Cardinal Schönborn: "Will There be an Islamic Conquest of Europe?"

Austrian Cardinal Christoph Schönborn made the warning on Sunday during the church festival "Holy Name of Mary", which was first introduced 333 years ago in gratitude for the victory over the Ottomans in the Battle of Vienna.

According to the Archdiocese of Vienna, the cardinal said: "Will there be an Islamic conquest of Europe? Many Muslims want that and say: Europe is at the end."

He asked God to have mercy on Europe and to show mercy to its people, which he said "are in danger of forfeiting our Christian heritage".

Schönborn explained that people could already feel this loss, "not only economically, but above all, in human and religious matters".

The cardinal's statement came as many places across Austria commemorated the 333rd anniversary of the Battle of Vienna. During the battle on 11-12th September 1683, combined Christian forces defeated over 100,000 soldiers from the Ottoman Empire.

Müller to Mainz, Schönborn and Maradiaga to Rome? Who is Playing the Game of Rumors?

(Rome) At certain intervals the rumor mill surrounding the Roman Curia will run. Currently, there are several speculations, of which the most important would be particularly worrisome. Currently, however, it is unclear who is playing what game with the rumors, and which part of the gossip has veracity.

The previous Prefect, Cardinal Gerhard Müller, it is rumored, will be the new Bishop of Mainz and  succeed there Cardinal Karl Lehmann, who was retired last May 16 with the completion of his 80th year. The new Cardinal Prefect of the Roman Congregation is supposed to be Vienna Archbishop Christoph Schonborn.

The fact is that the relationship between Pope Francis and Cardinal  Müller is severely strained, while the President of the Austrian Bishops' Conference is currently experiencing a flight of fancy in the papal favor. Both such contrasting movements have not the least to do with the Post-Synodal Exhortation Amoris laetitia. It's not about questions of sympathy but  a tangible and fundamental factional dispute. Behind this is the question of where Pope Francis will lead the Church. The Pope has ignored Cardinal Müller, who recently, along with the entire CDF, recently attacked. though only indirectly, the unassailable Pope Francis, but with a breathtaking statement, accusing the Pope's  ghostwriter, Titular Archbishop Victor Manuel Fernandez, of being "heretical". The three magisterial documents by the Pope: Evangelii gaudium (2013), Laudato si (2015) and Amoris laetitia (2016)  all come from the pen of Fernandez.

Cardinal Schönborn

Cardinal Schönborn in turn was also rumored in 2005 to succeed  Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger in the CDF. However, the German pope decided otherwise. In 2012,  the Vienna archbishop hailed the decision, to appoint the then Bishop of Regensburg, Gerhard Ludwig Müller, as the new CDF, as an "excellent choice". Since then, however, much has changed, especially the Pope in Rome.

Opaque backers and intentions

The rumor is to be treated with caution: First, the explosive reshuffle has been disseminated by the progressive media. In German-speaking parts it's KNA, the press agency of the German Bishops' Conference was responsible. Secondly, KNA published its information on the basis of information  published in the faraway Malaysia Catholic Herald newspaper of the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur. Verification was not even possible on demand. The probability that a diaspora institution would serve as the first media reporter of so far-reaching a reshuffle is not impossible, but extremely low.

The closer one comes to the progressive Spanish news site Religion Digital, which is known for its notorious papolatria since the recent conclave. It took over  the role of KNA in the Spanish-speaking world and maintains good contacts with the Honduran Cardinal, Óscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga. The progressive organ headlined several times in recent months, with headlines in the way: "Francis Builds, Müller Destroys."

Rylko back to Poland, Maradiaga still on his second attempt to Rome?

The rumors of personnel changes affect not only the cardinals Müller and Schönborn. According to the same source, the 77-year-old Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, the longtime first secretary of Pope John Paul II., is to be replaced as Archbishop of Krakow by Cardinal Stanislaw Rylko, the current President of the Council of the Laity. This would be due to the dissolution of the Council for the Laity, whose responsibilities will be incorporated into the upcoming September 1 Congregation for Family, Laity and Health Pastoral. The first prefect of the new congregation would be likely to be the Pope confidant Cardinal Óscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga of Honduras.

 Cardinal Maradiaga

Maradiaga, who received the title of "Vice Pope"  because of his euphoric appearance in the first months of the current pontificate is coordinator of the C9-Cardinal Council in support of Pope Francis in the reform of the Curia and the guidance of the universal Church. Recently, however, it was become pretty quiet around the Honduran Cardinal.

In 2010, he was already being talked about as candidate for a Prefect of a Roman Congregation. He was to take over the management of the Congregation of Religious. However,   the Brazilian Joao Braz de Aviz was appointed, who has been hunting the  Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate since 2013. Stubborn voices wanted to know if Cardinal Maradiaga had recommended himself recommended for the Roman post.

Cardinal Angelo Amato, the current prefect of the Congregation of Saints is to be replaced because of his age of 78 years by the current substitutes of the Cardinal State Secretariat, Curia Archbishop Angelo Becciu. New assistant and thus right hand of Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin will be the current apostolic nuncio in Lebanon, Titular Archbishop Gabriele Caccia.

The next few days and weeks will bring clarity. Until then, the rumor mill should be given little credence, since for the time being things remain opaque, what game is to being played at and which part could be true. The fact is that the rumors claiming personnel switches around the CDF would drive the wedge of Pope Francis and his entourage deeper into the body of the Church. In the past few days another German cardinal, Cardinal Walter Brandmüller, warned of  the "very great danger" of a schism.

the Vienna Cardinal Christoph Schönborn (71) is supposed to switch to the Vatican and take over the management of the CDF

Kuala Lumpur (kath.net/KNA) Accordjng to a report by the Malaysian Catholic weekly "Herald" Pope Francis plans personnel changes within the Curia. This suggests that the former prefect of the CDF, Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller (68) will occupy the See if Mainz long since vacated by Cardinal Karl Lehmann. In return, the Viennese Cardinal Christoph Schönborn (71) is to switch to the Vatican and take over there, the management of the CDF, the Journal reported over the weekend, citing "well-informed Vatican sources" on its website.

