Archbishop Mallory of Rockford Contravenes Sumorum Pontificum

Edit: a word to the priests. If the Bishop of Rockford has no respect for ecclesiastical law, why should you respect his unjust rulings? Frankly, he can't say anything about it.

Bishop Malloy of Rockford, which is in Illinois in the USA, has sent a rather remarkable letter to his priests. Rorate Caeli received a copy on 16th January, and it is reproduced in full here.

Concern over restrictions placed on the ideological Traditional Latin Mass in Rockford,Illinois,USA

There is concern on Rorate Caeli and Fr.Z's blog over restrictions placed on what is now the common ideological Traditional Latin Mass approved by the two popes and also many liberal bishops and cardinals all over the world. There are many blog posts on the the Bishop of Rockford, Most Rev. David J. Malloy 'attacking ad orientem worship and over riding Summorum Pontificium'.
All the traditionalists bloggers find it acceptable though that the Latin Mass can be offered and is offered as a rupture with 'the ecclesiocentrism of the past' (Redemptoris Missio).
There is no more 'the ecclesiocenterism of the past' associated with the Traditional Latin Mass and so it is approved by the popes and the bishops.
If the priest maintained the old ecclesiology and expressed it in homilies or on a blog, this would be ' a sign of disunity'.So the priest does not do so.
Fr.John Zuhlsdorf appreciates the vestments of the Latin Mass and recommends inter-faith marriages. Since in the new ecclesiology there is salvation outside the Church and so a Jew married to a Catholic could be saved. This is his ecclesiology when he offers the Latin Mass.
If he wrote on his blog that there is no salvaton outside the Church and that a Catholic married to a Jew or Protestant is living in adultery, this would be the old ecclesiology of the Latin Mass.He could be suspended.
The popes and bishops would have Fr. Zuhlsdorf suspended for his 'ecclesiocentrism of the past' as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger put it in Redemptoris Missio. So theologically Fr.Z accepts a rupture with the Traditional Latin Mass and offers the Latin Mass, which today is as ideological as the Novus Ordo Mass.
Similarly Joseph Shaw will write on Rorate Caeili about offering Mass ad oriented and recommend it like Fr. Z and Cardinal Sarah. However they mean facing God at Mass and not the Congregation but knowing that there is salvation for the Protestants who don't do this. There is also salvation for Jews who do not believe in the Mass. This was not the undestanding of the priest over the centuries when he offered the Latin Mass ad orientem.
Over the centuries to deny the exclusivist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church would be an impediment to offering Holy Mass. The Latin and Novus Ordo Mass is offered today with this impediment.
Joseph Shaw knows that he needs the approval of the liberal bishops in England and he also has to respect the anti-Catholic leftist laws. So he presents the Latin Mass as the Traditional Latin Mass ( which it is not) and meets the ideological requirements of the Left.

Because none of his 'brother bishops' will reprimand Rockford or take him to task, but if Rockford's priests don't toe his line he'll hang them out to dry. Very few priests have private incomes, very few have alternative careers at the ready, and most are very dependent on the good wishes of their bishop. That's why.

Society of St. Pius X, are not paying attention? Consider what will await you once your personal prelature is established. The Anglo-Catholic ordinariates were supposed to be totally independent of the local ordinaries, with due mutual cooperation as befits members of the same Church. Instead, local ordinaries have had their noses in their internal business (witness Cardinal Wuerl of DC). Anyone who trusts for one second these heretics should either have his head examined or be ashamed for culpable naivete in time of war.

If Rome were back to normal, Archbishop Mallory would be Canonically punished for attempting to change Liturgical Legislature. No one need obey him as he is not in union with the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I wonder if his actions don't fall under excommunication Latae Sententiae. His is a humongous crime against God and His Church.

