So cold, so empty.

But there is hope! Many Catholic churches have begun to restore their high altars that were torn out after the Vatican 2 debacle. Take a look at St Joseph's Cathedral in Manchester, NH. I attended Mass here once in the early 1980's. It was hideously stripped. But look at it now, complete with BEAUTIFUL statues of the Sacred & Immaculate Hearts, flanking the tabernacle. It brought me to tears when I saw:

http://www.ncregister.com/site/article/renovated-to-original-beauty

If anyone's familiar with the prophecies of Our Lady of Good Success (church approved 1600's) about our times, she said that when all would appear paralyzed & hopeless in the church, that then will be the beginning of the 'happy restoration' of Holy Mother Church. It will come because she, the Mother of God, Queen of Heaven & Earth has said so!

So do not despair! Instead offer everything up, pray for the Holy Father, the Consecration & conversion of Russia & Holy Mother Church.

Be at peace. But I'll bet he's creeping up on 70, and if not a priest, then is an active radical-liberal layman who might be one of those who ingratiated himself in his local parish and pushed with others of his kind to turn it into a quasi-protestant style church, aided by a like minded liberal pastor, and a clutch of aged nuns. Maybe he's a dissenting college prof, determined to go down with the Vatican II ship.

As for the revolving door at traditional communities....that's a joke, Pete! Maybe it's true, but it's been true in Vatican II seminaries and Orders for 50+ years. You made me laugh with that stupid comment. I know it was a swipe at traditional Orders losing members, but are the established ones flourishing? Are the Vatican II seminaries and Orders any better? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I am lucky enough to live in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, which before Vatican II was truly flourishing, as were most dioceses in the USA and abroad. Key word.....MOST. I didn't say all :)
Here in Philly before Vatican II we were blessed with many great Princes of the Church, Cardinals who kept the Catholic faith....the last being Cardinal John Krol who participated in (but was actually against), the reforms of Vatican II. He did as much as possible to keep the Catholic Faith from falling apart, and despite the collapsing vocations picture, he did keep us true to the Faith. He died in 1989.
Before Vatican II, there were 1,300 diosecean priests in Philly (300 today), average age before Vatican II, 40. Today, 70. Our seminary had 550 seminarians on an average year before Vatican II, with 90% studying for Philly. Today, there's about 150, with 90% studying for 25-30 other dioceses in the USA and overseas. Without them, the seminary, which can house 500+, would have about 45 seminarians wandering around in an empty shell of a building.
We HAD, four other seminaries for Orders in the Philly archdiocese...all closed since Vatican II. We have 4 large Motherhouses of 4 once flourishing, giant Orders of teaching nuns which staffed 325 parochial elementary schools, 7 hospitals, 3 colleges for women, and 6 private academies. YEARLY before Vatican II, about 575 young girls from the Philly archdiocese entered these four Orders, and about 10 other smaller congregations which likewise had their novitiates here. Before Vatican II, the average age of nuns in the Archdiocese was about 35-40. TODAY, combined these Orders are lucky if 5 girls a year enter. One Order, the Sisters,Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (which before Vatican II finally professed anywhere between 80-125 new nuns a year), this year had 1 profession. And they have only 2 in training. There were almost 8,000 nuns in Philly before Vatican II, today there are about 1,900. The average age in most Orders is close to 80. The Motherhouse of the Sisters of Mercy near my home (10 minutes away), has not had a novice in 30 years, and driving thru their campus and up to the Motherhouse, looks like a nursing home with sisters out to catch some sun on their electric wheel chairs or getting alone with their walkers or canes. SAD.
I SAY ALL THIS, PETE, BECAUSE YOU WERE QUICK WITH A DISPARAGING REMARK ABOUT THE REVOLVING DOOR IN TRADIITONAL ORDERS. ARE YOU OBLIVIOUS TO THE REVOLVING DOOR IN THE LIBERAL, DISSIDENT VATICAN II COMMUNITIES-THOUSANDS WHO QUIT BECAUSE THEY HATED THE CHANGES COMING IN.
If you think the Vatican II Church/Orders are faring any better, you're delusional Buddy Man and need help...quickly.

Damian Malliapalli
T

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404498638452030181.post-37604492941635202302018-10-24T05:33:01.324-07:002018-10-24T05:33:01.324-07:00Huh? We in the congregation are not the visible presence of Christ. Some are heretics, others visiting from other denominations, others receiving Communion unworthily, others not receiving because they are not properly confessed, others are improperly Confessed.Christ does not receive people unless they are sorry for their sins. Mercy is not unconditional without repentance, remorse, and reparation. It presumes too much. And in the end, some of those worthy today, will be unworthy tomorrow. Take Bergoglio as an example. Decided not to go the way of two cousins who turned Orthodox Christians instead of Catholics, or one of my brothers, who hasn't gone to Mass in years because he thinks it's a joke (and at our parish, it is...make it up Masses planned by old nuns (its their season---Halloween). I'm not a robot, who accepts all that came from Vatican II as wonderful or sacred because the Pope says it's so.
I side mostly with Catholic traditionalists (even the SSPX), because that's the Faith. Not Francis wearing a LBGTQ cross around his neck, or walking in procession with a stick, or having his Vatican swarming with queers while he daily insults and persecuted holy Catholics and holy tradition.
I don't genuflect to Vatican II. Neither do my young priests friends (a few dozen I e-mail with, and visit when I can). They reject nearly all of Vatican II because they (like I, even though I only 31 (going to be next month), have seen both sides of the Church...that and those who have bought into Vatican II 100% and the Church is in ruins, and those who have kept Faithful to tradition while still being full Catholics (not schematics), and seen the Church flourishing.
It's not like my priests friends openly defy Church authority.....but they keep to Catholic tradition, and foster it among the people. Two have been warned by liberal bishops for not buying into Pope Francis agenda....but they refute/reject Francis (but respect all other Popes, including the recent ones) and remain faithful. So do millions. So do I. I choose them, and not Francis.

Damian MalliapalliAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
