Probably a google-...There is an English option now. Probably a google-translate: A sua Eminenza Rev.ma Card. João Braz de Aviz

Your Eminence,

The decree of July 11th 2013, signed by you, by which the Franciscans of the Immaculate have been “commissioned” and forbidden to celebrate the Mass according to the ancient Roman rite, constitutes an unjust act in regard to this religious Institute, whose honour it diminishes, but above all it represents a violation of the universal laws of the Church, in particular of the motu proprio Summorum Pontificum of July 7th 2007 of Benedict XVI, which has never been abrogated and which grants, to every priest, the freedom to celebrate the Mass according to the “extraordinary” form. This objective lesion of the right cannot but concern all those who believe and love the liturgical tradition of the Church and, also in the same spirit, who fight in defence of life, of the family, of the pontifical Magisterium and of Christian Civilisation.

The canonical law gives me the authority to express, in a respectful manner, my sorrowful perturbation, my strong protest and my vibrant appeal so that every obstacle to the free celebration of the traditional Mass for every priest may be removed and that the Franciscans of the Immaculate may continue their precious apostolate which has done so much good and will still do so for souls.

Yours respectfully in ChristTancredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16015531337154301560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404498638452030181.post-14774652292780734792013-08-02T05:59:35.438-07:002013-08-02T05:59:35.438-07:00Is there an English translation? Is there an English translation?Lyndanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404498638452030181.post-21215555833468780882013-08-02T03:24:17.502-07:002013-08-02T03:24:17.502-07:00You are in error. Their first obedience...and your...
You are in error. Their first obedience...and yours...is to God. Now, to the issue at hand...Denying this Order (and the entire Church) of what has been given them by God and guarded by faithful popes is a matter of deadly consequence. That injustice was corrected (in part) by Benedict XVI and by solemn papal order was made that it is not to be denied ANY of us. Additionally, exclusive use of the Traditional Mass was also given to this order lawfully and justly. To remove it now is the equivalent of the federal government breaking a treaty with the Indians.

It was FORMALLY forbidden by Pope Pius V (if I'm not mistaken) that the Liturgy is never to be tampered with. This was ignored by Paul VI. Talk about going against a papal decision! Also against direct and formal orders of holy popes was the removal of the Oath Against Modernism and the Devil's Advocate. You can see the fruits of the disobedience of the popes who went against the explicit orders of their predecessors.

So if you are going to start whining about disobedience against a pope you can start with every pope since saintly Pope Pius XII. And don't leave anyone out.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404498638452030181.post-40976563956434725992013-08-02T02:24:19.779-07:002013-08-02T02:24:19.779-07:00Whatever one thinks about this is besides the poin...Whatever one thinks about this is besides the point, the Franciscans take a vow of obedience and when Holy Mother Church orders them to do something, they do it (pleasantly or painfully)....a petition like this against a papal decision shows no moral "support" for the Friars....that would come through prayers for all concerned....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404498638452030181.post-24874117800468054862013-08-02T02:11:17.192-07:002013-08-02T02:11:17.192-07:00Done!From California :)Done! From California :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404498638452030181.post-73583888934073930772013-08-02T00:18:29.044-07:002013-08-02T00:18:29.044-07:00Thank you Tancred and Prof. De Mattei.