There were indications that the pope also plans the appointment of Cardinal Stanislaw Rylko (71), Polish cardinal and President of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, Archbishop of Krakow. He would assume the office of the 77-year-old Stanislaw Dziwisz, who has already reached the age limit for resignation.

The paper refers to a decree by the Pope, according to which the Council for the Laity and for the Family will be merged on 1 September into a new office. Its statutes were published by the Vatican in early June. According to "Herald" it will be incorporated into an office of pastoral health care. The new formation will receive the status of a congregation with the decision making power. As head of the new Congregation, the Honduran Cardinal Óscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga (73) has been selected, a close confidant of the pope and head of the Cardinal Council for a reform of the Curia.

Another of the personnel according to the  "Herald" referrs to the Congregation of the Causes of Saints. The Vatican Interior Minister, Archbishop Angelo Becciu (68) is supposed to replace the earlier head, Cardinal Angelo Amato (78). The director of the Vatican Secretariat of State is to be the former apostolic nuncio in Lebanon, Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Caccia (58).

"Cardinal Schönborn Like You've Never Seen Him Before" -- Visits Sikh Temple

"Cardinal Schönborn like you've never seen him before"--
The Cardinal sitting cross legged with orange head scarf in a
Sikh Temple in Vienna

(Vienna) "Cardinal Christoph Schönborn live you've never seen him before: cross-legged with an orange stole as a headscarf. Occasion: Schönborn attended the Sikh temple in Meidling (12th district) on Sunday, in which he paid tribute to the freedom of religion. It was the first official visit to this religious community" reported the Austrian complimentary newspaper Heute.
The Sikh religion was founded just over 500 years ago by their first Guru (master) Nanak in the Punjab. Nanak was born into a Hindu family and belonged to the caste of traders. The Punjab had been subjected in the early 13th century by Muslim sultans.  Nanak attempted to overcome this opposition and the Hindu caste system  through a combination of Hinduism and Islam in a new syncretic religion. So he gathered the Sikhs around himself, which means "student."  Nanak's birthplace is now in Pakistani Punjab, the Golden Temple of Amritsar, the center of Sikhism, in contrast to the Indian Punjab.
Worldwide, the number of Sikhs is estimated at around 25 million. 80 percent of them live in India, and three quarters of them in the state of Punjab. The Punjab is the historic and current center of Sikhism. Only two percent of Indians are Sikhs, but almost 60 percent of the inhabitants of the Punjab. In the partition of British India,  which evenly divided the Punjab between India and Pakistan, there was an exchange of populations by expulsion, deportation and resettlement. Since then, there are hardly any Sikhs living in the Pakistani Punjab.

Around 10,000 Sikhs in Austria

Cardinal Schönborn in Vienna's Sikh temple

The number of Sikh people living in Austria is estimated at 10,000, just over half of whom live in Vienna. The number of almost 3,000 in the last state religious survey of 2001 is long outdated. In the past 15 years, their share has more than tripled.
Because what was written in 2001 about the religion is no longer applicable, there is no certain information about the rapid growth of these and other foreign religions. The lack of surveys, which is based on the fact that religion is a "private matter,"  makes the quick shifts caused by mass immigration invisible.

Murder of a guru in Vienna

On 24 May 2009 the Austrian Sikh community was put in the spotlight as a guru of  the Ravidas sect was murdered in their temple in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus (15 district of Vienna).  Sant Rama Nand was revered by his followers as a "saint." Six Sikhs attacked the worshipers present in the temple with daggers and firearms. The guru was murdered while 15 worshipers and an attacker were injured, some seriously.
The conflict had to do with the caste system. The victims were members of the lower caste Dalits, the untouchables. The attackers, also Sikhs, belonged to a higher class. For them, the Ravidasis are a despicable sect because they adore living gurus as "saints" and not just the ten classical gurus who lived from 1500 to 1800. The Ravidasis are branched mainly from the caste of Dalits, which makes the religious conflicts a caste conflict, although the Sikhs officially reject the Hindu caste system,  the Indian legal system also really doesn't recognize it either, daily life in Indian society, which includes the Sikhs, however, continue to be determined by the caste system.
The violence sparked a discussion that   cultural, historical and political conflicts are also imported by mass immigration.

No recognized religious community

Sikhs have arrived especially since the 80's, as the newspaper publisher Mediaprint procured exemptions from the Residence Act so it could procure cheap labor for its newspaper distribution. Most remained, brought their families and received Austrian citizenship.
In Vienna there are two Sikh Temples, which  Cardinal Schönborn visited, one in Meidling (12th district) and another in Donaustadt (22nd district). Plus, there's the aforementioned Ravidas Temple in the 15th district. The Ravidasis split off after the assassination of the Sikhs and see themselves since then as an independent religious community.
Neither the Sikhs nor Ravidasis enjoy neither the status of a recognized, nor even of a registered religious community in Austria. Both are organized as "religious associations."

Grotesque Political Endorsement by Cardinal Schönborn and Catholic Societies for Agnostic and Freemason

On Sunday, May 22, there will be a runoff for presidential election in Austria held. The Austrian state is elected directly by the people. In the first round on April 24, none of the six candidates had obtained the required absolute majority. Voters will decide on Sunday between the two strongest candidates of the first round. By far the most votes were received by the 45-year old liberal vice-president of the National Council (parliament), Norbert Hofer (FPÖ) who had received 35 percent. He was followed by the 72 year old former party leader of the Greens, Alexander Van der Bellen, with 21 percent. The candidates of the two governing parties SPÖ and ÖVP each did not receive more than 11 percent of the vote in the runoff vote.

