When you just look at the gravity of the situation how could anyone persecute the SSPX for holding to what was always beleived by all. The faith does not change and it is really as simple as that. In the present crisis in the Church I'd consider them the Golden Mean.

I'd stay away from the CMRI. Their priests and bishop are most likely not valid. They belong to the "Thuc line". Abp. Thuc was responsible for the Palmerian Catholic Church and died in a Novus Ordo monastery.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404498638452030181.post-21004943590549743992015-02-16T11:36:11.882-08:002015-02-16T11:36:11.882-08:00Salvelinus,
You can go to the SSPX for Mass and C...Salvelinus,

You can go to the SSPX for Mass and Confession.

Msgr. Camille Perl of Ecclesia Dei wrote in a letter to Una Voce America in 2003:

"...Points 1 and 3 in our letter of 27 September 2002 to this correspondent are accurately reported. His first question was "Can I fulfill my Sunday obligation by attending a Pius X Mass" and our response was: "1. In the strict sense you may fulfill your Sunday obligation by attending a Mass celebrated by a priest of the Society of St. Pius X."

http://sspx.org/en/supplied-jurisdiction-traditional-priests

On a personal note, I have access to both SSPX and Novus Ordo sacraments and I by far prefer the SSPX. In the Novus Ordo I had priests mumble and speed through absolution and give me penances like "Eat a nice meal", "Enjoy a nice glass of wine or beer", "Have a coffee with a friend' and even watching sports.

I have the privilege of being able to spread the Faith to non-Catholics; from atheists to Muhammadans and from protestants to Hindus. Everyone that ended up going to the Novus Ordo out of curiosity/exploration didn't like it and never explored Catholicism further. Everyone that went to the SSPX chapel converted. It is impossible to convert a devout Mohammedan through the Novus Ordo because the women are topless in Church (no head coverings/chapel veils) and many women dress like a "sharmuta" or a "prostitute". I find bringing people to the SSPX easier because it already has Tradition, Ritual, Family, Education and Virtue which other cultures (e.g. Confucian cultures) value - all you need to do is introduce Jesus Christ, the missing piece in their existence, and they become zealous converts. With the Novus Ordo I have to "explain things" a lot, especially irreverent Communions and irreverent lay people/priests/music/ad infinitum.

I genuinely believe that if the Vatican II and the Novus Ordo revolution didn't happen, at least half of China and half of India would be Catholic. The missionary fields are ripe for the picking but the Church is sadly sabotaging itself. I am only one man and I'm amazed to see all the people who hunger and thirst for the true Faith, sadly Rome and the majority of dioceses do not want to give drink to the thirsty. Even with Francis making it impossible to convert non-Catholics, I now instead see Novus Ordo Catholics coming to the SSPX in droves. Everything (and every pope) works for the good for those who love God!

I have more confidence that SSPX sacraments are valid and licit than I do with Novus Ordo, even though I go to both SSPX and Novus Ordo for confession.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404498638452030181.post-46877177233864358842015-02-16T10:43:41.874-08:002015-02-16T10:43:41.874-08:00In order for the sacraments of confession, marriag...In order for the sacraments of confession, marriage and extreme unction to be valid it is necessary that the minister of the sacrament has jurisdiction. The SSPX priests do not have formal jurisdiction (yet?), however, there is a doctrine that in a state of emergency the Church will supply any jurisdiction that is lacking.

With the widespread heresy and schism that is manifesting itself under this corrupt papacy, surely any reasonable person would say that a widespread state of emergency exists. E.g. we know, because they have publicly confessed it, that the majority of German bishops reject Christ's teaching on marriage. They also refuse the sacraments and Christian burial to those who will not pay the Kirchensteuer. This is a de facto schism from the Catholic Church and so one could be morally certain that a state of emergency exists in Germany. I am sure similar circumstances exist from place to place.

The correct answer to your question would probably be that if you have access to an orthodox priest with jurisdiction, then one should seek the sacraments from him first before relying on supplied jurisdiction from a society priest. However, how many orthodox priests who still believe in sin are left? There is no point confessing your sins to a priest with jurisdiction if he has lost all belief in the fact of sin. What would he be able to absolve you of?Deacon Augustinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03549825303646357455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4404498638452030181.post-18049647859381253072015-02-16T09:08:23.570-08:002015-02-16T09:08:23.570-08:00Doesn't matter to me.
