On this occasion, the Catholic Pontiff recalled the "suffering exclusion and real persecution" of many Christians around the world. He also reiterated his condemnation of "any form of anti-Semitism." The Pope expressed his "appreciation" for the work of the Simon Wiesenthal Center , "to combat all forms of racism, intolerance and anti-Semitism, to keep alive the memory of the Shoah, and to promote mutual understanding through education and social commitment".

It is applicable "above all" in order "to convey passion for the encounter with the other and get to know, through the promotion of an active and responsible involvement of our youth." The Pope also said: "I encourage you to continue the to value you in the joint effort to convey, to reject walls and build bridges between our cultures and faith traditions."

Four Meetings with Jewish Organizations in Four Months -  No to Anti-Semitism Four Times

In addition to a larger number of messages and letters to Jewish institutions it was the fourth meeting with senior Jewish officials within four months, in which Pope Francis issued a clear rejection of anti-Semitism and emphasized Catholic-Jewish friendship emphasized.

We kicked off the audience for the International Jewish Committee for Interreligious Consultatations (IJCIC) last June. At that time, the Pope described the Jews as "elder brothers" of Christians and said, "Because of our common roots, a Christian can not be an anti-Semite" He stressed the long friendship between Christians and Jews, and encouraged continuation on this path.

On the 2nd of September, Francis received the leadership of the World Jewish Congress (WJC) under the WJC President Ronald Lauder. The Pope reiterated his statements made in June and added, "To be a good Christian, it is necessary to understand Jewish tradition and history."

Francis recalls Catholics helping Jews during the War under the Direction of Pope Pius XII.

The "oldest" Jewish community in "Western Europe", had often experienced "misunderstanding and real injustices" in the past two thousand years. "But with God's help" we have made "friendly and brotherly relations for many decades," the Pope said. He recalls the help of many Catholics for the Jews during the Second World War and the fact that "many monasteries, institutes and papal basilicas at the request of the Pope" accepted Jews.

In this context, Pope Francis identified this as "grace, a grace because it was" that he could afford as Archbishop of Buenos Aires, a contribution to the "closeness and friendship" with the Jewish community.

It was shortly after his inauguration into office on March 22nd that a first meeting of the new pope with a Jewish delegation took place. Israeli President, Shimon Peres was the first head of state Pope Francis received in audience after his election. The meeting was held last April 30th.

Now here's some proper Catholic-Jewish dialogue: "We are unable to favor this [Zionist] movement. We cannot prevent the Jews from going to Jerusalem, but we could never sanction it. The ground of Jerusalem, if it were not always sacred, has been sanctified by the life of Jesus Christ. As the head of the Church, I cannot answer you otherwise. The Jews have not recognized Our Lord; therefore, we cannot recognize the Jewish people...If you come to Palestine and settle your people there, we will be ready with priests and churches to baptize all of you". ― Pope St. Pius X to Theodore Herzl.

Quite right! I thought it was amazing that he reminded them about Pius XII's sacrifices on their behalf and that Christians are suffering throughout the world as well. These are facts which often get left in the dark when Jewish pressure groups attempt to impose their will on Catholic institutions, individuals and cultures.

Would that the headline read, "Pope Francis meets 4 times in 4 months with Catholics who believe the perennial faith"...he loves Jews, and hates catholics who love Jesus...

May I say that I'm sick to death of it. I've been neglecting day to day Church News because I'm sick to death of fraudulent Jews and the frauds and crimes they perpetrate. Our Church is Judaized, our Government is Judaized. Israel is a criminal entity and is responsible for wars, mayhem,
murder lies ,and varieties of evil. They have American men and boys die for Israel. They want America to keep killing middle eastern people. They are not good people thus not holy people. I don't go along with the big lie and cannot abide people who do. It's an uneasy thing to watch our Popes in public engagements with them. They should only be granted private audience and some worthwhile discussions should take place otherwise it's without merit. So of course the Pope is scheduled for the obligatory visit to Israel and a little planned tour by the Israeli apartheid
handlers while my Palestinian Christian friend said Please Papa come to Palestine. We want you to come. Non-Jew hearts are breaking everywhere.

Of course, one can never be obsequious enough for them.

Nobody persecutes Christians or spreads hate against Christians more than the damn Jews. They only want one thing from a non-Jew. Worship. To Hell with them.

What they want from Christians is money and death. Death of their sons and daughters and most od\f all the final death of Christians' Lord and Saviour. Most especially Catholic Christians. This has never changed. As a rabbi said to wipe the name of Jesus from memory. A rabbi, In fact rabbi's all I would venture and on reams and scrolls of evidence.

Indeed. They have achieved their aim to insinuate themselves everywhere in everything that has a payoff in what is of value to them, for them and only them. They were warned and We were warned, so be it.

I'm glad that the Pope reminded them of His Holiness Pius XII's Godly work and Christians suffering and being murdered just because they are Christian. I hope. he meant time to shut up with all your complaining and guilt tripping the Catholic Church and the whole world. What makes you so special?
