Unconfirmed: Father Fidenzio Volpi OFM. Cap Has Died

Edit: we are in the process of confirming, but the Apostolic Commissioner of the Franciscans of the Immaculate has died as we've been informed by a reader, who particularly asks for prayers:

"May I take advantage if this comment section to inform you and your readers of news which is beginning to come out, but which has not yet been confirmed (therefore completely unofficial)? It seems Fr Fidenzio Volpi O.F.M. Cap. has died today, 6 May 2015, Feast of St John before the Latin Gate. May I ask everyone to pray a little while to Ss. Francis and Claire to ensure that his time in Purgatory is as short as possible. "

Oremus!

May God have mercy on his soul. Very surprising. I hope this priest had maintained the practice of going to confession for his sins.....particularly those of the last 2 years or so.

Pope Francis, who himself according to the papers and internet has admitted in the last two days that he is not at all well, I hope has his soul ready to meet the Lord.

Francis deeply depended on this priest to press his radical agenda against the Franciscans of the Immaculate, a wonderful Order. I am sure this Pope is devastated and crying buckets of tears in the Vatican.

One of these days....not to long from now.....maybe only a matter of months...we'll get the news of the sudden and totally unexpected death of Pope Francis.
I can imaging it now.....people watching TV and a news report breaking in with a reporter saying "This is a special bulletin.....Pope Francis has unexpectedly died in the Vatican...:"

Be prepared everyone for the news

I'm afraid that this is not reality, the BoR has already chosen a jesuit of his own to succeed to fr. Volpi, anyway, may God have mercy on all of us....God bles+

On Messa in Latino a few minutes ago they reported that Fr Volpi has had a very serious stroke, but is still alive

People who have very serious strokes are usually dead within 1-2 days, if not hours after it happening. Perhaps Volpi is dead and they don't know it yet at Messa in Latino.

The Franciscans of the Immaculate web site,
http://tinyurl.com/n3wogwc has published a press release, saying:

The news of the death of Father Fidenzio Volpi, released today by some traditionalist oriented blogs, is false and devoid of any foundation. Our religious family is praying for the conversion of all those that are leading a campaign of increasingly unscrupulous slander and defamation that ultimately affects the Catholic Church itself.
Father Volpi, who today greets everyone with affection, has been taken ill in the evening of April the 29th and immediately hospitalized.
The Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate wish to express their debt of gratitude to Father Fidenzio Volpi along with the devout obedience to the Apostolic See.

Make of it what you will...

Unless I missed something, why wasn't anything said about Fr. Volpi on April 29, when this health issue supposedly happend.
And only now, that someone is bringing this into the light are they comming out in the open to make a comment. Sounds fishy to me.

I hope he hasn't died as we might lose our refugee Franciscans if the persecution is lifted!

Here's praying for his continued well-being in order that he has time to repent of the sacrileges he has perpetrated.

This communique is revolting. If this is what the Franciscans of the Immaculate have become, Vatican II stooges praising the man who destroyed their Order....and by extension Pope Francis (Apostolic See...LOL), then they deserve to die out.....as they are now in the process of doing.

DJR said...

The communique is most likely the words of only one person. Obviously some in the order will probably agree with its sentiments, while others probably will not.

A thief who has taken the lives of priest and thrown them away. Hmmm. God have mercy on those who could have been priests. I have little words for the thief except, you stole the lives of many from the gates of heaven!

IMHO, this is a shot over Francis' bow.

Today is Thursday. Pray for priests.

I don't mean to ask a stupis question, but what does IMHO mean?

I hope there are many shots over Francis' bow. I hope come October and the Synod, he will realize the storm of opposition to him he has awakened with his agenda and big mouth.
As I remember one contributor saying awhile back, the rebellion against him will be so tough to handle, that he'll either die suddenly, or quit, turn tail and run off....along with all his supporters.. Volpi will probably be dead though, if he isn't already.

