Cardinal Baldisseri Undermines Catholic Teaching on Marriage -- But the Laymovements Say "No, Thank You" to Kasper-line

Cardinal Kasper Baldisseri and the agenda of Pope Francis: Listen to the laity, but silence them,
if they do not say what you want?
(Rome) Preparations continue for the Synod of Bishops on the family in 2015. The Pontifical Family Council has invited  the leaders of the world's most important Catholic layity to Rome to hear their views on the 46 questions of the new questionnaire from 22 to 24th January, which will be the basis of the Instrumentum laboris  of the Synod. But the result was not as Cardinal Baldisseri, the Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops had planned.  The cardinal, who acted as an extended arm of Pope Francis at the Synod of Bishops in 2014, was angry and broke out with rage in his statements against the lay representatives.

Lay movements: Yes to Loving Acceptance, but No to Communion without the State of Grace

Everything went down very discreetly. The communicative Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops, Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, appointed by Pope Francis, made no public announcements.  This seems to have to do with the fact that the outcome of the hearing did not meet the expectations of the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops. The priest Santiago Martín, founder of the Franciscans of Mary conceived the opinions of lay associations in an essay titled: "Catholic Laity: Discount, No thanks!."
"Virtually all lay movements represented in Rome have spoken out in favor of retaining the traditional doctrine." The outcome of the hearing "would not clear and may be clearer. Practically the whole of those present in Rome, about eighty movements, including the most significant and most members who have spoken in favor of retaining the traditional doctrine. Everyone says that the process of marriage annulments  should be accelerated, but without making a Catholic divorce of it, and that the divorcee is to be met with great love, so that they do not feel excluded from the Church, but without prejudice to the Eucharist becoming devalued and are not allowed access to Communion without being in a state of grace. The base has clearly said, 'Discount, no thank you!' "

Frankness of the Laity, Who do not Like Rome - Cardinal Baldisseri's Indignant Reaction

Cardinal Baldisseri
Laymen were posseed of that those frankness claimed, the Pope Francis in his welcome address had called for the opening of the Synod of Bishops on October 6, 2014. A frankness that a group of cardinals at the Synod revealed by defending Catholic doctrine against the papal supported Kasper-line. Even at the risk, thereby to fall into disgrace with Pope Francis, who actually made an example by the Synod on the Word of leader of the defenders of the indissolubility of marriage.
Accordingly,  Cardinal Baldisseri, the Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops reacted angrily to the opinions of the laity. He defended the "right" of Cardinal Kasper against criticism of the laity, to require the approval of adulterers to communion. Cardinal Baldisseri spoke not of adulterers, but of "divorced persons who live in relationships unrecognized by the Church."

Baldisseri: Jesus' Words "Can be Called into Question"

Baldisseri contradicted the lay representatives, and they should "not be surprised", because there are theologians who oppose the teaching of the Church. What was understood by those present was that the Cardinal wanted to say that the Church's teaching is not so clear on the point.
Finally Baldisseri claimed that the dogmas of the Church "evolved" and that "there is no point to hold a synod, if you then just repeat what was always said."
But indignation among those present broke Baldisseris final assertion: "Just because a certain understanding 2000 years ago was in a place that does not mean that it can not be called into question."

Layman Says Words of Jesus Christ are "Immutable Law" and "Can not be Called into Question"

The lay representatives could not wait to give their  reaction. Patrick Buckley, the international representative of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children commenting on the statements Cardinal Baldisseris, said:
"The Church's teaching on the indissolubility of marriage is based on the words of Jesus Christ. These words may have been spoken 2000 years ago, but remain an immutable law of God for the Catholics, nothing more and nothing less. "
Mary Madise, director of Voice of  the Family said: "Cardinal Baldisseri has publicly corrected one delegate, who protested the attacks against the Catholic doctrine. Unmistakably, the same thing did not happen not so shortly afterwards, where another delegate denied the Church's teaching on contraception. One had the impression that there is only one sin today, the defense of what the Church has always taught. "

"Sophistry of Professional Dissidents Does Not Help Suffering Families"

About the overall climate regarding the hearing from   the Roman position, Madise said: "It seemed as if one could discuss just about everything at this conference, including  questions that have already been clarified by the Magisterium of the Church. Such a debate distracts from the task of finding real solutions to the problems encountered by the families really face. The serious evils such as abortion, euthanasia and the attacks on the rights of parents was barely touched on in the discussion. These are some of the key issues that were incidentally also ignores the final report of the Synod in 2014. The suffering  of families is not helped by the subtleties of professional dissenters, whether these are church leaders or laity. "
Voice of the Family called for, considering the "shocking experience" a few days ago in Rome, all Catholics to unite in prayer so the Catholic doctrine affirms marriage and family in any document of the Pontifical Family Council in the wake of the conference and when the Synod of Bishops is formulated in the fall.

