"The Forbidden Rite": Part II

An Altar Used During Penal Times
[Katholisches] "The Forbidden Rite" describes a film for the defense of the Tridentine Rite, which has been published in two parts on the internet.  [The second part appeared on January 9th.]  "On a film, whose pictures speak for themselves", says the traditional site Messa in Latino.  "Forbidden, powerful, timeless, beautiful, unusual, unique", with these words the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite is described as it is shown in the film.  The film has been in existence already since the end of 2011 in the USA, but still is little known in the German speaking zone.

In the first part of the film, it says: Yet in 2007, history began to change. The Vatican unleashed this once almost forbidden rite, requiring that every bishop, priest, and diocese around the world welcome those who desired it, and help them to obtain it.
Despite the many efforts of the Pope, who himself practices this ancient rite and desires for it to become the norm in parishes, their persecutors still abound within the Church, continuing to negate them the best that they can.
The battle is only beginning, but it is one that will change the face of the Catholic Church, and that of the world, forever.
The film has presented the back ground of the Society of St. Peter, canonically established and founded in 1988.  The Society which has one of its International Seminaries in Wigratzbad in Bodensee, [but also in Denton, Nebraska at Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary] belongs to the so-called Ecclesia Dei Community, which is subject to the Papal Commission of the same name.

The Second part of the film "The Forbidden Rite" is dedicated to The Society of St. Peter. [There will be a Part III as soon as the producer can accomplish it]

  1. The short films are powerful and beautiful. Don't get me wrong, I love the FSSP. In fact, I wish I had nearby access to one of their apostolates. But what struck me was the implication that the traditional Mass has been saved because of the FSSP. I love them but I beg to differ. The traditional Mass and traditional Catholicism has been maintained and saved from extinction because of the SSPX. My opinion.

  2. Absolute DITTO, Elizabeth. Every word except for the last two word sentence. It is not merely your opinion but a fact. Releasing the Holy Mass from bondage was a stipulation of the Society of Saint Pius X in order for Rome's intentions to even begin to be taken serious.

    1. I neglected to mention the obvious....Archbishop Lefebvre. My apologies, Your Excellency! You and your Society saved the traditional Mass and tradition in general.

  3. I think the videos were well made. Not sure about using Carmina Burana for a Mass video. That aside, the implication that the FSSP is the lone defender of tradition in the Church is absurd. Many of the pictures used were not FSSP Masses. There were pictures of Institute Masses, diocesan, and if I am not mistaken, SSPX. Some were not even the traditional Mass. I understand artistic license, but if you are going to make it look like you are the last man standing, then you better be able to back that up, in this case, with pictures of you doing what you claim you are the only one doing (which is obviously not true, as these pictures demonstrate)

  4. Theres no proof the pope celebrates the TLM, whoever made this is obviously still buying the "the pope is secretly traditional line" which is nonsense

    1. There are some unsubstantiated rumors that something big is going down. Not sure what it is, but hope springs eternal.

  6. Thank you for posting on the videos that I created :) I appreciate the comments that I read as well.

A few things - there actually is no film being produced. I just created the short videos in a "trailer style" because I enjoy trailer style imagery (but if anyone wants to fund a film, I am up for it! :-).

The FSSP was also not meant to be proclaimed as the sole saviors of the Latin Mass - the segment on them was only meant to be the second part of the series. I was planning to do a series on the contributions of all the members of the Church, from the FSSP to the Institute of Christ the King, to women, etc.

I also was not speaking for the personal beliefs of the former Pope - just noting that he released Summorum Pontificum in 2007.

I am glad that you thought enough of the trailer style videos to mention them. I have since moved them to another location, if you are interested:

And since I do not have the time to do a video on all the orders as I planned, I consolidated the video on the FSSP into one on the traditional priesthood in general.

    Thanks and God bless! :)
