Becciu Denies Wrongdoing

[Financial Times] The cardinal who oversaw the team at the heart of a Vatican investigation into a suspicious London property deal conducted additional investments of up to £100m in other London luxury apartments, documents show.

Documents including emails and financial accounts seen by the Financial Times show that Cardinal Giovanni Angelo Becciu, whom Pope Francis forced to resign last week, invested Vatican funds into a portfolio of ultra-prime flats in and around Cadogan Square, Knightsbridge, one of the most expensive residential addresses in London.

The revelations of additional high-end London property acquisitions decided by the 72-year-old Italian clergyman come as Vatican magistrates are investigating a separate €350m investment in a large building in Chelsea called 60 Sloane Avenue, which Cardinal Becciu also oversaw when it was made in 2014.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Pell cheers Bergoglio’s new decision:

Pell again seemed to hint at a link in a statement last week in which he “thanked and congratulated” Francis for firing Becciu.

“I hope the cleaning of the stables continues in both the Vatican and Victoria,” Pell said, referring to his home state of Victoria where he was convicted.

Pell, 79, said in April he planned to return to Rome when the coronavirus pandemic allowed him to pack up his apartment. But he intended to make Sydney his home.

  1. Becciu was put in position by the Argentinian pontiff just as Pell was "shown the door". Pell is no friend of the South American. When one is hit over the head with a 2 x 4 some 25 times, it feels really good when it stops.---"The beatings will continue until morale improves".

  2. Bergoglio is scym, and so is Becciu. He is a raducak, and deserved what he got. But it will be a real miscarriage of justice if CArdinal Parolin doesn't suffer the same fate, because he is equally guilty if not more so. After all, he was Becciu's boss, and knew everything....and was part of it as well. Sack PArolin, Paglia, and all the other LGBTQ loving trolls hiding in the dark Vatican corridors.
There's a classic segment from the equally classic 1976 PBS classic "I Claudius" starring Derek Jacobi as Claudius. Commenting on the corruption and decadence of Rome and the IMperial family of his time (which included Caligula and Nero), the drunk Claudius(Jacobi) in this scene says " Let all the poisons that lurk in the mud hatch out!!"...….meaning let all the corruption be revealed so that it can be eliminated. Francis/Bergoglio might reluctantly start the process, but the next Pope, a much younger and much more traditional man who will be a huge surprise at his election, will finish the job with a energy and resolve that will astound everyone!

  3. Dream on, my friend.
The current occupant of the Chair has rigged the game.
I am preparing myself for "Twenty of Tagle".
The Asian is no match for the criminals currently entrenched in the Vatican.

Of course, I pray for the miracle that you speak of.

  4. Poor potty training and lack of affirmation. In breeding does not help in the least.

  5. I read that Tagle has a health issue, which probably will cancel him out....he's 64 already.
Not a deathly issue, but something that would probably preclude him being names Papa.
That's one reason he got moved, but not the only one
