Vatican Recognizes Palestinian State

Edit: it will be interesting to see how Israel reacts, which had increasingly friendly relations with John Paul II's Papacy throughout the eighties.

[The Blaze] The treaty, which concerns the activities of the Catholic Church in Palestinian territory, makes clear that the Holy See has switched its diplomatic recognition from the Palestine Liberation Organization to the state of Palestine.

The Vatican had welcomed the decision by the U.N. General Assembly in 2012 to recognize a Palestinian state. But the treaty is the first legal document negotiated between the Holy See and the Palestinian state and constitutes official diplomatic recognition.

“Yes, it’s a recognition that the state exists,” said the Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi.

    1. No, it is very bad news. It is another sign that Francis sides with the thugs of this world. First the Castros and now this. Francis is himself a leftist thug who doesn't deserve normal relations with the Jewish nation. The Palestinians aren't focused on having their own state, their only purpose is to destroy the State of Israel.

Consider the following questions: (1) Where in any country in the Middle East does an Arab have any enforcible legal rights, except in Israel? (2) Where in any country in the ME do Christians enjoy religious freedom guaranteed by the Constitution, except in Israel?

I hope Israel will soon break off its relations with the Vatican.

    2. Dude, did you ever meet a Christian from "Isreal"?? They are the most persecuted people there! Denied jobs, spit on as they stand in line at the market. That is why there are so few there!

"ISREAL" is the world's enemy, the menace behind all the ills of this world. If you had a neighbor like "Israel" you would be forced to fight them too. Neither of those factions are good guys but the Joos are the evil manipulators. Just like they have always been.

    3. Decades ago, perhaps even a century, the Zionists made a trade, Europe for a slice of the mid-east. It was 'agreed' they could have greater Israel between the Nile and the Euphrates in return for the islamification of Europe.

  2. WC=who cares?
A Palestinian State, Global warming, Liberation Theology, etc. This Pope is only interested in the most radical of issues.

"....interested in the most radical of issues." Such as Jesus Christ, the Gospel and the legitimate rights of human beings?
Try brushing up on Incarnation 101. It might be an education for you.

    2. Then again, it might not. Who told you global warming crackpottery is on the Inc 101 syllabus?

    3. Clearly it's a slow day for the circus man. I suspect that this is the best you can manage. All P&W!

  3. One would expect a false flag attack on The Vatican or a noted new church establishment - like the ones we've had in Paris, London, Tunis, etc., etc. Then they'll blame the muslims for it. Only a "Charlie" would fall for it: Netanyahu enjoys that.

  4. Personally, I commend any state recognising Palestine - the disgraceful ejection of people from their own homes and territory aided and abetted by the duplicitous British is yet another black mark against the UK and its role as agents provocateurs alongside the USA in international politics. Such an illegal seizure has nothing to do with Our Blessed Lord's second coming, although some attempt to make it so.

  5. The Pope's endorsement of Palestine is a horrid mistake. The people who control it were trained by the KGB. The KGB(now renamed the FSB) invented liberation theology, which this Pope seems to embrace with gusto. It's not right that the man who's Christ's Vicar on earth give the nod to something as evil as this.

    1. Steve, this issue is a hot-button one for some, especially those who have been fed only one side of the story for the past 70 years. I can relate to that very well. And I can also relate to the fact that this current Pope has said and done some strange things.

But I don't think this is one of them, and in any case the initiative was not his; it was his predecessors who began this process of recognition for Palestine. Where the Vatican went seriously wrong on this was to disregard St Pius X's wise decision not to recognize the "state of Israel" and go ahead and recognize it in 2000 AD. As part of that recognition agreement the Vatican was obligated to publicly abase itself and "apologize" to the Jews of the word for the Church's past "sins", which John Paul II ignominiously went ahead and did. And since that the crimes committed against the original inhabitants of the Holy Land by the occupation forces have been shocking, the most recent being last Summer's killing of 2,000 innocent people Muslim AND Christian. Surely we can afford a little empathy for our fellow Catholics' suffering in the lands they and their ancestors have occupied for 2,000 years.

I am the last one to be optimistic about ANYTHING that comes out of the Vatican these days but in this case there is cause to be a bit optimistic, or at least a bit less pessimistic. I share your concerns about the world's problems but I would only ask you to try and see the other side of this story. A great resource on these issues is the website of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem.

Obviously I cannot say what motivated weird Pope Francis into giving the go-ahead to this but even if it was for the wrong reasons I believe it may do some good.

      Kind regards....

    2. Steve, for some background reading Douglas Reed's 'The Controversy of Zion' is hard to beat. Reed was a highly respected investigative journalist before he fell foul of the Zionist power. The book is available as hardcopy or free online. It is very detailed and thorough,

  6. And, of course, the political zionist enclave of morally illegal Israel is not evil, is it? This is a state that promotes and implements terrorist acts in other countries with Mossad planning initiatives. When France recognised the Palestinian state in an Assemble Nationale vote there followed a number of false flag incidents including the Charlie Hebdo one - interestingly that psychopath Netenyahu warned France it was opening itself to terrorist attack. Indeed, he ought to know.
