothing was stolen - could serve satanic purposes. The Corriere Adriatico headline on March 24:

"Breaking in the Church: Black Masses with the Consecrated Hosts"
The exorcist, Don Paolo Sconocchini, shares the same view in an article in the newspaper Il Resto del Carlino of 25 March. The exorcist has no doubts: "The sacrilegious robbery" is aimed at "black Masses at Easter". The Satanists would ape the "Holy Mass but celebrate it backwards." Good Friday and the Easter Vigil are for Satanists the most important moments of the year.

Don Sconocchini is pastor of the Church of St. Charles of Osimo.
"The situation is clear. Since the consecrated hosts have no value for a thief as loot, the perpetrators have a different goal. The Satanists have a teaching that turns our faith upside down. The death hour of the Lord on Good Friday is a moment of joy for the Satanists."

Crucifix as a crowbar

He also said that a wrought-iron crucifix was used as a crowbar to break the tabernacle. The crucifix was badly damaged (see picture). Robbers have their burglary tool with them when they go on a heist. In this particular case, the enemies of the Church are at work who have sacrilegiously planned their crime in detail and pulled it off.

In recent years, there have been no similar incidents in the area.
"But it is an open secret that these groups, committed to the occult, gather in holy sites to celebrate their rites."
Satanism is divided into different directions. Also, the role that Satan plays in the different directions is different. Common to them, however, is the rejection of Christianity and the openness to Satan. This is expressed in their symbolism. For them, the number of the animal is important and positively occupied, the three times repeated "f" (the sixth letter of the alphabet, but also the so-called Nero cross, also known as the death rune, as used by the anti-nuclear and peace movement.

The pastor and exorcist speak of "dark powers that are at work in our time." Every generation has committed sins, but there is a difference "from the generation of our grandparents": "Earlier generations still had a clear idea of good and evil. This distinction is becoming more and more unstable and blurred. "

Church Militant Finds Bishops Don’t Care if Priests Are Sexually Active

Edit: they wrongfully claim they “broke” this story. We reported it days before because we know a guy who reads La Stampa, which broke the story in the Italian press. Anyway, they did good to interview the originator of the Dossier.  What’s especially interesting in all this is that the bishops here don’t seem to care that their priests are broken.

[Church Militant] Francesco Mangiacapra is on a one-man crusade against homosexual clergy in the Catholic Church. After Church Militant broke the news of Fr. Luca Morini's blackmail scandal and the 1,200-page dossier of priestly misconduct Mangiacapra delivered to the archdiocese of Naples, Italy — now in the hands of the Vatican — the male escort has been all over Italian news explaining his motives — while the Vatican remains silent.
"Every time I've informed them [bishops] about the homosexual relationships of priests, their only interest is to know if the priests have been involved with underage boys — as if the only problem is the threshold of the law," Mangiacapra told Church Militant. "A problem that the Church must face is that many of these men [escorts] — either adolescents or adults — are frequently in conditions of extreme poverty and are mentally and psychologically subjugated by those who represent to them a guide, and use this position to take advantage of these men."

The Devil and Father Amorth

The Devil and Father Amorth. The documentary by William Friedkin.

Yesterday, the official trailer for the documentary "The Devil & Father Amorth" was released. A documentary by William Friedkin, the director of The Exorcist, about one of the most famous exorcists.

Friedkin’s film, The Exorcist was released in 1973 and was included in the genre of horror film. Decades later, the director wanted to know how authentic his film was. How far removed it was from reality, what fiction and what reality was. For this he contacted the most famous exorcist.

Friedkin met several times with P. Gabriele Amorth and was allowed to accompany him to his exorcist service. This resulted in the documentary that will be released in theaters in the United States next April 20. What both could not know: These were the last months before Amorth's death.

Existence of evil

According to Friedkin, it was the concern of P. Amorth to make visible the reality of personified evil. Due to interviews of the director after Amorth's death, there had been criticism in the past. He announced that Amorth had allowed him to film an exorcism. Other exorcists, Amorth's students, suspected Friedkin might have filmed with a hidden camera without permission. Friedkin sees himself as the "last witness" of the work of Fr. Gabriele Amorth as an exorcist.

Father Amorth died on 16 September 2016 after a short, severe illness at the age of 91 years. In the last 30 years of his life, he was the priest of the Society of St. Paul Exorcist of the Diocese of Rome, and from 1992 the chief exorcist.

