Action Item: Ban Father Dwight Longenecker From the Internet

Edit: we tend to stay away from the Alinskyite tactics of your Patheos and established bloggers who love to launch hetz-campaigns against people, usually real Catholics, that make them feel bad or threaten their modernist safe spaces.

Father Dwight Longenecker is such a blogger.  Here he is on his Facebook account attacking Catholics for saying what is actually true, that Pope Bergoglio has not only "changed" Catholic doctrine, but actually admitted to changing doctrine. Longenecker portrayed people who believed what was actually true as paranoid, delusional, etc...

Longenecker stuck his neck out a few weeks ago when he libelously said that traditionalist (aka real) Catholics were prone to violence.  When Christopher Ferrara wrote an online and private request for Longenecker's retraction, apparently, Longenecker made a sarcastic apology.  Like a dog back to his vomit.

Why does EWTN hire such evil men to work for them?

We're not very hopeful, but requests for this priest's dismissal, punishment and the like can be made here. At the very least, we believe he should be banned from the internet like the blameless Father Altier was about 10 years ago when he opposed sex education in Catholic schools.

Fr. Longnecker is an arrogant dirtball but I don't think that most Catholics take him seriously or even know who he is. The man is lives in the enclosed, navel-gazing world of establishment, institutional American Catholicism that is bankrolled by advertisers and the USCCB. In a few years he won't even be a footnote worth remembering. He'll be plopped back in a parish and inflict the poor bulletin readers with his mouthy narcissism.

In the meantime, the traditional Cathollic movement continues to move forward and grow. Yes, it is a remnant but it is a remnant and factor that knows what it stands for and will not go away.

While most Catholics don't really care, the ones who Care tremendously and who are in for the long haul (and who by the way are not contracepting themselves out of existence) are the jolly ol' trads, who Fr. Longnecker might disdain, but who help him to keep his job (for now) by supplying most of the hits on his internet articles, and comments to keep people coming back and reading more!

(Whoops. Sorry, I forgot. Fr. Longnecker has the comments blocked on his articles.)

He seems to have a rather substantial following, and his posts on Facebook earn hundreds of comments from naive people.

I stand by what I said. In a few years people will see a picture of him (accidentally on a Google search) and say, "oh yeah I forgot about Fr. Corapi - but I remember him now."

So, are you going to un-link said Patheos persona from the sidebar? Or does the blogspot software do the links automatically?

Not an endorsement.

Dwight's major problem all along was and is self-loathing. He detests being a convert and being a hyphenated priest.
All this oppresses Dwight much more than what others think of him.

What really irks L is the dough being raked in by Z.

Somehow I doubt it.

What a load of foul mouthed, scandal mongering ordure, you commenters and the editor should be ashamed of these comments. But no, I'm fairly certain you'll simply dismiss me as some simple NO type who just doesn't get what Catholicism is really about, nor for whom Our Lord died and was resurrected. SHAME!

Artificial outrage.

I suggest Mr. Millward above take a tranquilizer and save his outrage for the heretics tearing the Church, his Mother apart, and all the acolytes who make their diabolical task possible by cowardly silence or white-washing. The SHAME is on you, Mr. Millward, and on your false "charity." RC

People are supposed to be ashamed of something, but what it is is never specified.

I bet he voted "Excommunicate Tancred from everything" in your recent poll

Anonymous said...

Ah my dear "Anonymous" how you do make my point for me! Such a shame that you lack sufficient courage in your convictions to denounce my "false" charity in your own name.

Anonymous said...

Far from it dear chap, I seldom comment and only ever under my own name, I find it acts as a natural constraint on the imprudent abuse I might otherwise be tempted to heap on manufacturers of ordure!

Tancred said...

You mean like engaging in Stalinist tactics like accusing those who tell the truth of being mentally ill?

Tancred said...

I'm still waiting for an explanation of the problem. I assume this is another sock puppet for Gaybriel.

Using my name or my initials (real ones, for privacy and for protection from the lunatics running around this wonderful, sick liberal society---like you), Mr. Millward, is hardly the issue. But your countenancing heresy and blasphemy and abusing those who defend Catholic orthodoxy is. Using a full name does not make you courageous; insulting and slandering those who defend perennial truth makes you a coward instead. Muster up some real courage and defend your Mother, the Church, presently being raped by the very monsters you defend. RC

Oh the Trads are triggered. They need a safe space where they will not have to hear opposing opinions. LOL

Tancred said...

No, it's a simple appeal to basic honesty. A Catholic priest should act like a Catholic priest when he claims to be a Catholic priest, representing Catholic media. Longenecker fails on many counts there.

"Triggered"; "Safe Space"---any other trite, low-information, cliched, empty phrases you learned in college (I'm sorry, I should say bad high schools passing for universities). Of course, it is as usual with the Left---moronic thinking and speaking posturing as deep thinking. What a bunch of frauds! Marius
