Bishop Fellay and Pope Francis Met in Vatican This Weekend

Vatican Press Office vice-director Burke, announced on Monday that a meeting took place in the Casa Santa Marta on Saturday, April 2, between Pope Francis and the Superior General of the Society of St. Pius X.

We went to the Vatican information site and couldn't find it.  The Vatican  news website is the worst website ever made, but fortunately we have Rorate Caeli.

Rorate says that they, "learned it was a very positive meeting."

Update:  Official SSPX Statement.

      Nothing personal,just a joke.

    3. From the SSPX website: "...Pope Francis and Bishop Fellay having determined that these exchanges ought to continue without haste."

Well, sounds like it will keep happening for a longer while.

  3. The handshake at St. Marta´s well over a year ago sealed the deal. They both agree on some issues such as anti-semitism. SSPXers who made a stir in Argentina at a Novus Ordo Church was the icing on the cake both wanted to cull that problem. What was a Cardinal doing looking at SSPX curiculum books? What was he looking for but anti-semitism? Both Fellay and the Pope agree on certain topics. The handshake sealed the deal Fellay little by little they are letting it out to prevent a mass exodus out of SSPX.

    1. Does anyone know the official SSPX position on the prayer for the "perfidious" you know whos?

    2. Why would letting it out little by little prevent a mass exodus from the SSPX? Does it matter to laymen at SSPX chapels whether the SSPX is regularized next month or three years from now?

People who consider Bishop Fellay a sellout to Rome will bolt from the SSPX the day that Rome and the SSPX reach an agreement. The people who will remain with the SSPX will do so regardless when an agreement is signed.

    3. Resisters would have jumped ship already if it mattered. Despite Bishop Williamson's attempted coup, most of the clergy is staying put and isn't following him. They overwhelmingly voted to suspend him as well. This coming from someone who loves +W.

  4. I thought this was an April Fool's thing.....
Don't understand the reach out to SSPX when so many other very orthodox Catholics are still put down or persecuted (FFI, etc)

Satan wants to control the SSPX.

  6. I think that it's helpful that Pope Francis and Bishop Fellay enjoyed a cordial 40-minute meeting. As Bishop Fellay said, Rome distrusts the SPPX and the SSPX distrusts Rome.

With the two principals having met for 40-minutes, they won't have to reply on second-hand reports about what the other believes in relation to the situation between Rome and the SSPX. Their meeting will smooth relations between the two principals and increase the chances of an agreement.

  7. Do not trust this Bergoglio apology for a pope on anything orthodox.Remember The Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate?

    1. The key there is that the FFI is not under the Ecclesia Dei, but under the Congregation for Religious. Generally, the ED communities are mostly left alone, but not entirely. I think examples relating to the treatment of the FSSP, Bon Pasteur and Papa Stronsay are more instructive about how to proceed. Hopefully, the Society will get a better accommodation as a Personal Prelature and will be left alone to say the Immemorial Mass of All Ages and just as importantly, criticize Vatican II.

    2. Yeah, as long as +Fellay goes along w/priesthood for sodomites, what can go wrong?
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0eTadAYK6o
see @ 19:30: VC2 Inquisitor: "You said in 2010 the Church's problem is not celibacy but homosexuality. If you want to prevent ABUSE, you have to keep HOMOSEXUALS OUT of the priesthood." +Fellay nods: 'I would still agree..' VC#2I cuts off & Catechizes: "You confuse two things: ABUSE is what is done by PEDOPHILES which is a crime. Homosexuality is a sexual orientation." Fellay nods and stutters. VC#2 Inquisitor: "They're two different things, aren't they?" +Fellay: "I'd say I agree that we need to distinguish these, and many times unfortunately this distinction is not made--" VC#2I mutters and +Fellay redirects: "I may say w/the times going we become more precise. There was a time when we said--when somebody would say--homosexual, homosexuality he would mean the acts and not just this tendency which have to be distinguished--when I say homosexual acts, pedophile acts, I distinguish both."

So Pine Curtain and U of Dayton and Sodomite seminaries, baptisms can continue as long as SSPX is left alone in a "prelature"?

'University of Dayton officials legitimized men dressing as women and performing on stage as “an artistic expression in our culture” in comments to The Cardinal Newman Society about an event held Easter Wednesday at the Catholic college that brought in an “educational drag troupe” to teach students about “drag culture.”'

      And Muslims taking over Europe...

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVt0dnwZMCo

VC#2I @5:13 laments the "scandal" of an SSPX cofounder being fined for "defaming Muslims" (later on in the interview has gall to accuse +Fellay of talking about heresy & Latin Mass while Christians are being persecuted & Fellay doesn't even ask if he could criticize PF about that w/VC2I's approval). s +Fellay stutters: "and that's so margin--things one might say--unhappy things" VC#2I: "Why is it marginal? It matters a lot to the people defamed!" +Fellay: "Just a warning about not all the Muslims. Really a side question." Yeah, just a side question...

It seems most of the people who are rooting for SSPX to join w/the heretic VC#2 church are mostly self-called "catholics" who have never left--but continue to believe that one can sit right in the midst of baby murdering wickedness and still be okay w/God. Once you know the evil is coming from the top, i.e. that it is NOT an abuse but the program, only course open is to separate oneself--not JOIN.

  8. The SSPX says it accepts 95% of Vatican II. So, they'll focus on criticizing relatively small, but important, parts of the Council. But the good news is they accept freely a massive portion (95%) of the Council.

I also find good news in Bishop Fellay's comments about Pope Francis' very positive relationship with the SSPX going back to Argentina. Bishop Fellay said that the Pope insists the SSPX is totally Catholic and has been a great friend to them.

I await, if he desires, Bishop Fellay's comments on his 40-minute meeting with the Pope. I also would be interested in Bishop Fellay's comments, if any, on his Saturday meeting with Archbishop Pozzo.
