Argentinian Marian Shrine Defiled by Worldly Hammering

(Buenos Aires) On Saturday,  there was a silent, but no less painful form of persecution "with kid gloves" to pick an expression from  word from Pope Francis on June 30, 2014. This is ultimately about a passage from the Gospel of Luke, where Jesus says, "It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer. But ye have made it a den of thieves" (LK 19:46). The "robbers" are those who abuse, insult and for whatever reason and in what manner whatsoever, they desecrate the house of God in which they are appear.
Canon 1210 of the Code of Canon Law is one of the most forgotten provisions of canon law. Literally there is:
"In a holy place only that will be permitted, which is for the exercise or promotion of worship, piety and worship, and anything  that is inconsistent with the sanctity of the place is forbidden." The  last sentence doesn't change anything: "Yet the Ordinary may allow however, individual uses which do not conflict to the sanctity of the place."
A rule which applies to every holy place, even more so at a national shrine like the Basilica of Nuestra Señora de Lujánin, Argentina. Our Lady of Lujan is patroness of Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. The city of Lujan is located 70 kilometers west of Argentina's capital Buenos Aires.

Materialistic Fixity to the World Instead of Transcendence

Marian shrine of Our Lady of Lujan
This past May 16, a musical was featured in the Basilica of Creyendo Lujan, for the completion of the renovations. The Argentine state television filmed the performance and will broadcast this on May 25th. More than 20 well-known Argentine artists appeared in the event,  not on a concert stage, but between the altars and in the aisles. Among them was also the leading gay propagandist Sandra Mihanovich. Likewise, Leon Gieco, an "icon" of the Argentine left, who  is seen not by chance in a video next to an image of Ernesto "Che" Guevara. The musical spectacle was directed by Lito Vitale, who is known for his longtime left political activism.
The program was a mixture of rock Christ, "wisdom books" and Pope Francis. The offered texts were "in the best case scenario imbued with a pronounced materialism, a hymn to a purely earthly justice, of bread and work exclusively as a social requirement, and all without any view of the transcendent, incapable of looking beyond  its own nose  and rid the head  of ideological stereotypes of the real breath of faith," says the website Nocristianofobia.org .

"Where Might God Be, Who Stole Him?"

In the cliche ridden texts was asked: "Where might  God be, who stole him?" More correctly other questions might have   been put to: Did the archbishop Augustin Roberto Radrizzani of Mercedes-Lujan and the church rector, Father José Daniel Blanchoud OFM Cap. really believe that such a spectacle is greater than the glory of God? Was there really nothing more Catholic which could have been presented on this occasion?
These questions would urgently require answers not only for Lujan, but also of some European church, basilica or cathedral, where "Events" are given place, which are incapable of being reconciled by Canon 1210  of the Church's. Which  neither serves the glory of God nor does it strength and spread of the faith, but merely entertains people. [Can it be said to even be entertaining?]

  1. The Cirque d'Oddball, another gay gift to the Church. Merci, Ringmaster Blanchoud. Merci, Metteur en Scene Radrizzani. my compliments on the sleight of hand act.

  2. "In the Baroque era, High Mass "became a kind of sacred opera," during which the people in church would be busy with their own devotions, reciting the rosary. "They were united with the priest only by being in the same church with him." In endeavouring "to preserve old forms," the Vatican Congregation of Rites had brought about "the total impoverishment of the liturgy." Joseph Ratzinger in his Vatican II diaries.

    1. What has this to do with the news article, Gaybriel? Or is this, well, let's call it contribution, just more of your "ens wationis?"

    2. At least they were in the same' Church' with him - the priest. These days how many parishoners or priests are outside the Church because they are all actually disciples of Humanism? and not any interested in the 'burden of Christ'?

  3. And what on earth is an 'ens wationis,' Circus person? Perhaps it is a second hand slogan from the decayed scholasticism of the Roman School trotted out by the lazy minded to amuse their sloppy thinking acolytes.

  4. Irrelevant response. QED, lisping, highhanded, clown "theologian."

Please tell us what your original irrelevant pointless, out of context, trivial comment had to do with the news article? The crowd is on the edge of their seats! They are waiting...

  5. You would know all about clowns, crowds on the edge of their seats, wouldn't you Circus man?
Perhaps you might now demonstrate to your disciple just how clever you are and make the obvious connection between what Fr Professor Ratizinger wrote, the point of the article and the piece of flummery you first posted.

    1. QED. Answer the original question, if you can. Then you might get some respect.

    2. And now you want me to spoon feed you!
You make it clear that respect is an option for you. How frightfully convenient for you.

    3. You can't answer, because you'll prove yourself a clown. And you know it, at least you are that self-aware. QED.

    4. The big challenge for you Barnum will be to see if you can every break out of your own syllogisms with their flawed major premises. You might then come to the realisation that you are really not as smart as your disciple thinks you are.

