Islamists Blow Catholic Nunnery in Mossul

The reason for the destruction indicated by local sources were that crosses were over the buildings. People apparently were not harmed.

Vatican City (kath.net/KNA) The terrorist militia of the "Islamic State" has tried to blow up a convent in Mosul in northern Iraq. The convent building of the Chaldean Sacred Heart Sisters and the church were severely damaged, reported the Vatican press Fides (Tuesday). The reason for the destruction indicated by local sources was that there were crosses over the buildings. People apparently were not harmed.

According to sources, a first detonation was unsuccessful. The militias then increased the charges. The residents were warned in advance. The nuns had apparently left the complex. According to Fides, the fighters of the "Islamic State" used the monastery for some time as a headquarters and logistics base, but left apparently out of fear of US air strikes.

According to the press service, the building had been built with a donation from the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. Whether an adjacent George's Abbey was also affected by the explosion is unclear. (C) 2014 CBA Catholic News Agency. All rights reserved.

This is obviously how this diabolical religion replies to soft-headed radical liberals who advocate "constructive dialogue" and similar fundamental liberals who call them our brothers and sisters. Who would really listen seriously to such preposterously asinine advice?

Ever since the 2nd Council, we have had the same refrain ringing in our ears like tinnitus; me must "dialogue" with Islam and it is a "great" Abrahamic religion and other such nonsense.

The religion the Popes are so keen to praise strikes again. So much for Papally sponsored inter-religious prayer.

Saddam may have been a dictator ,but at least there was religious freedom when he was in charge ,someone needs to tell Pope Francis its hard to have dialogue with anyone ,when you're minus a head.

Saddam, call me George, senior Bush......the great mufti of Turkey yesterday said in an interview that it's impossible a dialogue between christians and muslims, the christians must dialogue among themselves......anything to be added? God bless+

The silence of the American and Eurobishops is deafening. Where is Chicago's Fr Pfleger, Call to Action, NCCB, etc. when you need them to call out the unjust? They are probably at a swank hotel arguing over the Campaign for Human Development pot.

Ironic given Jorge Bergoglio just submitted and prayed with Muslims in Turkey recently.