The laity need to lecture these prelates? What have we come to?

If the dissident Cardinals picked up the Summa, they would notice that the laity have, a priori, St. Thomas Aquinas on their side.

It may not look like it now, but this is the beginning of the end for Pop Francis and his clique. By welcoming a transsexual "man" (born a woman" in the Casa Santa Martha (LOL) of the Vatican and his "fiancée", and encouraging them, Pope Francis revealed himself for the radical lunatic he is. The outrage against him over this is huge in Italy.....HUGE. And it is spreading elsewhere. People are beginning to think that Pope Francis is not only a radical liberal....but that he is insane to do these things.
The Confraterinity of the Clergy Society (either in the USA or in Britian, just today came out with a decree defenting Catholic tradition and Catholic sacrament of Marriage.
Pope Francis is loosing tremendous support in Italy and elsewhere over the suspicions of his deviant plans and agenda.
The 8 million people who came out to see Pope Francis in the Phillipines were not coming to see Pope Franics per se.....they were coming to see "the Pope".
How sad that he is actually the devious schemer of Casa Santa Marta.
But his agenda will backfire on him and his supporters.
They will all go down in flames in October (and later on, perhaps literally and for real when they pass on).

I hope (except for them going down in flames in the next life) that you are right. I used to think that Paul VI was a disastrous pope and be confused, embarrassed, and scandalized that John Paul II kissed the Koran and called the ridiculous and misleading Assisi Conference.

I'd take either of them back in their most shocking moments and worst choices and decisions over Pope Francis.

How is Jorge Bergoglio any different from the average Vatican 2 cleric since 1968-1969?He is no different in any way shape form or fashion. The only differnce if any is Jorge Bergoglio is open and honest about his apostasy.

You should be praying for a true pope to restore the Catholic Church.Forget Bishop Montini & Bishop Wojotya.Since 1951 the Vatican has destroyed the Catholic faith every declaration and public act of betrayal.

Laity 1, Cardinals 0.

If the laity can throw this divorce and communion rubbish back at the cardinals, there's hope for the Church yet.

One wonders if the Pope could have gotten away with inviting the trans-sexual couple to the Vatican, ie Papal apartments. Perhaps there is a reason the Pope is living in a hotel after all.

Is it going to get worse re the 'gender' issue? Will more homosexual priests come out (to standing ovations), will the Church dismiss them? I guess not, if they don't 'act out'. The problem is gay priests have state law on their sides now. Would they prosecute parishioners who don't approve? If the Church only approves of marriage between a man and woman, will these gay priests start to take out civil marriages, because, of course, they're not acting out? Is this where this is heading? Blessings of homosexual unions in Church anyone?

If you can give Communion to adulterers, you can give it to practicing homosexuals.

The laity have no real say unless it is to go along with a modernist agenda to attack the Truth. The men the pope surrounds himself tells a story, doesn't it and it is not pretty. It also is not holy or true. Too much heterodoxy...even heresy. Too much name calling and confusion. Not from God.

"The laity have no real say unless it is to go along with a modernist agenda to attack the Truth."

That hasn't been true historically.

If, as reported, they called the words of Christ into question, then the teachings of the Angelic Doctor haven't a chance.

BTW, I thought the whole point of Vatican II was to make laymen more active in the Church. "Aggiornamento." Evidently, the laymen who love and obey Christ aren't the ones they had in mind.

Knock it off already, Mr. Broken Record. Wasn't John Paul I a true Pope? Please detail, whatever that means, how will you reseat a new "true Pope?"

I'm just going to say it. ..
can we just clear Rome and all the parishes of faggots and go from there?

"One had the impression that there is only one sin today, defense of what the Church has always taught." In my late teens I figured this one out. According to the "spirit of Vatican ll" Catholics there was no more sin, with the exception of the sins of believing in the Real Presence, Devotion to Our Lady, obedience to the Pope and the worse sin was the Language of the Church, Latin! Which according to them, Vatican ll abolished. Never did I imagine that error would reach all the way to the top, to the very leadership of the Church. This article and the comments have made my day.

