This explanation doesn't make sense. So, CA think the Catholic hierarchy is being unfair to traditional Catholics. However, the reason it is not applying strict measures to the liberal German bishops is to avoid a major schism. However, the traditionalist SSPX brought excommunication on themselves and the Catholic hierarchy merely announced this. But, this is alright because the harsh treatment of the SSPX only concerns losing a couple of hundred thousand people rather than millions if the Germans were disciplined.
I found it encouraging that he acknowledged they have been mistreated. He also acknowledged the existence of different factions. In their neo-cat phase, he and Shea would say, “-Wot? Wot? I’m just Catholic. That’s all there is!”
The SSPX has screwed this up for the past almost forty years. If they had been sharing some of their cash-ola with the Vatican all along, there would have been no schism. They were stingy and kept all of their money. Remember the saying: They all wanted to "wet their beaks".
