Evil Austrian Cardinal: He Who Doesn't Accept Invasion Should Not Receive Communion

The Viennese archbishop washed feet during the feast of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday - "Nobody leaves his homeland voluntarily!"

Vienna (kath.net/ KAP) The concern for the poor and the distressed is a prerequisite for believers to receive the Communion. Cardinal Christoph Schönborn recalled the feast of the Lord's Supper in the St. Stephen's Cathedral on Holy Thursday. "We meet Jesus when we help the poor and when we receive Him in the Communion - but both are inseparable," stressed the Cardial. What Catholics perform with receiving Communion, they must also prove in their lives.

"If we do not serve one another, the Communion is unworthy," said Schönborn, in the context of the ritual of washing the feet, which is part of the Liturgy of Holy Thursday in memory of Christ's humiliation at the Last Supper. Jesus had given an example to all Christians with foot washing. "If we do not serve one another, bow down to each other as Jesus has bowed down to his disciples, when we meet one another arrogantly, despise each other, how shall we receive the Eucharist?" Asked the Cardinal.

The washing of the feet illustrates the inner attitude of believers to the altar. If those who went to the Communion refused to serve the poor or the suffering, or if the forms of contempt, separation, and injustice were well received, they could not receive the Communion in a worthy manner, said the Cardinal quoting Pope Francis.

Footwashing was once slavery

The Viennese Archbishop washed the feet twelve young women and men at the worship service. Among them were four members of the family, as well as eight people who came to Austria as refugees and were "already baptized or on their way to baptism," as Schönborn explained.

The washing of the feet in the Orient at the time of Jesus was slavery, said the Cardinal in his homily, recalling that even today people are enslaved. Explicitly, Schönborn mentioned refugees from Africa "who are fleeing from hunger and then slavery." In Vienna, slavery and human trafficking were also carried out, the Cardinal pointed out. Women would be forced to prostitution and then held as slaves. "This is happening with us," the cardinal said, not to hide this reality.

"Thinking of refugees on Good Friday"

"On Good Friday, it is good to think of the many who have to leave their homes today." To this end, Cardinal Schönborn called for this in his free-time newspaper "Heute" in his Friday column. Their need should not leave us indifferent, "even if we can not alleviate all their need." We should at least remember this," wrote the Archbishop of Vienna.

Schoenborn quoted his 97-year-old mother (her birthday this time on Good Friday), who had been forced herself to flee during the war - for many, "Nobody leaves his home voluntarily". From her home in Bohemia, Eleonore Schönborn had fled with her four young children, who at that time had to start a new life in Vorarlberg as a single-parent and single-mother. The Cardinal in retrospect: "We found ourselves in a poor Austria after the war. I understand that my mother is thinking differently about refugee issues than many people in our country today."

  1. It is absolutely no surprise that the good cardinal had no father. As he matured, he was surrounded by women. You just cannot bring everyone over there over here. After WWII, the West rebuilt Austria and Germany. Their economies would eventually boom. We should be thinking Marshall Plan for the Middle East and Africa. Radical leftist socialism just does not work. Marx and Lenin killed the Romanovs and installed national socialism. Francis and Schonborn would us do that for the entire world. The sentiment is laudable. Nevertheless, Economics 101 states that in order to redistribute wealth, you have to have resources with which to do that. Redistribution does not create.

  2. The question is: if and when the Europeans and Americans rise up and take back their homelands, how many bishops should NOT be hanged? "Episcopal until proven innocent." It will make for a much smaller group.
    There'll be damn few.

  3. This borders on the intellectual darkening, the cognitive disconnect, that comes when one does not really love God. What other reason can there be for such incomprehensible Leftist rhetoric? What brain cells are not firing, what eyes are still unseeing, what moral compass is one failing to follow, when these men, as well as WE, see Christians knifed, shot, throats cut, blown up, raped, crucified, and yet these out of touch, uncaring, totally clueless men, continue, to our amazement really, continue, to call for more immigration, more, MORE, MORE! It defies explanation, to any sensible person, any rational person, it is astounding, that a man who should know and understand the relationship between Islam and Christianity, is so utterly what, diabolically ignorant? What on earth can it be called when a pope or a cardinal can at this point continue to chastise Christians for not taking in MORE?? Are these men insane?? Not only are they rendering themselves irrelevant in the social sense, in the natural world, in the temporal realm, but they are harming the faith, because who can take them seriously. Why would anyone listen to such a delusional person, so Leftist politics, which they have overwhelmingly yoked to the Catholic faith, are unavoidably pulling by sheer weight, the entire Catholic faith and Church.
That sucking sound you hear is the faith being dragged down into the abyss by these disconnected-from reality clerics.
The other sound you hear is the screams of our Christian brothers and sisters who are suffering maiming and mayhem, murder, at the hands of jihadists. But don't look for these petty clerics to care about that. They are too busy fussing over materials goods and how they must be distributed.
My God, deliver us from these men.

    1. Kathleen, I agree with you, but you forget to mention that the Pope and these bishops are in complete opposition to the opinion of a strong majority of the European citizens who are requiring the UE and their governments to stop immediately the Muslim immigration as it was demonstrated by the British Chatham Institute a few weeks ago.

Ahem... The good cardinal was recently exposed by an Austrian newspapers as being a regular customer of a Vienna's famous brothel.
But who am I to judge?

    5. The woman speaks of a cardinal, but I wonder if she would know the difference well enough if it had been a bishop.

Of course, part of me is relieved it was a female the prelate (whoever he is) was patronizing.

  6. Better check Mama Schönborn's rap sheet. I bet we'd find that she's committed 0 rapes, 0 assaults and 0 robberies, 0 acts of vandalism. Heck, she probably didn't even throw her portion of donated food on the ground while glowering at aid workers.

Come to think of it, she better get started and show some results, or Soros is going to send her back to Bohemia!

  7. Dear Tancred,
I think your headline is misleading. the cardinal said, or implied, that: "He who does not accept the invasion should NOT receive Communion.

  8. This is really very sad and very frustrating. The Cardinal comes from an extremely illustrious family. Not only does he injure the Church with his unfortunate remarks but he also taints himself and his ancestors. This seems to be unresolved anger from his childhood with the divorce of his parents. Such a highly educated and erudite man could be quite a force for good in the Church. Let us pray for the Mercy of God that this may be so for him, the Church and by extension all Catholics.

    2. "Illustrious" is not a good adjective describing Cardinal Schornborn's family. A bit of research will produce ample evidence of the involvement of that "noble" family in the exploitation and oppression of the peasantry in the border lands of Slovakia and Hungary.

    4. Mr T, I'm not a Marxist, far from it. I'm only relating the info about 'Count Schornborn' that was posted a while ago on maurice pinay blogspot. The documentation appeared solid.
But a fact of more importance is the good Cardinal's recent humanitarian award by the Masonic B'nai Brit organization!