I used to think Pius XII was our last 'true pope', but on reflection his actions were those of a liberal. Pius X was the last authentic pope of the modern era. It is looking likely that 'Jorge' will be the last occupant of the papacy....perhaps for a long time. We are living through revolutionary times but it is good to see many people are starting to wake up. My main worry is that they are not waking up quickly or in sufficient numbers to avert a catastrophe of millennial proportions.

Let's face it, the cardinal is nothing but a baldi.

LeonG said...

And there are still so-called conservatives who deny that this neo-church is in a radical state of apostasy.

Among the laity somewhere there is some commonsense but it has been subjected to 50 years of liberal modernist gerrymandering.

It used to be said that the duty of the laity was to "pray, pay and obey". Well then we have the power to derail this runaway train. We can still pray but we most definitely can stop paying and obeying. Hit them where it hurts, in the wallet!

The laity has always resisted evil clergy, which is an expectation of someone who has a well-formed conscience.

If Brother Alexis is correct the Synods 2014 and 2015 are just beta testing the real goal is Vatican III.

In any modern startegy smoke and mirrors are necessary with crumbs thrown to main stream media to monitor reactions of the faithful. The ball is thus advanced forward even if they appear to lose.

https://fromrome.wordpress.com/2015/01/19/francis-is-considering-calling-vatican3/

Somewhere in Rome they are holed up clerics mixed with business suits preparing the first stages of Vatican III?

My initial reaction was "what?"

Then I remembered: tax collectors and prostitutes, the Samaritan woman at the well, the Centurion...

Who am I to tell Francis how to do his job?

Fr. Vernon Knight said...

I don't know where you people get off in saying that Pope Pius XII was the last POPE, because he was not!!! There was John XXIII, Paul VI, John Paul I, St. john Paul II, Benedict XVI, and now Francis WHO is POPE!!! Don't believe everything you hear in the media, let alone social media because they don't care for TRUTH. It even sounds like some quotes being said were just completely made up. Pope Francis has said that the media has misquoted him, and recently different media outlets have admitted to misquoting him in recent stories.

And check out what Pope Francis said in his closing speech, on the final day of the recent Synod, which the media completely ignored:

"The temptation to a destructive tendency to goodness [it. buonismo], that in the name of a deceptive mercy binds the wounds without first curing them and treating them; that treats the symptoms and not the causes and the roots. It is the temptation of the “do-gooders,” of the fearful, and also of the so-called “progressives and liberals.”

The temptation to come down off the Cross, to please the people, and not stay there, in order to fulfil the will of the Father; to bow down to a worldly spirit instead of purifying it and bending it to the Spirit of God.

The temptation to neglect the “depositum fidei” [the deposit of faith, i.e. the teachings of Jesus in Scripture and Tradition], not thinking of themselves as guardians but as owners or masters [of it]; or, on the other hand, the temptation to neglect reality, making use of meticulous language and a language of smoothing to say so many things and to say nothing! They call them “byzantinisms,” I think, these things…

Dear brothers and sisters, the temptations must not frighten or disconcert us, or even discourage us, because no disciple is greater than his master; so if Jesus Himself was tempted – and even called Beelzebul (cf. Mt 12:24) – His disciples should not expect better treatment.

People with a "leftist" agenda are trying to mold his public image to suit their purposes. The problem is that when you actually READ what Pope Francis has said, he's neither left wing or right wing. He's Catholic.

Tancred said...

You'd have to be very delided indeed at this point not to see +Bergoglio as a change agent for the zeitgeist.

That was clear during the Scalfari interviews, and most people, outside of a few self-deluded true believers on the Neocatholic side, believe that he is an advocate for degeneracy.

These planned events look like endorsements rather than calls to penance, which most American Catholics have no understanding.

was married for 5 years with 2 kids and i have been living happily with my family until things started getting

ugly with me and my husband that leads us to fights and arguments almost every time… it got worse at a point that

my husband filed for divorce… I tried my best to make him change his mind & stay with me cause i loved him with

all my heart and didn't want to loose my husband but everything just didn't work out… He moved out of the house

and still went ahead to file for divorce… I pleaded and tried everything but still nothing worked. The

breakthrough came when someone introduced me to this wonderful, great spell caster called Dr WAKINA from the

promise never to hurt me again. We are living happily as it was with the help of Dr WAKINA. If you are in need of

I stumbled on this page as I am interested in the outcome of the Synod and the preparations of the second session, but, honestly, I cannot believe that such hate pages exist. It´s as hateful the worst leftist magazines.
