Edit: anyone pushing for “land reform” is a commie. The article isn’t specific about why this priest was suspended, but it’s very doubtful for preaching Catholicism. A lot of people will be surprised to see a leftist promoting Orthodoxy, but it’s not really so strange since so many Orthodox clergy embraced Communist ideology in the East under Soviet control. Old habits die hard.
(RNS) — When the clergy and seminarians of the St. Andrew’s Seminary in Aguacate, Guatemala, roll into town they have their work cut out for them.
“On day one, we did the liturgy, 10 baptisms, and seven chrismations,” explained the Fr. Thomas Manuel, an Orthodox Christian priest. “Then the next day, we did another visit, we had nine confessions, the Divine Liturgy, four chrismations, three weddings and a baptism.”
The men’s workload is their own doing. Established only a decade ago in a country traditionally dominantly Roman Catholic, Guatemala’s Orthodox Christian community is so successful that its few clergy are in a constant state of being overwhelmed.
Not sure why it says "Leftist"? Land reform is important in a "Banana Republic" owned by Pro-US controlled wealthy oligarchy. Our own Catholic Church teaches Social Justice, especially since Pope Leo XIII. Guatemala, controlled by the US has sent many Southern blacks and others to colonize it and offered them job opportunities. Today, Guatemala is about 40% Protestant, and gaining. The US has been exporting Protestantism to this country. Nothing is stopping this Leftist US superpower from importing abortion, contraception, gay rights, etc.. An Orthodox priest ( even if he may have been Catholic before) is just doing his job...unlike leftist Catholic priests playing politics, without concern for the poor, and displaced, and preaching "armchair", "ivory tower", intellectual Marxism in a Jesuit order. Not sure why this article is concerned about him. U, for sure, would rather, see him and his flock SSPX, for sure. But his flock would probably wind up being Protestant.ReplyDelete
Land reform destroyed El Salvador’s food surplus and this heretic is also apparently an exponent of Liberation “Theology”.ReplyDelete
No wonder the US is the most dangerous country on earth. Bog ignorance and disordered Nationalism drive it.ReplyDelete
Read a book you twit, preferably the Gospels.

It is because of the error of Michael Davies and Dietrich von Hildebrand that Una Voce International(Davies) and the Roman Forum ( Hildebrand) did not correct Pope Francis’ interpretation of Vatican Council II with the false premise, in Traditionis Custode. They did not correct Andre Grillo and 180 signatories who criticized the Latin Mass based upon their irrational interpretation of Vatican Council II.They did not correct this mistake of the false premise, at the Amazon Synod and in the Abu Statement
Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was interpreting the baptism of desire and invincible ignorance with the false premise of the Letter of the Holy Office . So he changed the interpretation of the Creeds and Catechisms. He rejected Tradition. He also chose an irrational interpretation of Vatican Council II. This doctrinal chaos is followed by the SSPX bishops and the sedevacantist bishops and priests who had their formation under him. They were in schism like the liberals and the popes. The fake premise creates heresy and schism.
At the Catholic Identiy Conference they will continue to interpret Vatican Council II with the false premise and not the rational premise. They will also interpret the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus according to the mistake in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949.This is not our Catholic identity.
This is being political correct with the Left in the name of Tradition.
Michael Matt’s father and Archbishop Lefebvre had used the false premise to interpret the Creeds, Catechisms, EENS and Vatican Council II like the liberals and the ecclesiastics of that time.It was the same with Michael Davies and Dietrich von Hildebrand. I have mentioned this before and no one denies it.
