European Bishops Call for Eucharistic Adoration

[CNSCatholic bishops have called for “Eucharistic adoration in every church in Europe” to pray for peace in Ukraine on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross this week.

The Council of European Bishops’ Conferences (CCEE) has launched the initiative, urging Catholics across Europe to gather on Sept. 14 “on their knees in front of the Blessed Sacrament to pray that the Lord will grant peace to Ukraine.”

The prayer initiative was inspired by Roman Catholic bishops in Ukraine, who declared 2022 to be the Year of the Holy Cross for Ukrainian Catholics.

Millions loyal to the British monarchy have sung for decades, "God save our gracious Queen...'
God didn't save their gracious Queen so why should Jesus in a monstrance stop that war in the Ukraine.
I think God stopped all this interventionist stuff a very long time ago.

Why not peace in Lebanon, or Syria?
Why not peace and justice for family and life activists? Because the request is political. The article says "Roman Catholic" bishops in Ukraine made that request. Not too many Roman Catholic bishops left in Ukraine after the Ukrainian nationalist UPA terrorists wiped out a large part of the Polish population in the 1940s. More likely the article refers to Greek Catholic bishops, and not Roman Catholic bishops as making this request.