Comments from Martha Burger Weinzl

The ballot will decide formally between two opposition candidates. In reality, it was something like a choice for or against an entire power system. This is evident in that the representatives and beneficiaries of the system almost presented a block behind the green candidate, an agnostic and a Freemason - and also the Catholic Church. A culmination which can only be explained by the fear of a loss of power.

The election is an Austrian chapter with great importance for other countries, particularly the Federal Republic of Germany. It's an election that makes clear a frightening degree of disintegration of the Catholic Church.

From neutrality to open partisanship

For a long time the Catholic Church was deliberately neutral and aloof. Voting recommendations were not given any longer. This is something of yesteryear, resonating the with intimation of a sinister tone. The subliminal message of the direction "left half of the Empire," as they say in Austria, wanted to say you have learned from history. This is known to be the biggest lie of all lies in history.

It became obsolete more recently even with a neutrality. This prohibits the "institutional" Church and its sub-organizations, from recommending the "mature" faithful, to "be led" by their crosses at the ballot box.

Before the decisive second ballot of the Austrian presidential election, however, all these self-imposed inhibitions have fallen. This has revealed what was concealed before. The decline of belief in recent decades is glossed over by many, is followed in parallel and quietly with a political reversal of the Church's leadership personnel. Whoever watches the situation closely, would not be surprised. Whoever accepts the false thought control or mutilates himself, must get lost in it at some point himself.

Affinity for the Greens -- Do-gooders rather than Christians
Alexander Van der Bellen (left) and Norbert Hofer

The crucial premise: The Catholic Church in Austria, at any rate the Cardinal who's led it for 20 years in Vienna, holds with the government. The party of the Catholics was actually the Austrian People's Party, but because of the red-ruled city of Vienna and the long exclusively red government of 1970-1983 the Church "could" work with the SPÖ. And then also, ran many young Blacks to the Greens. The ÖVP responded, toothlessly and tried resignedly to chasing after the zeitgeist. This migrated all voters to the Freedom Party, which knew how to occupy the cleared fields.

The 1968 student revolt showed the neo-Marxists knew best how to convert it into hard political coin. The tangible result is the Green party. Since, it has been over-represented in the media, education and (staatsalimentierter) cultural scene, they could defer their spiritual influence, tolerated by the SPÖ, beyond party lines. Their name is already a misnomer and one of which there are several. Another is that 68 had indeed considered and demonstrated for the social question, but these were not the working sons on the barricades, but the children of the bourgeoisie. Today, children from SPÖ families go to the Greens, but the influx carried out of the ÖVP families takes place earlier and faster. It is not surprising, therefore, that the Catholic nomenclature, that hydra-like, Church-tax funded apparatus is already dripped mentally into the green pool. The green "Catholics" have not converted the Greens. They wouldn't want that anyway. It was the Greens who supported a part of the Catholic Church into apostasy. Those are precisely who takes and holds offices, does not speak for the selection process in the Church.

The "green Catholics" are like the fifth column of a strange way of thinking, which was injected into the Church. A school of thought which represents a self-imposed moral tyranny that has taken confidence with the term "do-gooders", but has less and less to do with with Christianity - which is clearly recognized by every believer. Non-Christians, but just do-gooders. The term does make the difference.

Keeping in Power: choice recommendations, which should not be

Cardinal Schonborn, his mother Elenore Countess Shchonborn,
Federal President Heinz Fischer (SPO) and his wife in the
Hofburg

Cardinal Schönborn, Archbishop of Vienna and Dominicans is used to dealing with the red power. The preservation of power, i.e. the upper class for generations has practiced survival, was taken by him like an elite calculus with his mother's milk. He therefore also has to take part in the current presidential election campaign.

He would not issue voting advice, but he let the eager media know, presenting a series of word ciphers, which consisted in a single recommendation to vote for the Green candidate, Van der Bellen. Uninhibitedly the Cardinal said in conclusion, that he thereby wished of course to make "no election recommendation."

Such things were replayed in recent days many. With only two candidates who face each other in a runoff, it's an easily workable, but a not too honest and not particularly decent, method.

The closer the election date [today], the more the nervousness. What is readable is the Catholic organizations, who followed the example of the cardinal, and dutifully made overt or covert election recommendations. Striking this: the closer the election the more direct the choice recommendation; and: all is has had the effect of "outing" Catholic associations who advertise exclusively for the green candidate. "Neutrality" is yesterday.

Keeping in Power: Gay Green Light Instead of Right to Life

Many say: "pluralism", "tolerance", "diversity", "diversity", "democracy" which are also just empty slogans to the official Catholic apparatus, which are meant as decorations for manipulating a single consensus. There must not be a deviation or dissent. There is a frightening lockstep, with such impudence as has not been since before 1968 in a dream.

Whoever is for the killing of unborn children, but finds the green light to gay important, whoever has contempt for his own, but values the stranger, has arrived mentally with the Greens. The vote recommendations of the Catholic organizations confirm: A weak Christianity becomes the plaything of other ideologies, especially the prevailing.

This was demonstrated in recent months already with an undifferentiated attitude to migration. Cardinal Schönborn even took to criticizing neighboring countries Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, who all shows that they know the word responsibility and common good, and whose bishops are of a very different opinion, to the archbishop of Vienna.

Cardinal and Catholic Associations for Agnostics and Freemasons

Election recommendations are not bad per se. But the self-imposed "neutrality phase" makes the Van der Bellen recommendation astonishing after all.

Catholic organizations, association leaders, media, the archbishop of Vienna and president of the Austrian Bishops' Conference engage in election recommendations for an agnostic and a Freemason? This is a fact in Novum. It is the signal that the mental breakdown, which has taken hold of the Catholic Church in Austria, has reached an alarming level.

