Cardinal Schönborn to Announce "Restructuring" of Vienna Parishes

Now the Church has to be stuffed together, even in Vienna. Even the celebratory vocabulary can't wash away the sad reality.

(kreuz.net) Christoph Cardinal Schönborn of Vienna won't be naming any more priests "till further notice" to parishes.

The was covered by the newspaper 'Die Presse' yesterday in connection to insider information.

The reason for the measure: The pastor has rights against his Bishop, which the latter must respect.

It is primarily through the respect of these rights that priests are protected from the arbitrariness of their Old Liberal Bishops.

In the lead on the way down

This step will prepare the way for the coalescence of 660 parishes and for "new forms of community leadership".

The newspaper calls the measures a "blow for freedom".

"The announcement is the kernel of an unpublished pastoral letter, which will be read in all the churches of the Archdiocese of Vienna" -- says the anti-Church newspaper.

With this the Cardinal is opening the next chapter, "to makes his church fit for the future" -- gushed 'Die Presse' in the high estimation of the leftist Cardinal.

Nowhere else in Austria is the ecclesiastical decline greater than in the Archdiocese of Vienna.

The number of Catholics in the city of Vienna are estimated at about less than forty percent.

The left led Archdiocese is also in the lead for people leaving the Church throughout Austria.

The upcoming measures will lead to the situation where numerous parish churchs are transformed into filial churches.

"All alternations will serve a large number of living communities in their place" -- was the Cardinal's euphemistic way of putting it.

Actually, the Old Liberal Ideology is the opposite of an outwardly oriented, missionary Church.

They limit themselves to playing solitaire, inner-Church trench warfare and ecclesiastical solipsism.

This was according to the Old Liberal Viennese youth pastor, Fr. Gregor Jansen, for the Austrian news agency 'kathpress'.

In the last nine years there have been over fifty such Rock events with pancake "Eucharists".

The Viennese Cardinal Christoph von Schönborn stood for two of these sacrilegious, pancake disco Eucharists.

On 29 May the last sacrilegious disco Eucharist will be held in the open air.

Fr. Jansen has named no reason for the end.

Celebrate, why?


The disco-Eucharists have drawn massive criticism. They also hardened the reputation of the Viennese Cardinal as an Olde Liberal Church destroyer.

All the same it is yet to be seen if any reproof from Rome had brought their end.

It's probable that the organizers of the event up until now have lost their desire and there are no successors in sight.

Fr. Jansen explained that the originators only desired "a break".

They have to install for each and every Disco-Eucharist their own text in alleged "youth speech", find Rock Bands and install lighting in the various church spaces.

Fr. Jansen laments that the ending project had brought "much Holy Ghost".

The Rock Eucharists would have struck the "nerve of the time and the youth".

He believes that they would had "simply begun celebrating" -- he neglects to mention just what they were celebrating.

Mandatory Program

There are relatively many youth who come to these Disco-Eucharists.

Actually there's a reason for that: the events belong to the Mandatory Program for Confirmation of the Archdiocese of Vienna.

Now Fr. Jansen wants to make a request about the "Know How" to give Rock-Eucharists.

Ideas about how music or light effects of the Disco-Order of Mass were catching on in many Viennese Parishes -- so said Fr. Jansen.

Rock-Eucharists can also be organized in future without the motto 'find-fight-follow'.

Schönborn: Liturgical Reform is the Reinforcement of Old Traditions

Vienna (kath.net/KAP) The liturgical reform of the Second Vatican Council is not the weakening of traditions, rather their reinforcement. Cardinal Christoph Schönborn preached this on Sunday at the consecration of an altar in the Viennese parish church in Schottenfeld.

Before the reform the priest prayed at the high altar facing the same direction as the faithful to the east -- toward the rising of the sun which Christ symbolizes. The people's altar of the Liturgical Reform has now pushed the altar space in the foreground and posited another symbolism, said Schönborn: "We gather around the altar, around Christ." With this reform it is brought more clearly to expression, "that Christ is our center". That is the reason that the consecration of an altar has a special meaning, explained the Cardinal.

Schönborn preached among other things about the abuse cases in the Church and acknowledged the misdeeds "even of us priests". Above all the Church is concerned in the fugure to gather itself around Christ and focus its life on Him. Then one doesn't have to be afraid of the future, said the Cardinal.

New Cloister in Vienna for The Sisters of the Lamb

In the Briggittenau there is a "little cloister" -- The financing of the building comes completely from donations, the foundation will be followed by a contribution from the Archdiocese of Vienna.

Vienna (kath.net/PEW) In Vienna- Brigittenau there is a new Religious Order:  In the Dammer Street there will be built  a "little cloister" of the "Little Sisters of the Lamb". The corresponding approval has been taken care of.  The building for the wooden frame structure should begin in the spring.  The Sisters should be celebrating Christmas in their new cloister.

