Judge Sentences Catholic to Attend 12 Sunday's at Baptist Church

.- An Ohio judge sentenced a 23-year old Catholic man to 12 consecutive Baptist Sunday services after an altercation in downtown Cincinnati in January.

It was dollar beer night at the Cincinnati Cyclones vs. Fort Wayne Komets hockey game on January 23, and Jake Strotman and his buddies had had a few before heading downtown after the game (a Cyclones victory).

Strotman and his friends came across a group of Baptist street preachers, who Strotman claims were condemning him, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer

They wouldn't get me back there, unless I was allowed to tell them their faith was founded on heresy and show them all the errors and lies they believe are false. I know, I came out of the Baptist faith and into Christ's Holy Catholic Church.

It sounds like Mr. Strotman really didn't care one whit about his own Catholicism as he was intoxicated. Perhaps his deportment led to the preachers laying into him about the sin of drunkedness. He needs to go to confession and take his Catholic faith and morals as seriously as the baptists take their beliefs, flawed though they are.

Jake,

I doff my cap. You stood up for the True Faith, though not in the best way. You went to court, admitted guilt without qualification, and proposed a sensible sentence. What could be more manful than that? You earned the respect of the judge and the plaintiffs because you acted manfully. My advice is to get a hold of the Steven Ray and Scott Hahn videos and DVDs, they speak the Baptist and NonDenom lingo and teach you details about the True Faith that make the Xavier-type priests, priestesses, priest wannabes, and you-know who, bawl.

I wish I could meet up with you at Skyline's for a five-way (no, it's not what you-know-who dreams of) and discuss Wright-Pat, hockey, Kasiches, and theological matters. BTW, though not Detroit Coney Island chili, Skyline's is great by any standard.

I'd rather go to jail.

Hmm. Not sure if it's cruel, but it's definitely unusual...and therefore unconstitutional, last time I checked.
