"Every Christian is Spiritually a Vendéan" -- Cardinal Sarah on the "Inner Rebellion" against the "Columns of Hell"

Cardinal Sarah at the Grave of Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort,
who was born in Bretagne, but died in the Vend
ée and is buried there.
(Paris) An extraordinary and prophetic sermon was given by Robert Cardinal Sarah, Prefect of the Roman Congregation of Divine Worship and the Order of the Sacraments, in Saint Laurent sur Sèvres in the Vendée. The occasion was the opening of the 700th anniversary of the Diocese of Luçon.
The Catholic and Royalist population of this French landscape and its surroundings rose up from 1793 to 1796 in an insurrection against the anti-Christ and anti-royalist programs of the French Revolution. Their insurrection was cruelly suppressed by the revolutionaries in the name of "freedom, equality, brotherhood." The cruelty of the Revolutionary Government and its "hell columns," as the revolutionary groups were called, which precipitated the uprising in the Vendée, caused about 200,000 deaths by systematically burning entire villages and killing the population. Today, the extermination policy of the revolution is sometimes referred to as genocide (genocide) and "populicide" (popular murder).
The Cardinal will be in the Vendée until 15 August, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary.

The full text of the sermon:

Dear Brothers in the Lord!

We Christians need the spirit of the inhabitants of the Vendée! We need such an example! As we have to leave our sowing, our harvest, the furrows drawn by our plows, to fight - not for the defense of human interests, but for God!

Cardinal Sarah preached on the 12th of August in the Vendée
Cardinal Sarah preached on the 12th of August in the Vendée

So who will stand up for God today? Who will dare to face the modern persecutors of the Church? Who will have the courage to rise, unarmed, only with the Rosary and the Sacred Heart, to meet the columns of death of our days, the relativism, the indifference and the contempt of God? Who will tell this world that the only truth worth dying for is freedom to believe?
Brothers, as once our brethren of the Vendée, today we have been called to confession, that is, to martyrdom!
Today, our Christian brothers in the Middle East, in Pakistan, in Africa, die for their faith, destroyed by the columns of the Islamic persecution. Therefore, you, people of France, you, people of the Vendée, when will you take up the peaceful weapons of prayer and love to defend your faith?
Dear friends, the blood of the martyrs flows in your veins. Be faithful to it!
We are all mentally sons of the martyrs of the Vendée! Also we Africans, we who have received many missionaries from the Vendée, who came to proclaim us Christ and to die with us! We must remain faithful to their heritage!
In this place the spirit of these martyrs surrounds us. What do they tell us? What are they going to give us?
First and foremost their courage! When it comes to God, no compromise is possible! The glory of God is not for discussion! This has to start with our personal life, our prayer life and our worship.
Brothers, it is time to rise up against the real existential atheism that stifles our lives. If we pray in the family, we place God in the first place! A family who prays is a family that lives! A Christian who does not pray, who leaves no space for God by silence and worship, dies!
From the example of the Vendée, we also learn the love of the priesthood. Because their "good shepherds" were threatened, they rose. Your children, when they see the faithful example of your ancestors, love their priests, love the priesthood!
You must ask: Have I also been called to be a priest in the succession of these good priests who have suffered martyrdom by the revolution? Would I have the courage to give life entirely to Christ and to my brethren?
The martyrs of the Vendée also teach us the forgiveness and mercy. Despite persecution and hatred, they have preserved in their hearts the concern for peace and forgiveness. Remember, commander Bonchamps 1) had given 5,000 prisoners given the freedom in 1793 a few minutes before he died. We should counteract hatred without resentment and without animosity. We are to be armed with the heart of Jesus, and like this we shall be full of meekness.
Finally, we also learn the generosity and selflessness of the martyrs of the Vendée.
Your ancestors did not themselves fight for their own interests. They had nothing to gain. Today they teach us true humanity. We live in a world dominated by the dictatorship of money, interests and wealth. The joy of selflessness is everywhere despised and mocked. Nevertheless, only the generous love and the unselfish surrender of one's own life can defeat the hatred of God and of men, the origin of every revolution. The inhabitants of the Vendée have taught us to resist all these revolutions. They have shown us that there is only one answer to the colonialists, the National Socialist extermination camps, the Communist Gulag, the Islamic barbarism: the complete self-giving of one's own life. Only love defeats the powers of death!
Today again, perhaps today more than ever before, the revolutionary ideologues want to destroy the natural place of self-giving, joyous generosity and love - I mean the family!
Gender ideology, contempt for fertility and loyalty are the new guiding principles of the revolution. The families have become many Vendées, which are to be exterminated. It is planned to systematically wipe them out as they once did against the Vendée.
These new revolutionaries are annoyed by the selflessness families with children. They laugh at the Christian families because they embody everything they hate. They are ready to send their columns of hell against Africa to put the family under pressure and impose on it sterilization, abortion and contraception.
Africa will resist like the Vendée!
Everywhere: Christian families must be a joyous avant-garde of an insurrection against this new dictatorship of egoism!
Now, in the heart of every family, every Christian, every person of good will has to raise an inner Vendée! Every Christian is mentally a Vendéan! Let us not allow the unselfish and generous devotion to be stifled in us. Let us also learn how the martyrs of the Vendée, to draw this gift from their source: the heart of Jesus. Let us ask that a powerful and joyful inner Vendée rise in the Church and in the world.
Amen!

