Traditional Priest Refused Requiem

The following is from Damian Thompson. Apparently, the Requiem Mass for the departed Father Jeam-Marie Charles-Roux is being refused:

Latin Mass Society confirms that, shockingly, St Etheldreda's Ely Place has refused to allow the celebration of an EF Requiem Mass for Fr Jean-Marie Charles-Roux, who celebrated exclusively in the older form in that church for many years. I knew Fr Jean. This is an insult to his memory. The email address for the Rosminian Provincial, Fr David Meyers, is dm@ic-uk.org.

uhhhh...pretty sure that black candles are never used in a Mass. I've seen 6 tall beeswax candles beside the coffin, but never black. And the rest could be acquired quite easily by borrowing from a Traditional priest. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that Fr. Charles-Roux had everything that was necessary.

This is about vindictiveness and a supernatural hatred. Period.

I have never been so close to jumping to the SSPX in my life. Just truly biting my nails waiting to see what this travesty of a synod is going to produce.

I'm just deleting what it writes. I don't think it has anything constructive to say.

Black candles are used in the so called "Black Mass".

I don't dialogue with people who are so evil willed.

How horrible- exacting revenge upon the dead, are they?

It was asked "Why do they not tolerate the old Mass?" "Because if they didn't, no one will go to the new Mass."

It is important that if we cannot overcome this... enemy, then we must prepare ourselves. Popes who follow tradition come from a College of Cardinals who follow tradition; those cardinals are taken from bishops with absolute respect for tradition; those bishops come from priests who have utter respect for tradition; those priests are selected among men who were raised to follow and respect tradition by a family that does the same.

With the Church hemorrhaging numbers, we must be ready to fill the void, once the Vatican 2ers are dead.

I would suggest it would be a wonderful thing for those who have access to a parish (or mission) where the Traditional (EF) Mass is celebrated to have EF Masses said for the specific intention of the repose of the soul Father Jeam-Marie Charles-Roux.

GREAT idea! And be sure to send announcements of the Holy Mass to the unCatholic reprobate at St Etheldreda's Ely Place.

What was the reason given for refusing to do what ought to be done?

@Lynda, my guess? They'll probably say that the Immemorial Mass of All Ages is too rarefied, specialized, demanding too many logistics to have a Requiem performed.

I'm sure we've all seen the video "an altar in 10 minutes".

I sent that out in an e-mail blast....it was awesome.

You should be asking yourself
who made the request for a EF Requiem Mass.
St . Ethedredas church is not currently equipped to conduct this
funeral rite.

Good question. All I am going to say is that apparently no EF Requiem Mass will take place, but, given the quality of the answer to my inquiry, I find it hard to believe that the suitability of the church's equipment is at issue. At least the issue was never raised in correspondence to me, and the issue of EF avoided.

I do not know anything about St Etheldreda's, but based on what you say, it sounds like it is a "reckovated" church. But if it is as Damian Thompson said, that Fr. Charles-Roux has been saying the Mass in EF for years, then it sounds like it is not "reckovated." How can a church have been suitable for the EF the a short time ago but not now?

We should not use THEIR terminology. It is the Mass of St. Pius V, not the EF!

Our Holy Church has a vast number of infiltrators, we must wake up to this. David Meyers sure sounds like one to me. Remember Bella Dodd said that she personally witnessed over 1000 infiltrators into the priesthood. The Latin Mass is our only hope and this is why the current Pope as well as Meyers are trying to destroy it. Please email me at epperlyrobert@yahoo.com for a copy of my latest book. It's Catholic Faction. Blessings and keep the true faith...amen.
