Pope Francis: "No Dialog With the Devil"

(Mexico City) Yesterday, Sunday, Pope Francis, who is currently on a pastoral trip through Mexico, celebrated Holy Mass on the grounds of Ecatepec center near Mexico City. On this occasion, the miraculous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was brought there. The Pope made a short sermon, previously distributed to journalists with a restriction period on publication, but in which he introduced improvised parts.

"Let us remember what we have heard in the Gospel: Jesus never contradicts the devil in his own words, but contradicts him with the words of God, with the words of Scripture. Because men and women, about which we must be clear, with the devil there is no dialogue, you can't conduct dialogue with him because he will always beat us. Only the power of God's words can defeat him.

The Spanish original text was published by the Holy See. An official English translation of the pope's preaching is not yet available.

    1. I suggest you're reading too much into what he said. One has to remember that Jorge is a hopelessly muddled thinker!

Jesus to the Jews who rejected Him: Your Father IS the devi [I guess it all depends on what "is" means!]
"Jesus therefore said to them: If God were your Father, you would indeed love me. For from God I proceeded, and came; for I came not of myself, but he sent me: Why do you not know my speech? Because you cannot hear my word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and he stood not in the truth; because truth is not in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof. But if I say the truth, you believe me not. Which of you shall convince me of sin? If I say the truth to you, why do you not believe me? He that is of God, heareth the words of God. Therefore you hear them not, because you are not of God. John 8:42-47

And of course Marty O'Malley, Andy Cuomo, Nanny Pelosi & on & on +Lutherans +'evangelicals' can get away w/adultery, fornication, baby murder, patricide & matricide, promoting sodomy, pedophelia etc. etc. As long as they cover up the pedophile abuse of soddies like McCarrick & Danneels and give them gov't MONEY.

Your logic is less than tight. Many have been and are in dialogue with the Evil One throughout history and are not necessarily the Anti-Christ. The identity of that Man of Destruction at this point is known to God alone. But that Pope Francis seems to have a record of destruction of the Faith, first in Buenos Aires and now in Rome, is fairly clear to all Catholics not inebriated with the narcotic of papolatry. And destruction at such a high level cannot be a series of errors or happenstance. Perhaps it is you who badly needs advice about listening to the intimidations of faithless clergy passing as advice for prudence and holy obedience rather than accusing others of what they have not in fact done. 1. My logic comes from the venerable Fr. Malachi Martin, who said that anyone who cooperates with the evil one is an antichrist. Are you a protestant? The only ones in my life who have accused me of papolatry have been lutherans. Lutherans also have accused me of listening to faithless priests. Maybe you would be more suited to frequent a protestant website instead of this one.

    3. No, I am not a Protestant and Malachi Martin, venerable though he indeed was, is not the Magisterium of the Church. The designation "Anti-Christ" is a very specific one---according to church teaching an individual who is the antithesis of Christ, not just anyone who might, for example, practice the occult or satanism (of whom there seems to be an increasing number in our day). I have read several books by the great Malachi Martin (including "Windswept House") and I doubt this learned priest would have made such a ridiculous, sweeping statement as you make that anyone who cooperates with the evil one is an antichrist, although I suppose the term could be used generically rather that as the Man of Perdition. Your logic, nevertheless, remains very loose and absurd attacks of being a Protestant do not change that fact. Take your pills, for submitting the same post twice in a row, in addition to misrepresenting Fr. Martin, is a bit of a sign of your mental condition. Beltran

  7. Hard to know when your dialoguing with the Devil ,its not like he introduces himself as a nasty evil devil ,he makes out he is a kind merciful and compassionate being ,he's not called the father of lies for nothing.

  8. Oh, according to the troll above to note the obvious fact that there are faithless priests in the counterfeit Novus Ordo church is to be Lutheran. Well, that should go well with Francis and his love of anything Protestant, as his upcoming trip to Sweden to grovel before the Lutherans will show the entire world. Faithless priests a dime-a-dozen in the Modernist church, so finding one to listen to should not be too hard. RC

  9. "Anyone who cooperates with evil is an anti-christ"?! What ignorant, unCatholic rubbish. Notice the Modernist penchant for diluting Catholic doctrine: the anti-Christ can be anyone who collaborates with the evil one (hence, they are numerous). That is not Catholic teaching on the anti-Christ nor what Father Malachi Martin writes---he is quite clear in fact that the Anti-Christ is a concrete individual, not an abstraction or a collective entity. But such clarity of doctrine is, of course, Catholic, unlike the insiduous Modernism of thesouthshallriseagain (probably sean, ben, gabriel, matthew---perhaps a "collective" entity or a case of demonic possession of multiple personalities that has been plaguing this website for much too long now?
