Vatican and the UN Organize Event With Leftist Mayors on Climate Change -- Rapprochement Continues

Curial Archbishop Sanchez Sorondo, Papal Confidant and
Architect of the Collaboration Between the
Catholic Church and the UNO
(Rome) on the 21st and 22nd of July, mayors from around the world meet at the Vatican to discuss the global climate and modern slavery. What sounds so politically correct, should be through and through. Initiator of the Mayor Meeting is the Argentine, Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, Curial Archbishop, the chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences . He was the organizer behind the eco-Encyclical Laudato Si who besides creating the contacts next to the dead letter, especially at the United Nations and the "high politics".
He organized ahead of the encyclical, the concept of an international workshop of "climate change and sustainable development" in the Vatican. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will give the opening speech. The keynote speaker will be his right hand, the UNSDNS Director Jeffrey Sachs (UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network). Thus, not only will the representatives who believe in  manmade global warming will gather in the Vatican, but also the neo-Malthusians.  Not only that, but climate skeptics were systematically removed from the registration list. The Vatican has been (see the promoters of a guided, one-sided meeting in accordance with the UN World Warming thesis  Climate skeptics Excluded From  Vatican Meeting - Other Opinions Undesirable ).

60 Mayors from Around the World Meeting in the Vatican - are "Exclusively" of the Left

The end of May  Sanchez Sorondo gave an inglorious interview in which he meant to identify the causes for the global children's killings by abortion and climate change (see Abortion and Climate Change: In the Vatican someone was persuaded of great nonsense ). The Curial Archbishop has since been an architect of the approach of the Catholic Church to the UN agenda. It's an initiative  that he can develop only with the necessary backing from the highest level.
Sanchez Sorondo's next step will be to bring 60 mayors from around the world to the Vatican  next week. The cross-section is impressive, and the political positioning of the mayors rather "colorful". Coming will be  the leftist Catholic Mayor of Rome, Ignazio Marino; the communist mayor of Milan, Giuliano Pisapia; the left-liberal mayor of Naples, Luigi De Magistris; the left-wing mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena (from the beginning of her judicial career a member of the Communist Party of Spain, then without a party, the 2015 top candidate of an electoral alliance between the Socialists and the radical left movement,  Podemos); the feminist, Socialist Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris.

Abortion and Homosexualization not an issue -  Climate Change and New Slavery Instead

Sanchez Sorondo between UN General Ban Ki-moon and Pope Francis
The previously mentioned reveal a political flip side, at least the preference of the parties and their representatives on the left of center are without fear of contacting   the extreme left. That these leftists are fighting for abortion as a "human right" and the unconditional legalization of "gay marriage," apparently it does not bother the Vatican. Rather, it is operating by the new closing ranks, as Sanchez Sorondo reaffirmed in an interview and by the climate change agenda.
The invitation of the Mayor of Lampedusa, Giusi Nicolini,   seems more to serve a media-compatible appearance. Under Pope Francis it was already apparent since the  then inconspicuous Bishop of Agrigento, was raised to Cardinal because Lampedusa is in his diocese. Since the apple does not fall far from the tree, Nicolini is included, who received the mayor's office with 26 percent of the vote, and who belongs to the appropriate political spectrum. She was supported "by a member of the Left Democrats and the little that there is in civil society on the island," said the leftist daily Il Fatto Quotidiano in the arrogant tone of the Jacobins.

Symposium in Cooperation with the UN - Opening Speaker: the Neo-Malthusians Jeffrey Sachs

Sole representative of the German-speaking countries is the Social Democrat Christian Gaebler be who will represent Berlin. Gaebler is, since 2011, Secretary of State for Urban Development and Environment in Berlin and a member of the SPD left wing.
On July 21, they will gather for the conference "Modern Slavery and Climate Change: The Commitment of the Cities", in which Pope Francis is to participate and speak words of greeting. Thus, there are apparently  two "interconnected emergencies" to be  discussed, "the world's climate and the new forms of slavery". On July 22, the mayors will participate, also  in the Vatican, in the symposium "Prosperity, People and Planet: Achieving Sustainable Development in Our Cities," which will take place in cooperation with the UN. The opening speech of the symposium will be given by  the aforementioned neo-Malthusian Jeffrey Sachs, who it befalls since he is a member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.