The new cloister will have two ground level courtyards and an additional chapel connected to the street.  The financing of the construction comes exclusively from donations.  The building has been ordered by the Archdiocese of Vienna. 

As a newer branch of the Dominican order the Little Sisters of the Lamb want "simple clean homes" built, in order to "live among the people" and make people "from every walk of life" welcome. That they are building their new cloister in the 20th district with its diverse population is especially interesting for the Sisters, because they offer a "wide field for friendship and meeting".  The Sisters would like to be a "sign of friendship and peace of God" in a multicultural area: "We are really happy in our new neighborhood."

Till now the Sisters have set up housekeeping in the former Carmelite church on the Taborstrasse.  Even here -- in an environment that is very strongly marked by Jewish and Islamic families -- they have already begun with "many signs of friendship".

The "Community of the Lamb" is in nine countries with a membership of 130 Little Sisters and 30 Little Brothers.  In solidarity with all of the poor of the world the Brothers and Sisters have chosen a simple life.

Since 1996, Cardinal Schonborn has been ecclesiastically responsible for the order.  Since then the Community has presented itself in Vienna.  The Little Brothers and Sisters of the Lamb bestow their power of prayer to all people, who they meet every day and who confide in them.

Cardinal Ranjith is Talking about the "Elimination" of the New Mass

In Old Liberal Vienna, a Pius-Priest may not enter any ecclesiastical buildings. Thirty Diocesan Priests from Catholic Italy have spoken against this.

The Bishop is pleased that Rome is generally prepared to discuss the non-dogmatic Pastoral Council.

Longing for the Catholic Teaching

In the lecture he mentioned that he was able to speak with almost thirty Italian Diocesan priests in the Diocese of Albano near Rome.

He is said to have asked the priests what they expect from the SSPX and figured they would say "the Mass".

Actually, the priests wanted "the Doctrine" from the Society.

Msgr Fellay is convinced that priests  who return to the Immemorial Mass of All Ages, will also come back to the Catholic doctrine -- but "from far away".

For they knew despite years of academic study nothing of God.

The "New Mass" has Outlived Itself

In Rome Bishop Fellay also met "very good people" -- priests, even Bishops and apparently Cardinals.

The Bishop named none.

Msgr Fellay cited however a word from Cardinal Malcom Ranjith of Sri Lanka.  He said to him: "one can not eliminate the New Mass with one stroke."

It takes more levels and will require twenty years, a whole generation.

As a step in the direction of improvement Bishop Fellay indicated the Motu Proprio, 'Summorum Pontificum'.

Unrepentant Thug Condemned -- Vienna Pro-Lifers Win Legal Battle

A milestone in the case law:  For a year now law breakers in Vienna -- unapprehended by the police - -  continued their dark work.

[kreuz.net Vienna] On Monday a Viennese district court condemned the thug Andreas T., who worked for the Viennese child murderer Christian Fiala.  The criminals were found guilty of three crimes.

This was according to video site 'gloria.tv'.

For years Andreas T. had been paid by child butcher Fiala for that, to terrorize praying sidewalk counselors.

The comrades of the undercutting Vienese authorities who have stood till now always on the side of the psychoterrorists.

Actually now the judge had no choiceL:  the attacks of Andreas T. were filmed with a hidden camera.

The Abortion Employees Were Violent

On Monday four offenses were handled.  In reality Andreas T. had been responsible for countless offenses in the last years.

Thus he cut the rosaries of two praying sidewalk counselors.  One of the attacks were filmed.

On the next day Andreas T. kicked against the back of a life defender's leg.

Two of those kicks were filmed with a camera.

The stricken life defender made a complaint about the injury he received on his back leg.  A Doctor documented a bruise.

A fourth crime was reported as a theft: on the 15th of June 2009, Andreas T robbed the victim of his wallet, which he took from the life defender's jacket pocket, for a hidden camera.  

He Lied to the Court

Despite the filmed data Andreas T attempted to deny the charges -- to the anger of the judge.

So he argued to the end that he hadn't stolen the gold purse.

His lie:  the visible brown square wallet he said was a folded flier.

The judge did allow himself to be held as stupid: a theft of a wallet also goes to self-enrichment -- he explained to the contrary.

The website 'gloria.tv' shows excerpts immediately preceding the theft:  they show how he takes a wallet from the life defender's jacket -- and not some flier.

On the video there are concidentally also excerpts, where Andreas T. steals yellow fliers from the jacket pocket --  a crime, that was not handled on Monday morning.

On the face of it the evidence must have finally implicated the terrorist in a kick.

Previous he had still stolidly insisted  not to have trod on the leg of his victim, rather on an "object" before the leg.

The pained expression of his victim, explained the judge cynically, must have been from the "wind" hitting him.

The judge had to explain to the liar that a confession could serve as a mitigating factor.

Thereupon Andreas T. withdrew to consult with his lawyer.

Finally he insisted begrudgingly: "The video said that I had stepped on him, therefore I had probably stepped on him."

