Vatican Places Traditional Society Under Commissar

The Vatican is putting the Society of the Fraternity of Familia Christi under a Commissar

(Rome) Rome is subordinating another traditional community to a Commissar, for disturbing the new Archbishop of Ferrara and daring to accept the Brothers of the Franciscans of the Immaculate, also under the temporary administration. Will Archbishop Perego of Ferrara erase the legacy of his predecessor, Archbishop Luigi Negri?

Decree of the commissioner's appointment

The Roman Congregation of the Faith has placed the Fraternity of the Familia Christi (FSFC) at the request of Archbishop Gian Carlo Perego, Archbishop of Ferrara, under provisional administration. The decree dated December 1 (Prot. No. 116/96 - ED) was signed by the Prefect of the Congregation of Doctrine for the Faith, Cardinal Luis Ladaria Ferrer SJ in his capacity as President of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei.

Ladaria appointed the Jesuit Msgr. Daniele Libanori, auxiliary bishop and episcopal vicar for the clergy of the Diocese of Rome, as the "authorized Commissioner" and delegate of the Holy See on the Fraternity of Familia Christi.

The Commissioner thus assumes the leadership of the fraternity. The appointment was ad nutum (until revoked) by the responsible Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei and by decree "with all powers and necessary responsibilities". As tasks are mentioned in the decree:

1. to take over the direction of the fraternity of Familia Christi during the time of the provisional administration

2. to clarify the truth of the elements and conclusions that have arisen through the canonical visitation of the aforementioned society of the apostolic life of diocesan right

3. to work with the Pontifical Commission to determine any future ways for the Fraternity of Familia Christi.

The decree does not say what these "elements and conclusions" are. Already last spring, however, there were voices that the young, traditional fraternity could become "the next victim of Pope Francis". It was speculated on a provisional administration because the Fraternity of Familia Christi had taken on members of the Order of the Franciscans of the Immaculate.

The Order of the Franciscans of the Immaculate Conception had been put under provisional administration a few months after the election of Pope Francis without mentioning reasons. The order was a traditional one, but was subordinate to the Congregation of Religious. Many members of the Order had initially requested the possibility of a new order, which should be subordinate to Ecclesia Dei. This was rejected by Rome as well as the release from religious vows. The now deceased first Commissioner threatened Italian bishops who would haves dared to accept Franciscans of theImmaculate  in their dioceses. A hate campaign was initiates in the media against one who had dared, Bishop Mario Oliveri of Albenga-Imperia, then he was disempowered by Pope Francis with a coadjutor and finally emeritus.

The same fate now applies to the priestly fraternity of Familia Christi.

Basilica of Santa Maria in Vado

Archbishop Luigi Negri's canonical construction of the priesthood was initiated in 2014, when he was Archbishop of Ferrara-Comacchio. It emerged from the lay association Familia Christi, which had already been founded in 1937. The Priestly Society is committed to tradition and is therefore subject, since appropriate recognition in 2016 by the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei. In Rome, it looks after the Church of the Holy Pope Anicetus in the Palazzo Altemps.

In 2014, Archbishop Negri was able to consecrate the first two priests and two deacons who emerged from the fraternity. Today, the youngest society counts six priests and seven seminarians.

Monsignor Negri entrusted the Brotherhood with pastoral care to the Basilica of Santa Maria in Vado. The Church is attested since the 10th century. In 1171, a Eucharistic miracle occurred there.

Archbishop Negri, a Miles Christi in the best sense of the word, had made more than friends with his faithfulness to unabridged doctrine and his clear words, whether on Islam and Islamization, whether on homosexuality or the admission of remarried divorced to the sacraments, outside, but also within the Church. Pope Benedict XVI. had made the bishop of a small diocese of San Marino into Archbishop of Ferrara. In 2016, Msgr. Negri preached tradition at the Pontifical Mass in the traditional rite in St. Peter's Basilica at the 4th International Pilgrimage Summorum Pontificum.

However, with the election of Pope Francis began a hunt against the archbishop. Although it did not succeed in chasing him out of office prematurely, although they intrigued with the dirtiest means against him  With the completion of his 75th year of life, he was, despite good health, immediately made an emeritus by Pope Francis.

Archbishop Negri 2014 with the new priests and deacons

He was replaced by Pope Francis with a so-called priest "from the margins" (Islam, immigration, remarried divorcees). Msgr. Gian Carlo Perego quickly showed that he was responsible for other positions than his predecessor. The unmistakable signal of the change of direction against tradition was the reversal of an altar in the cathedral of Ferrara in order to make it fit for the New Rite. Among other things, Archbishop Perego disturbed the Proesrly Fraternity of Familia Christi in his archdiocese and initiated a visitation Observers suspected little good, because the archbishop had already stated in advance that the report of the inspection would depend on "the future of the activities of the Brotherhood". After the visitation Perego sent a long list of complaints to Rome and withdrew, obviously the purpose of the exercise, the brotherhood into a “pastoral unit” in the basilica, which was incorporated since July 1, 2018.