"The UN is not the Devil, but the Opposite" - Unilateral Invitations

Session on the new forms of slavery
"The United Nations is not the devil, but the opposite," said Sanchez Sorondo to a journalist's question, whether it was not strange that the Vatican was harboring a UN event. "The symposium is not organized by the UN, but by the Pontifical Academies and the UN," said the Archbishop. He meant the two academies, whose chancellor he is. Already Paul VI. has visited the United Nations in New York goes the justification of the Pope's confidant. "In September, Pope Francis will visit them. I do not see where there should be a problem. In the United Nations to recognize the devil, is position typical of   the right, that is not the position of the Holy See. The united left gathered in the Vatican  would all be  happy with this statement.
On the question of other journalists, whether the "exclusive presence of mayors of the left of   center is not a sign of partiality," Sanchez Sorondo answered mockingly: "The invitation is open to everyone, if you bring us another mayor, we are grateful. We have no reservations."  The one-sided color preference of the loaded mayor guest list suggests the opposite. It should rather have been a selective contact  including invitation.

Group Santa Marta

Symposium in cooperation with the UN on climate change
Sanchez Sorondo founded the two events with  "urgency". This is, says the   Archbishop, also so the "Group Santa Marta" was emphasized. As the Argentine explained it is the closest familiar circle of Pope Francis, one of the groups formed from the Pontifical Academy of Sciences   by the Pope and Cardinal Nichols two years ago, which includes  police chiefs and bishops belong from around the world and maintain an exchange of views. "We followed their advice, and tried also to gather the mayors together to find a better approach to mitigate climate change and to eliminate new forms of slavery" says Sanchez Sorondo.
The discussion on the 21st and 22nd of July will be held on the basis of the Pope's address to the "social movements" in Bolivia and the eco-Encyclical Laudato Si. Sanchez Sorondo explicitly praised Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi, "who is a  Jesuit as Pope Bergoglio is."  The Argentinian said: "If you want to understand Pope Francis or Father Lombardi, then check out the movie The Mission on  the Jesuit Reductions in Latin America."
On the new slavery the Archbishop said: "We want the mayor to work to put the abuse, exploitation, trafficking in human beings within their towns to an end" and "we want just that using the Mayor for programs for social to develop integration of the victims at national and local level in order to avoid deportation or expulsion to their countries of origin ".

Do you think that possibly one day the Vatican will get back to the governance of the holy Church and the care of souls?

Steve said...

The Holy See governs the Church and cares for souls 24/7, 365. It seems that His Holiness Pope Francis daily exhorts the Faithful to go to flee Satan, go to Confession, and reform their lives.

The Faithful have received countless exhortations from Pope Francis to study the Catechism of the Catholic Church, go to Mass, turn to the Holy Family as our great role model, pray the Holy Rosary, invoke the Saints, work against sodomite "marriage", and keep Sunday holy.

Did you read the Pope's recent Encyclical? His Holiness devoted a section to keeping Sunday holy.

The Encyclical exhorts the Faithful to plan each Sunday around the Holy Eucharist. The section in question exhorts us to practice spiritual exercises each Sunday.

In the Encyclical, Pope Francis exhorted us to spend time at rest each Sunday. Finally, he desires that we practice proper holy and joyful activities each Sundays...holy activities with family and friends.

Oh...and the Pope's recent Encyclical urged Catholics to develop devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph.

Have you read the texts of Pope Francis' Wednesday General Audiences...during the past few months in particular? You will find scores of traditional teachings in regard to how Catholics should form their families and practice family life.

Please consider the following: Try to get your (Catholic) relatives and friends to read the section in Pope Francis' recent Encyclical that pertains to the keeping of Sunday holy.

As Pope Francis made clear, it's imperative that Catholics restore Sunday to its proper place in God's plan for us. As Pope Francis has taught, Catholics must reestablish Sunday as day that is centered around the Eucharist.

From there, as Pope Francis said, everything else will then fall into holy and proper place within the life of each Catholic...not just on Sunday, but each day.

Steve, can you cite some exhortations of Pope Francis where he tells us to work against sodomite "marriage"? To be clear, I'm asking for exhortations from since he was elected Pope, not when he was Cardinal Bergoglio. Thank you.

During his February 4, 2015 A.D. Wednesday General Audience, His Holiness Pope Francis exhorted Catholics to continue their work in opposition to homosexual "marriage" as well as the adoption of children by homosexuals.

The General Audience in question included a group of pilgrims from Alliance of the Family, who hail from Slovakia.

Pope Francis declared to said group:

"I greet the pilgrims from Slovakia and, through them, I wish to express my appreciation to the entire Slovak church, encouraging everyone to continue their efforts in defense of the family, the vital cell of society."

Homosexuals, of course, reacted negatively to the Pope's endorsement of the Catholic pilgrims from Alliance of the Family.

The Advocate, America's oldest and largest pro-LGTB publication, reported the following:

Pope Has Kind Words for Backers of Anti-Equality Measures in Slovakia

BY Trudy Ring
February 05 2015 8:40 PM ET

"In a move that disappointed LGBT Catholics, Pope Francis this week praised those backing ballot measures in Slovakia that would not only ban same-sex marriage but also prohibit same-sex couples from adopting and allow parents to withdraw their children from sex education classes.