By 2007, he had performed around 70,000 exorcisms. A lot last only "a few minutes", others "several hours", he said in a newspaper interview. All in all, in his life he faced "true obsession" in about a hundred cases. These were usually "demonic disorders" or forms of mental illness.

In 1990, Father Amorth founded the International Association of Exorcists (AIE) based in Rome. It includes priests who are officially commissioned by a diocesan bishop to serve as the exorcist. In 2014, the Association was approved by the Holy See by decree of the Congregation of Clergy. Until his 75th birthday in 2000, he was president, then honorary chairman of the association.

"Evil leads to terrible things"

The evil, according to Father Amorth in the 2013 documentary "Amorth - the Exorcist", seduces "terrible things". But there is no man, "whatever he may have done, who could not be saved by repentance and the grace of God." The motto of every priest, and especially of the exorcists, must therefore be:

"To fight relentlessly against sin, but not against the sinner."
The exorcist of "the Diocese of the Pope" was a man of clear words. In 2010, he caused a stir in an interview with the daily newspaper Il Foglio:

"Yes, there are also members of satanic sects in the Vatican. They are priests, monsignori and also cardinals! It has been confessed several times by the devil during an exorcism."

When asked whether Pope Benedict XVI. was so informed, Father Amorth replied:

"Of course he has been informed! He does what he can. It is a shocking thing. Bear in mind that Benedict XVI. Is a German Pope. He comes from a people who firmly reject such things. There are hardly any exorcists in Germany. "

Freemasonry and abortion

"Unfortunately there are many priests and many bishops who do not believe in the existence of the devil. There are whole countries without officially appointed exorcists. Many bishops do not believe in the existence of the devil and even go so far as to say publicly that hell does not exist, the devil does not exist. But Jesus speaks of it several times in the Gospel, so that one might wonder if they have never read the Gospel or really believe it!”

In 2015, he said in a television interview on Freemasonry and Abortion:

"Freemasonry was originally founded by an Anglican pastor, initially for humanitarian reasons. But then something else came out of it. It's about power and money. For power and money. These are two gates of evil."

"The devil is the confounder par excellence. He twists things. He is the father of lies. There is no truth in him. The less people believe in his existence, the more conscious or unconscious tools he finds among men. Take the example of abortion. An innocent child is killed and a human being killed. But they want to make us believe that this is progress. For progress! To kill a human being is progress? You have to imagine that. It's hard to believe."

Police Raid Saginaw Bishop’s Residence

SAGINAW COUNTY, MI -- Police are raiding two Catholic Diocese of Saginaw properties and the home of Bishop Joseph Cistone as part of an ongoing investigation into sexual abuse in the church.
Saginaw County Assistant Prosecutor Mark Gaertner said he can't say what officers are searching for and taking from the properties, but confirmed the search warrants executed Thursday, March 22, are related to the diocese's lack of cooperation.
"Contrary to the statements of the diocese and the bishop that they would fully cooperate with law enforcement, they did not," Gaertner said. "Therefore it was necessary for law enforcement to use other investigative tools, including search warrants."

Gaertner said search warrants were executed at the bishop's home on Corral Drive in Saginaw Township, the rectory at Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt in Saginaw, and the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw offices in Saginaw Township.

Benedictines of the Strict Observance Consecrated in Albenga-Imperia

Bishop Olivieri celebrating the Immemorial Mass of All Ages with his successor, Bishop Borghetti to the left.

(Genoa) Bishop Mario Oliveri conferred the Subdiaconate on one and a lower order on two traditional Benedictines of the Immaculate.

The fledgling order was founded in 2008 by two monks of the traditional Benedictine Abbey of Le Barroux as a Benedictine order of the strict observance. They had settled at the request of Bishop Oliveri in the diocese of Albenga-Imperia. Bishop Oliveri was the chief shepherd of this diocese from 1990-2016.

Exactly one year ago, on March 21, 2017, the Order of the Benedictines of the Immaculata was canonically recognized as an Order of Diocesan Right. Its charisms include ecclesiastical tradition, the traditional form of the RomanRite  and Benedictine spirituality.

