Basilica of Saint Vincent Turned into Nightclub for Easter Sunday

Edit: very different rites were held this Easter at the Basilica of Saint Vincent in Metz, France. The ancient Gothic edifice dating back to the 14th century has been hijacked by a nightclub promoter for the purpose of turning it into a dance hall with the approval of Metz's current secular rulers.  Like goblins and imps, the youth and some not-so-youth of the city have misused these halls which were once the earthly home of God almighty, as a nightclub from 8am to 10pm.   The event's promoter, Irenaeus Sutter, pretends innocence and insists that he does not understand the negative reactions, which include about 20% of those hundreds who've contacted him so far via e-mai.

Some suggest that since this building has been deconsecrated that it may be used for profane and immoral purposes.  Naturally, we disagree.  It is unfortunate that there aren't apparently enough Catholics in Metz remaining to stop such sacrilegious acts.

Riposte Catholique is one of the first Catholic blogs to post on this that we know.

The French State controls and supports church properties, an unfortunate state of affairs in effect since 1905.  It's often been far from clear that French secularism appreciates the hallowed nature of these places and that even when effectively removed from regular use, still have the symbology of the Christian faith, which opportunists love to mock in the spirit of the age.

Continued in St. Paul: Church of St. John's Gutted and Handed Over to Muslims

Mehmet IV Entering Hagia Sofia 1453

Whether unarmed or well-equipped, march on and fight for the cause of Allah, with your wealth and your persons. - 9:41

Edit: we'd reported on this in early June of this year when it happened.  St. John's was a fairly conservative presence in the Archdiocese.  Now it will be turned into a Mosque, it's cross hacked off its spire, to be replaced by the hateful symbol of Mohamedism.

This is something which should send a chill over those of us who are Europeans, because this is one of those symbolic events that accompanied the Muslim conquest of our cities.

It's unclear what's happened to rererdos, the portion behind and around the altar, but some men from another parish have come to take away the volks altar (Cramner Table), the altar in front of the reredos, but the confessionals have already been thrown into a dumpster.

There are many photos

SSPX Benedictine Says Mass at Desolate 1,000 Year Old Monastery

Pius Benedictine Saying Mass at
Michealsberg Monastery
At the end of the thousand year history of the Benedictine Abbey on the Michealsberg there is yet another Old Mass being said for which the old monastery had been built in the first place.

(, Siegburg)  On May 25th the SSPX Benedictine Bernhard Huber said the levitical High Mass in the Abbey Church of St. Michealsberg in Siegburg.

The 40,000 population city of Siegburg is some 35 km south east of Cologne.

The local Benedictine Abbey has been closed after an almost 1,000 year history.  It will in the meantime be transformed into a hotel and serve as an Old Liberal adult miseducation.

The house full of glory is in desolation

Father Huber celebrated Mass at the Michealsberg as part of a pilgrimage with about 100 traditionalists from the surrounding area.

At the end of the Mass they sang the hymn "A house full of glory shines far over the land, from every stone built by God's mighty hand."

The text of this song was written by the poet and priest, Fr. Joseph Mohr (1848 +), at the moment he saw the now dissolved Abbey on the Michealsberg.

The Vatican is helping the Archdiocese of Cologne Hop

The Old Mass at the Michealsberg was clearly only possible after an intervention from the Vatican.

This is from a report at the German website of the SSPX ''.

Because in his sermon, Father Huber thanked the Vatican authorities for the permission to be allowed to celebrate the pilgrimage Mass.

It was not mentioned that tho authorities of the Archdiocese of Cologne were causing difficulties.
