Pope to Abolish Swiss Guard? On-line Petition

The campaign was launched by the Guard sympathizers and former guardsmen, who fear Pope Francis wants to abolish the Swiss Guard - The initiative aims to "invite the Pope to make a commitment to Swiss Guard"

Zurich-Vatican City (kath.net/KAP) A petition to Pope Francis should be encouraged to maintain the Swiss Guard. This was reported by "Vatican Radio" on Sunday. The initiative, launched by the Guard sympathizers and former guardsmen began on Saturday. "We want to ask the Pope to make a commitment to the Swiss Guard", said the Swiss organizer Walter Gabriel, according to media reports. The future of the guard is something that the organizers have at heart, who fear Pope Francis may want to abolish the Guard.

Speculation about a reform or even the end of the Swiss Guard had arisen after the dismissal of the previous commander Daniel Anrig in early December. The Swiss Guard has been protecting the Pope and his palace since 1506. Today, the protection force has a nominal strength of 110 men and is responsible for the personal protection of the Pope and for the security of the entrances to the Vatican. Most recruits undertake a two-year service period these days.

Born in 1972 in Walenstadt in the canton of St. Gallen and raised in Sargans, Anrig was from 1992-1994 a Hellebardier in the Guard. After a law degree, which also included the canon law, he entered the cantonal police in Glarus, where he most recently held the rank of commander. In August 2008, he was called by Pope Benedict XVI. and appointed to succeed Elmar Mäder.

These uncertain and confusing days in the Vatican make the faithful wonder 'what next'? Everything is up for grabs it seems. Nothing is certain from Rome at this time. But our certainty lies in Christ and His Gospel.

I think ALL faithful Catholics in all countries, traditionalists or just concerned faithful who love the Church, should begin a campaign, petitions, etc. not only to stop these "reforms" that would further destroy the Church and traditions of the Vatican and our Faith, but also to pressure Pope Francis to resign. Seriously, someone the likes of him who is capabile of launching the complete destruction of the Papacy and the Church should be opposed and stopped....as well as his associates and supporters. I would not be surprised if he would do away with Castel Gandolfo, and is lunatic enough (since he lives in the Casa Santa Marta". to do away with the Vatican itself.
He must be forced out.

Pope Francis is a disaster!

I don't believe it.

If true, it could involve the influence of the evil sect of the "homo lobby", who have been known to have had confrontations with Swiss Guard upholders of Catholic morality.

You've got that right, Barona.

Very true. If this worthless Pope suppresses the Swiss guards, he is siding with the Vatican queers who are well known to the Guard.
If the Guard is suppressed, former and present members should turn on the Vatican and Pope Francis, and reveal all they know of the evil goings on in the Vatican, naming names of Cardinals, Bishops, Monsignors, priests etc. who are gay and have propositioned Guards, etc.
The goal of all good Catholics now, should be to bring Pope Francis and his associates down. Force them to resign and run back to where they came from.

Damask Rose said...

True. They must be tired of all those chat-up lines. Why don't the Swiss Guards just march on in and do some arresting in the name of Vatican security/justice? But if one of the Swiss Guard Captains had an affair with Mgr. Ricca, where does the rot start or stop?

Anonymous said...

The rot starts at the top, Pope Francis. Force the top out of office, and the rest will likewise fall.

...if it happens, it would be a strong sign of the emasculating of the Church at her highest levels.

Leaving this reprobate Pope unguarded may not be such a bad thing?