EVERYONE PRAY FOR THE END OF THE REIGN OF POPE FRANCIS--------

I just read in the news headlines for the day, that this Pope has basically reversed Catholic Church teachings on abortion, and is sending out so called "Missionaries of Mercy".....priests to absolve women of the sin of having an abortion. In effect, he has removed abortion as a serious and grave sin.
This man is genuinely evil. And so are all his associates.
With this action, he is risking full scale rebellion in the Church against him...I hope it comes and blows him and his associates and supporters away.
We need a true Catholic Pope!

How about we just pray for the proper Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart as requested, and leave all the Luther nonsense of Francis to God?

Sandpiper said...

IMHO--"in my humble opinion".

Anonymous said...

Volpi has always been dead, from the very beginning of his appointment, and they never even knew it at Messa in Latino.

Anonymous said...

That's ridiculous. Who cares about Russia, when we have a non-Catholic Pope who is bent on destroying the Catholic Faith before he is through. What he has done today about abortion is a complete betrayal of the sacred values the Catholic Church has stood for for 2,000 years, up until the last 2 years ago.
He had ridiculed, made ignorant comments and insults towards traditional Catholicism and Catholic tradition for his entire term as Pope. He has betrayed the pro-/life movement and those noble values.
I hope the pro-life /family conference in the USA in September is cancelled in protest of this popes' actions. If it goes on, I hope the number who come out to see Francis is miniscule.

Quote from the news this AM:

"Archbishop Fisichella clarified in an interview with Italian news agency ANSA that priests will also be able to offer absolution not only to women who've had abortions, but also to the doctors that performed them."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shall all good Catholics just ignore this?
This Pope Francis is in for a rebellion on this issue. The great Italian Cardinal de Paolis already has stepped up against Francis this morning, saying that he hopes what the pope did will not cause confusion. Look for more to rebel. Let's get the ball rolling to get Francis out.

Your comment makes ZERO sense, 5:39!!

Gabriel said...

Agreed Michael. the Anon 5:39 person also has a deep-seated anger management problem. People, especially those calling themselves Catholic, whose lives are fuelled up on resentment, undifferentiated rage and monumental ignorance, are effectively nudging relentlessly towards not only the boundaries of sanity but of sede-vacantism.

By now someone should know............so is he dead or not?

If not, that's a lesson to learn not to post (on any site about anything), until the facts are there as back up. Not criticizing, just saying.

Not dead yet!

Those post abortive souls are allowed absolution when they repent of their sin.

What are you whining about, Gaybriel? You and your ilk have been virtual sedevacantists from Paul VI to Benedict XVI.

Though I think there are a lot of Unchristian comments directed at the Pope and Fr. Volpi, however much they may be in error.

Anonymous said...

Not sure if you really want to pray for the end of the reign of Francis, because that's when he hands over to the antichrist what's left of the church, after the abomination of desolation.
La sallette "Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of the antichrist".

Anonymous said...

Just some advice, be careful not to wish or hope for anything like that. His soul, like mine or yours can be saved, pray for his repentance.

Anonymous said...

Did Pope Francis make up that phrase?

Anonymous said...

Well Gabriel, if you're the example of who constitutes the Catholic Church today--arrogant, insulting, idolizing an equally arrogant and insulting pope, then I think sede-vacantism seems like a pretty good deal.

Gabriel said...

6:42 have you ever contemplated the idea that you might already be there?

Anonymous said...

Like you, Gabriel, I might simply, but in my case justifiably respond "QED". But let me be helpful to you.

Gabriel, you clearly have a psychological problem. But clearly to everyone else, you refuse--not can't, but refuse--to recognize that you do have a problem. That makes you dangerously like the kind of person that M. Scott Peck called "evil".

Now if you think that analysis is unfair, I suggest the following. Go show Pope Francis all that you've done on his behalf on this blog. Then wait and hear what he has to say to you.

@ Gabriel 10:14 PM

It's your fevered imagination that puts everyone else outside the Church, Gabriel. Have you ever contemplated what that says about you?
