Should Nationalists in the West support Ukraine?

8 comments:

  1. It's disappointing. The purpose of the a country is to serve God. "Ethno-nationalism" has no place in this
There is no "right" to a homeland based on purely ethnic identity.
Catholic Tradition is not based on race. In Catholic History, most if wat you see is multicultural empires, that acknowledge the Church as it's head, or at least, acknowledges the Church to morally inform the State. This was the Byzantine, French, Polish, and Holy Roman Empires official position until Nationalism, and ethnic nationalists came to exist and destroyed these empires.
Nationalism, along with Modern Democracy, and Liberalism came to exist as a result of, and because of, anticlericalism and separation of Church and State. Nationalism as Liberalism, are both Products of the Enlightment. Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity have no place in the Church, nor in a Catholic society.
A white person forfeits all rights when he stands against the Church.
There is something called "Patriotism", which is traditionally ancient and honors the Church. It is love for one's country. Because your Country is your home where you were born and raised. But you love it as God's creation: the people, land, mountains, waters, etc. And because if this one should feel a duty to defend it.And immigrants who come there must be required to show and feel the same sense of live, duty, honor for this land. This is the 4th Commandment: honor your father and mother. And this love of country, your fatherland, your motherland, that binds people to this 4th Commandment is called "Patriotism".
But "Patriotism" is love of one's land and people under God.
"Nationalism" is love of one's ethnicity regardless of, and in spite of, love for God and the Church.
"Nationalism" is the madness that makes Nazov and UPA (mostly Greek Catholic) terrorists in Ukraine murder innocent civilians such as (Roman Catholic) Polish, and Russian minorities.

    1. How do you then interpret the ethno nationalism of Israel in the old testament? Wasn't it a good thing, given all the dangerous tribes that surrounded them.

  2. I agree at least when it comes to Israel. Open borders for Israel!

“Peoples or nations too have a right to their own full development, which while including - as already said - the economic and social aspects, should also include individual cultural identity and openness to the transcendent. Not even the need for development can be used as an excuse for imposing on others one's own way of life or own religious belief.”

  3. I have no problem supporting Ukraine, but its Jewish overlords bathing in innocent Christian blood are another story.

  4. Even though the Israelites were somewhat "ethno-centric", it is not secular
ENLIGHTENMENT nationalism. And Old Testament Israel was not as ethnic but as a Monarchial religious State. Included and famous among Israelites were Ethiopians.
Let me remind everyone that Moses's Wife Zipporah, was Ethiopian.

  7. "Jewish overlords bathing in innocent Christian blood" appears to be very accurate. Just add in a Chewish president dancing in high heels and the picture is complete.