His defender encouraged him to more clearly state his confession.  First he could then convince himself to tell the truth: "I did step on him from behind."

This confession forced by facts, begruding confession was greeted by the judge as mitigating.  He gave failed, in any case, to give any contrition.

In aggravation he indicated that there were more punishable acts to come.

The judge condemned the thug to 100 daily rate for every 2 Euros plus legal costs.

Further, he was required to pay the life defender damages.

He Fought the Good Fight: Professor Robert Prantner RIP

The deceased was presented during his life as the degreed Conservative of Austria to the public -- and usually not to the pleasure of the old Liberal Bishops.

(kreuz.net) On 10. December the worthy Austrian theologian, social ethicist and publicist Robert Pratner died.  he was 79 years old.  

Prantner studied philosophy, theology and political science after his graduation in 1949. 

He received his degree in Political Science involving work in Civil Law and International Relations.  Later he became a Doctor in theology.

The deceased was also an honorary doctor of Social Science.

From the year 1955 he was the personal scientific colleague of the former Chancellor of Austria, Julius Raab († 1964).

After his withdrawal from politics, Pratner lead his office from 1961 to 1964.

From 1974 to 1982 he was Professor for Ethics and Social Studies to the Philosophic-theological Order College of the Augustinian Choir at Stift Klosterneuburg in Vienna.

In 1982 he was occupied as the Professor for Ethics and Social Studies at the neo-Conservative Philosophic-theological University of the Cistercians at Stift Heiligenkreuz. He became an emeritus in 1998.

The deceased was the excellent ambassador and agent of the Sovereign Order of Malta.

Prantner was closely connected to the upper-Austrian garden suburb Aigen at the 'Theological Summer Academy".

In  2002 he was recognized with the Austrian Award for Science and Art 1st Class.

he published numerous works.  In 2004 his memoir appeared under the title "Between the Playing Fields and the Vatican".

His memorial Mass will take place on 21. December at 11 O'Clock in the Parish Church of the market town of Hinterbrühl  17 kilometers southwest of Vienna.

Finally the Cardinal named the old Liberal Pastoral Theologian Veronika Prüller-Jagenteufel as the new director of the Pastoral Office.

The current old Liberal director, Fr. Michael Scharf, will be the Spiritual Assistant to the Pastoral Office.

Everything is on a Course in the Direction of Decline

With the naming of Mrs Prüller-Jagenteufel, Cardinal Schönborn has established a decisive course to put women in positions of responsibility normally held by clerics.

Already, women head the Financial Office, the Office of Schools, the Business and Accounting Departments of the Archdiocese of Vienna in the old Liberal decline.

Mrs. Prüller-Jagenteufel worked as Assistent and received her credentials studying under the anti-Church Viennese Pastoral Theologian, Fr. Paul Micheal Zulehner.

She was decisively involved with the preparation and execution of the Cardinal's anti-Church penance and protest liturgy with anti-Catholic Society, "We Are Church" in the Spring of 2009.

The event served to play up the infrequent homosexual abuses of children in the ecclesiastical area.

Vienna: 500 Poles Are Opposed to Giving Church Away

The Archdiocese of Vienna would like to give a church to the Serbian-Orthodox Community of Vienna. Now the blossoming Catholic Polish Community of the Parish is circulating a petition -- and a demonstration is also possible.

Vienna [kath.net] In the Archdiocese of Vienna there is upset over the planned giving of a church in the Parish of Neulerchenfeld to the Serbian Orthodox Community as reported by "Krone". The Parish has been for years the establishment of a Polish Community, which has grown considerably and are now opposing the handing over of their church. The Polish Community is in contrast to other "normal Parishes" with more than 500 Faithful, full every Sunday.

A massive opposition to the decision of the Archdiocese is promised. In addition to a petition is being considered an active demonstration. The Polish pastor: "There is a deeply rooted community here, which can't just be replanted wherever."

But Father Mertes unperturbedly continued to discuss the Cardinal: "For that reason I'd like to thank you from my heart."[For putting possible sexual predators on these boards.]

The anti-Church media propaganda earlier this year was described by the naive Priest as "storm and cleaning".

The real problems, which the German conciliar Church in the past, which has led to bitter divides, the priest whisked under the table.

For the church sits in the foreground of the Concordat of the Austrian Republic with the Vatican, securing rights of the chapel. Daily Masses have been celebrated there for over fifty years.

In any case, Cardinal Schönborn will relinquish these rights without a song or a cry.

Clearly, the Comrades have pulled the reigning Cardinal over the table in a no-fuss discussion in private.

A speaker of the civil initiative to save the chapel declared in the meantime, that the initiative will be praying for "saintly shepherds".

As Kreuz opines here, "Perhaps it's better to anger stupid Neo-conservatives who are powerless than to anger the "Old Liberals", who possess the amassed power of the world media establishment."

Kreuz mentions that there will be two Disco "Masses" this Sunday in Vienna with the theme, "chase out the gray".