The Green candidate informed the Atheistic Religious Society in Austria from his campaign office:

"Alexander Van der Bellen is not a believer in the narrow sense. He advocates a clear and strict separation of church and state, from politics to school."

According to Van der Bellen he was a staunch defender in the television debates of the abortion ideology and emphatically defended a "free access" to abortion. His "motivation" in the migration is shattered against his icy intransigence when it comes to abortion. The unborn children are engaged literally in life or death and not real or pretended need, to economic migration and population replacement for the multicultural reconstruction of Europe. Of asylum as temporary hospitality for those truly in need of protection, the green candidate never spoke anyway. Everything points for him as his supporters, to the promotion of permanent population shifts of the resident population. Ultimately, even the so-called "refugee crisis" is just another, of already numerous harmful sociopolitical experiments that were not all invented by the Greens, but are supported by them with enthusiasm.

The lodge's spirit

In television debates, Van der Bellen has been charged several times by his liberal rivals as a Freemason. In ATV he responded by saying: "This corresponds to the facts"  yet he has denied it other times. The lodges membership was confirmed in Innsbruck, and already goes back to the 70s. It was then that Van der Bellen's real academic career began. Even if one wanted to grant his occasional downplaying, apologetic statement, believing he was "but resigned sometime mid-80s", stating that he was still a university professor in Vienna, paid its annual membership fee and thus out, but included in the lists of the beaproned brothers. At least this raises the question of how the lodge's membership favored his career to associate professor in Innsbruck and then to full professor in Vienna. It's known that masons skillfully ignite smoke bombs around their lodge membership. Yet what is decisive is not the masonic apron, but the lodge's spirit: Van der Bellen has never set aside the thinking of the Loge, as his opinions daily prove.

Now what connects the cardinal and the Catholic appartschiks with him? The Vienna archbishop could refer to his Masonic father. The Lodge brothers appreciate this and have not forgotten it. Or are they already familiar in collaboration? Finally, several Red Presidents belong to the Lodge. However, the reality is far more prosaic next to personal nuances.

Catholic administrative personnel and the discernment of spirits

The Church, which has since the 60's, engaged in self destruction, which was accomplished by internal Church complicity with the relativistic secularization of society, has really let the mental dams break. Especially discernible in Catholic circles is that the difference between parties has become only rudimentary. The 68ers have successfully combated the divine and natural order, which includes the morality that corresponds to the nature of man. They have cunningly replaced it with a pseudo-morality that is worst of all, a caricature, than what Catholic morality and the church was assumed to have at that time.

Morality is not equal to morality. The Catholic morality is not the morality of the lodge. That is not something, however, readily distinguished by the heads of Catholic Organisations. To keep it that way actually helps the cogent reason the Church's drift to the left and to the open partisanship toward an attitude completely a dubious and incompatible with Christianity.

The justification of the Catholic Women's Movement (kfb), with which it calls for the election of Van der Bellen, is downright outrageous: though the liberal spokeswoman of the kfb should logically put her endorsement behind Norbert Hofer, who is a practicing evangelical Christian, while Van der Bellen agnostic, and as the former socialist Federal Minister, belongs to no church.

Of this they are angry, because they would not have wanted to say this at all, explained the kfb in "logical" consequence, that is the reason there is only an open call to vote for Van der Bellen. At the same time, the Catholic Association Women criticized a "manipulative communication style." Such is not noticed by them otherwise, not even at the ORF with its manipulative Church, abortion and currently also on election, coverage. For those who think the same, it probably really does not stand out.

The system preserving itself

It is about the preservation of the system. In the 70 years since the war, Austria has established a system that has a network of parties, of narrower and wider front organizations, groups and circles who exercise power. This red-black system, has been arranged by the Catholic Church. From time to time they have even been dependent on this system. There are many Green, excuses and conveniences, to solidify a system.

Nothing must be said against the predominant red-black alliance. It is the government alliance. From this comes the money for kindergartens, schools, hospitals, etc. The Greens are counted in the red part of the Alliance since the 90s and are considered in some circles as the "finer" variant to articulate its proximity to the system, without needing to be directly the SPÖ or the ÖVP. They are considered as the really electable among them, by those who are wealthy enough to imagine that therefore already can afford experiments the whole country.

This is also the reason for the Church's silence on leftist social experiments, the silence for mass murder of innocent children, to homosexualization and genderisation. The "social consensus" should not be disturbed. So it is of the ÖVP, and those which in turn interact wich the Archbishop's Palace in Vienna. It takes place at the elite level. Alexander Van der Bellen takes sociopolitical issues that are diametrically the opposite of what the Catholic Church teaches or should teach in Austria, but only does partly due to the system.

Norbert Hofer positions represented: no "business as usual" in the issue of immigration, strengthening direct democracy and mandatory referendums on major issues, a no to TTIP, promoting child-rich Austrian families, demand for another EU to oppose terror. This is especially true for his announcement, if necessary, to dismiss the government, and leave it at a standstill and the government, whereas previously, the President was reliable as a guarantor of the system.

Grotesque alliances for green candidates

Anyway, no one should say, the Cardinal and the Association of Catholics don't know what they do. They know it very well, and they do it willingly. Their recognition and place in the system are at stake. With the election of the liberal candidates many things would change. It would be high time. But system representatives have to fear a loss of influence by any change that is not controlled by themselves. This explains the strange, sometimes grotesque, and unholy alliances that have been forged prior to 22 May, the day of election.

It is the part of desperate fear system representatives have of a loss of benefice, their personal benefices. This also explains the snakes of the state manipulators who willingly jostle to make public endorsements for Van der Bellen. This also explains the attitude of most mass media, who have received the lucrative advertising contracts from the government and government-related fields.