Speaking of Motu Proprio,I wonder what would happen if the majority of Conciliar seminarians firmly requested to receive the 7 orders of priesthood in the pre-April 1969 rite from a bishop ordained/consecrated in the pre-April 1969 rites.
If these "Bishops" are going to prevent the holy sacrifice of the Mass, prospective seminarians should be able to receive holy orders according to their wishes.
The Church isn't supposed to be a chaotic free for all yet this is the state we are in today.
My point is if the (((leftist))) want to stop, prevent, and subsequently eternally silence Catholic tradition, then traditional Catholics should be able to have their demands met.
This includes receiving sacraments according the pre-1962 rubrics from bishops with traditional ordination/consecration holy orders. If large numbers of Catholics in the conciliar church made these demands daily/weekly,things would change.
Its no different from the left demanding we conform their desires these past 50-55 years.

Fr.Michael Oswalt was in the Diocese of Rockford yet he made the decision to obey our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ.
Watch his interview on YouTube. He said it wasn't easy but the Lord provided and he is eternally grateful for blessings he received subsequently.

Personally I wish both SSPX & Sedevacantist groups would stand together in unity & spirit. In the next 20 years or sooner, the conciliar church is going to become even more leftist & unrecognizable. That's when we will know who stands for & supports the eternal one holy Catholic apostlic church & who supports & stands for Antichrist.

Bishop David J. Malloy, the bishop of Rockford interprets Vatican Council II with Cushingism and is supported by the CDF.He is probably supporeted by the Vatican on this issue too.

JANUARY 21, 2017
By now the CDF should have been able to accept that there are two interpretations of Vatican Council II and one has the hermeneutic of continuity and the other does not.

His name is Malloy. I'm not being snarky, but we should have the correct name of those who oppose the traditions of the Church.

Catholic bishops and priests affirm the old ecclesiology in public,do not use the irrational premise, then we have the Mass of the Ages, the Traditional Latin Mass

Paragraph 3 of Amoris Laetitia gives licence to local Churches to decide on their own doctrine.

Yes, if the present state of the Vatican was faithful then bishops would not be suspending or persecuting priests at will for no crime or sin committed. But the present atmosphere in Rome allows for these things to happen and a holy priest has no recourse.

2 wrongs don't make a right, so the priests have to obey their bishop because that's what they're supposed to do. Just because another person might do a wrong thing doesn't make it right for us to do a wrong thing.

2 wrongs, Modernist heretical Bishop + Those who obey him = Confusion. That's been happening for 50 years. As scripture tells us, "We serve God first rather than man". When a Bishop contradicts the teachings of Christ and His Church and commands us to obey his personal evil. George Edwards what do we do?

George Edwards, Here is a true situation reported today by Rorate Caeli Blog. A Priest in Columbia has been suspended a Divinis for upholding the teachings of Christ on Marriage and for upholding St. Paul's warning about receiving Communion unworthily, doing it to ones own eternal loss. The Bishop who officially condemned him has called on all the faithful to not listen to this priest, this priest has been declared a Heretic an Apostate and a Schismatic for not obeying the doctrines of Pope Francis. Mr. Edwards tell us how this priest and we the faithful should proceed. You can read the decree on Rorate Caeli Blog.

Lionel,

Is it possible for you to post on any Catholic blog without immediately launching into your personal crusade for Feeneyism?

Disobeying an unlawful command isn't wrong.

I can remember a priest, who was forced out his parish here in metro Detroit circa 1973-4 saying...

Paraphrasing. Mark my word a day will come when the anti church clerics who currently run the 'organiztion' will isolate hunt persecute and eventually exterminat loyal priests in a blood purge similar to Fr Revolution or Spanish Civil War.

Beautiful humble priest sent back to Italy after cast aside by the gansters in Roman collars at the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Tell them about paragraph three when they throw you out of the parish. Stop seeking rapprochement with these heretics. Go to believing, faithful priests even if mass is said in your living room. They have the buildings but we have the faith.

This chaos in the Church is exactly what Francis aims for; it is what he means, in Spanish, by saying 'hagan lio': make trouble. Spoken like the true leftist anarchist dictator he is.

Very interesting & insightful priest.
Recently found clip on YouTube of British priest from 1976 who left the conciliar structure. He had to be in his 50's or 60's at the time.(ordained pre V2) Check out it sorry I can't remember his name.
Archbishop Levefbre is in the last minute of clip.

Yeah, Detroit has definitely been sodomite central.

Exactly. I've said before that he sits in that chair like that Marxist, Jim Jones, berating us for our lack of revolutionary zeal.
