Ferrara: Voris is Devious, Deceptive on SSPX

Edit: excerpt from Chris Ferrara:

Here Voris deviously and deceptively contrasts Bishop Schneider with Catholics “supportive of schism”—meaning the SSPX—when,as he knows full well, Bishop Schneider himself is supportive of SSPX, sees no schism, and recommends that SSPX be regularized without further ado. Unable to enlist the Bishop in support of his “schism” charge, however, Voris tries to slip it into the Bishop’s “clarification” by means of a shifty innuendo.

·        “For SSPX supporters to portray Bishop Schneider as an unquestioning ally is something to which His Excellency objects.”

The Bishop did not “object” to the claim that he is an “unquestioning ally” of SSPX, because no such claim is made. Voris invented the claim and the Bishop’s “objection” in order to spin the—for Voris—useless “clarification” as support for his thoroughly discredited accusation of “schism.”

Sorry, Mr. Voris, but this is one duck that won’t lift from the lake. If there was anything left of CMTV’s credibility, it has vanished with this evidence of Voris’s determination to continue his petty vendetta against SSPX, which, as Bishop Schneider actually said, exhibits “a sound theological, spiritual and human reality” and the “sentire cum ecclesia” and that “this should suffice for a canonical recognition of the SSPX on behalf of the Holy See.”

  1. I was very saddened to see the devious way that CMTV dealt with the the SSPX part of the original interview with Bishop Schneider. In truth, it would have been more honest to ignore it altogether than to treat it in the misleading way that they did. The only people who seemed to need "clarification" of what the Bishop said was CMTV, because they didn't like it, as it didn't tally with their distorted, misleading views on the SSPX.

  2. Perhaps Voris is simply echoing the cautionary notice about the SSPX issued recently by Bishop Robert Morlino of Madison, WI.

    1. Then he should have quoted Bp. Morlino. He didn't. Instead he misquoted and misrepresented Bp. Schneider. That is duplicitous and deceitful....grave matter. Voris is caught in a dark, ugly corner of his own making, and he keeps doubling-down on the bad judgment.

  3. If it were for the purpose of cautioning people to guard their souls, then cautioning them about the continual attacks on Faith and morals by the Pope, would be a far greater priority.

  4. Has Voris not heard about the sspx situation in Argentina, which clearly came from the top?
Weird guy, he correctly bags the bad bishops and cardinals, but refuses to say anything against their boss, who has caused so much confusion and damage to the Catholic church in 2 short years .
The one time he did , at the last synod, he bizarrly apologized a couple of days later. For someone who claims to defend the church in these apocalyptic times, he goes out of his way to knock the parts of the Catholic church that are still Catholic, ie the sspx, which is more Catholic than most Catholics, and he knocks medjugorje, the confessional of Europe, from which have come millions of conversion and every second or third young priest I've met said he got his vocation as a result of medjugirje. How does he explain that ? Lets see what he'll say after the schism comes post synod, when Francis brings in the real changes. As they used to say in the movies ,"you ain't seen nothin yet!"

    2. Medjugorje is a hoax.

    3. Medjugorje is a farce, something anyone can determine by reviewing the abundant evidence that disproves it. I realize many people made a trip to Medjugorje in search of spiritual renewal and deepened their faith DESPITE the diabolical deceptions there - thank God for that.

    4. Good points, except about Medjugorje.

  5. Voris is being sucked into a vortex where his lies and falsehoods are being trapped and exposed!

  6. Lies and detractions are SINS, Mikey ol' boy. You need to make a good examination of conscience and a good confession. And ask yourself what makes you fight good and defend evil. Sounds like a mild case of possession to me.

    1. I agree. Something has definitely changed over at CMTV, and it seems to be diabolically oriented. Now they are sending trolls to the Remnant site to attack anyone who defends the SSPX. That article by Chris Ferrara really hit a nerve. Voris is now in self-destruct mode. Very sad, really, he used to do a good job defending the Faith.
But now, on the very Feast of Our Lady's Assumption, he intensifies his obsession with the SSPX and misrepresents a good Bishop' s words to try to perpetuate his weak argument that they are in schism. Diabolical indeed.

