Ingravescente Ætate -- Three Years Ago: The Resignation from Office Struck Light Lightning

(Rome) Three years ago today, Pope Benedict XVI. completely surprised the world with the announcement of his resignation. 17 days later, he resigned from the office of Peter and left the Vatican. He changed the course of history.

" Ingravescente Aetate ", because of advanced age, was the reasoning that went through like a thunderbolt in the Church. In fact, a real lightning bolt struck the same evening on the dome of St. Peter. A natural phenomenon, which inspires horror to this day.

At that time it was claimed by some quarters in order to placate that the like had been done often and was nothing extraordinary. But neither before nor since has the "like" happened.

Benedict XVI. is yet alive, as his recent public performances have shown, and in command of his faculties.

His resignation is not comparable to anything in church history. No pope before him has resigned for "age reasons" from an office held for a lifetime.

In ten months his successor, Pope Francis, will complete his 80th year. He would have left the circle of papal electors and therefore, de facto, also from among the "papabili".

This resignation is invalid. He is still the true pope while Francis is an antipope

Remnant Clergy-- I realize that could be true, and perhaps suspect it, but don't have enough evidence for me, a lowly layman, to discredit the official line.

You have to admit, in addition to an anti-pope, a possible chastisement for our waywardness could be to give us a truly horrible pope.

May God guide, vindicate and uphold the true pope.

James said, "And then it all went down the toilet."

That really is the truth. Honestly, there can be no better description of what has happened...to the Papacy, and to all aspects of the Catholic Church, all aspects of Catholic life.
I hope I am not alone in thinking this, but the collapse in the Catholic Church, the Faith, and the Papacy has been so profound in but three years....that is it not possible that Francis truly is some some of anti-Christ actually. The corruption, the evil agenda, the active destruction of Catholic tradition and teachings over the last three years and continuing and worsening even now leads me to think that Francis isn't just a kindly, humble "pastor" as he has been portrayed, but rather someone with a genuinely anti-Catholic mindset, an evil force which I can't describe. This goes for both Francis, and all his associates.
On the website Rorate Caeli, I just read an article posted there which describes all the characteristics of the legendary "antichrist". I got the chills when I read it, because it is a perfect description of Francis.
I advise everyone either to go to that site and read it, or research it yourselves on Google.
Horrible is the only word I can think. To imagine that the forces of the devil, personified by Francis and his company, are actually now in control of the Church is not too far fetched to believe.
After reading the description, I truly believe francis may well be the "anti-Christ".

Pity the poor people of Mexico, who will flock to the likes of him. Pray for them, that this evil man will not do anything or say anything while in Mexico to denigrate the Catholic Faith or to belittle the traditional devotions an d piety that is so much a mark of Latin America.
I am sure he will try to, however.

That video of Benedict XI may be the last time we ever see a pope wear the mozetta. Humble old Jorge just finds traditional papal wear too extravagant. I suspect Tagle, when he's elected pope, will feel the same.

Anonymous said...

Tagle will never be Pope. Period.
As much as the radicals want him, he won't be Pope.

The next Pope will be a big surprise. He will be exactly the opposite of Francis. His election will send people like Tagle and the other radicals howling in despair, and running for cover.
He will come out onto the balcony of St. Peters in the mozzetta and stole, that'll be the first shock seen around the world.
The second will be that he'll be recognized as someone being somewhat to the right of Benedict XVI in theology and liturgical sense.
The third shock is that he will be an Italian, for the first time in almost 40 years.
And the last shock is that although he too, might be elderly, in facial appearance and gestures he will be reminiscent of another great Italian Pope whose reign began almost 80 years ago.
He won't have a long reign like John Paul II, but will have enough time to do restoration of the Church. When he's through, Catholics will be back to being Catholics, and the Papacy on it's way back to restoration....and the days of Francis will be a bad memory fifteen years or so in the past.

If you know your faith well enough, you will certainly know the lies spouted by Francis.

Yes indeed, we will start getting great chastisements - earthquakes, volcanoes, and economic collapse, along with war (nukes in Middle East) and famine.

The next Pope will be Peter the Roman, after Pope Benedict XVI is martyred as shown in the 3rd secret of Fatima. Notice the strange wording of that secret "bishop in white, we thought he was the holy father."

Remnant clergy, agree 100%, invalid resignation due to several reasons including duress, incorrect Latin grammar in the document itself (this alone is enough to make it invalid). "francis" is the Destroyer that Saint Francis mentioned in his prophecy. Immediately after francis's election there were blogs that tried to discredit this Saint Francis prophecy as "fake" or not originating from the saint but the problem is the "Destroyer" prophecy can be read in old old books about Saint Francis. Sorry antipope francis, SAINT Francis gave us the heads up.