    5. QED. A bit of humility might be in order for you, Gaybriel. Maybe you can even learn how to communicate civilly with all the correspondents to this blog. Oh, and stop whining, Tancred, if that is who you mean, is not my disciple, and has even deleted one of my comments, I don't know why, but it is his blog and that is good enough for me.

Funny how you felt the need to deflect the report of the odd goings-on at the Cathedral rather than defend the church that was erected to honor the Blessed Mother. Then there is also your venting your spleen at nuns. Pray to Mary for help to cure your problems.

    6. Gabby, I concur with Branum, you've stopped makin' sense (possibly not your fault since most Novus Ordo prelates have and they are the ones we are supposed to be 'having ears' for. Go back to the Code of Canon Law, 1917, and the Penny Cathechism and beautiful clear and faithful encyclicals of the Popes pre-VII - it's a 'Revelation'.

    8. Gaybriel, to employ a usage redolent of the modern commercial age, you really aren't winning many friends or influencing many people. You should ask yourself why. I will grant you admission to all the comments you made over the last 3 months and see if you would like them addressed to you, and count the posts where people tried to reason with you, talk nicely to you. You don't seem to see Our Lord in other people, especially those who turn the other cheek for you, do you? There must be a Lib Theology site (or somesuch, charity prevents me from referring to another recurrent theme) that would be more suitable to one of your temperament.

That said, I do have to admit, I would pay admission to watch as a cop writes you a traffic ticket after trying to give you a break.

    9. Oh, and speaking of scorched earth and ideological gated community, when was the last time you visited your local Chancery?

    10. Reason with you Barnum when you declared victory and took to your couch, and whatever before that, after a hiding you received the other day.
And so you are one of the site's gate keepers and monitors of ideological purity. How wonderfully convenient, Barnum.
And how cowardly of you to keep abusing my name while all the time speaking of 'respect' and 'seeing Our Lord in other people.' Do an examen on that one Barnum and you might, just might detect a hint of you colossal hubris.

    11. More of your ens wationis, eh? I just went and decided to call you by that name for no reason? And you are not proud of it, like you are of Fr. Wadcliffe and all the others of his like that you defend? You sit in the chair over the theological dunk tank and then you are surprised because Catholics throw baseballs?

    12. And all your pretence about being on top of logical discourse and homilizing about 'respect' and 'seeing our Lord in other people' and you haven't got the insight into self even to understand why you can't handle someone who makes you look very ordinary indeed.
Your hair trigger disciple and the whining camp follower must find you a great disappointment. No wonder you shy away from the company of adults.

    13. Barnum does suffer a little from "l'esprit de l'escalier," he fain admits. Now tell us, Gaybriel, mon vieux, what is the difference between "examen" and "examination of conscience?"

And then it strikes Barnum that it is you and your confreres and fellow travelers in the NewAmChurch, as the Wanderer calls it, that suffer from hubris. You all can't believe the fact that Humanae Vitae was right and your 1960's daydreams came a cropper. NewAmChurch is hubris, and reality is necessarily nemesis. Hence your lashing out at and lack of charity to commenters on this blog, as they for the most part remind you of some part of reality, your nemesis. One can try to make oneself conform to the reality God created, or one can try to make the reality conform to oneself. You, mon vieux, have opted for the latter, trying to make everyone, especially commenters on this blog, conform to Gaybreality.

Vite, vite dis-moi, comment dit-on "browbeat on" dans la langue francais? Je ne m'en doute pas que tu dis "examen" a cause d'amour du Petite Fleur, Ste Therese de Lisieux.

  8. I hate when people spam the combox with topics that, although maybe important or interesting, are total irrelevant. I usually delete them. And it's usually the same offender.

  9. Does the new church even pay any attention still to Canon Law? Most former holy places no longer have the red lamp in the signal area around the Tabernacle. And again, many tabernacles have disappeared with the red lamp. Current postmodernist theology circumnavigates climate change and ecumenism. The Revolution is reaching its nether zenith. Certainly, therefore, we must beg the necessary question, "Where might God be [and] who stole him?"

  12. Reminds me of a few years ago in Montreal at the Basilica de Notre Dame. They have a daily laser light show where they charge an admission fee. I did what any real Catholic would do, I ignored the money changer table they had set up and walked in. I was quickly chased down by an obnoxious excuse for female human lifeform. I just didn't want to end up in jail in Canada as an American citizen so I left. Too bad I didn't have the courage of our Lord to remove my belt and whip this harpee in the face and overturn her table. Shame on you Canada for letting that happen to one of your Basilicas. Just like for Ireland, chastistement's a comin'.
