Wildcat strike at low frills carrier?

If you've ever had the misfortune of riding on this airline, you got herded into the plane like cattle.   I don't think chartering a private jet is an option for these travelers.  What's going on here?   Their employees are well compensated and they've never experienced a work action, legal or illegal.  These pilots and co-pilots have their health scrutinized twice a year.   No pilot with a valid medical certificate has died of Covid.   The same can't be said of those who took the jab.

  1. Interesting story. The photo is misleading. They are not picketing and those are Aligiant pilots.

  2. Many pilots are concerned that Teh Vaxx COULD end their career, given the variety of serious conditions that seem to follow that jab around.

  3. Of all of the airlines that are capable of stopping this mandate, Southwest has the best chance because they are a stand alone airline. If you buy a ticket on Southwest Airlines, you're flying on Southwest Airlines. With most major airlines, 50% of the flying is done by subcontractors like:
    Air Wisconsin
    CommutAir
    GoJet Airlines
    Mesa Airlines
    Republic Airways
    SkyWest Airlines
    Envoy Air
    Piedmont Airlines
    PSA Airlines
    Horizon Air
    Endeavor Air.

That blunts the effect of any work action because the traveling public doesn't have a clue who they're riding on. Remember several years ago when that aberosexual doctor was dragged off a United flight at O'Hare? Turns out, the flight was operated by Republic Airways a company that does flights as United Express, American Eagle, and Delta Connection. UAL management apologized profusely because revealing that they subcontract 50% of their domestic flights is even more scandalous. Republic Airlines had a contract with UAL for that flight. The passenger had no such contract with Republic. He ignorantly said: "I'll sue United"

I would not go so far as to call it "scandalous". So what if some of their work is subcontracted.
    Learn how Capitalism operates.
Businesses are in business to make a profit. That is not sinful or immoral.

It is only scandalous because the mainline carriers don't want their passengers to know about it. These subcontractors paint their planes to look like mainline aircraft and they are careful that the coffee cups that they give out match the tickets of the passengers on board. Eg: A Republic flight can not dispense coffee in a United cup if they're operating a Delta Connection flight.

Then there's the liability issue. When Continental Connection flight 3407 crashed in Buffalo, family members of those who died thought they'd be able to sue Continental. In reality, the only company that could legally be sued was the near bankrupt Colgan Air. That's how capitalism works. https://tinyurl.com/mt9wbv66

If the plane gets me from point A to point B, in one piece, I do not care what the coffee cups say. And I would not be scandalized.

Colgan Air might have been near Bankruptcy, but all carriers carry liability insurance with private companies. They would have covered the settlements.
The Insurance company would then have forced Colgan into bankruptcy, taken their remaining assets and made them go out of business.

True, it is not a perfect system, but what is your alternative?

You're having a hard time grasping the concept here. Suppose you bought a Ferrari. You lift the hood to admire the engine but notice that the name Ferrari is just a sticker. You peal it back and find the name FIAT underneath. After driving the exotic car for a few weeks, the engine catches on fire and is ruined. Your car is under warranty so you call Ferrari and say: Hey your engine blew up on me. Ferrari then says, oh that engine isn't ours, we subcontracted it. You need to call FIAT. You call FIAT but they're in bankruptcy.

The families of the people who died in the Colgan crash thought they had a case with Continental because they bought tickets on Continental, boarded a plane painted to look like Continental, and they were served coffee in cups that had the Continental logo. They may not have ever heard the name Colgan.

Have you ever head someone say they flew on:
    Air Wisconsin
    CommutAir
    GoJet Airlines
    Mesa Airlines
    Republic Airways
    SkyWest Airlines
    Envoy Air
    Piedmont Airlines
    PSA Airlines
    Horizon Air
    Endeavor Air
    ?????