Is this a Catholic website? How can anyone allow such utter filth be posted here?

A "Pope Tagle" will not even bother wearing the flimsy white cassock of Francis (a ploy to make us all think he is humble while living in the 5-star hotel which Casa Santa Marta, unlike the personal humility of pre-conciliar popes who did not denigrate the office but practiced true humility). There will be, I think, a pope Tagle---and he will wear in the balcony of St. Peter's a flowery Filipino shirt and the moronic facial expression that is his trademark. Thank you, Benedict, for raising him to the rank of cardinal and making him thus papabile. The Church is now in the catacombs of the traditionalists. RC

Jesus was probably a short, swarthy, rough hewn Palestinian man and, by contemporary modern Western criteria, maybe have looked a little on the moronic side.

Tancred said...

Here we go again....

And where, "Matt," do you get all of this insightful archeological knowledge, amazingly including the probable facial expression of Our Lord? By saying that the Second Person of the Holy Trinity "may have looked on the moronic side" you commit an unspeakable blasphemy, you pig. In normal times, when still had real Christians and real men, you would have paid very dearly for this insult against the Divinity of Our Lord---all in the name of your precious diversity and pathological obsession with anyone non-Western. Whereas we can deduce from the fact of His perfect Manhood that Our Lord radiated His divine wisdom rather than a moronic affect, we have the hard fact that this pampered liberal, Tagle, from a wealthy Filipino family, does look from the photographic evidence like the moron he probably is. The websmaster should at once remove this blasphemy from a Catholic blog and be on the lookout from the resurgence of vermin like this Matt (Ben, Gabriel, Sean, etc.). Archimago

The Catholic haters and Protestants had a field day - you, of course, would say it was filth - but all the pics they use are PUBLIC.

P.S. Why don't you read Sum Pont and see what Benny actually says about the (holy sacrifice of the) Mass. And then count how many times he publicly offered the (holy sacrifice of the) Mass since 1962 -- yeah.

You want filth. He's filth. And those who lie about his record and distort it are will be held accountable for any souls lost because of their lies.

Anonymous said...

Can't say I'm sorry he's gone. Many, like you, try to play Burke, Schneider and Benedict as lovers of the holy sacrifice of the mass and wanting to restore the teachings of the pre-VCII Catholic Church. Recently I found out that Benny personally chose three alternative endings for the mass (that Benny who doesn't like options or variety or whatever). Check out these three options and see if you can identify the ONE word that was removed:

"The Vatican has prepared three alternative endings for the priest's words of dismissal at Mass, to emphasize the missionary spirit of the liturgy. Pope Benedict XVI personally chose the three options from suggestions presented to him after a two-year study, Cardinal Francis Arinze told the Synod of Bishops in mid-October.

The Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, published an interview Oct. 17 with Cardinal Arinze, head of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments.

He said along with "Ite, missa est," the Latin phrase now translated (how they lie!) as "The Mass is ended, go in peace," the new options are:

--Ite ad Evangelium Domini annuntiandum (Go and announce the Gospel of the Lord).

--Ite in pace, glorificando vita vestra Dominum (Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life).

--Ite in pace (Go in peace)."

It is you people who state he was forced out. It is he who states he resigned and backs Bergoglio. False shepherds pull the wool over people's eyes -- and while bergoglio continues the revolution, Benny doesn't protest but goes around being supported for setting the precedent that the papacy is like the presidency where people "retire" after so long (i.e. not a lifelong super natural position chosen by the Holy Ghost that is held until death).

http://www.traditioninaction.org/HotTopics/d100htRatzingerFeminism.htm

P.S. Show me Benny offering one traditional latin mass after 1962. In 51 years show me ONE time; who is slandering? This is how Benny justifies reaching out to Lefebvre in 1988; it is the same justification he uses in 2007 (in SP). Lefebvre woke up and rescinded his signature and died EXCOMMUNICATE w/this VC2 church (and man) you are calling CATHOLIC:

"One of the basic discoveries (?!) of the theology of ecumenism(??!!) is that schisms can take place only when certain truths and certain values of the Christian faith are no longer lived and loved within the Church...Indeed they show what is from ANY point of view a restricted and one-sided outlook; but there is no doubt whatever that a phenomenon of this sort would be inconceivable unless there were good elements at work here..."