There is a whole system of power and cliques, which are threatened with deselection this Sunday. Some feel this in their bones. That Church and Catholic association representatives can be carried away by such a one-sided political partisanship without distress, on behalf of the Church, is close to irresponsible abuse. It does it do great harm to Austria and Austrians, but especially the Catholic Church.

That explains why so many the ranks and names - and even part of this system - or those otherwise who have no rank and name, would move all the levers to guide to "their" victory. According to the state radio ORF "all" are for the green candidate. This is why shrewd observers wonder why Van der Bellen did not achive a high absolute majority in the first ballot. What it means: not "all" Austrians are for Van der Bellen, but all do-gooders. The distinction is important to understand what is happening in the public sphere. The democratic education conceals the difference between elites and mass. A mistake. It's important not to exclude the possibility in one's own thinking, especially not ignore the elites, or their influence.

In the SPÖ headquarters they had to quickly install a new chancellor before the runoff election, because after that things might not go so easy. Coincidence? Not at all.

Norbert Hofer: "The system is not important to me, it's the people who are important."

The liberal federal presidential candidate, Norbert Hofer, said in a duel with ATV, that he could actually rather put up placards throughout Austria, because it explains much and answered succinctly:

"The system not important to me, it's the people who are important."

On election night, it will be seen whether the system elite can force its will through brute force and the manipulative use of the state broadcasting system again, or if the Austrians have preserved in their majority to decide freely and with common sense.

Austria's elections have inclined for decades, as elections have been, if the access to the media, the fourth power in the state, but which actually not covered by the Constitution, would actually be democratic, balanced and fair. The Catholics of Austria will hopefully know to discern the spirits.

Pope: For an Answer on "Amoris Laetitiae" Read Cardinal Schönborn's Synopsis

Francis expressed himself in another "flying press conference" not only on "Amoris laetitiae" but also on the Syrian refugee families who came along with him, sealing off of Europe and the meeting with Bernie Sanders

Vatican City (kath.net/KAP) Pope Francis appealed to journalists that when reporting on his  Apostolic Letter "Amoris laetitita" they should also read the synopsis that Cardinal Christoph Schönborn had given at the press conference at the Vatican.  When asked by a journalist at the "flying press conference" on the flight from Lesbos to Rome on Saturday afternoon, if the document on the subject of marriage and family opened "new opportunities for the divorced and remarried," the Pope said "I could already say yes, but that would be too short a response. If you read the introduction by Cardinal Schönborn, who is a great theologian, to the text, then you have the answer," said Francis, [Apparently, Pope Francis said "I can say yes.  Period," in the Italian, "Io posso dire sì. Punto.."] according to Vatican Radio. Besides questions about "Amoris laetitiae" the journalists wanted to talk about the Arab refugees traveling in the Airbus - three Syrian families - the sealing off of Europe and the meeting with Bernie Sanders.

The Pope said that he was still moved in the wake of his visit to the refugee camp Moria in Lesbos: He had "to cry" about the encounters he experienced. Francis showed reporters pictures the children had painted and presented to him: "What the kids want is peace? Because they are suffering." On one of the pictures a weeping sun can be seen: "If even the sun were able to cry," said Francis, "then it would do us some good to shed. I would also invite the arms dealers to spend a day there in the camp." That would be "healing" for them.

In terms of the twelve traveling Syrian refugees who are Muslims, the pope insisted that it was "a purely humanitarian matter" and not to connect "any political speculation." The idea had come up a week ago with some of his colleagues in the Vatican, "and I accepted this immediately." He had "seen that it was the Holy Spirit who was speaking." The action was coordinated with the Greek and Italian authorities.

Francis quoted Mother Teresa: "It may be that this is just a drop in the sea, but the sea is not the same because of these drops." When selecting the refugees to take to Rome, he had "not made a choice between Christians and Muslims," Francis said. "These three families had their papers in order and could get it. There were two Christian families on the list, but their papers were not in order. So no privilege." The twelve refugees he wished to take care of in the Vatican, were "all God's children".

On European refugee policy the Pope said: "I understand the people who feel a certain fear. I understand that we have great responsibility in receiving a great responsibility, and one of the aspects is how to integrate these people." He also reiterated that he considered walls as "no solution" and that bridges lead further. "We need to build bridges, but intelligently, with dialogue and integration." Europe must "urgently address their admissions policy, integration, growth, jobs and economic reforms."

All these points are "bridges" that reach into the future. "Europe must now return to find the ability to integrate, which it always had." That some "people born and raised in Europe," the "sons or grandsons of migrants", had committed the terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels had, which shows in this view, "that there has been no integration policy."

On his decision to meet with the democratic US -Präsidentschaftskandidaten Bernie Sanders, Francis said that he met and greeted Sanders in the morning when he had left the residence of Santa Mart where he lives on an entire floor. The Marxist Pro-Abortion Sanders came to address Congress on the social encyclical "Centesimus Annus" in Rome.

"It was a simple greeting, nothign more. That's called manners, not meddling in politics. If someone thinks that a welcome is the same as mixing in politics, I recommend him a psychiatrist," said Francis word for word.

Another journalist asked about "Amoris laetitia," namely, why Francis had been hiding the subject of sacraments for the divorced and remarried in a footnote? The Pope explained that he had done so, "because it was already in Evangelii Gaudium," the programmatic Apostolic Letter of 2013. By "One of the last Popes" - Benedict XVI. was meant - "Has, as he once spoke of the council, there have actually been two of the Second Vatican Council, one of the Council of the media," said Francis about the totally different weights of certain issues.

So it will not probably not be registered, "that the the Communion is not the main problem of the family and Church." "We have a declining birth rate, at which one can only cry, lack of jobs and salaries, so Mom and Dad both have to work, and the children grow up alone. These are the big problems," Francis said.

Edit: and as usual, you're welcome LSNs.