March 21 is the Dies natalis, the day of the death of St. Benedict of Nursia. Yesterday, numerous clergy gathered at the Monastery of St. Catherine of Siena in Villatella, Liguria, to celebrate, together with the Benedictines of the Immaculate Conception, the day dedicated to the Order's founder and father of monasticism in the West. It was also a joyous feast for the young community because Bishop Oliveri conferee the Subdiaconate on two monks and another to a lower rank.

Also present was Msgr. Guglielmo Borghetti, the successor to Msgr. Oliveri as Diocesan Bishop.

The vocation ministry and the spiritual direction of the monastery under Prior P. Jehan de Belleville fall on fertile ground. He was the first companion who joined Dom Gerard Calvet, the founder of Le Barroux in 1970 when he retired to the mountains in 1969, loving as a hermit because of the New Rite, which had been introduced into the Benedictine order.

"The monastic and the liturgical faithfulness", says P. Jehan, are the "irrevocable" basis of the Benedictines of the Immaculate.

Mega-Charity Executive Caught Sexually Abusing Children

Edit: theses kinds of people have a lot in common morally, profeasionally and socially with Prelates like Bernardin, Weakland, Daneels. It’s high time people start noticing. Of course OXFAM is chock full of Marxists and fellow travelers.
NEW YORK, February 23 (C-Fam) Longtime UN consultant for children’s rights Peter Newell was convicted of sexually assaulting and sodomizing a child over the course of three years beginning in 1965. He was jailed last week and is serving a six-year sentence after pleading guilty.
Just as UNICEF is trying to contain the damage, its deputy executive director, Justin Forsyth, resigned yesterday when his history of sexual harassment came to light. The allegations were lodged during his previous role as chairman of the charity Save the Children UK. Forsyth previously worked at Oxfam for 15 years, the scandal-plagued charity which was caught opening brothels for aid workers in Haiti after the country’s devastating 2010 earthquake.
UNICEF told the Daily Mail they were “deeply shocked” when Newell was first charged in 2016. The 77-year-old man was known as an authority on children’s rights around the world. He led international efforts to emancipate children from parental authority and outlaw corporal punishment.

Islamists Invade and Desecrate Basilica of Saint-Denis

Le Pen criticizes the fact that the extreme left is willing - along with immigrants - to trample on Christian civilization and "desecrate a place of historical worship".

Around 80 people stormed the Basilica of Saint-Denis

(France) on Sunday in support of illegal immigrants and against the new bill that the government wants to promote.

The President of National Association (former National Front), Marine Le Pen, criticized that the extreme left, which is willing, in its immigration madness, "to trample our civilization and desecrate a place of historical worship." "Worthless," she added.

On the other hand, Nicolas Dupont, leader of the right-wing party Debout la France, called the occupation "scandalous" and in the same line denounced those responsible "with the shameful complicity of militants and elected representatives of the extreme left".

Macron wants to impose five years in prison for working without papers. Foreigners who cross a border at an unauthorized place, for example, could be sentenced to one year in jail and a fine of 3,750 euros. Despite this, he added that "zero immigration is not possible", firstly because a part of the foreigners that are hosted in the country are people who marry residents of France, students or asylum seekers.

Evil Cardinal Invites Speaker Promoting Sexual Disorder to Speak

Edit: what’s good for the goose is not good for the gander. In another show of disdain for the Church’s teaching, the evil Cardinal  of Chicago rolls out the red carpet for an evil Jesuit who promotes degeneracy. Meanwhile, a popular traditional priest has been shut down merely based on an unexamined accusation.

[NCR] When a door closes, God opens a window. Or in this case, a cardinal does.
So it goes for Jesuit Fr. James Martin, who, after a series of speaking appearances were canceled in recent weeks, received a fresh offer Friday from Cardinal Blase Cupich to address his Chicago archdiocese over two nights during the coming Lenten season.
NCR-Podcast-logo_web.jpg
This week, we celebrate the first anniversary of the launch of our podcast, NCR in Conversation. Catch the latest episode here.
The Windy City invite caps a turbulent week where Martin defended himself — as did two bishops and multiple Catholic commentators — against far-right Catholic groups that launched online campaigns seeking the best-selling author’s removal from talks due to disapproval with his recent book on LGBT Catholics. Those efforts most notably resulted in a withdrawn invitation from Theological College at the Catholic University of America for Martin to address its upcoming alumni gathering.