What a splendid man, this Cardinal Sarah! And they chose the clown from Argentina pope instead. No wonder the great Father Ronald Knox said once that those traveling on the Barque of Peter should not go often down to the engine room. Lucy

And Knox would probably advise against using the toxic language of Mundabor in attacking the person of the Pope.

Tancred said...

It's not that I care much about what you have to say, but tell me, exactly what does Mundabor have to do with the above post, apart from you nursing some grievance or other from what I guess is a deserved humiliation he no doubt handed you?

@Tancred
Be easy on Jim P., for he is scandalized (as many Catholics are), by the toxic language of Mundabor, and other bloggers, also by the comments of many poisoned hearts of confused Catholics.
Are we NOT our brother’s keepers?

May God bless Cardinal Sarah, for it is a high for these Cardinals to repent for being silent, because of fear of men, rather then God........high time to defend God’s Holy Church, and His Truth!!!

High time to gather the scattered sheep, for legions have been lost.......Miserere!

How about praying for love and peace amongst us Catholics? The division is very visible, and most offensive to God......

“I pray for them. I pray not for the world, but for them whom Thou hast given Me, because they are Thine......And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to Thee. Holy father, keep them in Thy name whom thou hast given me; that they may be one, as We also are.”
(St. John 17:9, 11).

Our Lady of Fatima pray for us Catholics, lest many will perish! (God forbid!).

O God in your mercy please hasten the abdication of Francis and please in your mercy touch the hearts and minds and souls of the College of Cardinals through Your Holy Spirit to elect Cardinal Sarah to the Throne of Peter.
In the Name of our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and with the intercession of His Blessed Mother and Her Most Worthy Spouse St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church.
Amen.

An excellent reading on Vendee....
"For Altar and Throne the Rising in the Vendee" by Michael Davies.

"Between two hundred fifty thousand and three hundred thousand Vendeans died.......Not all the Vendeans who died were killed in the fighting or the massacres. Thousands died as a result of the hardship, penury and epidemics resulting from the war.
It was Napoleon himself who had described the Vandees as 'giants.' They were giants who saved the honour of Catholic France. They were giants whose enormous sacrifices show the extent to which every Catholic should go to uphold his Faith....to the very limit and beyond. They were giants who realized that the only victory that matters is that of doing what we know to be right, cost what it may.
The last words of Bonchamps summarize the spirit that animated the giants of the Vendee, and they should inspire every Catholic who loves the Faith to emulate him:
"I have not fought for human glory. I have not succeeded in restoring the altars and the throne, but I have at least defended them!"

A Vendean hymn:
We have only one honour in the world,
It is the honour of Our Lord,
We have only one glory in the world,
It is the glory of Our Lord.

(Their pledge)..."Dieu Le Roi!" "For God and King"

Cor Jesu, justitiae et amoris receptaculum, Miserere nobis!

Mundabor is one of the finest warriors on the front line (along with Tancred; if only the latter would again delete the moron spiritual antifa types spoiling for fights), and is doing more to open eyes to the horror of the demonic actions of bergoglio and his henchman than you will ever do with your multiple fits of the vapor.

Your defense of the odious feybriel (in his psycho iteration of Lim P this time...tune in, it'll be 'Shirley G' in a few minutes hen he flames reason once again), is HEINOUS.

GROW. UP.

"Mes amis! Si j'avance, suivez-moi! Si je recule, tuez-moi! Si je meurs, vengez-moi!" - Généralissime Henri, Comte de La Rochejacquelin.

("My friends! If I advance, follow me! If I recoil, kill me! If I die, avenge me!")

Henri de La Rochejacquelin was but twenty years old when he became Généralissime of the Catholic and Royal Army, and was 21 when he fell in battle. May this young noble intercede for the Catholics on earth, that they may be intrepid in their zeal for the cause of His Divine Majesty, Our Lord Jesus Christ.

When a Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church AD 2017 mentions the Vendée in a sermon, that fact alone should draw our attention. It seems to indicate that something is going on in the heart of this prelate, something which could potentially develop and flourish into some great blessing for the Church. Catholics should pray for him, and encourage him to become a crown prince of the Counter-Revolution.

I don't wish to enter into the Mundabor debate.
However, I do challenge your statement, "How about praying for love and peace amongst us Catholics? The division is very visible, and most offensive to God".
Have you thought about who caused this division. Faithful Catholics HAVE NOT CAUSED IT. Its been caused by CINO's (clergy, religious and laity) who have been running the show since VII. They practically divided from the constant teachings and traditions of the church and they are the ones who are persecuting the faithful ones. I cannot pray for unity but only for their conversion OR reversion. Other than that it would be a false unity. Like the peace accord drawn up by Chamberlain with Hitler, it was a false peace and was made to make everyone feel good and at ease, well that can't happen in the church, although the forfeit church has turned into the church of nice.
I bid you peace and enlightment.