"In This Respect There is an Explosive Power in Them" -- Amoris Laetitia and Schönborn's "Disobedience"

Baldisseri and Schönborn

"Farewell to the Magisterium"

(Vienna) The Catholic theologian and director of the left-liberal, and management of the  Austrian daily newspaper. Der Standard, Wolfgang Bergmann, identified the key to Amoris Laetitia yesterday in the ORF broadcast "Praxis - Religion and Society" (ORF-focus "Mother Earth"). He explains this by that which does not exist in the document, namely, the "Farewell to the Magisterium" and therefore to normative standards.
Bergmann is considered to be a "Church insider." He formerly headed the public relations of the Austrian Caritas and was communications director of the Archdiocese of Vienna. He was, until 1999. a close collaborator of Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, Archbishop of Vienna.
Amoris Laetitia was presented by Cardinal Schönborn not only on behalf of the Pope to the world, but has also contributed his handwriting in some cases. The first section of the controversial eighth chapter begins with the "gradualness", a keyword that  Schönborn coined in the first Synod of Bishops, 2014. Accordingly, there are no irregular situations in relationships between two people, but only a gradation in the realization of the marriage "ideal". It's a concept that has already been criticized at the time criticized as a relativistic dissolution of marriage sacrament, but it still found its way into an official papal document.

"Roman theology has come to the end"

According to Bergmann there has only been "very minimal progress" by Amoris Laetitia. However, the positive side is a "farewell to the Magisterium" initiated by Pope Francis.  The pope has written, "preaching, lyrically, citing writers, he is pedagogical-psychological [Some might say pedantic and deliberately insulting.], but theological only a few places."  But there is a reason, says Bergmann: "The Roman theology has come to the end."
Pope Francis had "opened the door for the sacraments" to public adulterers, Bergmann speaks of divorced and remarried, though in "only in two footnotes," and thus in a "hidden form".
Then Bergmann reported on the "Vienna Praxis." Cardinal Schönborn had been engaged in this praxis "for 15 years" even as he presented Amoris Laetitia at the press conference and thus even refuted  the reputation he's had so far - albeit with a decreasing tendency - the attributed Image of a "Conservative". [Nobody ever believed that once they got to know what he really was.]

"Schönborn has lived in disobedience here"

In the Archdiocese of Vienna, it had long been a practice given by Cardinal Schönborn, says Bergmann, "which was actually against the line of Rome, which Schönborn has lived in disobedience here," which could lead "to the blessing of remarried divorced couples."  "To that extent, this practice is now legitimized by Rome."
This also shows "that it is a very good to be a time disobedient, because one can be obtain later through praxis. This can perhaps now be extrapolated to other topics, including the blessing of homosexual couples. In this respect there is an explosive power in them." The "Vienna Praxis" would also include homosexual relationships.
Bergmann sees also in Amoris Laetitia a conscious "renunciation of power" by the Pope.  "In fact, exerts Pope Francis has engaged in a renunciation of power." This "renunciation of power" by its displacement to the local Churches must now, however, be specific and be exhausted, not only in announcements and "encouragement" but to prevent  a later reversal,  so says the Standard's manager.

Ban on Criticizing the Pope is a Structural (Conservative) Problem

Cardinal Kasper: Amoris Laetitia is "the most important document
in Church history of the last 1,000 years"

(Rome) While Cardinal Walter Kasper called Amoris laetitia "the most important document of the Church's history in the past 1000 years," his great adversary in the Synod of Bishops in 2014, "Cardinal Raymond Burke" (Sandro Magister), clings to formal restrictions.
There is no shortage of parts of the Church that match vociferously with Kasper's  assessment. This includes the daily newspaper Avvenire  of the Italian Episcopal Conference . It  is  headed by  another papal confidant, Bishop Nunzio Galatino. The daily sees Amoris Laetitia not just "according to the thinking of a wise father," but exactly how Cardinal Burke does not want to see it. Namely, a regular document of the Magisterium Amoris Laetitia which was a "revolutionary" document that sealed  "by archiving  pastoral prohibitions and constraints," and "that had turned more into a reading of the code of canon law, instead of the Gospel."

"Poor Cardinal Burke, who clings to codes and commas"

"Poor Cardinal Burke, a great canonist, who clings to nothing but codes and commas ...", said the Vatican expert Sandro Magister. "Undoubtedly," said Magister,  Pope Francis  has also thought of Burke, when he speaks of the Article 305 in Amoris Laetitia, writing of those who know "only how close their heart only with moral laws...", "as if they were boulders that were thrown on the lives of people. "
In comparison, the proponents of the "pastoral reorientation" (Cardinal Schönborn) appear to have an easy time. They offer to people supposedly what they want to hear.

Conservative prohibition of criticism  forces it to a sideshow

Even Cardinal Walter Brandmüller, another Cardinal who had rendered outstanding services in the past two years to defend the sacrament of marriage, has so far limited his formalistic criticism of Amoris Laetitia. The content of the post-synodal letter was not the problem, but the false interpretations. In other words, what the Pope says, that it is all right, it is  just misunderstood. A reading of this pontificate, which was bumpy from the start and  easily turns into a stumbling block, just as  now.
Cardinals Burke and Brandmüller  in not criticizing the pope, are forced to resort to a sideshow and to steer clear of the actual battlefield. Criticism of Amoris Laetitia  turns out to be weak when it renounces the direct, substantive confrontation. While some are going onto the sidelines,  Cardinals like Kasper and Schönborn roll ahead at full speed on the main line and announce the exact opposite. They talk about content and refer explicitly to Pope Francis. The do not address  formal questions.
The weakness of the cardinatial resistance is homemade in this case because the cardinals themselves are possessed of their strongest means, when they bring forth a substantive confrontation. What are they afraid of? Are they afraid of the consequences? What consequences? Is it not perhaps a lack of the insight on the part of the papacy, which proves to be the inhibition?

