The cross, then, he stated, “for some people is a badge of belonging: ‘Yes, I carry the cross to show that I am a Christian.’ ” And “It’s fine,” but “not just as a badge, as if it were a team, the badge of a team’; but [rather], said Francis, “as the memory of the man who made himself sin, who made himself the devil, the serpent, for us; he debased himself up to the point of totally annihilating himself.” [emphasis added] (from onepeterfive dot com com/pope-francis-christ-made-himself-the-devil/)

The kids were shocked, but Bergoglio then said that he was at the age when " people pass away at any time", and that "no one guarantees life".
I think he is both trying to tell the Church and the world something about himself that's coming soon (he can feel it....you can tell in his words)....and to prepare them for it.
Many people can actually tlel when their time is up. I think Socci is wrong too.
I dislike Francis as much as any good, traditional and faithful Catholic, but in speaking of Jesus as "sin", he was just repeating what the old-time nuns used to teach kids in school to emphasise the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us on Good Friday and the Crucifixion.
If I'm not wrong, I think wat Francis meant is that Jesus didn't become the evil of sin itself (that indeed would be blasphemy), but rather he took all the sins of humanity upon his shoulders...all the sins that had ever been...and carried the weight of these sins upon his shoulders for our sake, to please God the Father. He took the sins from us, carried them himself, and asked the Father to cancel them out for our sake....by his sacrifice on Calvary.
At least that;s what the old nuns....the good sisters (not what we have today...the aged lay clothes whinning femminists). Jesus became sin, took the weights of the world's sins upon his shoulders and offered them to the Father to cancel them out.
I hope this is what Francis meant. It would be in keeping with what I even heard about the sacrifice of the Crucifixion. The act of Jesus suffering and dying under the burden of our sins .
If NOT, if he really did say that Jesus is the devil, etc. as I have read from Socci and other blogs and sites, then Bergoglio is a heretic, and should be thrown out....and his associates too.
Damian MalliapalliAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404498638452030181.post-643720922792429082017-04-08T16:56:30.653-07:002017-04-08T16:56:30.653-07:00For this year, they should place a cardboard cutou...For this year, they should place a cardboard cutout of Bergoglio next to the blessed sacrament in procession.