@Luciano......Have you thought about who caused this division. Faithful Catholics HAVE NOT CAUSED IT.

....if you happen to be the ‘faithful’....keep calm. From the beginning of time, men has declared a war against God. Let us not exaggerate our own worth .....Trust God, have confidence, for nothing happens without His Holy Will.....for God draws good from evil. While wickedness is walking happily with head held high and trampling His Truth down, we must NOT let ourselves be shaken, nor swept by the whims of the times. Playing in the sandbox with Satan and his hirelings, has never been for the good of Catholics.

‘Unity’ of the faithful, with the Rosary in their hands....on their knees....is a holy weapon against His enemies, which are legions.
We are being sifted and tried like gold in the fire, as the faithful have been in every age. Discern, but do not sin.

Bishop Fulton Sheen: “The church is not a continuous phenomenon through history. Rather, it is something that has been through a thousand resurrections after a thousand crucifixions. The bell is always sounding for its execution which, by some great power of God, is everlastingly postponed.”

The saints were people who were faithful perseveringly faithful to the will of God......with God a man is nothing if he is not a saint.

“Blessed, rather, are those who hear the word of God and obey it” (St. Luke 11:28)

I have no idea what "Mundabor" is---but I do know what a heretic and a clown are: and Francis is both. No, nothing in authentic Catholicism precludes even harsh (if deserved) criticism of the pope in proportion to the harm he may be causing. In the case of Francis that proportion is of daily occurrence and truly "toxic" (to use your favorite word when trying to shut up the orthodox). In Papolatry---a fairly new religion different from Catholicism---criticism of the Dear Leader is of course verboten, as it is in North Korea, was in the Jim Jones Guiana horror, and in all cultish groups of the mindless. Susan is no example of a "toxic" anything, but a courageous Catholic woman whose price, in the words of Scripture, is "above rubies." May we have many more modern Joan of Arc types like her. Enough of the cowardice and conciliatory namby-pamby idiocy that tries to pass for charity. In war---and we are in the midst of one---charity acquires a different connotation and application. Witness the just wars waged against the many enemies of our holy religion in history. The false apostles of a conciliatory charity today would have handed Europe to the Muslim Turks (as Francis is trying to do today) long ago. Shame everlasting on you who use the great virtue of charity to shut up the defenders of truth.

It is truly repulsive to see the now-fashionable virtue signalling of the liberals on this blog. Sheer hypocrisy and grandstanding---that is what Ojcze above is doing. Nothing more odious than a self-righteous preacher of peace and love who also throws bombs of insults and provocation. Susan is quite right about his sanctimonious hypocrisy. RCC

Oh, the gravitas of Cardinal Sarah (not to speak of his kindness and orthodoxy) offers a stark contrast to the clownishness characteristic of Pope Francis---in what he says, in what he does, in how many outside the Church perceive him---witness the various cartoons of his person that have appeared on the cover of magazines over the past four years. The media whores adore him because he has the same agenda that they do---the destruction of Catholicism and the eradication of Christianity---but there are some intelligent, perceptive persons (not many, by my count) among the media whores and they can spot a clown when they see one. The point, "Jim P",is one of contrast, if only your self-inflicted blindness and fanaticism could allow you to see it.

The hubris here is staggering in its proportions as legitimate corrective comment is brushed aside as deviant while the dissemblance of foul mouthed hillbilly speaking shrieks like Susan get a free pass.
This kind of ghettoish and extremely sectarian culture leads nowhere but into deeper and deeper collective negativity, narcissism and despair. In case you haven't noticed, this is exactly what is happening to 'OnePeterFive' as it succumbs to de facto sede-vacantism and quickly collapses into itself. The same is happening to blogs like Ray Blake; Zuhlsdorf’s charade is imploding under the weight of its own cynical scam business model and similar stories abound. ‘The Flower’ is wilting fast.

Dream on, condescending heretic (notice the typical liberal snobbery about hillbillies). If anyone is declasse here it is you, with your cheap provocations and malevolent wishful thinking regarding the demise of Tradition. When you heretics, your ever-dwindling octogenarian nuns on buses, and your empty churches are rightly forgotten, our chapels, schools, seminaries and churches will be bursting at the seams with large families who love the beauty of the old faith and reject the pathetic caricature, in all its grotesque decadence, that is Modernist Religion. It is already happening! The despair is evident in your malevolent rants and insults---and rightly so, as you are on the side of devils.

Cardinal Robert Sarah (Sar-AH) from checking his background is quite a guy. He was elevated to cardinal by P. Benedict. His faith was incubated by the Holy Ghost Fathers. He studied at an early age in the Ivory Coast. He then returned to Guinea to take on the Marxist regime. He has similarities to Pope John Paul who found him in the rough and made him a bishop. He has advanced studies in both France and Rome.---Obviously, he is man made of sterner stuff than the current occupant of the highest office. May the good Lord watch over him and continue to nurture his holiness. Just as obviously, he is now a man with a target printed on his back.