Approaches a substantive criticism

Both cardinals seem to be aware  of the weakness of their own reasoning. Sandro Magister points out that both Burke and Brandmüller, for example,  don't dispense  quite completely with a  substantive review.
Cardinal Brandmüller  explained  to the Bild newspaper that it was unacceptable to grant exemptions to the Communion ban for people living in the state of the public and persistent adultery. This is categorically impossible for religious reasons and also in individual cases.
Cardinal Burke sees the danger in a dangerous misconception that in Amoris Laetitia the formulation of marriage as an "ideal" may arise. "In the document, there are numerous references to the "ideal marriage." Such a description of marriage can be misleading. You can lead the reader to think that marriage is an eternal idea of what  men and women approach more or less under varying circumstances. But Christian marriage is not an ideal. It is a sacrament that gives the grace of a man and a woman to live in a true, lasting and fruitful, mutual love," said Cardinal Burke.

Rethink self-imposed ban on the Pope's criticism

The self-imposed ban against criticizing the Pope proves to the defenders of religious marriage and morality as a major weakness because it is structural. With consistent compliance, it gives the other side an almost insurmountable advantage and can be repeated as well as on other matters.
The self-limitation is  anachronistic anyway because Pope Francis had given his critic Antonio Socci a free pass  in which he explained that the criticism is legitimate and is thought to be, according to Socci, that the  criticism was "good for" the Pope. Socci had nevertheless doubted the legality of the Pope's election for half a year.
In a time in which the Pope is himself the engine of controversial breaks, faithful Catholics, particularly the so-called "conservatives" have to rethink their attitude towards the Pope. They will not fail to be bound and  soon  will not be able to check  if and how they have  been weighed down by the erroneous ballast of the papacy. And they will have to get rid of it if they want to fulfill their duty to defend the immutable doctrine.
Then to hoped that the pontificate of Francis might not be long, could yet prove to be as  double-edged as the prohibition of criticism.

"Revolution" Amoris Laetitia: the -- "Pastoral Realignment" of the Church

(Rome) The "pastoral reorientation" of the Church was stressed at the press conference for the presentation of the Apostolic Letter Amoris Laetitia , which summarizes the results of the double Synod on Marriage and Family from 2014 and 2015, the "pastoral reorientation."  There is no lack of disappointed voices  over a "a missed revolution." Is it actually failed or is it sneaked in, albeit subliminally in the new document? One thing is certain: The document allows a variety of interpretations. Some of "The revolution, which really isn't" to "A revolution, but  it does not call itself that." The document contains valuable information about the beauty of marriage and the importance of family. Yet in the current dispute they are not the focus of attention.
What exactly was in the Post-Synodal Exhortation, and what does it communicates to the public, are two different things. For the actual impact is expected, as experience shows, to be more significant in the communicated content. Is there anyone who actually reads a nearly 200-page Vatican document?

Schönborn: "Francis wants a church in which all have their place"

The tenor of Cardinal Christoph Schönborn (Archbishop of Vienna) cited press conference expressed in the following sentences: "Francis wants a church, in which all people have space and in which the conscience is of great importance." Tone is the mother of the music, where Cardinal Schönborn's thrust is lodged.  In the first sentence, without further explanation, there are already more than enough explosives included.
His appointment to present the letter in Rome, is not only an acknowledgment by Pope Francis. It is also an attempt to satisfy the most obstreperous German-speaking Church. The spokesman for the German Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Reinhard Marx, frankly threatened beforehand that they would act on their own in case of the non-fulfillment of their expectations. This refers to the de facto recognition of divorce and remarriage by giving Communion to remarried divorcees and the acceptance of aberrosexuality. That is already the the de facto situation, and how well the Catholic Church in Germany fits into the political consensus on aberrosexuality, which was demonstrated last April 2nd in the "ecumenical memorial service" for the late former Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle. The funeral service for the self-confessed homosexual and Protestant Westerwelle took place in Cologne in a Catholic basilica.

The central message: communion for remarried divorcees "In Certain Cases"

The central message of today's press conference for the presentation of Amoris Laetitia  which was  announced by Cardinal Schönborn, was the fact that the sacraments for divorced and remarried was possible "in certain cases." [Sure, if it's sacrilegious.]
This is sufficient to avert the latent question floating around the schism of the German church, and yet directs the Church to "new pastoral paths".
The German schism threat had overshadowed the final phase of the pontificate of Benedict XVI. It will even be the task of historians to shed light on the relationship between that pressure and its significance on the unexpected resignation of the German pope.  In 2017  the Protestant part of the German area will celebrate 500 years of Reformation. Within a hair's breadth,  the Reformation commemoration would "fittingly"  coincide with a second schism. It might have been the best for the Church. But who wants to accept that responsibility? [Me?] Benedict XVI. did not want it anyway.

The German threat of schism

Press Conference led by Cardinal Schönborn  at the Vatican

The pressure in the boiler is vented on the present day.  But are the problems really solved? As it stands, neither the practical and certainly not the theological. For half a century the world church is under a baleful protestantizing German influence. There coresponds then that there is an internal logic that there are also Germans who oppose this influence. The election of Benedict XVI. should, for this logic, complete the countermovement. It was a task, ultimately, that he could not cope  with despite the effort. The "practical" success through the schism threat cemented the commencement of the "Rheinische Alliance"  and its influence on the overall alignment of the universal Church in 1963. Has Rome been blackmailed? This can not be formulated so drastically. Things are a lot more complex and interwoven. There is  the risk of conditioning in any case.
Theologically in the past two years, since Pope Francis newly set the new course and gave a free pass to the "German train", considerable effort has been expended by the defenders of ecclesiastical marriage and morality of the traditional to deepen the understanding of marriage sacrament and related indissolubility. This will bear rich fruit.
As much as Pope Francis has given room since his election, to the new progressive "alliance" on the Rhine and Danube,  and opened the door, he can not be said to be in lockstep  with the German episcopate. The papal sympathies for Cardinal Walter Kasper are known and real. They secured the former bishop of Rottenburg-Stuttgart as the late unexpected "comeback". After all, he is likely to have been the "masterpiece" of the German cardinal, the election of Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio. Francis has less sympathy for the mighty man of the German Church, for the Munich Archbishop Reinhard Cardinal Marx. This is probably do e ti the different characters involved. This explains the closeness between the Pope and the Archbishop of Vienna Cardinal Schönborn.