It wasn't a captain, it was a rookie and as far as I know he's still there; the fact is that the hotel S.Marta is not in Vatican state, it's in Italy and swiss guards must remain in Vatican to protect the pope and his apartements, but if there's no pope in Vatican and there's no pope at all, what do they serve for ?

casa Santa Marta is not in Italy. It is part of the Vatican State. Look at a map that might have the Vatican outlined in a red border. It's within the border.
The only properties that the Vatican owns that are inside Italy (but considered Vatican property), are the 4 patriarchial Basilicas of the Holy City of Rome (St. Peters, Santa Maria Maggiore, Sn Giovanni Laterano, and Saint Paul outside the Wallls. Also the Vatican owns the Cancelleria (an administrative building in Rome), and the Basilicas of Saint Francis in Assisi.
Pope Francis is an A.H. (figure it out). The best thing for the Catholic Faith is for him to resign on his own, be forced out by a coup of good Cardinals etc. who have had enough of him, or if he dies.
Any of the above are fine.

I totally agree

Again, I agree. By the way, I did figure out the A.H.. It stands for Argentinian Humourist!

JaRay,

That's a good guess, but not close. But believe me, it applies to Pope Francis, and all his inner circle of advisors and supporters... "Cardinal Sean" in Boston, etc.

Pope Saint Pius X must be rolling in his grave. "Modernism" truly sucks.

Stick to Sacred Scripture (Catholic Bible) which is the speech of God in entirety (CCC 81);
and
the "Catechism of the Catholic Church, second edition" which contains the Doctrine of the Faith in entirety.
Then you will not be confused.

See quotes from our 3 most recent Popes regarding the CCC on:
"What Catholics Really Believe Source"
http://whatcatholicsreallybelieve.com/

Personal opinions of high ranking Clergy are not requirements of our Faith.
All human beings (except Mary) are sinners in one way or another, and are all capable of error.
Remember that even Judas Iscariot was even one of the chosen 12 to teach us an important lesson.

When the Pope appears to violate Sacred Scripture or the CCC, I am learning to ignore him.

Let's see....what could a practical reason be for some in the Vatican to want to abolish the Swiss Guards who stand at the gates 24 hours a day? Hummmmm...maybe some corrupt/immoral prelate who is determined to bring one of his rent boys home for the night. Without the Swiss Guards there it would be much easier. The public reason will be simplicity......blah blah blah but we all know the real reason..

People rose up and threw out corrupt leaders all throughout history. I wish the faithful Catholics of Rome and all Italy, Europe and elsewhere could rise up and throw out Pope Francis and his clique (Schonborn, "Cardinal Sean", Mariadiaga, Bruno Forte, Monsignor Ricca, etc.

Many Catholics from all over the world, from all age groups, from all levels of culture - clergy, and lay people, are in total disbelief at what the current pope is doing to our Church. Many call out for his resignation, others say he is not the true pope. At a time in our history when we need a strong leader in Rome more than ever, we find the opposite - in fact instead of a leader on the Chair of Peter, we have someone who does not even respect the Office of Christ's Vicar on Earth. So, if there was a universal call for Francis to resign....who would call it, how would it be circulated and how could it be put into action? Something has to happen. Considering the short time Francis has been Pope and the amount of damage he has already done - God protect the Church from his being there much longer. His pride in his feigned humility makes me sick - he has such a big opinion of HIS way of doing whatever he wants but no respect for the dignity of the Papacy.

Anonymous said...

Gotcha....that's real truth, but official news blahblahblah.....for standing at the rooms doors, Ricca is enough.

Anonymous said...

The CCC has a lot of problems and was edited by Cardinal Schonborn. If you have time, read this 4-part critique: http://sspx.org/en/new-catechism-catholic

I'd recommend sticking to the Catechism of Trent or Baltimore.

If Catholics didn't rise up and revolt after the introduction of the Novus Ordo Mass, why would they rise up now?

God gave us the leaders we deserve. Liberals like Francis and Schonborn are the perfect reflection of the modern Catholic.

Tancred said...

You may have given up, but many others haven't.

Bollocksinion said...

Maybe no one rose up against the Novus Ordo Mass because being concerned about it isn't really all that important.

Tancred said...

Many did rise up against it, intelligent and thoughtful people who attempted, against the common mass, to resist in any way they could.
