If such were the case, these authorities would no longer have the Faith and would no longer be formally Catholic, and to believe this would be implicitly sedevacantist. Absit" I don't object to the overall tone of this piece, but I think it is naive to think, and really contrary to all evidence, that the Roman authorities still possess the Faith of our fathers. Can you imagine if you were a priest hosting a tango on the altar where you just offered Mass? This is what Bergoglio did. Such an action is indicative of a mind that clearly does not believe the Catholic Faith in its fullness. I am not to judge his motives, but the actions of the hierarchy clearly are in opposition to the Catholic Faith. I am not a sedevacantist as it is not my place to judge his heart, it is just clear he doesn't believe what the Church has always taught. When he says something true, I follow, when he kisses the hands of renegade homosexual promoting renegade priests I ignore him. But I always pray for him. The conciliar Church doesn't want Tradition, they don't want the SSPX except maybe for tithes. But they don't want the influence of Tradition. I'd say less than at any other time in recent memory is this evident. It is not sedevacantist to assert that the hierarchy has to a large extent lost the Faith...'by their fruits ye shall know them'. Sedevacantism implies formal heresy of which a layman has no authority to convict. Material heresy is another matter. The Chair is not necessarily empty if the pope is a material heretic. Simoulin. After all, didn't St Athanasius always return to Rome and reconcile whenever there was a chance to do so? Of course, he was forced to leave several times and go into hiding, but he always looked for a way to return...always! Dear St. Athanasius, please intercede and pray for the reconciliation of the SSPX with Rome, and please pray that the SSPX will not, as Fr. Simoulin states, be forced to accept Vll as a super-dogma, and that they will be allowed to debate it even when reconciled. We need their devout and holy priests as a witness to the beauty and worthiness of Tradition and the TLM, even though there will be great difficulties.Denisenoreply@blogger.com
