The teaching of the Catholic Church on Evolution as enunciated by Pius XI, Benedict XV and Pius XII is stark in its simplicity: If you want to know who made the world and the human soul, the answer is God. If you want to know the process of how God made the world, ask the scientists.
Yes, and the real scientists, as opposed to the materialist ideologues, say that the Darwinian idea of evolution by accident cannot account for life. "Evolution" of a sort undoubtedly happened, but Darwin by means explained how.
Read the Bible by all means, but the Roman Catholic Church has long accepted – or at least not objected to – evolutionary theory. Pope Francis is not the first pontiff to publicly affirm that evolution is compatible with church teachings.
In 1950, in the encyclical “Humani Generis,” Pope Pius XII said that Catholic teachings on creation could coexist with evolutionary theory.
Pope John Paul II went a bit further in 1996, calling evolution “more than a hypothesis.”
Monkey Boy, it's interesting how our society has evolved since we decided to no longer follow God's laws but make up our own. Everything is based on 'science' except when we want to teach children that the number of children they want is based on their feelings, then their sex is based on their feelings--not their chromosomes. The marital act is not designed by God to produce life; but marriage and sex is whatever makes you feel good with anyone or anything. Sometimes you have a clump of cells that can be frozen or trashed and sometimes you have a baby. If you kill someone because they are insane, mentally/physically handicapped or before they are born/when they have only six months to live (the doctor 'knows' (it's science) and painless ('mercy' murder); but the death penalty however administered is 'cruel and unusual punishment.' If you want to teach the science (gnostic "knowledge")of global warming or a fake pandemic, you can use faulty data or outdated models or switch data in midstream (actually you need no data/proof--just say whatever those paying your salaries want you to say). Masks prevent the spread. Ivermectin is horse medicine (horse sh*t). Vaccines increase your susceptibility to disease. EV's don't destroy the environment because we don't "count" how the components of the battery are derived. The range of an EV is whatever the government wants it to be. Ethanol is better for the environment than oil. Pretty soon people will be uploading themselves to a computer (i.e. committing suicide) because the government has mandated the factories produce such machines--and so they must work. Too bad we can't evolve back into monkeys instead of just becoming tattooed, pierced and naked (except for our masks) demons. Read Romans chapters 1 and 2.
No, John: 3/6 @ 10:47.......you are not right. Without the Catholic Church preserving it through the ages, there would be no Bible. Schismatic, heretical Protestants did not invent reverence for the Bible. It doesn't matter what Pastor Billy-Bob with his 8th grade education says.
So Tucker, now you’re dabbling in fundamentalism?
ReplyDeleteWhy don’t you use your real name? Racist. You hide behind the skirts of minorities.

Are we still arguing this?
ReplyDeleteSpencer Tracy and Frederic March settled it quite well, many years ago.
And quite entertainingly.