The Priestly Fraternity was given the Church of Santa Chiara for the traditional rite, sharing it with the Community Communione e Liberazione (CL) and Orthodox.

Obviously, Archbishop Perego wants to remove the Society entirely from his diocese.

The zeal for extermination with which the current Church leadership persecutes the order of the Franciscans of theImmaculate  seems unprecedented. The same applies to bishops who are close to tradition.

I wonder if maybe one of the members of this traditional group spoke out somehow against the Pope. That might cause a retaliation.

It's interesting that Rome does not persecute the FSSP. They're traditional too. It's possible that the FSSP thoroughly behave themselves by not speaking out against the current Pope or Vatican ll.

The SSPX should take notice of this situation, and perhaps think twice about wanting to join up with conciliar Rome, which is in the habit of persecuting traditional groups. But of course the SSPX doesn't speak out much these days about the continual scandals that come from Rome and elsewhere.

Archbishop Lefebvre didn't receive a visitation from Rome to his seminary in Econe (in the 1970's) until he began to speak out against Vatican ll. He was of course unjustly suspended over that. There might be a pattern here.

Didn't the founder of the FFI (Fr. Manelli) begin to speak out against Vatican ll before he received a visitation? My memory is a bit hazy on that, so I could be wrong.

The SSPX some time ago realized that Bergoglio wasn't the Catholic Church and his toadies were not true representatives. They haven't talked "regularization" for more than a year. That's dead. In reality, it would be wise for those who are looking for an alternative to the heretical, communist sect of Bergoglio et al to admit Archbishop Lefebvre and others were right all along. It is they who took the road straight ahead instead of branching off from the Church into apostasy. It's only a matter of time until the modernists go after the FSSP, perhaps by changing the traditional rite itself. I look heavenward and thank Almighty God for Archbishop Lefebvre every Sunday while attending the most beautiful thing next to heaven, the Mass for all Ages. What so many are trying to "save" is a new sect...with Satan's representatives merely occupying traditional Catholic real estate.

They cannot be a fringe. They betoken the properties of mainstream convential, dare I say classic Catholicism, practiced unceasingly for over two thousand years. All of this Vatican supression of orders without evidence or clear reasons is pure politics; it makes the Pope look like a tyrannical Henry VIII, and Henry VII look like a good pope in comparison to Francis.

Many of these tiny groups form around a core group of Catholics with specific needs and aspirations. In the case of the Fraternity, it could be that it could be that the big picture has become clearer and that it indicates that the prospects for growth in local vocations is unlikely to improve. This would signal drastic limits on their long term viability both numbers wise and financially.
Another possibility is that there is evidence of serious dysfunctionality in the governance of the group and that the Fraternity looked like becoming an end in itself instead of a means to evangelization.

Very sad. It any wonder why vocations to the priesthood and religious life have started another serious downward spiral since Bergoglio became Pope? Or why in many European countries, now less than 10% attend Mass?
Since Pope Francis was elected and all this harassment of traditional Catholicism began, the number of diosecean seminarians world wide is down 16,000 from 2012. Some of the major religious Orders and now plunging even faster towards extinction....the Jesuits included. There are now less than 1,000 Jesuit brothers world wide(lay brothers). Soon that class of Jesuits will be extinct.
It is sad that Pope Francis is now nearly 82, showing no signs of slowing down, and nearly 6 years finished in a disastrous pontificate.
Maybe these evil acts are accelerating because Francis knows his time is running out. Better wreck now while the wrecking's good.

I have a proof that Francis is a destroyer of The one, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church ( as said the prophecy of st. Francis of Assisi). But the proof which I got only can be seen on the photo's that I made exact on the 100th day of the appearance of mother Mary in Fatima ( 13th May, 2017), I took the photo's right above the papal's car where Francis stood in the car at that time. However there was an amazing short story behind the photo's I made.

The European Union and the Leftists are forcing the Vatican to interpret Vatican Council II as a rupture with the strict interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS).
The Italian government must also note that the same irrational interpretation of Vatican Council II is being forced upon Italian Catholics and non Italians studying and working in Italy.

I re-interpret Vatican Council II rationally and traditionally. The two popès could do the same. Even the Catholic political parties in Italy could do the same.

ECUMENISM OF RETURN
Based on Vatican Council II, I affirm an ecumenism of return.Since Ad Gentes 7 says all need to enter the Catholic Church for salvation.