The Schönborn interview: "Love more important than norms"

A native of an  ancient family, Dominican Schoenborn is also a representative of the German-speaking world, but in his skilful, diplomatic way, is much closer to the Pope. In order to understand the intricacies of the "message",it is noted in an interview that Schönborn already have a press conference to the Roman press  for his  own press agency Kathpress. The interview and press conference shall be read as a unit.
In the interview, the programmatic statement was:
"Firstly it is not the norms that are important, but in the first place is the focus on the love."
That was the "special logic" that was behind the entire papal letter.

What Vienna has "long practiced", was "fully accepted" by the Pope

Schönborn also gave his interpretation of the letter in the  interview. He sees in Amoris Laetitia  confirmation what "in Vienna has been lived as pastoral practice for over 15 years." What Vienna has long practicing, had been "fully accepted" by the Pope. That applies to obedience and German unilateralism.
The letter, says Schönborn, should actually be prefixed by the phrase "Love and do what you will."  The Vienna archbishop strove not only to explain this nowadays easily misunderstood sentence of St. Augustine. A certain misunderstanding seems intended. Schönborn repeated in other words, the concise thesis "Love is Love", which he had already expressed at the Synod of Bishops, 2014.

Schönborns disassembly: Is there an objectively irregular situation?

In particular, the cardinal warned against rash judgments about so-called "regular" or "irregular" situations. In the papal document the word "irregular" had almost always been written in quotes, which is "especially important". Schönborn said:
"Whether someone is in a regular or irregular situation, is first of all only an external view of the situation."
This is therefore, for the Archbishop of Vienna, not an objective state.  "The inside view of the situation of marriages and families is that we all have to face difficulties and  all are in need of God's mercy"

Schönborn: "Liberating and soothing message"

"No couple and no family" are therefore likely to say: "We are the ordinary and you are the messy" That was for him, a "liberating and beneficial" message "because it is in reality even so," said Schoenborn,  "Liberating" for whom and what?
The post-synodal letter includes 190 pages. One should "not hastily" read it, commended the Pope today.  Nevertheless, the number of 1.3 billion Catholics who read it will be completely manageable.
By now the race is on, to make the search, according to which the document can meet their own positions or to monopolize it. For decades, it was also analogous to the factions of the Protestant Synod parliaments, even in the Catholic Church one speaks of "conservative", "progressive", "traditionalists", "modernists" or "moderates". It's a distorted perspective, because that's not in the Catholic Church.  Anyway, that is not what it should not be about. There should be no question thy one faction triumphs over another, but to learn the truth revealed by God. And that is what all factions are committed to when we assume ourselves to be Catholic. Again, it should be at least that.

Methodology of the imprecise wording

Is the result of the Synod as outlandish as they had expected it? Ultimately, yes.  It did, as several high church officials, including Curial Archbishop Georg Gänswein, assured, not come to a startling break. Yet one can clearly deduce the fracture on closer inspection of the details. Therein lies the confirmation of expectations. The changes, the "revolution", the "revolutionary change" (words of Cardinal Kasper) happens when it happens, subtle in  inaccurate word sausage formulations. In this respect therefore, there is nothing new under the sun. The method used already on the Second Vatican Council, to dissolve the clarity in the obscurity of the wording, will be continued. The Jesuit Karl Rahner, whose Jesuit brother is the reigning pope, found t language methodology  as downright brilliant because it ultimately always allowed whatever reading or interpretation was wanted.
It is the method that revolutionaries, who lack  the majority or the armies, wish to impose its will directly and quickly. It is even more the technique of pseudo-revolutionaries who do have radical ideas, but where the final drive is missing, in openly professing the Revolution. The popular theology, whose representative Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina was, and his rejection of the armed struggle of his confreres  for Marxist liberation theology offers several approaches to understanding this pontificate.
Utterly irritating, though it was mentioned only in passing, is the largely uncritical "yes, to sex education", pronounced by Pope Francis. Given the experience of school sex education and government "education campaigns", given that the gender ideology wants school sex education to put their stamp on a massive scale, given the appropriate "curricula" of Baden-Württemberg, Vienna or Bavaria, to name just a few, it's a  wonder just what "reality" the  Pope and his ghostwriter have in mind on this issue.

Where the "pastoral reorganization" leads, is in the stars

Where the "pastoral reorientation," will lead the church in Western Europe, is completely in the stars. One thing is certain: The German church tax system persists with its downsides, which represent a disproportionately bad influence on the whole Church.  At least that is likely to be for some prelates a relief which may, -in case of doubt-  be more important than the battle for "liberal" openings.
If at the end the question: Was it worth it that Pope Francis made  marriage and family the subject of a Synod of Bishops in 2013 to replace the post-synodal letter Familiaris Consortio from 1981? If the chronology of the previous three years could be seen in fast motion, the impression remains ambivalent. On one hand, a quarrel was picked and it was carried out by Francis into the Universal Church who gave undue latitude unnecessarily to the intolerant German church. How many shards there will yet be to  picked up can not yet be judged. At the same time, the double Synod when it was conceived as a revolution - and with some evidence - become the starter. The Church speaks less than ever with a unitary voice. The pontificate of Francis promotes discord. The real inner renewal of the Church is not  undergoing any real impetus. It must continue to wait.