    1. Where is "The Fatima Network's" money coming from? i.e. how much money are Ferrara and Vennari (and maybe Michael Matt) getting from this organization? I can remember when Vennari said Gruner was a priest in good standing -- but turns out he was buried by Fellay. To work for the SSPX, to be paid by the SSPX, to collect money on behalf of the SSPX and then w/out disclosing any of this to pump the SSPX as "Catholic" is a conflict of interest.

Gruner buried by FELLAY (maybe Francis asked him to do it!):

Here are the mugs of Vennari & Ferrara on the home page of the Fatima Network:

Who owns this company "The National Committee for the National Pilgrim Virgin of Canada" as in what is at the bottom of the Fatima Network home page: "The Fatima Center is a registered Trade Name of The National Committee for the National Pilgrim Virgin of Canada - Charitable Registration Number: 10808 9764 RR0001 Copyright ©2015 The National Committee for the National Pilgrim Virgin of Canada?

Also Ferrara doesn't mention that Schneider justified bringing SSPX into the VC2 pervert lutheran, evangelical, jewish muslim, forniciating adulterating sodomite church on the basis of "ecumenicism":

"Otherwise the often repeated pastoral and ecumenical openness in the Church of our days will manifestly lose its credibility"

Schneider also states (and he should know since he was at their seminaries!) that SSPX uncategorically accepts all the sacraments of VC2 (including the N.O. mass!): "the SSPX recognizes the legitimacy of the Pope and the diocesan bishops and prays for them publicly and recognizes also the validity of the sacraments according to the editio typica of the new liturgical books"

      http://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2015/08/bishop-athanasius-schneider-there-are.html

Seems to me Ferrara is as big a liar as Voris and also working for Fellay (who seems to be working for Francis and before him JP2 and B16 also).

    2. "the SSPX recognizes the legitimacy of the Pope and the diocesan bishops and prays for them publicly and recognizes also the validity of the sacraments according to the editio typica of the new liturgical books"

I'm not sure what's in question here. The SSPX has always been clear that it recognizes Francis as Pope, however problematic their relationship is with him. They're not sedevacantists, and in this they follow Archbishop Lefebvre's line (which was highly critical of the post-conciliar popes, but he did recognize them as popes). At worst, they're de facto sedeprivationists.

Likewise, the SSPX has repeatedly indicated that they recognize the validity of the Novus Ordo, nominally; what they question is its canonical legitimacy and theological soundness. Bp. Schneider didn't go into all that, but I don't see what he misrepresented.

I get that you're Resistance (at least that's how you come across), and disapprove of how Fellay is leading the SSPX, but even so, there's no reason to say that anything that Bishop Schneider said in his brief statement is false.

    3. P.S. I think you're imputing more to Schneider's statement about "pastoral and ecumenical openness." It doesn't follow that Schneider is using ecumenism to justify the canonical regularization of the SSPX, only that the Church's ecumenical credibility will be damaged if it refuses to do so.

    5. Full clarification has been posted by Rorate (they coyly avoid giving truth about 'schism') -- they want to be 'positive' etc. But why couldn't these 'pastoral & pedagogical' reasons be given to accept anglicans (already did), lutherans, evangelicals, muslims etc.(or sodomites, adulterers and fornicators) "as they are":

"I said that the SSPX should be received as they are, meanwhile. My thought is this: for pedagogical and pastoral reasons they should be meanwhile accepted as they are, in order to correct by time those things which have to be corrected in the SSPX."

Anyone who wants to be re-educated by VC2 is welcome to re-enter the NO. The tail doesn't wag the dog, however. One cell of cancer will take over the whole body.

PS One cannot be positive and generate light (as Rorate thinks it is doing) by covering up the truth which is this: An apostate cannot be pope OR cardinal OR bishop OR priest -- neither can a heretic. The SSPX is in schism IF the pope is the pope. THAT is the crisis -- are heretics and apostates running the church? To pretend that by presenting 'positive' half truths and lies to the rubes who come to your website and 'charitably' interpreting Obama's Nuke Deal w/Iran will only get people killed, prolong 'the crisis' and make it worse.
