The Brother Nathaniel narrative is the Jewish music man who comes into town to sell us on starting a band. He goes after “coookie cutter” people who don’t share his ideological and cultural predilections for schmalz and Talmudic Palamism.
I’m hard-pressed where his authority comes from or what his status is in monastic life.
I really don’t expect much from someone who regards Tolstoi as a chief spiritual inspiration.

He keeps going on about the “modernism” in certain parts of ROCOR and then recommends an OCA monastery in California. I was shocked he didn’t recommend New Skete. There are lots of aberrosexual-sounding men in New Skete.
This statement says that the robed lunatic is definitely not in good standing with ROCOR and that he is not even a monk and never has been. He's a fraud and an opportunist using religious cover to gain credibility to his deranged ideology.