"The pope made the statement Wednesday as pilgrims from Slovakia, a heavily Roman Catholic country, visited the Vatican, BuzzFeed reports.

“I greet the pilgrims from Slovakia and, through them, I wish to express my appreciation to the entire Slovak church, encouraging everyone to continue their efforts in defense of the family, the vital cell of society,” he told the audience.

"Also, Slovakian LGBT activists told the site that an antigay U.S. group, Alliance Defending Freedom, has encouraged opposition to gay rights in the nation.

"American Catholic advocates for LGBT equality expressed disappointment with the pope’s endorsement of the ballot questions.

“Pope Francis has made some amazing gestures of openness and welcome to LGBT people, but a statement like this shows that he still has a lot to learn,” Francis DeBernardo, executive director of New Ways Ministry, told The Advocate.

“It’s pretty clear that since the synod on the family last fall … the Catholic right has really gotten to the Vatican and to Pope Francis,” said Marianne Duddy-Burke, executive director of DignityUSA, in an Advocate interview. “It’s really crushing to a lot of people who were hoping to see policy change.”

Anthony, His Holiness Pope Francis visited the Philippines earlier this year. During said visit, you will find in his sermons and addresses exhortations from Pope Francis to oppose "powerful forces", which includes pro-homosexual groups and individuals, who seek to redefine and "disfigure" marriage.

His Holiness Pope Francis has time and again has declared that marriage exists only between a man and woman.

Manila, Philippines, Jan 16, 2015 — Remarking on Pope Francis' strong words against the threats which “ideological colonization” poses to the family, the Vatican's spokesman told journalists Friday that same-sex marriage falls within this category.

In an address to more than 1,000 Filipino families in Manila on Jan. 16, Pope Francis decried the “new ideological colonization that tries to destroy the family.”

The Pope also warned against increasing efforts “to redefine the very institution of marriage, by relativism, by the culture of the ephemeral, by a lack of openness to life.”

The Holy Father made similar statements in defense of marriage earlier in the day, as he said Mass in Manila's cathedral: “Proclaim the beauty and truth of the Christian message to a society which is tempted by confusing presentations of sexuality, marriage and the family.”

He then warned the faithful against “powerful forces which threaten to disfigure God’s plan for creation and betray the very values which have inspired and shaped all that is best in your culture.”

During a press briefing later that evening the head of the Holy See press office, Fr. Federico Lombardi, confirmed to journalists that this “colonization” of which Pope Francis spoke refers in part to gay marriage.

His Holiness Pope Francis has time and again proclaimed that marriage exists only between a man and woman.

I guess it's nice if you cherry pick and take them out of context, but this Pope has a habit of gainsaying the good things he says by ill-considered statements at other times, and of course, his public approbation for dissident clergy who are probably themselves unapologetic sexual deviants.

And yet, the Pope has said nothing about the gay marriage decision in the US. He is too scared to say anything. His status in the media would fall, and at all costs, he must protect his status in the media

Steve said...

When it comes to the Church's teaching that marriage exists between a man and woman only, there isn't anything to "cherry pick" when it comes to Pope Francis.

Time and again His Holiness Pope Francis has defended and promoted the Church's teaching that God permits only a man and woman to join in Holy Matrimony.

For several months now, Pope Francis' Wednesday General Audiences have been devoted to the Church's teachings on family.

Said General Audiences contain a wealth of Catholic teachings that pertain to marriage.

Pope Francis has emphasized repeatedly that a marriage can exist only between a man and woman.

Time and again Pope Francis promoted Catholic teachings on marriage and the family.

Pope Francis has promoted strongly Humane Vitae and the Church's pro-life teachings.

It is sad that Pope Francis has issued thousands of words on the defense of family, marriage and life that have gone almost unreported by the Catholic news media and the Catholic Blogosphere.

It is the news media and many Catholic bloggers who have cherry-picked Pope Francis' declarations.

Thank you, Anthony.

Anthony, here is a beautiful address on the nature of marriage that His Holiness Pope Francis delivered on May 6, 2015 A,D., during a Wednesday General Audience.

During the first three paragraphs of said address, Pope Francis promoted the Church's ancient teaching that Holy Matrimony is akin to the love/marriage that Jesus Christ enjoys with Holy Mother Church.

Pope Francis made it clear that marriage on earth is between a man and woman...akin to the Heavenly marriage between Jesus (male) and His Holy Bride (the woman...Holy Mother Church).

Pope Francis promoted the beautiful Catholic teaching that just as Jesus Christ, a male, is married to Holy Mother Church, a woman, that same image applies to Holy Matrimony on earth.

Only a man and woman can form a marriage, as Pope Francis made clear in his Wednesday General Audience.