EENS ACCORDING TO THE 16TH CENTURY
Based on Vatican Council II (Ad Gentes 7) I affirm the strict interpretation of outside the Church there is no salvation. Ad Gentes 7 says all need faith and baptism for salvation.
7.
This missionary activity derives its reason from the will of God, "who wishes all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, Himself a man, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself as a ransom for all" (1 Tim. 2:45), "neither is there salvation in any other" (Acts 4:12).
Therefore, all must be converted to Him...and all must be incorporated into Him by baptism and into the Church which is His body. For Christ Himself "by stressing in express language the necessity of faith and baptism (cf. Mark 16:16; John 3:5), at the same time confirmed the necessity of the Church, into which men enter by baptism, as by a door...
By means of this activity, the Mystical Body of Christ unceasingly gathers and directs its forces toward its own growth (cf. Eph. 4:11-16). The members of the Church are impelled to carry on such missionary activity by reason of the love with which they love God and by which they desire to share with all men the spiritual goods of both its life and the life to come.
Finally, by means of this missionary activity, God is fully glorified, provided that men fully and consciously accept His work of salvation, which He has accomplished in Christ.-Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II

PAST ECCLESIOLOGY SUPPORTED
With the strict interpretation of extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS) and the rational interpretation of Vatican Council II for me there is only the past exclusìvist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church based on Ad Gentes 7.
LG 8, LG 14, LG 16, UR 3, NA 2, GS 22 etc refer to hypothetical and invisible cases only. So they do not contradict Ad Gentes 7 and EENS according to the missionaries and Magisterium of the 16th century.

SOCIAL REIGN OF CHRIST THE KING BASED ON AD GENTES 7
So the priority for me would be the Social Reign of Christ the King since outside the Church there is no salvation(AG 7).

NON SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE BASED ON EENS
I would support the non separation of Church and State since every one needs to be a member of the Catholic Church for salvation (AG 7).

TRADITIONAL MISSION DOCTRINE RETURNS
I support mission programs since Vatican Council II (AG 7) indicates all non Catholics are oriented to Hell unless they enter the Church before death with 'faith and baptism'.Most people die outside the Church and so they are in Hell. The Church is saying in Vatican Council II that most people are in Hell.

So I support Tradition by re-interpreting Vatican Council II rationally.I do not create a rupture with Tradition as does the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and popes Benedict and Francis.

Deeply silly. Conciliar seminaries have long been near empty when not closing down. They attract only a certain type of homosexual, one with pantheistic religious beliefs. No normal man would go near those places.

Traditional and semi-traditional seminaries have to turn away applicants, they get so many.

Yes, Francis knows for all his efforts to pack the College if Cardinals with his minions, all the efforts to protect sexual predators in Conciliar orders, Conciliarism is dying. Hopefully no one forgets if his followers like the ordinary of Vienna, JP2 neo-con turned Bergoglian ultra, switch views of a new Pope is at least somewhat orthodox.

Scandal at the St.Benedict Centers

All the Saint Benedict Centers erroneously hold that one one is justified either by the sacrament of baptism or by the desire for it. But the Council of Trent and Fr. Feeney held that the sacrament is the only means of justification. Concerning Vatican II and Br. Andre, please put (the Prior) Br. Andre"s statements in quotation marks.

Lionel:
The St.Benedict Centers have been interpreting Vatican Council II as a rupture with extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS). They have been also teaching this to lay members associated over the years with their communities. This is also the position of the Sisters of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Worcester and Manchester,USA.
So if Vatican Council II(LG 8,LG 16, UR 3 etc) is a rupture with EENS for them, then they imply that there are known people saved outside the Church, with 'elements of sanctification and truth' (LG 8) etc, for them to be exceptions.
If hypothetical cases are not hypothetical for them, in Vatican Council II and the Catechisms, then magisterial documents will contradict themselves. The Catechism of Pope Pius X( invincible ignorance) would contradict the Syllabus of Errors of Pope Pius IX( ecumenism of return) There would be heretical conclusions.
Also the Nicene Creed and the Apostles Creed would have been changed. It would not be the same interpretation as the Magisterium in the 16th century.
They offer/attend Mass with this heresy. It is a scandal.
The St. Benedict Centers do not deny what I have written here. They do not state that they interpret Vatican Council II in harmony with the stict interpretation of EENS.Instead they interpret the Council and other magisterial documents like their bishops.
They do not state that Vatican Council II is not in a rupture with the past ecclesiology of the Church. Neither do they state that Vatican Council II only supports an ecumenism of return. This is how I interpret the Council without mixing up what is invisible as being visible.
It is a few years now and they cannot state the obvious i.e the baptism of desire, baptism of blood and being saved in invincible ignorance refer to only hypothetical cases. They are theoretical for us humans. They are not real and known non Catholics saved outside the Church in 2018.