Wonder if Benny will be trottin along on Halloween (devil day) to celebrate Luther w/Bergie. But then Benny was there first w/Kaspar (who does theology on his knees) on October 31 1999 (see the 666):

"According to Protestant bishop George Anderson, head of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, the person who introduced the concept of grace in order to save the accord - which was at one point on the brink of collapse - was Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger. “Without him we might not have an agreement,” said Anderson. Protestant theologian Joachim Track also enumerated the three fundamental concessions made by Ratzinger that permitted the document of Augsburg:
“First, he agreed that the goal of the ecumenical process is unity in diversity, not structural reintegration. This was important to many Lutherans in Germany, who worried that the final aim of all this was coming back to Rome. Second, Ratzinger fully acknowledged the authority of the Lutheran World Federation to reach agreement with the Vatican. Finally, Ratzinger agreed that while Christians are obliged to do good works, justification and final judgement remain God’s gracious acts.”
...However, in everything that the Holy Church teaches, for man to merit salvation he must practice the virtues in a heroic way. If his actions are without value, he is condemned. The “grace” of Cardinal Ratzinger does not depend on any human correspondence, which seems to be a concept foreign to Catholic doctrine and not much different from quietism.

In fact, the following quietist propositions were condemned by Pope Innocent XI in the Constitution Coelestis Pastor (November 20,1687):
“ No. 2. To wish to operate actively is to offend God, who wishes to be himself the whole agent; and therefore it is necessary to abandon oneself wholly in God.

No. 4. Natural activity is the enemy and impedes the operations of God and true perfection because God wishes to operate in us without us ….

No. 40. One can arrive at sanctity without exterior work.”

You, Anonymous 4:24, had to go back quite a few centuries to find an example of a not-so-humble pope, you parrot of the anti-Catholic bigotry of Zionists and Protestants. First, learn to spell the name of your "devastating" example correctly: the corrupt Renaissance pope's name is "Borgia" (that Modernist seminary miseducation must have been somewhat lacking!). Secondly, unlike the egomaniacal Francis, Alexander VI at least had the basic decency of respecting Catholic tradition, liturgy and doctrine---his sins, real and great enough, were at least personal and did not involve the rape of Holy Mother Church directly as we have seen since the perfidious Vatican Council II. Real Catholics would lament a dissolute pope and wish/pray for a worthier successor of St. Peter, but still prefer him to heretics who tear apart the liturgy, doctrine and morals of their religion in the name of sappy, false mercy and charity---and a treacherous ecumenism. It does take a special (diabolical) hubris to do that. RC

Tancred said...

Don't just stop there, go back further.

For one thing among many, Bergoglio is more brazen, vulgar, vindictive and imperious than anyone before him recently===and that makes a big difference in the progressive erosion of the Catholic Faith that we see all around. Agreed that many recent popes have been less than friends of tradition, but the initial question here was one of (feigned) humility rather than orthodoxy. I do agree that in essence Bergoglio is not that different from the recent popes who preceded him regarding the defense of tradition and orthodoxy. RC

RC that sounds very egomaniacal. There's an old French saying Qui s'excuse s'accuse

Anonymous said...

Anonymous 1:27, please take your medication and then perhaps you can learn to use concepts and words that make sense. What you say has no connection to what RC writes in the remotest way, but, of course, your purpose is not communication of ideas (nor are you really insane)---your aim is malevolent and the destruction of this blog where much truth is said; you Modernists insist on a complete monopoly of expression on all fronts. And that is your mission here. You will be ignored, at least by me, if not by the webmaster who might consider editing the worms trying to shut him down, as more and more people will simply give up visiting a web plagued by the provocations of heretics. By the way, go back to basic composition: one uses quotation marks or italics with foreign phrases. Archimago

Tancred, I imagine you have noticed, but it is clear now that the troll that goes by various names here aims to shut your blog down (or at least render it insignificant) as more and more readers give up on it after reading the provocations/diversions meant to stifle the traditionalist opposition: classic liberal dictatorial tactics. I trust you have some way to effectively and permanently weed out this enemy (I believe it is one single person, but I could be wrong) as he would you or me in a split second were we foolish enough to bother with one of their malodorous Modernist blogs. Just my thought and well-meant advice. You are, in a sense, under attack from this enemy of Catholic Truth, probably some ageing cleric with nothing to do in his emptying parish and bored to tears with the vacuity that the Modernist caricature of Catholicism always creates. It is to be expected: after Sister "Witless" has taught her heretical catechism and he and his parish council of bored retirees have destroyed the communion railing and other beautiful aspects of Catholic life and practice, there is not much more to do---except hound the remnant of believers. Such is their consummate malice. RC

Fortunately the 6th Seal of Revelation will come, the Illumination of Conscience, and then everyone will know the true God, true religion, and true Pope. Sedes will see their hellish error as well. This is Matthew 24:14 and Revelation 6:12-17.

What will also occur is the end of invincible ignorance. Since every soul on earth will be informed, anyone who refuses to become a practicing Catholic will choose hell of their own free will. Therefore no more debates about ecumenism, religious freedom and the like. The real Catholics will have to teach the faith and provide true sacraments. Billions will convert. The difficulty will be that the Antichrist will be in the world counteracting that effort.

Yes folks, we are that generation.