Ultimately Lionel, this obsessive preoccupation with the EENS doctrine is fruitless because it presumes that God's freedom is constrained by Church doctrine especially this one which is so clearly conditioned by historical, ideological and cultural circumstances. In effect, Lionel, the Church has ditched this no matter what authorities you quote even Vatican II which has paralleled ecclesiologies and Christologies just to keep everyone happy. It was the post Vatican II selective application of the council by the 2800 Council Fathers that has resulted in the quiet shelving of EENS.
Get used to it. It'll be so much easier on your nervous system as well as your spiritual and psychological well being.

Peter,
So you do not dispute theologically, that Vatican Council II supports the strict interpretation of the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus(EENS). Thank you. I am glad you agree with me, even though it may be grudgingly. This is the point I have been trying to get across to the traditionalists.

Lionel: EENS is an indication on how God will judge people. It is based on John 3.5 and Mark 16:16. It is the teaching of the Church guided by the Holy Spirit.
Inspite of ideological, historical and cultural attempts to suppress it, it has made a clear comeback and you do not dispute that it is supported by Vatican Council II (AG 7).

Lionel: The present ecclesiastics have 'ditched it' under pressure from the Left who generally represent Satan. But it is only temporary.
Truth has a way of asserting itself independent of us.
_______________________

It was the post Vatican II selective application of the council by the 2800 Council Fathers that has resulted in the quiet shelving of EENS.
Lionel: It was ignorance which did it.There was also a cover up by the CDF etc. Now the truth is out. People know that invisible and non existing people cannot be exceptions to EENs.They know that a person-saved without the baptism of water cannot be visible in Heaven and on earth at the same time.

Lionel. I affirm EENS which is the teaching of the Catholic Church before, in and after Vatican Council II. It is guided by Holy Spirit. I do not have to fight with the truth. It's a wonderful situation.
All the loose ends are tied and there no more is confusion on this subject.
Some 20 years back I asked myself : when I meet a non Catholic is he going to Heaven or Hell. I asked priests too and they could not answer.
Now the answer is clear. Since Vatican Council II does not contradict EENS and nor itself for me.
When I meet a non Catholic I know that he or she is on the way to Hell since EENS is the norm and BOD, BOB and I.I are not the norm.
Also practically there cannot be exceptions to the norm; to EENS.-Lionel Andrades

Lionel: God has chosen to restrict salvation to only membership in the Catholic Church, just as he has chosen only women to have babies, water to fall downwards and men to marry ohly women.
The dogma EENS reflects the supernatural truth as God sees. This is taught to us by the Holy Spirit through the Catholic Church.

Catholic teaching, even Dogma, cannot decide or define what God has chosen, Lionel. It is the Church that says God has chosen this or that. The Sensus Fidei Fidelium would indicate that God has not in fact decided that non Catholics are doomed to eternal damnation. That is the best sign of what the Holy Spirit is revealing.
EENS is a human creation and has nothing to do with the mind or intention of God.
I suggest you look for another hobby.

Lionel:
Jesus founded only one Church. He identified with the Catholic Church when he asked Saul" why do you persecute me".The Bible tells us that the Church is the Mystical Body of Jesus. Throughout the Gospel of John we are told that for salvation it is necessary to believe in Jesus. Those who believe in Jesus express this new hope and life with the baptism of water(John 3:5). The baptism of water was not given to any body but to those who were in the community, the Early Church, the Early Christians, the Early Catholics.
Before the Ascension Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will be there to guide the Church. This is the Holy Spirit known to the saints like Francis of Assisi, Teresa of Avila, St. Faustina Kowalska who experienced the highest levels of union with God, posible on earth, while remaining in the Catholic Church. They died as sons and daughters of the Church.
This is the Church through which the Holy Spirit tells us how God will judge every one on earth, Catholic and non Catholic.
For centuries Catholic Tradition, the saints and popes taught that all need to be members of Jesus' Mystical Body, with 'faith and baptism'(Ad Genets 7, Vatican Council II), for salvation. Vatican Council II says 'all' and not just those who know or do not know.
This has been the Sensus Fidei in the Church for centuries and we know that there is no new revelation. There is no new Deposit of the Faith.
Vatican Council II today is in accord with the Sensus Fidei on EENS as it was known to the Church over the centuries. A small group of people within the Church cannot change this truth of the Faith by using an irrational premmise and inference, to create a rupture with Tradition and then pretend that this is a new revelation in Vatican Council II.Vatican Council II says extra ecclesiam nulla salus. It is Feeneyite,
